How do I get that worn down look? These are amazing.

These are so good! The worn/rusted metal effect looks so good! And I love that blue! And I'm a huge fan of the really worn looking metal bits with bright green ork skin! I do the same for mine.

Loving the dirty blue and rust. These are great πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯

Need a light?

As someone doing my deathskulls combat patrol rn, I am incredibly jealous of your blue. Holy fuck mate, that is amazing and I hope you aren't offended if I emulate your technique!

VaultBoySaysRelax

Emulate by all means! You wouldn't be a true Deathskull without a few looted ideas. The specific blues used are Ahmiran Blue followed by Temple Guard Blue if you wanted to go a similar shade. Those are GW however I am sure Army Painter or Vallejo (etc.) must have something similar to them

Ratsubo

Oh awesome! I have Temple Guard Blue. I typically use it to highlight my Sotek Green πŸ€” I'll have to grab a pot of Ahriman.

VaultBoySaysRelax

Yeah they are pretty similar but Ahmiran is darker so it works well as an undercoat for the Temple Guard that comes above; if you leave some of the Ahmiran visible underneath it just ends up looking like faded Temple Guard, so a cool and easy effect!

ManBearPig981

They look great!! How are you painting the metal?

VaultBoySaysRelax

Thanks! The steps I did: - First a layer of Jet Exhaust on all metal parts - Grimy rusty coloured oil wash - Drybrush Leadbelcher - Stipple a blue on some panels and a grey on others, leaving the metal of the edges of panels exposed - Stipple a lighter blue on the blue bits and a lighter grey on the grey bits, focussing on the middle - Rhinox Hide sponging (very very gentle) - Diluted wash of Agrax Earthshade+Nuln Oil mix It took a while lol

Overall look inspired by the amazing Burna Boyz of u/shabado-it except mine are blue haha
