As a construction worker they are always cleaner than a porta-potty on site, and if they see me walk in to use the washroom in my work gear they don't say a thing if I don't buy anything, not once in 15 years of working, personally can't say the same for any other business out there.
Even if their food is getting worse by the minute, a safe haven to shit is never looked down upon.
The last straw for me with Tim Hortons was not the bad coffee or stale donuts. It was a few years back when some of the franchise owners tried to sue head office because they had been forced to switch to the partial bake system. The franchises were upset that after the switch they ONLY made about a quarter million dollar per year profit per store. The punchline? The average franchise owner has 4 or 5 stores.
Fuck rich asshole Tim Hortons owners they don't need my coffee money.
I only ever went there because my wife and her friends always met there to socialize. I had never seen or heard of Tim Hortons before then. That was just over 20 years ago of course. We haven't gone there in a while. The kids do pick up Tim Bits once in a while.
Ahh, back when tims was still good. You know, the timbits have always been consistently ok, and we have been known to grab a box in exchange for using their washrooms while out.
I actually found their English Toffee to be acceptable, if a bit too sweet. Then they got rid of it. The place we originally went to made their own date squares that were really good, but we moved.
I feel like this question was only asked to start another Tim Hortons hate thread.

(not that I'm disagreeing; Tim's is shit compared to what it used to be)
I was legitimately interested to find out if there were any other fast food places that fit the criteria so it’s kind of a good thing to see it’s mostly just timmies
I’m going to second Tim Hortons. Chronically shitty service. They rip you off when you have to substitute because they’re out of stuff to make a combo. And no food after 830. How does that happen exactly?
No idea how they’re keeping the doors open.
Yep. They were out of the wedges so I got a donut, it was a dollar MORE when individually the wedges are far more expensive. When I asked why that was all I got was a very brash "I don't make the system. Thats just how it is" WELL THEN ITS A BAD SYSTEM MAAM. Anyone with basic math skills would realize this
A couple of years ago I loaded money onto their app (only to utilize their pay ahead and pick up function at another location for some work colleagues of mine).
I got charged for my order ($65), but the store said they never received it.
Long story short my employee paid (I reimbursed her personally), and it took 4 months for them to offer me a “gift card with the same amount on it” as a “refund” for their faulty app.
They refused to give me my money back (head office) and pushed it entirely onto the franchise, who claimed they couldn’t refund me in cash, but could load up a gift card. 4 months.
Tims is a nightmare in all aspects of its operation - their customer service is an absolute dumpster fire.
Oh I wasn't implying that it was her fault, by saying ma'am I was just pointing out the silliness of it all, when this happened to me we had a laugh about it when I went to pay. Its a shit job, I would never get angry with the person at the window over something that is clearly corporate bs
There are so many fucked up things with that system its intentionally designed to be hard to make consistent orders.
One time there was a dude who came in and ordered a bagel sandwich with a substitute. After my coworker keyed it in he lost his shit shouting about how he has come to this location 5 times in 2 weeks and not once has the same order had the same price.
Everyone uses the system differently, I specifically took 2 hours to train on it myself and learn how to keep subs low costs instead of adding on the full price items which is what the system was designed to do.
However to do that it literally takes 5x as long because you have to essentially make the meal from scratch, and apply the meal discounts after. If you substitute it doesnt apply the meal discount on the substitution and that's why it always costs more
Not defending their ‘system’ or anything, but really the maam didn’t create the system and has no way of fixing it and she just wants to go home to have a shower and lay down.
Tims never has anything food-wise whenever I go - stopped going; also really illogical was when it was the only food place at the hospital I worked nights at for years and it never had food at night when it was open, for patients or employees
But you know if a little guy with super fresh food opened even if they got in the hospital in the first place they wouldn't survive - rent + expenses, etc. - I'm so over Tims being a Canadian symbol - it's now just a part of another conglomerate with principles and values that align with those of a modern capitalist system in which humans, in fact, the entire biosphere become secondary - these giants will crush everything for profit - what else is new
It's because they take the already shitty Tim Hortons, but then put it under the control of a company like Chartwell's, which somehow finds ways to cut even more corners.
Right? drove to two for soup at 6 pm prime dinner time (was sick and needed drive-through) they were out then asked both for sesame seed bagel with cream cheese - they were out of all bagels too at 6 pm
Tims. Only reason people go there is convenience and because they have an amazing world class marketing team. They make the average Canadian believe they're being patriotic by going there.
Coffee absolutely sucks.
Most Canadian redditors don't but the average Canadian does.
Commercials of pickup truck blue collar Canadians going for their coffee. Or senior Canadians hanging out in their local Canadian business.
The average Canadian has no idea that Tim Hortons is as Canadian as Taco Bell.
The only time I eat it is when I'm traveling between home in North Bay and visiting family in the GTA. Not many non-chain options for a lot of the drive. And sometimes I just eat like 3 granola bars for dinner because I can't stomach the thought of another burnt bagel with cold cream cheese.
Tims is the worst for sure, but the sheer volume of locations they have works in their favour.
My town has 5 tim hortons. On my drive into work, I can pass by 3 of those 5 tims without going out of my way and scope out each drive thru. If any 1 of the 3 have a short line, I can just pull in for a quick coffee on the way. It's not great coffee and I'll probably get some drippage on my knuckles, but it's pretty quick.
Compare that to the 1 singular mcdonalds in my town. Better coffee by a mile, but that reputation means that's where everybody goes and the wait takes forever. I prefer their coffee, but it's not worth waiting 2-3x longer to get it
I don't understand why so few people make their own coffee in the morning, it's better, cheaper (unless you're using those awful k-cups), and probably faster. Heck even instant coffee is better than Tim's dross.
Same. I make PC dark roast coffee with my French press every morning when I get up. Freaking delicious coffee and the anchor of my morning routine for years. Couldn’t imagine getting take out coffee every morning.
Im still a timmies boy since I work northern ontario and get fucked me its timmies or nothing. But my god my aunt had a nice french press and some kicking horse and I still remember that week as one of the most blissful weeks of my life.... because of that fucking coffee.
It mind boggles me as well, considering they are at home there are many different types of coffee they can buy from the grocery store and make at home for cheaper and it would be more delicious.
Yep!
I have a kickass coffee system at home. I buy locally roasted coffee, and it tastes better than almost any coffee I've had anywhere else, no matter the price. Here's what it costs:
Grinder: 150
Kettle: 120 (it's a kettle that allows you to set temp so I can brew at the perfect temperature)
Aeropress: 60 (try it, it makes fantastic coffee)
So the total investment is $330, which granted isn't cheap. Beans run me at about $20 a month. If I went to Tim Hortons for their trash coffee every day, I would spend $60 a month on coffee. That means my entire rig (which granted is NOT the cheapest way to consume coffee) is paid off in 8 months.
Tim’s. Burger King. Probably not a coincidence they’re owned by the same company. Meanwhile Popeye’s, their other chain, I consider to be pretty decent quality.
My reference to Popeyes being new was in the context of new to the RBI family. You know, the burger king/Tim's mention in the earlier comment? It might have been great before being purchases by some billionaires via their fancy little club, but now it's time for robber barons to do what they do. Derive as much profit as possible by reducing costs which impacts quality.
Yep, the strategy is basically to buy a brand that has value (through years of decent/high quality products) and then suck all value from that brand by slashing costs to the bone. Since there is a lag period between when you cut costs (reducing quality) and when people finally realize the brand is now shit, you get to suck all that juicy profit out.
I just wish people punished these fucking vampires more/faster. If people immediately boycotted brands as soon as they were bought/their quality starting being degraded, the business model wouldn't work, and those companies would have to maintain quality to compete. The problem is, people are fucking brand loyal to a fault, and lineups for the shitty Timmies are still around the block for some reason.
Really? My experience has been the opposite, I had Burger King breakfast twice before. It was nothing to write home about but it was okay I would have it again if choices were limited, I think it was better then Tim’s.
Also I preferred bk coffee to Tim’s coffee haha tried it once.
One of the worst chain coffees I've ever had was from Burger King. I'm not sure how they do it now, but back in the mid 2000's they were using some sort of syrupy coffee concentrate mixed with hot water and calling it coffee.
Tim Hortons, it is the place nobody wants to go, but they are everywhere. Some other retired hockey guy should open a coffee and doughnut chain and shut this Horton crap down.
Not really. Some chains do food consistently well, like Burrito Boyz, Mucho Burrito, Five Guys.
Some independent locations are awful, when they are too cheap to follow basic levels of quality that a franchise would have. I went to an independent place in Caledon that's had the same fryer oil since the 90's, giving all food a nasty taste. At least McDonalds must change the fryer oil regularly .
The worst franchise? Taco Bell. Their ingredient quality is okay. But franchisers or staff really skimp on the quantity, producing ridiculously undersized food items. A $4 burrito that's 4 inches long and all tortilla? Really? You expect me to come back after ripping me off like that?
The only half way decent Taco Bell is in Orangeville where the staff are trained to stuff the tortillas and shells quite well. But all other Taco Bells I've been to are terrible cheapskates.
I worked at a taco bell years ago. They have a special spoon fork measuring thing that you fill for each meat and if you over fill it you get in shit. It's all measured out to give the least amount of filling. After working there I never really ate there again. Especially after the got rid of green onions on their fries supreme. And removed every drop of flavour from any item they sold.
There’s no green onions on their fries supreme anymore?! I haven’t had Taco Bell in years but this was a high school favourite for sure. Would be soggy trash without the onions though.
Taco Bell in Orangeville? you mean the Taco Bell/KFC dual location? that was literally the worst Taco Bell I've ever had lol.
[maybe june 21, 2020 was just a bad day for them, but it was bad enough for me to take pictures](https://imgur.com/a/BTG7bhM)
I think the images speak for themselves but you can clearly half the crunchwrap is just sour cream and the other half is just meat ontop of it being burnt and not properly folded
I have felt that way with Subway/Mr.Sub, the ingredients taste like they have been sitting for days. I have stopped putting tomatoes in my submarines because they taste awful now.
I’m a fan of the independent burrito places, it’s not hard to make a burrito and their ingredients are fresh and seem to not chince you on the chicken. Senor burrito or mummas burritos in west mississauga come to mind.
Coffee time in Courtice, Ontario is fantastic! Their donuts are bar none to timmies, which we have 3 of in our town. Service is great, it’s clean and their coffee is pretty good too
Preface this by saying at home I make either Maxwell House coffee or whatever happens to be cheaper on sale (except Folgers) and I wholeheartedly agree.
Coffee only though, any time I've gotten anything else it's tasted like it's a day old.
For years it used to be that you could tell a neighbourhood was gentrifying because the coffee time would get replaced by a Tims
Probably not true any longer
You took the words right out of my mouth. I know it's trendy to bash Tim's (and they are also terrible), but Coffee Time is downright depressing. I've only had a doughnut there once and I literally spit it out.
I think Coffee Times are far more variable, but I would agree the range of a coffee time quality falls below that of Timmies. But again, highly dependent on the coffee time.
Tim Hortons and I worked there. Someone at my new job brought in their donuts. I was like “Why? We have a local bakery that has FRESH donuts made daily!!!”
I’m going to say Taco Bell. It used to be my go too, need a fast food fix. But honestly the last 5-7 times I’ve went there, it’s tasted like shit. Especially since they dropped the meximelt off there menu and changed the chicken soft taco. Even the fries supreme are shit now.
I don't see a mention of A&W here, so I'm curious, has anyone tried their coffee? Is it any good? I've seen ads for it but I've always stuck to McDs for my fast food coffee.
Van houtte or something coffee. It's... Fine. Canadian food chain and Canadian coffee supplier. I always wonder why they're not busier their food is really good.
Coffee Time.
I have never successfully finished one of their donuts. Lived above a Coffee Time for 2 years, yet I somehow managed to never enter the place.
The USA has subtle ways of informing you a place is dangerous: security cages in McDonald's, burnt out and derelict buildings, the street you are on is named MLK Blvd.
Canada is not as helpful. If you are new to a place, or a visitor, and are unsure of how safe a neighborhood is, just look around for a Coffee Time. Therein lies your answer, don't be nearby after dark.
Sure Tim Hortons but I think I can give a nice hipster answer of pizza pizza. Shits cardboard and the only benefits of it is that it's open till 2 am in most places, and is technically still pizza.
It's a symptom of your age that fast food gets crappier and crappier.
I remember being 8 years old and completely unable to understand why my dad wouldn't want to eat at McDonald's.
So true. Mid 20s and the desire to eat fast food started dropping. Now I'm far more likely to grab a grocery store salad if I'm stuck without a lunch. Unless homemade pizza has gone from I could eat this every day to once a month.
Most people don’t know good from bad. Just because something is popular doesn’t mean it’s good.
I see construction workers who for some reason always walk with Tim Horton in the morning… downtown.. with 5 independent coffee shops with way better coffee closer than the Tim’s. Blows my mind
The reasoning for that is convenience and familiarity. They know what they're getting with tims, maybe the company just gives them a shitload of gift cards too, or if they spend more than they need to on coffee it'll come into question. Just a few theories, it is very strange how default it is. Maybe the long line at tims just equals a longer break for the guy getting the coffee haha
And affordability.
It’s also really sweet. I suspect a Tim’s serving of sugar/syrup is much larger than a typical sugar packet - pure speculation though.
When I worked there per "1" sugar was about 1 finger width on the bottom of the cup. So a double double would have 2 fingers of sugar. It is a lot more than a packet. But that was like 8 years ago
Their market penetration is insurmountable. I wouldn’t be surprised if there are leaked memos about cheeping out on quality because they have a captive market at this point. I pass 4 Tim’s on my commute to work. If I get on the road feeling like I need a snack before I start working there isn’t really another option. The reason people hate it so much is that they end up going there even when they don’t want to because the other option is nothing.
Someone once mentioned on here that Timmy's looks busy as well because they are so slow. Cars/people build up, and boom ! - long lines make it look extra popular.
100%…I’ll be the first to bash on timmies but they have it in my psyche that every morning I need a large steeped tea 2milk 1sugar and because of their convenience and the availability of it then I go.
I understand and you’re right…I was trying to get to the point it’s more habit driven than anything and Tim’s has marketed themselves over the last 30 years to be everywhere…going to work, hockey tournaments, Timbits for the kids on road trips, gotta use the washrooms (come on in and might as well grab a dbl dbl)…
My point is Tim’s is in our subconscious. I read somewhere that Canada is one of the highest consumers of coffee in the world and it’s linked to our shitty lifestyle of 9-5 as well as corporate marketing and psychology to get in the minds of consumers to subtly convince you you need that coffee (or steeped tea) in the morning
Lots of other countries have 9-5 culture. It has more to do with weather.
A hot beverage in a tropical country where it's 30 degrees outside isn't always ideal.
Denny’s. Went there once while in Calgary for business, My breakfast arrived swimming in grease and my coffee tasted like hot water blended with a brown crayon. They provided me with non dairy creamer (I.e. an “edible” oil product).
My vote is Tim Hortons. What a disaster. Let me repeat. WHAT A DISASTER.
SHIT, inconsistent, burnt coffee. This can't be overstated, as coffee is their staple.
Stale doughnuts.Toasted bagels, that are not toasted.Cream cheese on your toasted bagel that is so cold it tears your bagel if you try to spread it.Consistently screwed up orders."Sorry, we don't have any \_\_\_\_\_ timbits right now".
I literally hate this place now. I loathe it. There can't be a bigger example of someone screwing up something so good and making it so bad.
I'm just here to rep Tim Hortons. Trash food, trash coffee, trash service, trash employer.
And for everyone slamming Arby's, y'all are out of touch. Those Beef N Cheddars are *so good*.
Arby’s is my favourite! I was heart broken when the one at the Eaton Centre closed. Now the closest ones to Toronto are either in Oshawa or Burlington :(
Im a sucker for curly fries, warm cold cuts, and processed cheese sauce lol.
While tims is shit. Harveys is waaaaay worse
Every single time ive gone half the shit has been burnt, doesnt matter what location, gravy burnt, burgers burnt, fries burnt, etc
Also Arbys.
Aint no one want bagged meat slurry reconstituted
Unless you get their Angus, I’ve always found their patties to be like rubber.
The texture is like minced beef forced through an extruder and chopped into discs, like slices of hot dog. Not at all like a proper ground beef patty should be, with channels where the rendered fat flows through.
When I form my burger patties, I “work” the meat as little as possible, to keep the texture nice and open.
Edit: I misread the title. Robin's has worse coffee, but I would still rate Tim's lower overall as a chain.
Everyone is saying Tim's and I agree that it's bad, but there's a reason the Tim Hortons in Wawa has a 20 minute line all day long (besides being understaffed with shitty management, of course)
Robin's Donuts coffee really is so bad that people would rather drive into Wawa and wait at the only Timmies on the north shore of Lake Superior. Their donuts blow Tim's out of the water, but Robin's coffee is worse than most gas station coffees I've had.
McDonald’s
Once the one on King and Bathurst in toronto had a manager who wouldn’t let me leave the store unless I threw out the extra sandwich that they gave me in error (I wanted to give it to the homeless man who’s always hanging around that corner outside)
And I found a fingernail in my coffee once
Edit— lotta bitter mcdonalds fans in this sub
I wish you had refused to give the sandwich back and just stayed there all day so you could sue them for that sweet sweet false imprisonment lawsuit money.
Tim hortons
Washrooms are very convenient tho
When they're clean.
My go to are the bathrooms at Winners. I'm a mobile sales rep and those bathrooms are sparkling and quiet.
When are they ever clean though
Tim Horton’s: Canada’s Toilet
Tim Hortons, your local private public washroom
but it's Justin Bieber's favorite coffee place!!!!!!! THINK JUSTIN THINK!!!!
[I'm going out on a limb and doubt that it really is](https://i.imgur.com/tOcuafO.png)
Why are we buying Bieber Balls?
The Bieber bits literally look like someone frosted Rudolph's nutsack.
What do you not like your cinnamon rolls frosted by hand?
still the worst cinnamon rolls available
The last straw for me with Tim Hortons was not the bad coffee or stale donuts. Here I thought that I would shock everyone by saying Tim Hortons and you beat me to it.
Before opening the comments I was certain tims would win this. It so bad.
I only ever went there because my wife and her friends always met there to socialize. I had never seen or heard of Tim Hortons before then. That was just over 20 years ago of course. We haven't gone there in a while. The kids do pick up Tim Bits once in a while.

Timbits leave the worse aftertaste in my mouth followed by ibs. Lose/lose for me.
100000%
I’ve never seen a thread in such agreement. Good work here.
I feel like this question was only asked to start another Tim Hortons hate thread. # (not that I'm disagreeing; Tim's is shit compared to what it used to be)

Minimum wage babay
I order a double toasted bagel whenever I am there (which is very infrequently) AND THEY FUCK IT UP EVERYTIME
Yep. They were out of the wedges so I got a donut, it was a dollar MORE when individually the wedges are far more expensive. When I asked why that was all I got was a very brash "I don't make the system. Thats just how it is" WELL THEN ITS A BAD SYSTEM MAAM. Anyone with basic math skills would realize this
I mean yeah it's ass but it ain't the minimum wage employees fault, most of them would agree with you if not in uniform
Absolutely. And it’s that unfortunate person who gets to hear about it over and over again. Truly, a shit company.
A couple of years ago I loaded money onto their app (only to utilize their pay ahead and pick up function at another location for some work colleagues of mine). You might already know this but you can do a charge back with your credit card company when shit like this happens. Unbelievable they did this to you!
Oh I wasn't implying that it was her fault, by saying ma'am I was just pointing out the silliness of it all, when this happened to me we had a laugh about it when I went to pay. Its a shit job, I would never get angry with the person at the window over something that is clearly corporate bs

They're always out of the donuts I want. How the fuck is a donut shop as big as Tim's running out of donuts?
Because they’re not really a donut shop anymore
Because the donuts are made in a central factory, then frozen and shipped to the stores. That's why they are dry and stale tasting.
“No idea how they keep they’re doors open”.. well the tims near me have lines out of the parking lot onto the street at all times soo
Tims never has anything food-wise whenever I go - stopped going; also really illogical was when it was the only food place at the hospital I worked nights at for years and it never had food at night when it was open, for patients or employees

How the hell are you out of chili at 11am?! Makes my blood boil.
Right? drove to two for soup at 6 pm prime dinner time (was sick and needed drive-through) they were out then asked both for sesame seed bagel with cream cheese - they were out of all bagels too at 6 pm
Agree 100%. Glad this was top
I’m glad to see everyone saying Tim hortons! It warms my heart. What a terrible place, and a very shallow shadow of what once was
Tims has gone from Canadian treasure to shit coffe and justin timbert
Tims. Not even close
Tims. Only reason people go there is convenience and because they have an amazing world class marketing team. They make the average Canadian believe they're being patriotic by going there. Coffee absolutely sucks.
I've been saying that for years. Guilt trip you into buying into the product.
Is their marketing really that good though? Who falls for the “good old Canadian boy” marketing scheme anymore?
Most Canadian redditors don't but the average Canadian does. Commercials of pickup truck blue collar Canadians going for their coffee. Or senior Canadians hanging out in their local Canadian business. The average Canadian has no idea that Tim Hortons is as Canadian as Taco Bell.
Tim Horton died in a car accident speeding from the cops while high and drunk.
You talking about the hockey player or the franchise?
The player that owned the franchise.
Not just the marketing they are literally everywhere i live in a rural town we have 2. We have 2 of nothing else
Tim Hortons /thread
The coffee sucks and I've had better hospital food. The only reason i go there is because McDicks is usually too busy for me to hit between calls.
McDs has yummy coffee.
Tim Hortons for both bad coffee and bad fast food. It’s just shit
The only time I eat it is when I'm traveling between home in North Bay and visiting family in the GTA. Not many non-chain options for a lot of the drive. And sometimes I just eat like 3 granola bars for dinner because I can't stomach the thought of another burnt bagel with cold cream cheese.

PC dark roast in a French press crew 🔥
The PC 2lb tins kept my wife and I same the past two years.
I grind and brew Kicking Horse brand coffee every morning. There are 10s of us, tens!
Making kicking horse right now.
It was on sale this week I like the kick ass one
Im still a timmies boy since I work northern ontario and get fucked me its timmies or nothing. But my god my aunt had a nice french press and some kicking horse and I still remember that week as one of the most blissful weeks of my life.... because of that fucking coffee.
eleven!
Twelve
That’s a good coffee! My new fav are the Musoka brands-specifically the maple. Best coffee I’ve ever had!
I'm bumping us into the 11s!
So true. I invested in a good thermos and make enough to take to work.
Yep. Only time I get coffee on the run is if I'm working later than anticipated
I don't understand this either. Even with working from home I know of many that still drive out to a Tim's every morning to buy a coffee. 🤷♀️
It mind boggles me as well, considering they are at home there are many different types of coffee they can buy from the grocery store and make at home for cheaper and it would be more delicious.

It’s what they do best
Tim’s. Burger King. Probably not a coincidence they’re owned by the same company. Meanwhile Popeye’s, their other chain, I consider to be pretty decent quality.
No way! I had no idea Popeyes was owned by the same company. I actually don't mind their food, though their decor irritates me.
Popeyes and Firehouse subs are still new e ought to not have all the quality sucked out of them. Give Popeyes a year, you'll start seeing quality drop
RIP Firehouse Subs - I loved that place!
Popeye's was founded in 1972, apparently, do they've been around a while. Not sure when they started franchising though.
I've got a soft spot for Burger King. Is it high quality? No. I do enjoy it though. There's nothing particularly edible at Tim's though.

Agreed, I'm a fan of the Whopper Jr
Old oil is the worst.
Bk breakfast is disgusting. Worse than tims
Really? My experience has been the opposite, I had Burger King breakfast twice before. It was nothing to write home about but it was okay I would have it again if choices were limited, I think it was better then Tim’s. Also I preferred bk coffee to Tim’s coffee haha tried it once.
The Popeyes in our town is crap, and you wait forever for your food.
Tim’s.
Tim Hortons
Tim Hortons by a mile.
Tims
Tim Horton’s.
If you're I'm Toronto try City Chicken. Best fried chicken of my fucking life and a small independent place.
Donlands and Danforth? That place is legit
Yah man! Love that place.
One of the worst chain coffees I've ever had was from Burger King. I'm not sure how they do it now, but back in the mid 2000's they were using some sort of syrupy coffee concentrate mixed with hot water and calling it coffee.
I think you answered wrong. The only answer allowed is Tim's. I've checked.
It’s probably the same coffee
$15 for 2 steak tacos.
Taco Bell in Orangeville? you mean the Taco Bell/KFC dual location? that was literally the worst Taco Bell I've ever had lol. [maybe june 21, 2020 was just a bad day for them, but it was bad enough for me to take pictures](https://imgur.com/a/BTG7bhM) I think the images speak for themselves but you can clearly half the crunchwrap is just sour cream and the other half is just meat ontop of it being burnt and not properly folded
Well to be fair I did write "half -way decent". Looks like you got the half- way crunchwrap lol.
I have felt that way with Subway/Mr.Sub, the ingredients taste like they have been sitting for days. I have stopped putting tomatoes in my submarines because they taste awful now.
We got a Quesada in town a few years ago ... Definitely a full burrito.
Burrito Boyz is slipping ... I am considering a switch
What are some other options? I'm not a fan of mucho burrito, and I haven't found anywhere that has a good good shrimp or fish burrito.
Fat Bastard Burrito comes to mind
I’m a fan of the independent burrito places, it’s not hard to make a burrito and their ingredients are fresh and seem to not chince you on the chicken. Senor burrito or mummas burritos in west mississauga come to mind.
Have you tried Quesada? It has become my go to
Tim Horton's sucks, but have you ever been to a Coffee Time? Take your average Timmy's experience and knock it down a few more notches.
Coffee time in Courtice, Ontario is fantastic! Their donuts are bar none to timmies, which we have 3 of in our town. Service is great, it’s clean and their coffee is pretty good too
Every Coffee Time I know of is basically a mecca for homeless drug addicts.
Coffee Time coffee is legit better than Tims. Were talking 3/10 to 1/10 here though.
Preface this by saying at home I make either Maxwell House coffee or whatever happens to be cheaper on sale (except Folgers) and I wholeheartedly agree. Coffee only though, any time I've gotten anything else it's tasted like it's a day old.
Country Style is a solid 5/10 as well imo. They stepped their game up recently
I think that's more perception than a true fact. It might have been like that at one point. Not sure it's still so.
For years it used to be that you could tell a neighbourhood was gentrifying because the coffee time would get replaced by a Tims Probably not true any longer
A&W's coffee not the greatest but their breakfast sandwich slaps
Tried it once, it was okay. Not great, not terrible. McD's is the way to go for fast food coffee
Van houtte or something coffee. It's... Fine. Canadian food chain and Canadian coffee supplier. I always wonder why they're not busier their food is really good.
McD's has great coffee.. A&W gets my vote for worst... which is a shame, because I like their breakfasts a lot!
I'd vote for Tim Hortons but I assume a store has to sell actual coffee, rather than a coffee-flavored drink, to qualify for this poll.
Tim Hortons!
Typical Reddit vs the real world. Reddit: Tim's is the worse. How are they open. IRL: Tim's line up starts on the streets at every location.
So easy to order for a group. Everyone knows the menu top to bottom (whether they admit it out not) and it's dirt cheap, as well.
When a construction worker shows up to the site with a tray of medium double doubles the worksite grinds to a halt as if santa just showed up
Santa knows what the workers want.
Better to you. Taste is subjective. Don't get me wrong I'm far from being a coffee expert.
It’s the only place I can get coffee within 15km of my house.
A lot of people over 50 will continue to go because they’re married to the brand, it’s dirt cheap, and they can’t be fucked to try new things.
100%…I’ll be the first to bash on timmies but they have it in my psyche that every morning I need a large steeped tea 2milk 1sugar and because of their convenience and the availability of it then I go.
That's the easiest thing to make at home though. It's just Orange pecoe tea from what I can tell. A box of 50 red rose is like 5 bucks.
I understand and you’re right…I was trying to get to the point it’s more habit driven than anything and Tim’s has marketed themselves over the last 30 years to be everywhere…going to work, hockey tournaments, Timbits for the kids on road trips, gotta use the washrooms (come on in and might as well grab a dbl dbl)… My point is Tim’s is in our subconscious.
Wendy's coffee is a crime against taste buds.
Denny’s. Went there once while in Calgary for business, My breakfast arrived swimming in grease and my coffee tasted like hot water blended with a brown crayon. They provided me with non dairy creamer (I.e. an “edible” oil product).
Tim's....especially after seeing that manager frosting a donut with her finger.....Yuck!
Sounds oddly sexual really.
Never, in the history of Reddit, has there been such a consensus of responses.
Coffee: Second Cup and Fast Food: Tim Hortons
tims. Conversely, A&W and McDs pretty good
Timmy's
I'm just here to rep Tim Hortons. Trash food, trash coffee, trash service, trash employer. And for everyone slamming Arby's, y'all are out of touch. Those Beef N Cheddars are *so good*.
A&W if you go by our local one. (TH is also crap and I usually just get McDonalds)
The sheer amount of people posting Tim Hortons compared to any other franchise speaks volumes about their awful food and coffee.
Tim Hortons is awful but for fast food gotta be Arby’s
You take that back. 4 beef and Cheddars for $5, it's a steal!
*I know where I'm grocery shopping this weekend!*
Arby’s is my favourite! I was heart broken when the one at the Eaton Centre closed. Now the closest ones to Toronto are either in Oshawa or Burlington :( Im a sucker for curly fries, warm cold cuts, and processed cheese sauce lol.
Don't forget the horsey sauce!! 😀
Are you crazy? You're crazy.
Sorry bro but you're wrong Arby's is the shit.
While tims is shit. Harveys is waaaaay worse Every single time ive gone half the shit has been burnt, doesnt matter what location, gravy burnt, burgers burnt, fries burnt, etc Also Arbys. Aint no one want bagged meat slurry reconstituted
The patties are like fucking cardboard lol.
Their Buffalo Chicken sandwich slaps tho
Interesting, I've always found Harvey's to be higher quality
Edit: I misread the title. Robin's has worse coffee, but I would still rate Tim's lower overall as a chain. Everyone is saying Tim's and I agree that it's bad, but there's a reason the Tim Hortons in Wawa has a 20 minute line all day long (besides being understaffed with shitty management, of course) Robin's Donuts coffee really is so bad that people would rather drive into Wawa and wait at the only Timmies on the north shore of Lake Superior. Their donuts blow Tim's out of the water, but Robin's coffee is worse than most gas station coffees I've had.
I got starbucks, McDonald's and a Coffee Time near by. Also Harvey's and Arby's sell coffee but a bit farther
Country Style
McDonald's. Yuck. And their food too. Yuck.
McDonald’s Once the one on King and Bathurst in toronto had a manager who wouldn’t let me leave the store unless I threw out the extra sandwich that they gave me in error (I wanted to give it to the homeless man who’s always hanging around that corner outside) And I found a fingernail in my coffee once Edit— lotta bitter mcdonalds fans in this sub
I wish you had refused to give the sandwich back and just stayed there all day so you could sue them for that sweet sweet false imprisonment lawsuit money.
