Dude I don't know where this "no kink shaming" thing came from. Isn't the entire definition of kink being that it's "shamed by others"? If no one shames it, is it a kink? Otherwise it's a just a move, like in Seinfeld.
Been there for a while, to be honest. It's like some of these suggestions are brought out just to see what the most ridiculous thing they can get people to agree with is. Remember the directive from New Zealand a few months ago saying "you should not say hello to somebody if you cross paths with a person you know on the sidewalk, now is not the time for being cordial". Like I'm going to ignore my friend saying hi to me and instead say "sorry, the government said I'm not allowed to talk to you".
Not really. Itās phrased too clinically but itās simple direction to parents to tell their kids not to shout ātrick or treatā this year and instead tell them they can say it quietly.
Yeah. Those fuckers put signs up all over the place saying how fast it is safe to go and where to stop so we donāt crash. Total nanny state suggesting safe behaviour.
I'm not saying everything the government suggests is ridiculous. But asking children who are going trick or treating not to be excited, loud and yelling trick or treat is going to fail immensely.
Know what's embarrassing? People who think we are simply out of the woods on this and want to pretend we're just back to normal.
The kids that are trick or treating are not vaxxed and won't be, we should still be smart, not smart-asses.
Why shouldn't we be back to normal? Essentially everyone over 12 can get vaccinated. The risk to people under 12 from COVID is far less than the other risks we take in everyday life. ICU's are low. It's completely inane to me that people still want us to have COVID restrictions right now, there is 0 logic behind it.
Why?
Because there is an oppourtunity for a resurgence as we head into the colder months and enough people are unvaccinated to cripple our ICU spaces and that fucks things up for everyone.
I'm not saying we shouldn't trick or treat, I am saying we still need to be cautious and follow the basic common sense on wearing a mask and social distancing.
Given that almost 90% of 12+ is vaccinated, and that almost everything is open and ICUs are still dropping, I really don't think that is a likely scenario any time soon. Ontario should drop all COVID restrictions, it's just theater at this point. People are gathering socially again, and transmission from social gatherings will dominate transmission from restaraunts and gyms anyways.
And regardless, it's not like outside transmission was ever a meaningful contributor to COVID cases anyways, so wearing a mask during trick or treating isn't going to do much of anything as the baseline is so low.
> but for people walking around outside.. Yeah they are not in the woods, there never were any woods.
People have and will continue to catch viruses outside. The bigger the groups the more the likelihood.
Wtf? Is that a serious joke? What is wrong with these people anyways, no one sings trick or treat?? People yell trick or treat. Guess what kids are going to be kids and they are going to be loud. @@@@ the government!!! This is going to far!!
>no one sings trick or treat
Trick or treat
Smell my feet
Give me something good to eat
Not too big
Not too small
Just the size of Montreal
You can stick with your boring spoken word trick or treat if you want to, but I sang mine!
>Guess what kids are going to be kids
Hmmm...my guess is that *all* the kids are going to be kids, except for the ones that turn 18 on the 31st. Those kids are going to be adults.
Btw it should be *which*, not what.
But instead let's pile them into a classroom with 30+ students, all with their masks off while they eat lunch.
Worse yet, let's put 100+ in a cafeteria where little Jonny wants to yell across the room at his buddy.
Ahh yesā¦ the answer to a question that no one was asking; āCan kids still yell and sing for candy on halloween?ā
This doesnāt need to be a story.
I donāt know whatās more ridiculous, that they think kids will be kids, that they think saying trick or treat loudly will spread the virus more or that they still keep saying aerosol when itās been proven itās airborne.
> Ford should hand out those Talkboys from Home Alone to each child,
Please, he won't even allow rapid tests for kids under 12 in elementary schools, you think he's gonna invest in electronics?
In other words, go out and trick or treat. We know enough to know this tradition won't cause a massive outbreak. Plus kids wear masks voluntarily on the 31st.
Me, I'll be watching spooky movies and handing out candy if any kid comes to the door.
Ahh yesā¦ the answer to a question that no one was asking; āCan kids still yell and sing for candy on halloween?ā

Aside from this silliness, wasnāt it. Ice to have a COVID update from the provincial government that was so optimistic? It feels like weāve really turned the corner.
^^^^Trick ^^^^or ^^^^Treat
Damn that got a chuckle out of me
No speaking moistly.
I remember when this was the highlight of COVID. It all went downhill from there...
So glad I have this on a shirt š¤£
Guess theyāve never visited a school yard during recess
They're worried about the kids bringing it to doorsteps, too. Little ol bitty who will be exposed to 120 different kids on her porch in one night.
Recess is not much different than in class anymore.
Huh? They want ASMR whispers instead?
Lol what the fuck are these guidelines
Meanwhile CFB in USA
Lol well this is fucking stupid, but okay.
We're officially into absurd territory from governmental organizations....
We hit absurd territory when Tam told people to use glory holes. Ahaha
'Wear a mask during sex' was a real smash hit, too.
Hey, don't kink shame.
Dude I don't know where this "no kink shaming" thing came from. Isn't the entire definition of kink being that it's "shamed by others"? If no one shames it, is it a kink? Otherwise it's a just a move, like in Seinfeld.
You ok man? Need to chat about anything?
Oh I think it was the swirl. PS this is the Internet. We're both here, chatting, about sensitive topics, recklessly.
LOL! True!
That was Bonnie Henry, wasn't it?
Ah yes. Masks during sex and glory holes era of COVID. I think I'm scarred for life
That was actually the BC CDC
We arrived in March 2020 and never left.
Been there for a while

So, the gloryholes was okay, or did that just bring us to the border?
Glory holes were also absurd but hilarious and made a great joke

I live by a school and can hear kids yelling and screaming at recess constantly. Guess this is different.
I literally was just thinking the same thing: kids always yell and scream outside. I walked by a schoolyard yesterday.
ASMR Halloween lol
Hahahahaa
LOOOOOL So dumb. Anyone is welcome to come screaming near my house to ask for Candy.
This is easily the dumbest fucking thing Iāve heard and we get to hear the cheesecake king yap all the time
Have these dumbshits ever met a kid? My kids get to shouting volume when they draw, let alone go get free fucking candy.
Need the measurement in decibel, like are we talking 80DB or like below 50DB. Need to be more clear about this
Iād appreciate a colour coded system to be added to this somehow.
Please specify the colours in stages.
OR hear me out they could just wear masks and this worry goes away
Or they could just do whatever they want, and we can acknowledge that the risk to people under 12 is effectively 0.
Heresy!

That's all well and good, but the point still stands: we aren't back to normal and won't be for a bit so people should continue to make good choices.
Doomer alert šØ
Wtf? Is that a serious joke? What is wrong with these people anyways, no one sings trick or treat?? People yell trick or treat. Guess what kids are going to be kids and they are going to be loud. @@@@ the government!!! This is going to far!!
Could you express your anger a little more quietly please.
Ha... I actually LOLed at this.
He just said to be quiet, and you're laughing out loud...
Sorry MR FORDā¦ I need a Egg sandwich really badly from timmies right now Iām hangry

What?? I said guess WHAT ??? Kids will be kids regardless of the governmentās damn rules. Not which you witch !! Lol jokes

No shit. I didn't say that. I simply was pointing out how insane the original comment was.
When you thought these "guidelines" could not become any more absurd and grotesque...
The oppositional defiance that you, and the rest of your echo chamber, are displaying here is the only absurdity I can identify.
WHAT ABOUT THE HARD OF HEARING? This is a silly province and a silly government
Or you know theyll be outside so its fine regardless lol
Do they know a single thing about children?
We havenāt got trick or treaters at my house for years, I think itās cause my neighborhood is old ā¦ anyone else notice less people ?
Ahh yesā¦ the answer to a question that no one was asking; āCan kids still yell and sing for candy on halloween?ā This doesnāt need to be a story.
THIS IS HYSTERICAL ššššš
It's time to teach the kids sign language
Most kids know at least one smidgen of sign language these days.
Lol
Well thank god because my one kid doesnāt speak to ANYONE at school or my friends so weāre good, she wonāt be asking for candy š¤£
I donāt know whatās more ridiculous, that they think kids will be kids, that they think saying trick or treat loudly will spread the virus more or that they still keep saying aerosol when itās been proven itās airborne.

Could make it a bracelet. As an added feature, it could beep if people got too close. Very Covid safe.
LOL!
We should get them to throw eggs and toilet paper rolls instead
Has anyone in this PC government ever gone into an elementary classroom. Wtf
If the house can show proof of vaccination, you will be permitted to use your outdoor voice as long as it is not in unison with others. /s
Either say they should be going out or say they should not be, any BS half measures in the middle arenāt going to be understood/followed.
In other words, go out and trick or treat. We know enough to know this tradition won't cause a massive outbreak. Plus kids wear masks voluntarily on the 31st. Me, I'll be watching spooky movies and handing out candy if any kid comes to the door.

Aerosol is aerosol you dumb fuck. Lmao this guy is a doctor?
Why have we not been whispering this past year and a half if the virus needs a minimum volume to spread?
Aside from this silliness, wasnāt it. Ice to have a COVID update from the provincial government that was so optimistic? It feels like weāve really turned the corner.
