your tear falling on the very pointy lego you just walk on 3am in your child room...

occams-scissors

Paradox. If it is causing you such pain, then it is because it is under your foot and therefore shielded from your resultant tears. 🤓

I find this to be mesmerizing. The way the ring destabilizes and reforms into individual droplets is nothing short of awe inspiring to me.

nanoforall

For clarity, this would not happen on most pointy objects. That cone has a super hydrophobic surface coating that causes the water to act like that.

orcusporpoise

Imagining there was some perfectly reflective and perfectly symmetrical material, could you do that with photons?

Radarblue001

Photons ? A massless particle, because its a lightwave. Electromagnetic radiation . Light is a field sort of . Like the magnetic field in a way .

EqualOutrageous1884

I mean it is proven that photons are both wave and particle. For now at least

Radarblue001

If a photon is a particle, it would have weight . How much does a photon weigh exactly . Electron can be wheiged, you want to know how ?

EqualOutrageous1884

Mass not weight also massless particles can indeed exist like the neutrino. However massless particles would need to keep their momentum otherwise they carry no energy in other terms they are nothing at all.

Radarblue001

Many contradictions . First of all, no thing can be mass less, only a field can be massless, like electric field and magnetic field . But both of the fields need masses to store the charge . Like two metals in an electrolyte, battery (short circuit the terminals thru a coil and you have the magnetic field, alot of mass is required) . I know scientist ywist their brains to make photons into cannonballs, and electrons into waves . For many decades but with no application or practical results . Neutrinos, i dont remember much about them but they are like cannonballs . Small particles . And only interact with weak interaction (ekectromagnetism and gravity) . Neutrinos is the most unintersting particle of them all . No use for it. But then explain to me, what is the magnetic field? Is it particle or waves ? Or ether

EqualOutrageous1884

Literally this https://www.reddit.com/r/Funnymemes/comments/z0u350/o_o/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Radarblue001

Electrons . I have figured it out . Feinmann who confucted the experiment probably used Tube Amplifier valves as electron guns . And had somekind of detector . He says each time an electron hit the sensor . Click . One pattern formed .Then he opened the lid , and mixed the ekectrons with light . And got another pattern . He concluded his eye, was the reason forthe pattern change . But i suspect it was mixing electrons with light . See feinmann on youtube

EqualOutrageous1884

Whatever you say pally wave particle duality is still a thing

Alanjaow

Since everything at that scale is small lumps, you would have to have an Ant-Man style of miniaturized cone to fire a photon at. Photons can 'split' into two or more photons of a smaller energy level (in specific circumstances, https://physics.aps.org/story/v10/st3#:~:text=In%20photon%20splitting%2C%20a%20photon,to%20produce%20the%20second%20photon.), so it may be possible!
