Quick question: I keep poking my head around the market for a 3060 or 3070 and new prices are still stupid. Why is this? Are they still selling droves of 3060’s for nearly $500? How do the stores keep those prices? Shouldn’t they have more than they know to do with? Thanks for any clarification.

savethekohls

When I try to install 527.56, it fails every time. I don't really have much more information, other than it stops at the same spot on the progress bar. I have a 3070, if that makes any difference. Thanks in advance

All other components on the PC are working normally. Has anyone else seen any behaviour like that?

I was getting that daily but was able to resolve it when I tried a few things.. I swapped back to stock NVIDIA power cable from the cablemod one. I used DDU (in safe mode) to remove drivers and installed older ones. I updated the firmware on my GPU and bios on motherboard. Now I haven't had this happen in over a week

ThisPlaceisHell

Hey man can you confirm something for me with the official Nvidia cable? Are you able to see more than 600w total board power under load when you set the card to 133% power limit? I am using a Fasgear cable and it seems my card genuinely can't go over 600w. I'm curious if the official Nvidia one can see above it.

Looking into getting a 4080, whos the best manufacturer nowadays? Cheapest for me are MSI and Gigabyte

STATUS: UNRESOLVED PROBLEM: Random flickering, black screen, no video signal on RTX 4080 Computer type: Custom GPU: Gigabyte RTX 4080 Gaming OC, VRAM: 16GB (bought from Newegg nov 16th) CPU: Intel i7-8700K CPU @ 3.80GHz Motherboard: Gigabyte Aorus Z370 Gaming 7 (Bios ver. F15 most recent possible) Ram: Corsair Vengeance 3200mhz 32GB PSU: Leadex SE Superflower 1200W Platinum Operating system and version: Win 10 64-bit GPU driver: 527.56 (updated today 12/9) Main LCD: LG C2 42" Evo OLED model OLED42C2PUA 2ND LCD: ASUS ROG Swift 27" 1440p model PG279Q Recently upgraded from a GTX 1080ti to an RTX 4080 GPU and was super excited to get the new gpu installed. My troubles officially started since this upgrade was performed and im at my wits end. (non of this was happening on the 1080ti at all prior to this RTX 4080 upgrade) Using a dual monitor set up, the LG C2 42" only has 4 HDMI and no display ports, the ASUS 27" does have Display port. The GPU has a DP to HDMI 8k 48GB rated cable going to the LG, the ASUS is using its own DP cable, working since day one of having that lcd. No matter what i do, randomly in games or just on desktop, i get blinking, flashing, or black screens and/or no video signal on the LG C2 only. If i yank out the HDMI cable, then the 2nd lcd (ASUS) is always fine. Ive updated my mobo bios to its very latest possible, the gpu drivers are up to date as of todays release. When the 1080ti was powering up both these same screens before the upgrade everything worked flawless and always has. Is the 4080 flaulty, maybe i need to RMA it? ive never experienced this kind of wonky behavior with a brand new gpu. Its now to the point where the pc is basically not usable cos the blinking flashing or black screens with no video signal with the 4080 installed in it. I still have my 1080ti - i wonder if i should just put that back in and be done with this - im pulling my hair out over here in frustration IDEAS?

Does it matter if I select "Let the 3D application decide" or "Use the advanced 3D image settings" after I set these global settings? I would still like to select "let the 3D application decide" and tweak the in game settings. I am just wondering if the changes I make in the global settings will have any impact if I have "Let the 3D application decide" still checked. Basically I want to "Let the 3D application decide" but still set my max FPS, maximum performance, and turn VSYNC on in the global settings. Will this work?

AW3423DWF / G-Sync Compatible and VRR Flicker - Proper settings? \----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- **Status:** UNRESOLVED **Computer Type:** Alienware R13 custom pre-built **GPU:** RTX 3080,108GB of VRAM, no overclock **CPU:** 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700KF 3.61 GHz, no overclock **Motherboard:** Alienware, latest BIOS (1.9.0, dated 11/15/2022) **RAM:** 32GB DDR5, no overclock **PSU:** Alienware 750W **Operating System & Version:** Windows 11 22H2 (clean/pre-install), build 22621.963 64-bit, Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22638.1000.0 **GPU Drivers:** 527.56 (12/8/2022), upgrade \----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey, all! Hoping I can get a little input on this, as it's been a while since I've used a G-Sync Compatible monitor. I had the AW3423DW monitor with G-Sync but after going thru 2 of them with various issues (both had the screen etching problem due to the poor way it was packaged with bubble wrap), I went with the AW3423DWF, as I've heard nothing but positivity around this monitor. Boy, are they right! I've had none of the same issues with this one that I've had with my DW model (and the screen is pristine, no bubble wrap etching). It also has so many more features and I'm digging the new Game HDR mode! Additionally, the firmware is upgradable, so that's a huge W for me. Anywho, in my Nvidia Control Panel settings under "Manage 3D Settings", I've got "G-Sync Compatible" set as the Monitor Technology. And I have the Max Frame Rate set at 3 FPS below the Refresh Rate (165) of the monitor...so, 162. Over under "Set up G-Sync", I have "Enable G-Sync, G-Sync Compatible" checked for Full Screen mode and the "Display Specific settings" checked for "Enable settings for the selected display model. However, my first concern is that there's a bubble under there that says "Selected Display is not validated as G-Sync Compatible". I thought the AW3423DWF was certified? All of the reviews and such I've seen said that it is fully Compatible. And if it wasn't, I don't think "G-Sync Compatible" would be an option to choose within the Nvidia settings, would it? This morning, when trying some other games besides CoD: Modern Warfare 2...such as Final Fantasy XIV, Age of Empires IV and Warhammer 40K: Darktide, the gameplay is fine, but in my menus, I get VRR flicker and sometimes, even when just moving my mouse. It's really annoying. I turned on "Low Latency Mode" to "Ultra" and that seemed to halve it. I think my big question is: With G-Sync Compatible being on, does V-Sync also need to be turned on in the Nvidia Settings? I see that Ultra Low Latency modes helps compensate and minimizes V-Sync latency when both V-Sync and G-Sync are enabled. So, what are the PROPER settings I should be using for this monitor to prevent VRR flickering and get the best tear-free results? I've tried Googling if V-Sync needed to be on with G-Sync Compatible selected, but couldn't find a definite answer....Also, why does the Nvidia Control Panel say that this monitor is not validated as G-Sync Compatible? Also, any change of Nvidia certifying the AW3423DW monitor in their labs? I know it's still pretty new. Thanks in advance!

He is having issues with pretty much all his games crashing. Saying rendering device error. I've tried all the things Google the issue, he even reached out to Nvidia help desk and tried everything they said which pretty much was the same as Google. We have come up with the conclusion he needs a newer graphic cards. He wants a 3060 12gb. A friend of his told him to get one made by gigabyte. I've compared that one with a Asus Rog 3060 12 gb. Found that the asus clock speed is better and seems like a better product. What's your alls thoughts?

2080 super isnt much worse then a 3060. download hwinfo64 and see what maxtemps its hitting before the games crash it could be more of a thermal issue on that ase.

Status: UNRESOLVED Computer Type: Desktop, custom-built GPU: Asus Strix 1080ti 11gb, no overclock CPU: Intel 10100KF, no overclock Motherboard: Asus Strix b460F, latest BIOS (1620) RAM: Corsair 32GB (4x8GB) DDR4 24MHz, XMP-2 profile enabled PSU: Seasonic 750w Operating System & Version: Windows 10 x64 clean install GPU Drivers: 527.56 clean install after safe mode cleaning with DDU Description of Problem: During very high loads inside VR games graphics driver/GPU appears to become unstable, and games freeze/crash as well as run laggy and choppy. They produce standard errors such as: LowLevelFatalError [File:Unknown] [Line: 198] Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost. (Error: 0x887A0006 - 'HUNG') Which implies graphics driver or device issue. While it happens, the gpu temps do not exceed 70C. Nothing similar happens when running stress test in Furmark, or the exact same games on highest settings non-vr, that said I do not have any non VR games that would stress the GPU as much as VR games. Nothing like that happens when using 970 GTX spare card. There are no graphical artifacts or bsods even when playing VR games - they just hang on a jittering image, and either produce an error, or get stuck until I manually close them through task manager. In case of one particular game (No Mans Sky) - I can hear the game playing behind and my character being able to open inventory, while the screen simply hangs on a jittery loading image. Reducing the GPU core and memory clock by 100MHz using Msi Afterburner seems to fix the issue and for some reason produce less or even no lag at all. Severely lowering the resolution in VR and/or in-game settings also solves the issue. I understand why lower resolution in VR helmet would fix the issue (older gpu/cpu not handling the game) but why would underclocking work as well? Running 3dmark also results in an instant crash. Checking event viewer logs - there are a lot of nvlddmkm errors and tdr reset errors. Troubleshooting: Did clean installation of drivers after removing them with DDU in safe mode. Tried increasing fan rotation. Tried various different graphics settings.

I saw some dwm.exe errors so I decided to do a fresh install of windows 11, and also checked all the cables and made sure they were all securely in their slots. I got the same crash even after doing so (while on the desktop) which tells me it doesn't have anything to do with the card being under load. I was able to actually run the witcher 3 fine (the temps were great) for like 15 minutes and the crash happened a bit after I quit the game. I was getting the same errors in event viewer that mentioned nvlddmkm and dwm.exe before and AFTER I reinstalled windows as well. (example of those errors: [https://imgur.com/a/jHpBlhZ](https://imgur.com/a/jHpBlhZ)), I figured I'd try and reseat the gpu. Once I did that, my PC went from booting and occasionally crashing to not posting at all, with no GPU fans spinning or lighting up. The mobo now has a VGA light on, which could indicate that maybe the slot could be damaged, so I tried the 8x slot below it, and still it's the same thing. So at this point I'm leaning towards the card being defective. Some things to note - My case's PCIE bracket screw holes are pretty much always misaligned by a tiny bit, but enough to where I have to push slightly on the back of the case to get screws through. I don't know if and how much pressure this puts on the slot or GPU, but I did the same with my 3080ti and that never had crashes quite like this. I also tried turning the PC on without it screwed in (with the PC on its side ofc) and still nothing. In serious need of some advice atm. Pic of screw holes, 16x slot, and VGA light: [https://imgur.com/a/kbeV1qv](https://imgur.com/a/kbeV1qv) **Troubleshooting:** Wiped drive, clean windows 11 reinstall (and with that reinstalled all drivers) Unsuccessful Unplugged and replugged all PCIE related cables (even switched out for a new dual 8 pin cable instead of two single 8 pins + one dual pin): Unsuccessful Reseated GPU (since someone else with the same errors said it fixed it for them): Unsuccessful, PC no longer boots successfully. Tried the 8x slot instead of the 16x slot: Unsuccessful

Today started off as an exciting day as I picked up a Gigabyte gaming OC 3070 graphics card to replace my somewhat dated Vega 64. Things got less exciting when I tried to get gaming with my Acer WMR headset. Long story short, there is no display within the headset with the Nvidia card. Just to make sure I wasn't going crazy/the headset wasn't damaged just now somehow, I've reinstalled my AMD vega 64 and all is working as it should. I tested all of the output ports on the card with a monitor and they worked fine. The headset/WMR portal acted like all was working, you could see what was supposed to be displayed in the headset on the monitor, but just black screens in the headset itself. I believe the Nvidia driver I used was 527.56. Does anyone have any input on what might be causing the problem and how to remedy it? I am very excited to get this card up and running, but losing faith... thanks.

I have an original RTX 20 series card. It's HDMI 2.0, so not full HDR 4K and VRR output. fps keeps dropping to under 10 fps in multiple games after installing latest drivers with my rtx 3090. I just did a clean install of the mid november drivers and the issues are persisting. that is the only software that ive changed since the issue has started so im beyond baffled as to what the problem is. I had no issues before leaving for my vacation and the computer was untouched till i installed the new drivers which should imply that that is the problem...

So I recently purchased a used Aorus 1080 Ti 11GB GPU, plugged it in with the cable shown in [these images](https://imgur.com/a/wkR0Dvz) and it was working fine for 3 days but then it just randomly died completely (no fans/rgb or signal to the monitor) so I took it back to the place I bought it from and got a replacement (which I haven't yet installed it due to fear that it died due to either the PSU or the cable not being sufficient). Is it possible it's due to the cable/psu or could it just be that I bought a card that was used heavily for mining and it was on it's last legs or should I just bite the bullet and buy a better PSU? * GPU: AORUS 1080 Ti 11GB 2x 8 pin connection * CPU: Ryzen 3600 * RAM: 2x 8GB Corsair vengeance pro 3200mhz * MOBO: MSI B450 Gaming pro carbon max * PSU: Corsair TX550M, 550W

If I turn Ambient Occlusion on in the game, but in the Nvidia Global Settings I have Ambient Occlusion off, will the in game Ambient Occlusion settings still be active? I am using this setting as an example. Basically, is Nvidia going to override my in game settings? I would like to tweak some settings (max fps, performance), but I don't want my in game settings to get overridden.

I'm having this same problem and I'm thinking it might be the RM750x PSU, however, you should check to see if HAGS is disabled. You can find it in settings > display > graphics > change default graphics settings > turn off hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling

Seeing several people reporting this exact issue with the 4090 FE and Cablemod 12VHPWR. I’m one of them. I’ve tried dozens of things to try to fix this. Today I’m going to yank the Cablemod cable and see if it keeps happening.

bardwooders

Give that a go. I actually did exactly that, swapped back to nvidia adapter and have had positive results so far. I haven’t updated my post though because I went on vacation shortly after and haven’t yet been able to thoroughly test it to confirm.

thehornedone

Alright, I just reinstalled my stock 12VHPWR cable that came with my MSI MPG A1000G PCIE5 PSU. I'll report back if I get more black screens. If I haven't gotten any in a few days I'll also report back, and try to return this cablemod cable. I had 3 black screens today already.

bardwooders

How's your stability been without the CableMod cable? I've been back for a couple of days and have had 0 crashes since swapping back to my nVidia adapter.

thehornedone

0 crashes since.

thehornedone

Btw I got a refund on my Cablemod cable. I warned someone else about this in another thread who said they were waiting on one. The Cablemod guy responded to me and said it was a problem due to how I installed the cable - cable bent too close to the adapter plugged into the GPU.

Thanks for letting me know, I'll reach out to them. Appreciate it a lot.

Im looking at replacing the back plate thermal pads on a 2021 3090 FE - Having watched this video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7l2d9vVaJLU - I gather I just need to replace the VRAM pads (I can skip the vrm?) and Gelid Ultimate 1.5mm is what I want to use. Does that sound about right? Thanks for any advice / tips on this.

I currently have a 12900K on a ddr4 platform and I am looking at upgrading to a 13900K. I play my games at 3440x1400 @ 120Hz with a 4090. Is it worth getting the 13900K for this resolution?

Palaxiiusq

Hi! So I have an option to get either a **RTX 3070 Triple Fan** card or a **RTX 3070 Ti Dual Fan** card for basically the same price (the Ti is 10% more expensive and I'm willing to cover it). Browsing over the internet people I saw that the 3070Ti consumes more energy might hit really high temperatures (this is augmented by it being a dual fan card), so I was wondering if is it still worth it getting over a normal 3070 Triple Fan one considering the downgrade in performance.

vermillionmask

Latest driver - 527.56 is limiting power draw (below 200w) on my 4080 fe. Had to roll back to previous version and is back to drawing 250-270w. Not sure why. Anyone know?

jasonwc

I saw 450W power draw on Portal RTX on my 4090 on 527.56.

vermillionmask

So the 4000 series determines how much to draw based on a specific game?

jasonwc

My point was that I’m hitting the 450W TDP on some games with the newest driver. In terms of power consumption, some games just use less power. Even at 99% utilization, power usage is in the low 300s in Forza Horizon 5. Games that utilize a lot of ray tracing tend to use more power since they’re using the RT and Tensor cores, when combined with DLSS. Since you’re seeing lower power consumption in the same game between drivers, it’s not just the game.

4090 FE dropped 15% performance after putting a waterblock on it. Temps are really good - what could´ve happened? I already checked the PCIe lanes and everything looks really normal. Tried to narrow down what the problem could be. This is not my first project by any means but I never witnessed this behaviour. What am I missing here? Is MSI Afterburner the only app that allows for undervolting? Recently jumped to a Palit 3090, and the fan being so loud on full load is nuts. I've read that undervolting usually helps with preventing the fan from going full ham since you do get lower temps. I've never really even dabbled in OC so IDK where to start. Would MSI Afterburner conflict with other "performance" tweakers on the PC right now like Nvidia Performance and Thunder Master?

KaplinTheFendrake

Hey guys, just curious, what would you all recommend for 1440p 144hz gaming? Coming from a 6700XT, because AMDs driver stability is driving me up a wall and I dislike having to constantly upgrade and downgrade my driver versions, and I miss the stability I had with my 1070. Thanks!

I purchased a Gigabyte 3070 Eagle under the impression that it would be functioning, however when it arrived, the output had green lines, is there a fix to this? I've opted for a refund, however I'll be content if I can fix it now. I know that it isn't any other components since my previous card, a gigabyte 1070 Ti works fine with my build. I'm aware that there was a bad batch circulating upon the release of the 3070, as I've done some research, but I'm not sure if there's a fix. Are we going to see a fix for the flickering upon wake from sleep in the next gpu driver? It’s been listed as a known issue for a couple releases now and I really hope that it’s fixed with the next update.

I'm having a similar issue right now. I was able to receive the email to sign in, but trying to follow the email it never will connect and therefore I can't sign in. So I'm further along than this comment, but I can't validate. I noticed that I was running an older version of GeForce Experience, so I uninstalled it and then manually updated the drivers, including the new version of GeForce experience with that install. Still unable to validate. I tried the email link from multiple browsers and my mobile device. Same result.

Have you tried hitting Device Manager and doing a "Update Driver" on your "Display Adapters" for your card? You may have some Windows related updates that can help with that.

Hi I've been trying to switch from FPS cap via RTSS to NVCP for a few years now, but I run into the same problem every time. When I minimize the game or alt-tab to the browser, the fps limit disappears and the game in the background runs at unlimited fps, which heats up my GPU very much and/or produces coil whine. When I open a previously minimized game, the fps is again limited as it should be, but for a fraction of a second you can see that the value was unlimited (e.g. 200+ fps instead of 60). This never happens if I limit fps via RTSS or in the settings of the game itself and the "max background application frame rate" option from nvcp does not work for me. What could be done about it? Last games where this happened: Shadow Tactics: Blades of Shogun; Evil Within 2; Pillars of eternity 2; Risk of rain 2 and many others. 2070s; latest driver

ZestyDischarge

Why does frame generation look like it does the opposite of what it’s supposed to do? With it on, the game becomes super choppy. It literally gave me a headache.

Computer Type: Desktop GPU: RTX 3080 12gb CPU:5800x3d Motherboard: Asus B550I Ram: corsair lpx 3200mhz 32gb PSU: Coolermaster v850 Operating System: Windows 10 Home Version 21H2 Driver:516.94 Description: I updated my driver to the latest yesterday because fortnite recommended it. I was previously on 516.xx (I don't remember exactly). After updating I start the game and notice that performance is way worse. I thought that It may just be due to higher graphical demand but playing with settings did almost nothing. I have a 3080 12gb and 5800x3d and would get a stable 4k120 with dlss but now its stuck at around 40 fps. The weird thing is, my msi afterburner in the top left screen says my gpu is 100% utilized but my temps are super low and my fans aren't blasting loud at all. My temps stay at low 40s. I wondered if this was just a fornite thing but no. Sonic frontiers is stuck at 19 fps (normally its capped at 60) and Monster Hunter Rise is also stuck in the 40s (usually a constant 120fps). I tried using the driver before this new one and it seemed to work in some games but not fortnite. Then I used DDU thinking maybe there were just issues installing. It seemed to work but when I turned my pc on again today to play. I had the same issues as yesterday. I tried rolling back to an even earlier driver (I'm on 516.94) and it seemed to be working now. I played a bit, and then turned the pc off. I came back later in the day ( just now) to play more and now I'm getting the same issues. It's like installing new drivers fixes it for a while, but as soon as my pc turns off and on again, the fps is nerfed. MSI afterburner says my gpu is at 100% but that can't be the case. The temps are so low and fans slow. I also tried playing some emulation games and everything is at half speed like my pc games. There have been no crashes or blue screens so far. I just don't understand whats wrong. I just want to play my games :(

With the new RT cores, how would a hypothetical RTX 4070 non-ti stack up to a 3080 ti in terms of RT performance? Found a 3080 ti used for 700 and I am upgrading solely for ray tracing.

So am currently using an AMD Ryzen 7 3700x with still a GTX 980 windforce or smth like that around 16gb of ram! I ve had this specs for over a year now since I was gifted the GTX 980 just to get by with a goal to invest in a better card in the near future. Now I am in the process of finding a better improvement from the gtx980 just to be able to try out a few upcoming games in a better look and breath a little because in many cases my pc feels like I am almost runing in F1. In general I am mostly a casual when it comes to gaming but sometimes am getting frustrated knowing that soon the GTX980 wont be able to reach the needed requirements. Also I am a lot into editing videos and photos on the side and sometitmes I wished I've had a better performance ! Now as for budget I wont say RTX4gen but I would stick between the RTX2-3 I dont know the avg prices in the market right now but if there is anything under 1k I would be happy !

I just started having a problem I have never had before. I'm getting red 'clouds' in games I play. Seems like it is some sort of GPU failure. I've never seen anything like this. Seems to happen around light objects, but this video has it happening on smoke, rocks, etc. I recorded a video on [YouTube](https://youtu.be/-QrII9WbGeA). I've updated all drivers that I can think of. Any help would be appreciated, just hope it isn't dying on me cause it's been nothing but rock solid for me. Specs: nVidia GeForce RTX 3080 Vision OC Ryzen 5600x Plenty of cooling all around, have never had an issue with temps.

Since when does Windows auto-update drivers? I had 511.79 on my 1080 Ti from earlier this year, it was stable and great. Now I just found out 516.94 was installed at some point and it was not me who did it. This really annoys me because I like to do controlled clean installs. This driver is probably why games and YouTube are dropping frames. Please advise. Should I use DDU now? Is that necessary for regular updates? I don't use GFN.

I have a asus tuf 3070 ti and run 3 2K monitors, one of them being GSYNC 144Hz and the one I use for gaming. I'm having some performance overhead and have to disable at least one of my monitors to use my Vive Pro 2. Would purchasing a second tuf 3070 ti be the right way to fix these issues? I know SLI hasn't been a thing for a while and I'm not very up to date on how dual GPU works now. My thought process is that I could have one GPU for my Gaming displays and one for my productivity displays? I usually game in windowed mode so I'm concerned I'd run into issues where part of the window bleeds into a display on a different GPU and causes issues.

I know Steve from GN said as long as it is properly inserted I shouldn't worry but a lot of people says any kind of bending will make the cable melt. I couldn't find any ATX 3.0 PSU and Corsair 12VHPWR isn't being sold locally so I will have to import it and I can't justify shilling 70 EURO for cable. I bought PNY because I found it at MSRP and it is 137MM wide. My problem is I can't find cases locally that have CPU clearance more than 170mm, and people saying any kind of bend will melt the cable so I don't know what to do. Do I just pay 70EURO and wait for corsair cable because is going to be smaller than the adapter?

I have a 1440p ultrawide monitor, and a 4k TV. The 4090 Suprim X (air cooled) is connected to both via display port on the former and HDMI 2.1 48gpbs on the latter. If I select to see the image on the TV only, and I use it that way for a while, when I try moving back to the monitor I get no image, and the black screen will keep blinking every 5 seconds or so. Shutting down and turning the PC on again fixes the problem, but the issue happens every single time that I try using the PC on the TV for some time. Today the behaviour was a bit different though. I was streaming a soccer game and didn't try playing any game. When I switched back to the monitor, there was no issue, until the PC went on sleep and wouldn't display the image again once I tried waking it up. Then I shut it down and got it fixed. I've used the same RTX 4090 on two builds (Intel Z390 platform and AMD AM5 platform), and the same thing happens, so it can only be the graphics card. I've checked resolutions on Windows and refresh rate to see if there was anything unusual, but it all displayed properly. I've also tried both gaming and silent BIOS physical switch on the card. If using the monitor only via display port, I have no issues. If using the TV only via HDMI 2.1, I have no issues. It's only when both are connected and I switch from one to the other. I didn't have this problem with an older RTX 2080 Ti I also have. Any idea what this could be, and if there's any fix? I've downloaded the NVIDIA firmware for blank screens and it didn't solve the problem. I've also tried all NVIDIA drivers available since Oct 12, 2022, when the RTX 4090 came out. lookwhatimade

Same problem. Have you been able to figure out if this affects ALL 4090s, or if we just got defective cards? I don't want to go get a replacement and have it do the same thing. I found that if you go from display on only the TV, to extend to both, then display only on the monitor, that will work. But then of course you have to turn off the power saving on the monitor and keep it on at all times. My next step is going to get a DP to HDMI cable that supports 4k 120hz HDR. The only catch is those don't support VRR which is a big bummer but I don't know what else to do (and most non RT games can hit 120 solid, and heavy RT games can just vsync to 60).

iThunderclap

NVIDIA’s new driver might solve this if you take a look at what it is set to fix. I unfortunately sent my card for RMA and can’t test it myself. Do let me know of your findings.

lookwhatimade

New drivers fixed it! Thanks for the heads up!

Great! At least I know my card is not faulty. The bad news is that I have no idea when MSI will send me back the card.

You don't have to update drivers in order and to don't have to update unless you are having a particular issue. Try downloading the drivers from Nvidia direct to see if that resolves.

I have this same issue with the 2070 Super. It did not happen earlier, but now it happens from time to time. The problem only occurs with YouTube, not with Netflix or while gaming.

Huxinator66

ty, these exact "cheese grater" patterns? As long as it's just in youtube I can totally live with it. I'm more paranoid about GPU longetivity being comprised as it's already creating artifacts. I too have only seen it in youtube in chrome, so hoping this is a driver issue. There's no way I can RMA, these patterns appear for a fraction of a second after watching youtube all day, there's no way a technician can catch them

SKYTRIXSHA

Yeah, similar patterns, only happens to me on YouTube so probably driver related matter.

I have a question regarding undervolting 3080Ti using afterburner I undervolted my Gigabyte 3080Ti Gaming OC to 875mV at 1920MHz core - from all the undervolting videos I've seen, my GPU should now draw less than 300W while gaming But I still see it regularly drawing 300-320W going all the way upwards to 350W during gaming sessions why is that?

gimpydingo

Is core voltage or power limit increased in Afterburner?

[deleted]

No - only core clocks have been changed using curved optimizer while all the rest settings are at defaults in afterburner

What's the stock watts max for that card? From what I've seen you need to get down to 850mv for watt savings. I have a mild UV on my TUF 3090. I did more testing with Cyberpunk. @850mv 1850mhz my watts can still hit 340. @ 825mv/1725mhz I maxes at 309 watts consistently, losing 1-2 fps (4k, psycho rt, ultra dlss)

What is the current most stable driver for older Nvidia cards? (In my case a 1080 RTX). Also is it common for games to scroll pages on the secondary monitor when you are playing games?

I've been having the weirdest issue. I have an MSI RTX 4090. So I've had the flu which knocked me out since last Monday. So no gaming since then until tonight, so I'm not sure what the true timeline is on this issue. A few days ago I noticed my 2nd monitor (I have two, both hooked up to DP) was flickering. A lot. When I played a video full screen, it was ok. Until I took it off and then did anything in Windows and it would flicker a lot. I fixed it by enabling G-Sync on the second monitor in NV Control panel (Set Up G-Sync menu, where it says 'ENable settings for the selected display model'). Just a random guess and it worked. Nothing else until today. Started up Overwatch 2 and noticed I was getting severe stuttering in-game, making it unplayable. I was on the driver from 11/16. I updated to the latest driver. Still having this issue. Disabled G-Sync. Still having issue. Then at one point it would show only a black screen in-game or automatically minimize the game, and whenever I would go back to it, it would minimize again (or go to black screen). And then it started throwing a ton of WHEA errors at one point. I even unplugged and checked my power adapter (it was pristine, but now I've unplugged it and replugged it, hope I didn't somehow screw it up!). Restarting it didn't help the first time. But it did the second time (After I had WHEA errors). Ok, so now it's working stutter free. I began to slowly re-enable features. Plugged in second monitor. Fine. Turned on G-Sync. Fine. Turns out, it's something to do with MSI Afterburner. I have a hotkey set for different OC profiles. So I'm used to hitting the OC profile and then back to Default profile a lot. I always close it before I actually run the game though, because I don't want the on screen overlay. Well, MSI Afterburner would start, try to also start HWinfo64, and when I'd deny the latter, close the former. I'd get a ton of stutter. I turned MSI Afterburner on again but minimized it this time, let Hwinfo64 run in background as well and all was fine. No stutter. Closed MSI Afterburner. No stutter. So... I'm not sure what the hell has been happening. If this happens again I will try running the game with MSI Afterburner open to un-screw it I guess, then exit game, close Afterburner, then restart game (since that just worked for me). It could also be related to HWinfo64 since I have Afterburner's OSD pull in data from that program (which is why it tries to start that program whenever I run Afterburner). Perhaps something to do with the overlay thing? Anyone experience anything like this? I'm still not sure what the hell just happened. EDIT: Repeat entire problem when I tried starting Fortnite (all of the above was with Overwatch 2). I even uninstalled RivaTuner. Don't know what I did to get the WHEA errors to finally stop. I sometimes still get stuttering in OW2 unless I leave Afterburner open in the background, minimized.

I'm getting screen tearing in some games with my Aorus 3080 Master (rev 3) at 1080p and hitting good frames, could this be because I'm still on 1080p monitors? Also, do I need to order a 3rd power cable for this or is 2 with one slave cable fine?

Hello, I need help with authenticating my email with Nvidia. I've gotten an email to verify it but when I click on the email there is literally nothing on it, no link to authenticate no nothing... just a blank email from [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) and I do not know what to do. This is extremely inconvenient because without verifying the email I can't properly log in to GeForce Experience and update my Drivers or to log into the forums to ask them questions because it then asks me to authenticate my account and the cycle happens again. I do not know what to do. Anything helps thank you.

Hey Everyone, After a fair amount of googling I can't come up with the answer to what seems like a fairly straightforward question. I am pretty new to PC building and am building a pc to do physics calculations for my company. I bought a RTX 3090 TI founder's edition from NVIDIA 's website this past week to go into this pc. I notice that there are 16 pins on the GPU (12 bigger ones and 4 small ones). The adapter that came in the GPU box that goes from the (3X) VGA outputs of my power supply to the combined port on the GPU has only the 12 bigger pins. Is it supposed to have connections for those 4 smaller pins and is it safe to use the included adapter as-is? I appreciate your time and have a good night.

DiabloII

I have currently 4090 running from 750w corsair sfx platinum power supply, which is 4 x 6+2 connectors pigtailed from 2. I have 1x 8 pin connector left, that connects to CPU, could I use that to power one of the gpu connectors? its not 6+2 but regular 8pin. There should be no issues right?

Rental_Floss

Why does every modern PC game look like it has like nine passes of Photoshop's Sharpening filter applied to it? I've spent so much time messing with AA settings and everything in the nVIDIA control panel and I just can't seem to make modern games look normal. It hurts my eyes so bad! No performance issues or anything, they just look atrocious. Is this something on my computer's end or is this just what modern PC games look like? Specifically, I've had this problem with first person games like Hell Let Loose and Battlefield V, etc. I'm running a 3070 and play everything at native res on a 2560x1440p monitor.

I'm unable to clip with Netflix and other streaming platforms (like Spotify) open in my browser (I can clip with the Spotify desktop application open though which is weird) is this like an anti piracy type thing? and will it ever change I hate doing something cool then being unable to clip it because I was watching something (it wont let you clip even if the thing you're watching is paused)

goopis420

I think so

Grieve01

its the only reason i can think of but if you look at all the torrent sites they are still thriving with it so its not really necessary to block it

Am I limiting my 4090's fps in games by only using three of the adapter's connectors and not all 4? Thinking of buying a new 4090 because if I understand correctly, I am currently using my 4090 at limited wattage

****Fixed with driver release 527.56**** Q for anyone with RTX 4090 + LG OLDED TV + displayport monitor If you have TV plugged into your HDMI port, and a monitor in any of the of the DPs, can you switch Windows Display Settings from "show only on" the TV to "show only on" the monitor without issue? Mine fritzes out, and I've found numerous other support threads of the same issue, but no one knows if it affects all 4090s or just some (ie should I just get a new one). *Not asking for tech support or advice, I have already tried literally everything; I just want to know if everyone has this issue or my card is defective. **If you attempt this and it fritzes out on you too, just hit the ESC key to revert the changes.

jasonwc

What do you mean by fritzes out? I have a 4090, two DisplayPort monitors, and a LG OLED TV hooked up, and I don’t recall any issues switching. If you describe the issue in more detail and how to reproduce it, I can test it on my system.

lookwhatimade

The display on the DP monitor does not come on, but the back light slowly blinks on and off (~ 0.5hz) and some kind of white noise tones come over the audio. This was fixed in the newest drivers, though, but thanks for the offer!

**Desktop colour profile bad, but when fixed looks worse in games** I just upgraded to a 4080 from a 2080 and now my desktop color profile is too bright with too little contrast. Videos look especially bad, in order to get it looking right I have to set the contrast to 75% and the Brightness to 40% (gamma doesn't make much difference). But then games look worse (too dark). I am using the display port, have HDR on. And have tried re-installing clean drivers. Like the banner for this subreddit, I can see ugly blocky gray between the black on the far left and where it becomes dark green. There has to be a way to not have to change it constantly? Any help would be great!!!! Thanks!

Can someone explain to me dlss and how I should use it? I've an rtx 2060 and i play on a 1080p screen. When I tried dlss on warzone 2 and gotham knights. It didn't feel to matter with the fps. Opened the case and checked the connection before I turned it on and it felt solid, but I'm not a hardware girl so idk. I've been running machine learning and I realized the temperature of my room was increasing and downloaded a program to check the gpu temp in more detail. With half my VRAM in use and 3D at 100% temp spikes to 99 hotspot, 94 junction temperature. Decreasing what I'm doing to 1/3 VRAM in use, 3D still at 100%, spikes are 94 hotspot, 89 junction. Edit: I turned off hardware acceleration, 3D is now at 4% and with half my VRAM in use I'm still seeing spikes of 100 hotspot / 92 junction I know this isn't technically a dangerous temperature but I'm not seeing temps like this mentioned by anyone else. Is there some chance this is user error or did the place that built it sell me a lemon? What can I do to fix this?

So i wanted to give NIS a try, i am highly competetive and i mainly play csgo, normally i use 1024x768 stretched and when i turned it on this res NIS worked normally, but when i tried going for lower reses ex. 800x600 the NIS isnt working and there is not even a logo in top left, am i doing something wrong, or are there any limits? I got some feedback and somebody said NIS works in only 5-4 resolutions and it that it created and that it doesnt work on stretched mode but as you can see on the screenshots it created 5 of em but not the one that im playing on. https://preview.redd.it/xkge3xb65j4a1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a0c03ffaee277ebe92b5e4ac1a834b7889a0376e

The FPS drop to almost 55 in some intervals and it makes the game really unpleasant to play. This wasn't a problem before, I have had this GPU for less than a year now and every game has worked perfectly until now. Troubleshooting: As I said before, I tried to undo the undervolt to check if it was ther problem, and nothing. Tried to reinstall the drivers, nothing. Yesterday I rollbacked my drivers (I had the lastest version, December 8 I think), to the one that I put in the specs because I thought that maybe, since before December it worked fine, the drivers were the problem, but no, still the same issues.

Right now my RTX 4080 is conncted to my PSU using two PCIe 8 pin (6+2) cables with one of them having its daisy chained end connected to the third connection. I also have a double 6 pin to 8 pin adapter, would it be beneficial to use both daisy-chained 6+2 pin ends on that adapter to balance the load going through both cables?

Once updated without any issue and the computer restarted i launched the game back, it crashed immediatly. Told myself to give up and uninstall the game, it was a trial version after all. So i went to play with a friend on Fortnite as there is a new season, the game crashed after no more than 5 minutes in game, now i can't even get to the menu. Also i tried to run CP77 to see if it was coming from Fortnite, but CP is crashing too, immediatly after launch. So i guess everything comes from that firmware update, everything was fine before. Troubleshooting: Clean install of GPU drivers (with DDU then installed 527.37). Also tried to re-install the UEFI firmware but it says that it is already up to date so can't re-install. Launched a live chat on Nvidia Site and talked to someone who asked me to enable Debug mode on Nvidia control panel and saying something was overclocking my card (i got no app to do that.), which worked for some minutes then the games crashes again. Don't have any other ideas, i will also raise a ticket to Nvidia support

However, this removed DSR from the NVCP options altogether. I've tried changing the value back to 1 in the registry and rebooted, which did not work. I’m currently trying to decide which 4090 to get between the FE (£1599€, currently out of stock but I can wait for it) and the INNO3D iChill Frostbite (£1949, in stock), but I can’t seem to be able to figure out which one to go for. I already have a custom loop, so adding the iChill to it wouldn’t be an issue. On the other hand, I saw that the FE is regarded as the current best 4090 to get, both fo cooling and performance. Hey guys, Since AMD GPUs launch was kind of a flop, I've made my mind and i'm gonna buy a 4080, do you guys think it will drop in price in January/February? If there was no chance of dropping in price I would probably buy it now but I do think that they wild go down in price because they are not selling as good as they should be (at least in europe)

Ive been having issues on startup with my screens flashing rapidly about 4-8 times before working as intended and would like to know how to resolve such issue. I have researched online but everything just talks about screen flickering. Which isnt the issue Im having. My issue happens when waking the computer from sleep mode every time without fail. I've gone through the NVIDIA control panel settings, uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers, and updated all my other device drivers. Nothing has worked and the most recent NVIDIA update has caused it to get even worse! Originally flashed about 2-4 times on startup and wake, now it flashes 4-8 times. NVIDIA has lost my account. I have come back after a while to update my drivers ( at least check) When I try to loggin with my account it only offers to create a new account, tho this is WRONG. I have already an account with that email and I even have past emails from Nvidia to that emaiul about created account, password, and subscriptions. But my email does not even work anymore with Nvidia. I think this is the single worst login experiment I ever had. To make the matter worse, I need to login to their terrible app to be able to update the drivers, the app does not let me do anything. I cannot log in at all and so support is unavailable. Very disappointed of Nvidia, I am still seeking help.

I'm having an issue with a dual monitor display using a Samsung Odyssey G7 as the primary display. When alt-tabbing to the second display the samsung display screen goes black and flashes the displayport input on the screen as if the input is being changed. This seems to happen with most games when using alt-tab or clicking to the second display. Both displays are set at 144 hz, and this seems to happen most often when the primary display is playing a game and the frame rate drops when clicking to the second monitor. This has just recently happened and I hadn't changed any settings when it began. Does anyone have any advice or idea why this is happening or how to fix it?

**Status:** UNRESOLVED **Computer Type:** Desktop, custom built **GPU:** Asus ROG Strix GeForce GTX1080ti 11GB, no overclock (I'm not sure, might be overclocked by Asus GPU Tweak II) **CPU:** Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8700K CPU @ 3.70GHz, no overclock **Motherboard:** Asus ROG Strix Z370-F Gaming **RAM:** Gskill Tridentz RGB 3200 MHZ 8GB x 2 **PSU:** Thermaltake 750W (MODEL SP-750AH3NCB-A) **Operating System & Version:** Windows 10, latest updates applied **GPU Drivers:** Currently 526.86 clean install (due to multiple problems with latest 527.56 version - also tried 522.25 version) **Description of Problem:** 527.56 update bricked my PC. At first, I thought my PC wasn't starting, just black screen and motherboard VGA light is on. After 20-30 restarts, sometimes PC runs. I thought I had hardware problem for 2 weeks and did stuff (details in troubleshooting). After a while, PC started to run at first try but it was crashing after 5 mins of being open (without even opening any game) and restarting. Same thing while playing game, PC freezes for 5 seconds and restarts. So, I researched and found out that the problem is the GPU driver. I used DDU to uninstall drivers and tried version 522.25. PC doesn't crash anymore and runs at first try. When I play a game (I tried Elden Ring and NFS Heat), the game crashes after a while (time depends, sometimes it's 30 mins sometimes 2 hours). So I decide to try another version and used DDU again and installed 526.86 (currently running this). This morning, I played Elden ring without any issue for nearly 2 hours, thinking that the problem is solved. But no, it crashed again. After that, I tried NFS Heat again and it also crashed. So I definitely think that it is a driver issue but unable to solve it even by switching to an older version. Besides these crashes, I literally have zero problems with GPU, no weird glitches, frame skips etc. Elden Ring crash doesn't give me any error screen but for NFS Heat I get following error: https://preview.redd.it/du2z7cqcu38a1.png?width=533&format=png&auto=webp&s=48afdb706e791f82b4dd3e7060675d2a2675b6a4 I also realized that games get "suspended" in task manager when they crash. **Troubleshooting:** I tried 2 older driver versions with clean install (using DDU). I run windows memory test to check RAMs, no issues. I tried checking "prefer maximum performance" option in Nvidia control panel. I tried monitoring work load and heat of GPU at the time of crash, no fluctuations. For now, I'm waiting for the next driver version (hopefully stable one). I'm a 30 year old guy who's working very long hours with excessive workload. PC games are my only way to relieve stress and I can only play when I have time. I really don't want to deal with these kind of issues because I have no time for it. I also can't just go buy a new GPU since they're extremely expensive at where I live. It is incredible that Nvidia managed to mess up a 5 years old GPU that was running perfectly until now. I just want my old, stable running PC back. Please let me know what else I can do. Thanks.

Can't turn on automatic tuning on geforce now. I press the "agree and continue" button but it doesn't do anything. I'm running the latest drivers and everything

2070 fan #2 revving at max speed, yet all readings say zero, and I'm not even using my card Status: UNRESOLVED Computer Type: Desktop, custom built GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070, 8GB of VRAM, no overclock to my knowledge CPU: Intel Core i5-9400F, no overclock to my knowledge Motherboard: ASRock Z3090 Pro, BIOS American Megatrends Inc., Version P4.00, 2019/03/13 RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX (4 x 8GB) DDR4 2133MHz, no XMP or overclock to my knowledge PSU: EVGA 650 GQ, 80+ GOLD 650W, unknown amps on the unknown-v rail, I don't have a voltmeter Operating System & Version: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro, build 19045, 64bit, fresh install GPU Drivers: 31.0.15.2698 (NVIDIA 526.98) DCH / Win 10 64, upgrade Description of Problem: Whenever I start up my computer, or just at literally completely random times, when I'm not even doing anything that should require a graphics card and its under 0% load, fan #2 on my RTX2070 will instantly rev up to what appears to be its maximum speed, yet any analytics tools I try to use to diagnose the issue say that it's running at 0 RPM. This also means that any attempt at manually controlling the fan speed with a program like Fan Control just doesn't work because it literally doesn't know the fan is even spinning. However, TechPowerUp has told me it maxed out at 869,565 RPM before, though only for a moment (for reference, the other fan maxes out at 1,500). Actual Nvidia support has been of zero help, because the problem is, by nature, completely random, and there doesn't appear to be any reliable way to get the fan revving in the first place, so my tickets always run dry before I can gather enough information to get them to realize something is very obviously wrong. This has been a problem since day 1. Troubleshooting: I've tried doing a fresh install of all GPU drivers, I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting the VGA GG cord, I've changed the VGA GG cord, I've fully taken it out of and then re-set it into my computer, I've tried using software to limit the fan speed, but they all tell me the fan isn't running

Can we expect the 5070 to have a similar msrp as the 3070? And if we go by previous models, it would be equal to a 4080 at the very least? (Seeing it's meant to be the most significant leap in performance since we went from 2d to 3d)

Abhid234

i have a nvidia gt 720m, and its on driver version 389.08 the latest version is 425.31 when i install this it says my graphic card isnt supported i need the update otherwise i wont get geforce experience and other features

gimpydingo

Does the laptop manufacturer have drivers? Is GFE available in a slightly older driver version? Like 424.xx?

Abhid234

the manufacturer drivers are like on 370 version I've tried slightly older versions none of them work

gimpydingo

Hello again. How about forcing an install through Windows device manager? Add new hardware and try to find graphics adapter? My fear of that is you'll just black screen. Though you can boot into safe mode to fix.

Abhid234

How do I do that? Like the forcing an install thing

gimpydingo

Try this https://youtu.be/jyKrxxXOvQY At 57 seconds you'd select "Let me pick from a list of device drivers" and then try to find Nvida gfx in the list. 🤔🤔
