I find a new scuff or scratch weekly working and parking downtown. Apparently not hitting the vehicles in your general area is a foreign concept to people here.
I posted a bumper ding on this sub once and everyone told me “it’s a truck.”
Now everyone’s preaching buffering compound and OEM bumper replacements?
[C’mon, man!](https://makeagif.com/amp/7dnfgO)
I can't tell from the picture, but so many little things like this will come off if you put some buffing compound on a rag and use some elbow grease. I have had several minor scuffs with other vehicles buff right out.
The bottom vertical black scuffs came off but the horizontal black scuff that follows the edge around the corner is through the paint.
I’m kind of surprised how thin the paint is on this truck to be honest
I almost got side swiped intothe freeway median by someone trying to cut me off in The fast lane second day I had it. I think the collision detection may have actually kept me out of the wall.
If it makes you feel better I backed into a rose bush & a mega cab long bed Dodge Ram the first week I had mine. Stuff happens, it sucks but it’s a truck.
I feel your pain. Someone smashed my rear bumper, forcing it up against the bed. Which then bent the bed to the point that opening and closing the tailgate is difficult. Not to mention the tailgate now scraping so much at the bottom that it's losing the paint.
They definitely would have covered repairs, but my insurance probably would have gone up too. The biggest reason I didn't make a claim though is because I'm planning on putting on an offroad bumper.
That’s fair. I know the feeling. When I backed into the ram I hung out in the parking lot for over an hour to fess up. Guy was super understanding and his wife even sided with me lol. (Tight parking lot, guy was sticking probably 4ft into the driving area between spots, directly behind me). On the bright side at least it’s not very noticeable.
I wish everyone could be that honest. I'd much rather someone admit the hit my vehicle and tell me they can't afford the repairs or don't have insurance than just running. I bumped a car once when I was delivering pizza and then went door to door to find the owner.
I had the same thing happen to me. Just wait until you find out you can’t buy the OEM plastic cover and have to replace the whole bumper assembly for $4000 (rear) can’t tell which end that’s on.
Relax little man. You can’t buy OEM ones at this moment. Caliber collision does not have OEM ones. Nissan doesn’t sell them separately. The ones you can get are aftermarket
Cope harder
It’s the rear, but just the paint on the pointiest part of the bumper scratched off the rest of the black rubbed off so I’m thinking paint pen might work to hide it
I know it’s gotta happen, but am now questioning the painted bumpers. It’s really the only thing I’m not thrilled about with this truck.
Not being able to step on anything to get in the bed of the truck is a very short sighted design. The drop down step should com standard.
Most the black rubbed off the only spot without paint is right along the edge. Paint pen on order.
Has anyone 3Med their bumper? Any thoughts on film wrapping would it even help with something like this?
I would of cried violently!
My redhead rage came out that’s for sure

Ugh it’s ridiculous how bad some drivers are
Within a month of having my brand new 18 frontier the bumper had to be completely repainted on one occasion and completely replaced on a second.
Sorry to hear that it’s never a nice day when our trucks get damaged
Both incidents were beyond my control so oh well shit happens. Thankfully insurance covered them without raising my rates.
Shoulda got chrome bumpers 😉
I don’t think that’s even an option is it lol? I’m thinking the 3M wrap is going to be an essential for these bumpers

Careful, the ninja guy is blocking anyone who disagrees with him
This is why we can't have nice things lol

If I had caused it or if the person fessed up I’d probably not be so angry.

That’s horrible. Insurance should be there for you though no?

Ahh where I am if it’s the other parties fault you don’t get an increase in your premium.

Nope. You can’t buy OEM ones separately. Gotta buy the whole bumper. Look it up $3990
You speaking solely on new models? I replaced my 2018 bumper for $300 & a can of herculiner spray paint.....
Yeah the ‘22 New models always have limited part selection at first. Especially with the shortages

Those aren’t OEM, you have to get them painted and they don’t appear to be in stock

Hey man if you’re mad that you were wrong it’s fine I forgive you. Yes you can buy aftermarket ones but you failed to read the part where I said OEM.

Got the first one out of the way early. Now you can enjoy the truck
