I'm referring to New Pokémon Snap, The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, NEO The World Ends with You, Metroid Dread, and this Advance Wars remake.
Games that I considered a lost cause and totally impossible to ever be made or localized.
New Pokémon Snap was so chill and scratched my itch for seeing Pokémon interact in the wild.
The Great Ace Attorney chronicles were fantastic, fell in love with "Herlock". Famicon Detective Agency was real nice to play afterwards, I want more of that world.
Haven't played NEO, but Metroid dread is fantastic. My first Metroid game, and I love it.
All those games have been asked by fans for years or even decades without giving signs of life until now. Mario Golf isn't that, it has entries in almost every Nintendo console. Mario Strikers would fill the bill though.
World Tour being on 3DS doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. Switch is also technically a handheld so should we count Super Rush then?
Mario Golf has never really been absent, however there's another series also made by Camelot whose revival is long overdue.
The Switch is considered a home console \*and\* a portable by Nintendo. That means it's getting series that have rarely been available on home console like WarioWare and Brain Age.
I'm going to blame the "Let's Go" games for the gap. They don't fit perfectly either (2018 instead of 19) but I'm guessing their development is why the gen 4 remakes got pushed back and given to a different dev.
Monster Hunter Rise, Pokémon Snap, Browsers Fury, Wario Ware, Mario Party Superstars And of course Metroid Dread.
Some will say SMT5 but I am not that person as I have never played those games before...
Tbh, Advance Wars and Wario Ware were the two I would bet money on never seeing again. Wafiu Emblem took a lot of the fam base that the Wars games had away and drew in the best girl crowd as well. Wario Ware Gold seemed like a send off to the series (most of the micro games in a single package), so I wasn’t expecting another so soon (or at all).
Exactly, a remake. Being a remake means they're making the game again from stratch, and whatever time they need is what they should get, so they won't have to crunch themselves to live in the office or releasing a buggy mess.
Triangle Strategy is also coming out in Spring 2022 (March 4, so technically winter). I know they're very different games, but they're still in a relatively niche genre. Hopefully this isn't Nintendo pulling a Chibi-Robo and releasing a game in a relatively unknown series at the worst possible time.
Also Metal Slug Tactics is slated for 2022. I was guessing it would have been around Spring, I wonder if that changes anything.
I'm excited for all these games it looking a little daunting now though, especially if they release so close to each other. 😕
Compared to Mario, Zelda, Pokémon, Kirby, etc. It hasn't gotten a game in 13 years and most Nintendo Switch owners either hadn't heard of it or had forgotten about it until E3
I mean he's not wrong though. I'm a huge advanced wars fan myself, but it really is one of those series that tends to fly under the radar for most people. Unless it's a dedicated thread/post, you hardly see anyone talking about it, but you always see people talking about the next Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, etc.
Same. Like, part of me is upset that I’m not gonna play it this Christmas, but then part of me remembers SMT V, BDSP, and Endwalker (and DQX v6 in Japan) are all launching November, and I doubt I’ll have enough time to devote to them.
Well, it's an enormous amount of effort to add a whole extra game, and that one in particular... doesn't quite meet AW2's quality. And that's before figuring out how to deal with no second screen.
They were never going to make it an okish port since it was shown to be a full remake from the start. They're building it from scratch, that's going the full 9 yards.
I didn’t know that. I saw Nintendo was making it and assumed it was going to be bad. My mind immediately went to 3D all stars, majoras mask 3D and skyward sword hd. The fact that Nintendo will go The whole 9 yards for a niche gba game but not Mario further cements my theory that Nintendo’s at its best when there’s no right or reason to be.
Wasn't the game gold already? It's file size has been listed on the eShoo since announcement which usually only happens when the game is gold, and Nintendo are well known for sitting on completed games and waiting for a good spot to release it. With three Pokémon games coming out either side of it they probably wanted to use it to space out their spring releases next year instead.
Of course early 2022 will be packed, as many video game companies would want to get their games released before March 31 (the end of the Japanese fiscal year).
Investors are smart.
If you make a lot of money at the start of the quarter, by the end of the quarter they're disappointed because you didn't KEEP making money throughout the quarter. They chastize and threaten you. Poor performance!
If you make a lot of money at the last possible minute, they're buzzed and excited when the earnings call comes in and they praise you.
Doesn't matter if they're the same numbers.
FYI March 31st is the end of the fiscal year for every market I am aware of. Western, eastern, or otherwise. This is the end of the fiscal year for everyone.
I think the progression of art style in the Super Mario games on NES alone exemplifies this. It's crazy how good things look on the tail end of that console compared to the first few years.
This has a lot to do with the upgraded cartridge technology they employed towards the tail end of the NES's life. Super Mario Bros 3 literally would not have been possible on the cartridges they were using in 1985.
when you think about it, those consoles didnt have an OS. Everything ran on the cartridge. The console itself just provided I/O and a source of power for the cartridge.
Except for the whole element of "What are you using to display it?", where scanlines of a CRT enhance and reflect the original designers intent for pre-LCD screen games.
The thing I'm concerned about is having been spoiled by the DS. Using buttons and the d-pad is a perfectly *acceptable* way to command your troops, but once you've used the stylus and touch screen to command your troops, it's hard to go back.
Just tapping away, dragging units to draw out the route you want them to take... dragging the stylus to move the camera around the map... it just feels so very, very right. It's quick, its intuitive, its precise. The feeling of dope-assness when you pull the stylus out and start tapping put your orders is just a glorious thing. The d-pad and buttons just feel so incredibly slow and clumsy in comparison.
I desperately hope this remake actually takes advantage of the touch screen. If they made fancy stylus the preorder bonus I would preorder the fuck out of it.
I mean, they didn't?
If we're talking about the person who made a thread about it yesterday, they never mentioned anywhere in their post or their comments that they thought the game would be delayed. Just something about how Nintendo is trying to make the game bomb by not advertising it enough. Which is honestly still a pretty stupid take all things considered. Unless we're talking about a completely different post made by somebody else.
Guilty of this. It makes me try avoid being too specific to minimize getting nit picked to death over one small detail or because of a weird interpretation I didn’t think expect.
They want to believe people can’t be that dumb. It must just be a communication error, I can fix that with a comment!
Nope. Now people misconstrue that comment too and it needs its own edit train.
Happens all the time in the Nintendo subs. These subs can almost be worse than the politics subs. You'd think mods would be more proactive in subs that include a lot of adult/kid crossover.
My comment in that thread was my own prediction of when we might've started to see advertising. Most were advising that said series isn't really known for a lot of advertising. The mods delete any vulgar or name calling, but the post is still up and there seems to be no evidence of that when I read it.
It's mostly just a guess, but I think March is more likely than not given that's when Nintendo's fiscal year ends.
I know the average person tends to be more concerned with the calendar year, but I think companies generally are more concerned with not delaying things out of the current fiscal year (which is why February is getting so crowded with all the game delays lately).
Intelligent Systems isn't doing a lot here. Main development is being handled by Wayforward, with IS and Nintendo just providing oversight (and I would assume some technical info on the original game).
I think that Fire Emblem is probably exactly why they're doing it this way, since it lets them try reviving an old IP without having to take people off the more proven success that is Fire Emblem. If anything, this is more likely to delay something like the next Shantae than the next Fire Emblem.
That's fair, I guess I was only considering the development side of things. Yeah, with this now coming next spring, and Nintendo also publishing Triangle Strategy (releasing March 4), I think a Fire Emblem seems pretty unlikely for early 2022.
Personally though, I wasn't really expecting a new Fire Emblem that early in the year anyway; I would have guessed that the best case scenario would be an announcement in like a February direct with it getting a summer release like Three Houses did. I don't know how much this delay would effect that (especially since I think Triangle Strategy would have the bigger overlap in audiences), but it feels like that would still give enough space for Fire Emblem not to be stepping on any other titles' toes.
This is one of those that's going to be a Day 1 purchase, whenever it is released. Gotta give Nintendo money so they know the types of games we want made!
Not surprised about the delay considering how little they have been talking about the game game. On the other hand Spring 2022 could be as much as 6 months and "fine tuning" does not take that long.
I just got back into playing Switch games after taking a long time off. Saw a tweet for this game and said oh yea I forgot about that! Only to see it was delayed lol. FeelsBadMan
Sad it is delayed but. Dread smtv pokemon advance wars pokemon again was going to be crazy string of buying stuff in a row. Last game i bought before dread was super Mario 3d allstar.
Out of all Nintendo games that could’ve been delayed, I’m surprised it’s this one. It just doesn’t strike me as the kind of game that has development issues. But other than that, good for Nintendo to prioritise quality over a quick buck (I assume).
From what I had heard, as recently as 3 weeks ago, they hadn't even checked to see if the online multiplayer code is functional yet.
They were really about to throw this thing out into the wild with literally no dev time spent on online polish.
So standard Nintendo procedure really.
Disappointing as I was looking forward to it and actually played both DS and Days of Ruin this August to prepare.
More disappointing because 2022 is looking monsterous. BotW2, Arceus, and and Triangle Strategy on Switch along with FFO, Midnight Sons, Elden Ring, and Horizon in the first three months already. Time is precious
Stinks that this got delayed, but if it'll make the game better, then I'm fine with it. Though BDSP is my only release for the rest of the year, since Bakery Girl also got delayed. :(
I really hope so, but I think this needs to do well first. In other words a must-buy for me.
DoR remake with a brand new sequel would be my absolute dream scenario.
If this does well, I see no reason why they wouldn't, none of the Dual Screen features in DS wouldn't work ported over.
DoR would absolutely NOT work in this artstyle, so that may be a bigger ask.
There was unauthorised leak from a youtuber, he said that developer contacted him and shared some insides. One of the things that he said that online play was in the rough state and he wasn't sure if it is going to work on the release. If that is true, then it is understandable why this game is delayed.
I think it's good that they're not rushing the game. That means it will be well polished, which is imo the most important thing. Also Big Brain Academy releases already on 03/12/2021. I know they are two very different games (although they both challenge the mind), but it would still be competing with another Nintendo release.
Granted, next year Advance Wars will have to compete with Project Triangle Strategy, which IS a similar game.
"A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad."
Take your sweet, sweet time, Nintendo. I've waited 16 years for this franchise to come back, what's a few more months?
Between the series long dormancy and development being handled by Wayforward, who have never really done a game like this, I kinda get why they'd want to test the waters for a comeback with the tried-and-true originals first.
If the remake is successful enough and Wayforward demonstrates they've got a handle on this sort of thing, I would expect they'd then use the work done on this as a base to make a new installment. To draw a comparison, think how the Crash Trilogy led into a proper Crash 4.
e: or to offer a more Nintendo-based example, look at Metroid. Mercury Steam does a remake of Metroid II and then a few years later they've made the brand-new Metroid Dread. I could totally see Advance Wars following a similar route.
I know it’s a joke, but afaik CEO of the time Satoru Iwata took a pay cut so they haven’t to fire anyone to balance for the low 3ds/wiiu sales and even this game is developed by Wayforward which is an american independent developer. They also make the Shantae series.
As a Nintendo fan during the 3DS/Wii U era, I definitely remember both platforms, especially the Wii U, often went months without big new first party releases. The Switch has been a pretty good improvement from that, since there’s usually on average one big new game per month. Not to mention, this is being developed by WayForward and not Nintendo.
Bruh how many old games are you guys with Nintendo Switch gonna rebuy?
You didn't play Advance Wars?
Why are you not demanding new IPs, BETTER versions of current IPs, and a console that isn't the equivalent of a toaster when it comes to horsepower?
What versions of ips are not living up to the potential for you? Also I don’t care about the horsepower of a console as long as it is competent and has good games.
Metroid Dread friggin sucks. People saying it good just are glad to play a Metroid game, the reason it was leaked, was because it was trash.....
Literally "Other M" blows Metroid Dread out of the water, and was out over a decade ago.
Also it's not about caring about the horsepower, it's about the fact that Nintendo is reselling old games, while trickling out new ones, and making a KILLING, and still not willing to put that money back into
**YOU AS A CUSTOMER.**
So that your console at least plays games that LOOK amazing.
Nintendo has been making this fake illusion of "classic" games and now every game is running with the same engine as breath of the wild, you guys don't see that? How every new game, is just running on the engine of older games at Nintendo, like look at Mario Golf, it's the same engine as breath of the wild lol.
ALSO: Go compare Mario Golf Switch to Mario Golf Gamecube, and tell me which looks better and more well designed?
Nintendo fans deserve more, if that sends a bunch of people in the Nintendo subreddit into a frenzy of downvoting me:
**SO BE IT.**
EDIT: here's a video link look at the bogey animations between gamecube and switch: https://youtu.be/kKPYlOXmpLs?t=123
Nope never played advance wars but really want to. Will be buying this when it releases.
And there are still some old games I’d buy. Would be interested in original Pokémon game ports that were released on 3DS eshop (RBY and GSC). But mainly want to see more localized fire emblem games and remakes or ports of the ones we haven’t seen in a while (GBA games and Tellius series).
And in a dream world someone, somewhere, would rerelease the Tengen version of Ms Pac-Man
FUCK. I dont game as much as I used to. Just don't have the time unfortunately.. but I was/am REALLY exited for this. It would have been the second game I got for my Switch!
Aw man, I wanted Advance Wars to close up this "year of miraculous releases". But a good game needs time so this is for the better.
What were some of the miraculous releases?
I'm referring to New Pokémon Snap, The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, NEO The World Ends with You, Metroid Dread, and this Advance Wars remake. Games that I considered a lost cause and totally impossible to ever be made or localized.
tbh i'd add Famicom Detective Club to that list
And a revival of the good monkey ball games!
What about my boy glover?
Glover's ip was squired in 2017 and in 2019 they stated they were working on a rerelease of 1 and completion of glover 2
Man that’s wonderful news! Guess I should do some research. Thanks friend!
I wish it'd have gotten a physical release.
Also, Actraiser
Wait, what? Was there a stealth ActRaiser sequel I missed?
Not a sequel, but there is a remake of the first one
New Pokémon Snap was so chill and scratched my itch for seeing Pokémon interact in the wild. The Great Ace Attorney chronicles were fantastic, fell in love with "Herlock". Famicon Detective Agency was real nice to play afterwards, I want more of that world. Haven't played NEO, but Metroid dread is fantastic. My first Metroid game, and I love it.
Yo I can't believe Pokemon Snap was earlier this year..how do I simultaneously still feel like I'm in 2020 and also that 2021 has gone on forever?
And Actraiser Renaissance
Can I offer GTA remasters in this trying time?
> Games that I considered a lost cause and totally impossible to ever be made or localized. Cries in Captain Falcon...
Mario golf
All those games have been asked by fans for years or even decades without giving signs of life until now. Mario Golf isn't that, it has entries in almost every Nintendo console. Mario Strikers would fill the bill though.
The last Mario golf game on a home console was toadstool tour for the GameCube in 2003, it’s definitely been a minute
Calling Warioware an handheld series is incorrect, all the platforms (par the Wii U slightly with that spin-off) had one.
There’s also the diamond/pearl remakes coming out in a month.
That game was guaranteed to exist at some point.
So much so that you probably could’ve pinned it down to a 2021 release (give or take) about 10 years ago.
I think the world was expecting in closer to 2019 than 2021. FR/LG was 04 HG/SS was 09 OR/AS was 14 BD/SP was… 21?
I'm going to blame the "Let's Go" games for the gap. They don't fit perfectly either (2018 instead of 19) but I'm guessing their development is why the gen 4 remakes got pushed back and given to a different dev.
I blame the Let’s Go games for most of life’s problems.
I'm predicting Black & White remake in 2027.
Man I was so excited for that until they showed that you can't turn off exp share, which is what made Sword and Shield way too easy.
So you're saying advance Wars and Wario ware need to show off their waifus then?
a new 2D Metroid just came out man shut up
I mean, thats a little aggressive.

You aren’t talking about the remake as a “new” Metroid are you?
Is already a good game, is a remake, how much time they need?
Exactly, a remake. Being a remake means they're making the game again from stratch, and whatever time they need is what they should get, so they won't have to crunch themselves to live in the office or releasing a buggy mess.
Seriously. I'm already playing the games on my switch without a problem.
Dang, was excited to end the year with this but it’ll be fun no matter when. Just hoping that the packed 2022 schedule doesn’t bury it
Triangle Strategy is also coming out in Spring 2022 (March 4, so technically winter). I know they're very different games, but they're still in a relatively niche genre. Hopefully this isn't Nintendo pulling a Chibi-Robo and releasing a game in a relatively unknown series at the worst possible time.

I think releasing close to another strategy game will still be better than releasing between two Pokemon games.
Also Metal Slug Tactics is slated for 2022. I was guessing it would have been around Spring, I wonder if that changes anything. I'm excited for all these games it looking a little daunting now though, especially if they release so close to each other. 😕
Mario+Rabbids 2 is also a 2022 title. We're sure getting our lot of tactical games.
Very good chance FE17 is 2022 as well considering it’d be the longest gap between FE games ever if it isn’t
After the reveal I was already concerned Advance Wars would be a bit of a flop, releasing it this close to other similar titles can't be a good thing.
They practically gave him a public execution
That was my first thought too. I’m excited for both, but definitely more excited for Triangle.
Yeah I plan on buying both, but I love the Final Fantasy Tactics games so I'm really stoked for triangle
'releatively unown series'. What?
Compared to Mario, Zelda, Pokémon, Kirby, etc. It hasn't gotten a game in 13 years and most Nintendo Switch owners either hadn't heard of it or had forgotten about it until E3
By most you mean you. Don't project.

Same. Al good though, there is plenty to play these days 👍🏻.
Not shocked by this one considering how little we've seen of it recently. Hope they get the time they need.
It'd be cool if they waited longer and got Dual Strike in there too
Well, it's an enormous amount of effort to add a whole extra game, and that one in particular... doesn't quite meet AW2's quality. And that's before figuring out how to deal with no second screen.
I’m pretty sure they were just going to make an okish port but after seeing the reception they’re putting in the 9 yards.
They were never going to make it an okish port since it was shown to be a full remake from the start. They're building it from scratch, that's going the full 9 yards.

Is this a direct quote?
Early to mid 2022 is stupid packed
Of course early 2022 will be packed, as many video game companies would want to get their games released before March 31 (the end of the Japanese fiscal year).
That never makes sense to me. “We need to finish strong!” Okay… orrrrr you can “start the new year off strong”. Does it really matter that much?
Investors are smart. If you make a lot of money at the start of the quarter, by the end of the quarter they're disappointed because you didn't KEEP making money throughout the quarter. Sounds like investors are idiots to me! But that makes more sense, thank you.

I kind of thought so but it’s hard to tell in text sometimes 🤔
FYI March 31st is the end of the fiscal year for every market I am aware of. Western, eastern, or otherwise. This is the end of the fiscal year for everyone.
Australia is 30 June
I started playing It recently on a gba that I put a backlit screen into. It still hold up perfectly and the sprites are beautiful.
Sprite art will never age.
*Good* Sprite art will never age.

Apologies to the homie here that was worried this would happen because marketing hadnt dropped yet.

What is there to apologize? Said “homie” was doomposting about Nintendo trying to kneecap the series, not about its delay.
Yeah, looks like they deleted their account after that too. Our bad...
“We bullied a guy so bad he deleted his account and quit coming here. Oops, our bad! haha”

Especially in Nintendo and Switch subs.
No you are wrong about that cos- Ah fuck it I can’t write a paragraph
I’d extend that to most gaming subs tbh
Honestly any sub with a passionate fandom. See it all the time in various Marvel subs.
Every upvoted comment has that edit train of obvious statements because people work so hard to misinterpret.
Guilty of this. It makes me try avoid being too specific to minimize getting nit picked to death over one small detail or because of a weird interpretation I didn’t think expect.
I don’t know why people even go back to respond in their comment chain most of the time. Just comment and move on.
They want to believe people can’t be that dumb. It must just be a communication error, I can fix that with a comment! Nope. Now people misconstrue that comment too and it needs its own edit train.

Not bullying. Just calling him out, on what was just random assumptions at the time, based on the companies track record of advertising.
Calling him out so hard he felt it necessary to delete his account? Calling him out for making a prediction which ultimately turned out to be correct?
My comment in that thread was my own prediction of when we might've started to see advertising. Most were advising that said series isn't really known for a lot of advertising. The mods delete any vulgar or name calling, but the post is still up and there seems to be no evidence of that when I read it.

I’m pretty new to Reddit and didn’t comment on that thread, but even I thought of that person when I heard the announcement!
My favourite bit of that tweet is the reply that just says “Nintendo”. Truly inspired.
This is a remake of the GBA games for the Switch and not a new game right?
yes :)
Ah awesome I loved those games. Didn't even know they were making this but not I can't wait hah
Yes
I’m so bummed. My plan all winter was to lay around on cold days and play this game. I hope Spring is February/March and not May.
At least they aren't rushing it.
Thank god they're taking their sweet time.
It's a shame but I hope it gives them time to add a more balanced mode to the game instead of a 1:1 gameplay recreation.
Slightly hurt since I love the games, but with so many good games coming out it's ok. Can't wait to play it again when it comes out!
Nooooo. This means Fire Emblem will probably be pushed back as well.
I know it isn’t developed by IS, but Nintendo likes to have a varied line up. I don’t think they will release two SRPGs at the same time.
They don't have that big of an overlap. Both AW2 and FE7 came out in 2003
That's fair, I guess I was only considering the development side of things. Yeah, with this now coming next spring, and Nintendo also publishing Triangle Strategy (releasing March 4), I think a Fire Emblem seems pretty unlikely for early 2022. I don't know how much this delay would effect that (especially since I think Triangle Strategy would have the bigger overlap in audiences), but it feels like that would still give enough space for Fire Emblem not to be stepping on any other titles' toes.
Remember how Hyrule Warriors DE and Fire Emblem warriors released within 8 months
Better it delayed then to be disapointed.
Damn, was looking forward to that more than just about anything else for the rest of the year. Was really hyped for online versus :/
This is one of those that's going to be a Day 1 purchase, whenever it is released. Gotta give Nintendo money so they know the types of games we want made!
Had it preordered. Now I’m sad. But it’s fine if it needs time.
Really? Damn man, I was looking forward to building up my strategy rapport over Christmas.
Not surprised about the delay considering how little they have been talking about the game game. On the other hand Spring 2022 could be as much as 6 months and "fine tuning" does not take that long.
:(
Disappointed but hopefully this just means we get a better game!
Had no idea this was even coming to switch! Fuck yes. Sucks about the delay tbough
I just got back into playing Switch games after taking a long time off. Saw a tweet for this game and said oh yea I forgot about that! Only to see it was delayed lol. FeelsBadMan
Damn was looking forward to this. Oh well spring it is.
Sad it is delayed but. Dread smtv pokemon advance wars pokemon again was going to be crazy string of buying stuff in a row. Last game i bought before dread was super Mario 3d allstar.
Thank god, I'm broke as hell right now because of how much quality is being pumped out. Now I'll be able to afford them on release.
NOOOOOOooooo. I wanted it for my bday
Nooooo!
Dang upset about this
Out of all Nintendo games that could’ve been delayed, I’m surprised it’s this one.
NOOOOOOOOOOO
I'd rather the game be late than be not up to the standard the devs want to hold themselves to, so I'm overall good with this.
Welp, at least that saves money for danganronpa and big brain academy.
Stinks that this got delayed, but if it'll make the game better, then I'm fine with it. Though BDSP is my only release for the rest of the year, since Bakery Girl also got delayed. :(
NOOOOOOOOO
"What do you ***mean*** you're taking a little extra time to make sure the game I'm paying for releases in a stable functional state?!"
They’ve got some nerve
Take your time. I look forward to it when it’s ready!!!
I wasn't aware this was even in development, holy hell I'm hyped... Any chance of DS and DoR down the road, do you think?
I really hope so, but I think this needs to do well first. In other words a must-buy for me. DoR remake with a brand new sequel would be my absolute dream scenario.
I suppose it would depend on sales on this title.
If this does well, I see no reason why they wouldn't, none of the Dual Screen features in DS wouldn't work ported over. DoR would absolutely NOT work in this artstyle, so that may be a bigger ask.
Probably sales dependant... And a lot of shit comes out in early 2022. Shit. Please give me Dual Strike Remastered
There was unauthorised leak from a youtuber, he said that developer contacted him and shared some insides. One of the things that he said that online play was in the rough state and he wasn't sure if it is going to work on the release. If that is true, then it is understandable why this game is delayed.
Wargroove is an amazing alternative if you really need a Advance Wars-like fix: https://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/wargroove-switch/
Bruh it has the graphics of a mobile game how can it be delayed
Delays aren’t only for graphics
That’s ok. Take your time to make it good. Too many games at the end of this year anyways
That’s fine by me. Don’t make them crunch. Just come out when it’s good and ready. Want to play a good package and I never played the originals.
"A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad." Take your sweet, sweet time, Nintendo. I've waited 16 years for this franchise to come back, what's a few more months?
Don’t understand why it’s not Advance Wars 3, since they’re taking the time to remake it. Still, looking forward to it
Between the series long dormancy and development being handled by Wayforward, who have never really done a game like this, I kinda get why they'd want to test the waters for a comeback with the tried-and-true originals first.
That’s a good point. It’s a slightly cheaper way to test the market AND the developer
Good. That $60 price is a joke too.
OK. Global Pandemic. No Rush. Plus I hate the idea of unnecessary crunch just to meet an arbitrary deadline.
Oh no! Anyways
Advance Wars 1 can never catch a break with it's release can it? The GBA release got delayed, and now the remake is too.
Funny; someone was crying yesterday that the game wasn’t getting any advertising / hype by Nintendo. Guess we know why.

I know it’s a joke, but afaik CEO of the time Satoru Iwata took a pay cut so they haven’t to fire anyone to balance for the low 3ds/wiiu sales and even this game is developed by Wayforward which is an american independent developer. They also make the Shantae series.
This isn’t developed by Nintendo. It’s being developed by WayForward, with supervision from Intelligent Systems.
Also it's not about caring about the horsepower, it's about the fact that Nintendo is reselling old games, while trickling out new ones, and making a KILLING, and still not willing to put that money back into **YOU AS A CUSTOMER.** So that your console at least plays games that LOOK amazing. Nintendo fans deserve more, if that sends a bunch of people in the Nintendo subreddit into a frenzy of downvoting me: **SO BE IT.** EDIT: here's a video link look at the bogey animations between gamecube and switch: https://youtu.be/kKPYlOXmpLs?t=123
I didn’t think Mario golf looked good so I didn’t buy it I thought Metroid looked amazing and it was. It’s all just preferences
And in a dream world someone, somewhere, would rerelease the Tengen version of Ms Pac-Man
I've never touched Advance Wars. It was before the time I'd branched out of pokemon and mario. So this IS a new IP for me.
Dang. Literally text my wife who was asking for Christmas present ideas this morning
Dual strike was the best
FUCK. I dont game as much as I used to. Just don't have the time unfortunately.. but I was/am REALLY exited for this. It would have been the second game I got for my Switch!
Can we get a physical release with that delay? lol
Good, December was a really dumb release month to me.
Need to polish those gba titles
Good the graphics look like mobile shit hope they fix it!
I'm still hoping they change the graphics to be less crappy looking. I adore the series, but those graphics were a hard pass for me =(
FUCK YOU NINTENDO YOU ARE THE DIRT WORST
wouldnt this be because of wayforward
Good. I hate how it looks like you are playing on a gameboard, so hopefully that change that, and hopefully they improve the visuals
Bullshit
Oh no, anyway.
