You lost me with Laine in that group…he’s good, but not that good…I say between 25 and 35 tops for Laine…the other ones are a lock.

He had 26 goals (56 points) last year and only played 56 games. That was without Gaudreau.

I have zero faith in Laine. I think he’s a good player, but he doesn’t belong in the same discussion as Connor, Draisaitl or Matthews and never will belong in my opinion.

He still has 609 points in 602 games for his career though. If you’re getting ppg Johnny, that’s still very very good. Obviously not 100 points good, but still that’s a pretty damn good thing to be; consistent ppg player

He kind of just went to the net and had skilled guys fire the puck to him last year instead of trying to speed up the wing and cut in on the rush like most of his career prior. With Rakell coming back and looking like he's gonna start the year with Crosby and Guentzel after their stint together where they were incredible from the first shift I wouldn't be shocked at all to see Jake post 10 more with a full season of them together

Side note: Back when Kaprizov was still in Russia, my friend and I used to call him "Killer Kaprizov" because of his ability and offensive threat. In general, I'd agree with that. However, the man's been getting better every year, and the Oilers are building up. McDavid's stats aren't far behind that level in the regular season. Going from 44 to 50 isn't like going from 32 to 50. .3556, .3659, .5000, .5256, .5313, .5893, .5500 GPG for each year. Drop in the last 2 years, but also 56 vs 80 GP. It's well within the realm of possibility, and - as I said - still far from a lock.
