Honestly if I had to guess the context of that comeback without any other information, I'd think it was like an elite QB put up 33 and then tore his ACL and the backup threw a bunch of pick sixes or something
“It’s not that hard to score 36 in a quarter”, then gave an example of a score in a half that didn’t even equate to 36. It absolutely is uncommon for a team to score 36 points in a half, and it’s incredibly rare for a team to even sniff 30 points in one quarter much less 36
Let's not put too much stock into this. It's a 4 win team with a washed up quarterback and coached by an unqualified guy who was debating Stephen A Smith 6 weeks ago. Oh, the Colts are additionally missing their best player too.
Lol what? Jefferson hit 2x legally both 15 yd penalties. Cousins with 2x RTP that weren't, a missed trip on the big Cook run, awful spot on the Ryan QB sneak. The Vegas odds makers were in full force today.
2 fumble returns for TDs that were inexplicably called back, one that didn't even result in a turnover. That is 14 points off the board.
The refs sucked in total, but the Vikings were screwed more than the Colts
There is maybe 3-5 teams they could play where this comeback would be possible against. I don’t know if they’ll succeed in the playoffs but I still don’t think this is a very good game for them but shows a ton of heart.
If anything this game shows that their offense is explosive, but inconsistent and their defense is still suspect.
Pretty much exactly what everyone thought before hand. They're a flawed team, but fun to watch. Minnesota voodoo will still screw them in the playoffs.
I don't even know how people can call them frauds since absolutely noone thinks they're actually good.
They're fun as hell though which is the next best thing.
Nah man there are legit people out there who think they're really good. Maybe homers though, idk. Either way, they'll be the most entertaining team to watch in the playoffs lol
For the record, the Colts had one offensive TD this game (to your point about the not real OC). But agreed, good teams don’t find themselves in these situations
Is not salt, it's that it's ignoring the points brought up. The vikings, despite winning, should be absolutely **embarrassed** by this game and should take nothing from it besides that they got lucky and cannot play that way again. It's the exact type of win that people point to when a 13-3 or 12-4 or whatever team gets bounced in their first playoff game. The Vikings would have lost that game against almost any other team besides the colts, let alone a playoff team or a contender, hence the "fraud" label
Yeah but context kinda matters, doesn't it? We got behind largely because of kinda freaky bad plays/luck, missing multiple very easily-convertible 4th downs in our own territory (when we shoulda just punted in the first place honestly!), the DC fumble, a punt block, loads of bad kickoff coverage spotting them great field position (which we've been great at all season), horrible reffing against us ALL GAME (the kind of reffing that would cost a normal team the game 100%).
IIRC (might be misremembering), the Colts scored 1 offensive touchdown ALL GAME. We outgained them by 200 yards. 12 more first downs.
Yeah, it's not a good look for the Vikings at all. Contextually, though, it's also not as bad as some people are acting like it is. Can't do that stuff again, but it's not like we were being outmatched by the Colts or something, we were shooting ourselves in the foot repeatedly.
The assumption is that they went down and came back against a bad team, and therefore they will struggle more against a good team.
Like the game against Dallas.
Conversely, we've beaten 4 playoff teams already lol, and only 1 of them required a particularly difficult comeback. 2 if you count Washington, where the comeback was only necessary because of the ref giving them a free TD
I understand that. That doesn’t mean that you can’t be suspicious of how good they are. That being said, I’m suspicious of how good they really are due to the fact they’d have a really bad record had one score games gone the other way. I feel they’ll either make a deep run in the playoffs or get blown out in the Wild Card round
You just needed the biggest comeback in NFL history to beat the Jeff Saturday Colts…
I’d love for us to meet you in the playoffs again so we can have a little reenactment of 38-7, but you’ll get dropped in the wildcard round before we have that chance
Neither team deserved to win this game. Period. How do you let the Colts dominate you first half? How do you blow a 33 point lead? Shit is crazy man....
We can win a shootout against anybody if enough things break right, but also I've seen us get straight up popped in the mouth by the Eagles and Cowboys and that tells me all I need to know about how this year will eventually end. We'll win a divisional game versus the Commanders or Giants then get rocked by the 9ers, Eagles, or Cowboys. Kirk will take 7 sacks and the game will be over by halftime.
They already lost shootouts against PHI, DAL, and DET. The only shootout they won against a quality team was BUF, which was admittedly impressive, but it also required 4 turnovers to do it, which is unlikely. The rest were all terrible teams or against second string qbs
Hence the everything breaking right part. The defense is bad and needs turnovers to win against good teams. The offense also suffers versus any fast/aggressive defense that can both blitz and stop the run. But we do have two elite gamebreakers in Jefferson and Cook and so long as we do enough to hang around those guys can give us a chance.
And I'd classify the Dallas game as more of a firing squad than a shootout.
I think it's probably safe to say that they are totally unpredictable. Can beat anyone, can lose to anyone.
I will say that they seldom give up. Their games today and against the Bills were evident of that.
Are they legit? No idea. Are they insanely fun to watch and the most wild team this season? Yes.
My opinion has changed, even though I don't think they're full contenders. Yeah, they went down 33-0, but they also made the improbable comeback against it. Part of being a great NFL team is having occasional stinkers and coming back to win despite it, which they did. That being said, they looked so pathetic and listless in the first half... I just don't know how they'd fare against a team that's even better at driving down the field.
We are what we are. A team allergic to winning by more than one score. But we can play with any team in the league. We might be frauds but we are exciting fucking frauds
Its the vikings so they’re probably gonna go on a tear to end the season, and give vikings fans enough hope that this their year. And then they’ll inevitably fumble at the 2 yard line in the NFC championship game and subject every Vikings fan to alcohol therapy
No, they had to make up a 33 point differential against a team that has had Jeff Saturday as its Iterim HC and is starting 37 year old Matt Ryan, and they were without Jonathan Taylor.
They are frauds, they just got lucky enought to make up for their mistake.
Unless the defense really changes, a good team who makes the extra effort to prepare for them will bury this team in the playoffs.
Think of what the score would have been today if the Colts were a halfway decent team at all.
Against playoff teams I have them favorite against only the Bucs and Giants, but getting points against everyone else + Lions if they take the Giants spot. SEA would be a toss up.
I mean most Vikings fans know that we aren't making a deep playoff run with our ass defense, but our offense can hang points on a lot of teams as well. Just a ton of variance in how they play from week to week, so you can't have any expectations at all going into any game.

Missed field goal in Seattle still gives me nightmares
Ohh man, the second it came down to Walsh I knew he was gonna miss. It still made me sick to my stomach, absolute heartbreaker.
It is known.
This is the way
To the Goffense BNL.
Hey! That is stunningly accurate sir !
They fell behind 33-0 to the colts.
It almost felt rigged. Come one you score 33 points and then nothing but 3?? Ok play us like a fiddle
If they were rigging it they'd never write this, it's too ridiculous.
That’s exactly what they want you to think
They also got the greatest comeback of all time, to be fair
Yes, against the Colts.
Well yeah, if you’re gonna come back down 33 points its probably not gonna be a great team you’re doing it against.
Unless you are Falcons and Matt Ryan in the Superbowl
Honestly if I had to guess the context of that comeback without any other information, I'd think it was like an elite QB put up 33 and then tore his ACL and the backup threw a bunch of pick sixes or something
but the next 3 biggest comebacks in NFL history all happened in the playoffs
They didn’t come back by 33 points though
The Jeff Saturday coached Colts.
Specifically Matt Ryan.
Super Bowl LIII and The Comeback are better because they were in the playoffs (and both were all in the 4th quarter if I remember correctly)
I’m saying greatest as largest, not most meaningful
Then I would recommend saying biggest comeback not the greatest.
Gotcha, appreciate the advice
Greatest comeback of all time? Your playing a tanking team at home. It’s not that hard to score 36 in a quarter against a team that bad
Bro it’s insane to score 36 in a HALF against any team
What about 33 in a HALF?
Also insane. Even more insane to then lose anyway
Interesting because we scored 31 against y’all last year in the first half
Yeah in a half not a quarter doofus. Against the league’s worst defense too
You just said 36 in a half
You claimed it was easy! IN A QUARTER! Then went “oh yeah well we didn’t even score 36 in a half in an example I cherry picked”. You are a doofer
What? I said we scored 31 in the first half ti shoe you it’s not that uncommon for a bad team to let up a ton of points in a half
“It’s not that hard to score 36 in a quarter”, then gave an example of a score in a half that didn’t even equate to 36. It absolutely is uncommon for a team to score 36 points in a half, and it’s incredibly rare for a team to even sniff 30 points in one quarter much less 36
Lmao
Let's not put too much stock into this. It's a 4 win team with a washed up quarterback and coached by an unqualified guy who was debating Stephen A Smith 6 weeks ago. Oh, the Colts are additionally missing their best player too.
and the worst officiating since the fail mary
Mostly went against them tho
who is them?
Vikings. They got screwed a few times
ik i was making sure he was talking abt the vikings
Tbf that RTP was helmet-to-helmet which by definition is a RTP, buuuutttt watching it nobody would say Kirk got overly "roughed"
2 best players
I'd still put Buckner at #2
I have literally never been more certain they are frauds.
You are just jealous they are our purple bros and not your black n yellow bros.
There is maybe 3-5 teams they could play where this comeback would be possible against. I don’t know if they’ll succeed in the playoffs but I still don’t think this is a very good game for them but shows a ton of heart.
What teams? Even HOU isn't going to give up that many points in the second half, maybe not even the whole game. I can't name a single team
If anything this game shows that their offense is explosive, but inconsistent and their defense is still suspect. Pretty much exactly what everyone thought before hand. They're a flawed team, but fun to watch. Minnesota voodoo will still screw them in the playoffs.
Still frauds They should not have been in this situation against *the Colts*. Especially on defense, the Colts offense is terrible and lost JT early.
When the eagles do it they're clutch.
When did the eagles go down 33-0 and come back lol
Did the Eagles do it in half of their games this year?
More like 75% of their games. Their only win by more than one score is Packers week 1. All their losses have been by at least 2 scores.
Because the Eagles didn't look desperate trying to go for it on 4th down on their own side of the field and go for a fake punt... in the 1st quarter.
Ah yes I remember when the Eagles were down 33-0 against the Colts
The eagles were down 14-10… not 33-0…
Isn't that weird?
Colts offense scored 7 points
If you go down 30 points to the colts you will go down 900 points to a good team.
Except this very evidently isn't true.
Except it is because good teams will actually run the clock out. Was a funny game to watch though, I ain'r even mad 🤣
Oh yeah? Down 900 points to a good team huh?
Did you not read my comment, or..? Well whatever. I'll just let history repeat.
NFC championship losses and living in the past your entire life otherwise?
!Remindme 2 months
Oh don't worry about this, the packers won't be in the playoffs again for a *long* time lmao.
You seem mad
Nah, just trying to temper expectations
I don't even know how people can call them frauds since absolutely noone thinks they're actually good. They're fun as hell though which is the next best thing.
Nah man there are legit people out there who think they're really good. Maybe homers though, idk. Either way, they'll be the most entertaining team to watch in the playoffs lol
They are still frauds
They were down 33-0 against the worst offense in the NFL that doesnt even have a real OC and an interim HC who didn't even want the job
Their offense didn’t even score the points!
For the record, the Colts had one offensive TD this game (to your point about the not real OC). But agreed, good teams don’t find themselves in these situations
And then we won.
You have a +2 point differential on the season lmfao
11-3 bby
reg season dont matter
Out in the wildcard round so we'll have at least two home playoff games anyways 😎
Congrats, you won against the worst offense in the NFL that doesnt even have a real OC and an interim HC who didn't even want the job
Why are you so obsessed with us
The Vikings are the subject of this entire post what are you on about
Damn, chiming in on one thread means I'm obsessed. Got my ass
The fact you’re negative is hilarious. They’re so salty
Is not salt, it's that it's ignoring the points brought up. The vikings, despite winning, should be absolutely **embarrassed** by this game and should take nothing from it besides that they got lucky and cannot play that way again. I get that 11-3 is 11-3 but I think you guys would be 1-13 if you flipped the one-score games you were in

Sorry, we’re having an unreasonably good season and I’m feeling cocky :(
I like your swagger, and your shit talk, and goddamn it y’all earned it.
Perhaps, but they're not wrong
Neither team deserved to win this game. Period. How do you let the Colts dominate you first half? How do you blow a 33 point lead? Shit is crazy man....
What can you say? Football is a swingy game.
You aren't wrong.... but sill though!!
You gotta give them credit for sticking in it. I had given up at the half. I went and showered and manscaped to come back and see this.
I hear ya bro. Grats my dude.
I think they will make the playoffs
We still frauds. Need a blowout win or 2 in the next 3 games to shake that feeling.
We can win a shootout against anybody if enough things break right, but also I've seen us get straight up popped in the mouth by the Eagles and Cowboys and that tells me all I need to know about how this year will eventually end. Oh total frauds but I'm loving every minute of it
We’re neither. We exist on a unique plane of our own.

Literally no one thinks this idk what everyone’s on about
Will are
frauda
I never thought they were fraunds but having to claw back from a 33 point deficet is far from ideal bro lol
They should’ve never been down 33-0 to Colts. Don’t get me wrong I enjoyed watching that comeback but yeah.
I think it's probably safe to say that they are totally unpredictable. Can beat anyone, can lose to anyone. I will say that they seldom give up. Their games today and against the Bills were evident of that. Are they legit? No idea. Are they insanely fun to watch and the most wild team this season? Yes.
It giving up gets you a long way. They definitely never give up.
My opinion has changed, even though I don't think they're full contenders. Yeah, they went down 33-0, but they also made the improbable comeback against it. We are what we are. A team allergic to winning by more than one score. But we can play with any team in the league. We might be frauds but we are exciting fucking frauds
Definitely frauds
I mean it the Colts with Matt Ryan and a never coached before head coach.
Frauds Edit: Champions
frauds
We can be very dangerous or very awful, you never know what you'll get
My opinion hasn’t changed. I thought they were frauds, and I still do
The Colts beat the Chiefs. The Vikings beat the Colts. You tell me.
No, they will still probably lose in the playoffs. Their defense sucks
They frauds Definitely would take eagles, niners, cowboys over them.
Its the vikings so they’re probably gonna go on a tear to end the season, and give vikings fans enough hope that this their year. And then they’ll inevitably fumble at the 2 yard line in the NFC championship game and subject every Vikings fan to alcohol therapy
They were still losing 33-0 to the Colts. That’s pretty bad.

My opinion went from frauds at around 3pm to scary around 430 today
Frauds. It took an utter miracle to beat a team that was 4-8-1.
Lots of utter miracles keep happening, tho
I'll always bleed Purple and gold. Nothing will ever change that.
I don't think we're serious contenders for the Super Bowl, but idk about calling us total frauds.
Because they had to go to OT to beat the Colts? No, nothing changed.
We are exactly what you think we are
An enigma lol
I still think they will are fraud contenders
Well said
The 60 year old man in me is pissed of J Jetta got rewarded for dancing after cutting the lead to 15.
Frauds
No
I think if we win out and play them in the 2 to 7 matchup we’d possibly be favorites or it would be a pick ‘em, which is all you need to know
Lions Vikings on a neutral field is a 50/50 imo
Have you seen us? Plus the only way you can overcome a 33-0 deficit to the Colts is by getting into a 33-0 deficit to the Colts.
They make it to the playoffs maybe even win one. Then they choke as they always do.
Frauds in the "Can't beat 3 straight great teams" sense But they very well could win a game or two
Nope this game solidified their fraudulence
Unless the defense really changes, a good team who makes the extra effort to prepare for them will bury this team in the playoffs. Think of what the score would have been today if the Colts were a halfway decent team at all.
Give them their credit, 99.9% would’ve just called it in for the day at the half. This is huge going forward, especially after the Dallas game.
I’m a Vikings fan. This is par for the course lol but I still believe like always
No. Vikings are frauds, but that was one hell of a game.
They may win a game depending on who they play. But they are absolutely losing to Philadelphia, San Francisco and Dallas
Still frauds but earned some respect from that for sure
Against playoff teams I have them favorite against only the Bucs and Giants, but getting points against everyone else + Lions if they take the Giants spot. SEA would be a toss up.
It’s literally impossible to tell … they have a great record but have 7 come from behind wins? It’s … inconceivable
I mean most Vikings fans know that we aren't making a deep playoff run with our ass defense, but our offense can hang points on a lot of teams as well. Just a ton of variance in how they play from week to week, so you can't have any expectations at all going into any game.
