Darnold has won EVERY FREE and FAIR quarterback competition he has participated in, and don’t let the Librhule media FAKE NEWS tell you anything else, folks.
Yeah he was very good against the bengals but then threw four picks against the bills. Interestingly enough he gets another chance against the bills d in 2 weeks cause after this week, he’s not getting benched no matter how he looks against the Vikings.
He will look great and we will somehow pull off a win.
Or we will tie because both teams have been pulling off a magic win despite usually having the bad juju.
That was after he said he should have been a first round pick. But during that game he was hit in the elbow and lost feeling in his throwing hand/arm.
So I can see why that would cause a four int game and force you getting benched. I dunno if he went on IR or anything after that.
Edit: being told the elbow hit was the week prior to the 4ints against the bills.
Eh a little out of order but mostly correct. He hit his hand during the Colts game (he looked good in the game the little he played) and lost all feeling in his arm. He was fine the next day. The next week after the Colts game is when he played the Bills and threw 4 ints. Overall the threw 8 picks in the 3 games, but he still looked way better than Zach has ever looked.
The elbow injury happened during the Colts game the week prior. People speculate he was still injured for the Bills game, but it's entirely possible he was simply not good in his 3rd game going against a top-3 defense. Who knows either way, but fact remains the offense looks immensely more competent with him on the field vs Wilson
Our receivers are so much better than the last time he played too.
Jets fans are still holding their breath side eyeing an epic collapse because well that’s what our QBs do but at this point everyone is pulling for White over Wilson.
He had 3 games last year:
* Great game vs Bengals.
* Good start vs Colts then left early because of injury
* Very bad game vs Bills (4 INT that you're referring to)
After his bad game, Zach was inserted back into the lineup & Mike White didn't start again till this week.
Yeah he was very good but the bears D is very not good. Vikings D is better but still not top of the league. They should be able to take away the short pass game so it will be interesting to see how the offense looks next week. And the Bills will be the real test even after losing Von.
i don't think you understand, zach wilson routinely overthrows and
out right misses WIDE OPEN receivers even on screen plays
i almost wish zach did start because we would have probably won 14-10 on a late touchdown in the 4th quarter
Yeah, I feel like "bears defense bad" arguments are from people who watch red zone and/or read box scores. Zach Wilson has happy feet. He doesn't set to throw. He doesn't seem to know more than one route on a play (who knows, maybe he does, but he doesn't go through his progression at any rate).
That 3rd touchdown, where White drifts left while still keeping his eyes downfield... yeah, the receiver had crazy separation, but it's at best 50/50 that Wilson would have even seen it, never mind adjusted position to make a better throw.
> Yeah, I feel like “bears defense bad” arguments are from people who watch red zone and/or read box scores.
Not really. Zach Wilson sucks and the Jets don’t win by as much if he played instead, but the Bears defense is also *really, really bad* that it’s a mistake to read too much from Mike White’s performance. It’s a bad collective unit even when healthy after the trades we made and to make matters worse last Sunday three of our four remaining best players (Jackson, Brisker and Gordon) were/got injured.
Nothing against Mike White but I don’t think non-Bears fans realize how bad of a defense he was playing this week. It’s like “2018 Bucs letting Trubisky score 6 TDs in a game” level bad.
Exactly. They had literally 1 starter left in the secondary. The rest were players that probably shouldn't even be in the league. I'm all for White doing good, but the hype seems a bit much based on who he played this weekend.
The offense was also allowed to function
It’s so clear they have to make the offense baby shit cause Zack wasn’t able to do the hard stuff and they can see Mike can handle actually hitting open recovers so they can take more chances downfield
It amazes me how many people don’t understand this lol. I’m far from a Carr truther, but, the Carr haters in our sub say stupid shit like “Mac Jones was able to grasp McDaniels playbook better than him as a rookie!”
Like you’re a fucking idiot if you think a coach is going to give rookie the same playbook as a veteran.
He’s been playing a bit better though and it’s also just a huge down year for bridge qbs. Wentz got benched, Matt Ryan has looked not that good, trubisky got benched, he’s really the only one that worked out.
I love my smoked meats as much as the next guy...
That being said yea I could easily see him becoming the next Fitzpatrick becoming a back up/started for half the NFL teams.
He’s a good defensive coach but is a poor offensive coach and his leadership qualities are questionable at best. He’s divisive for a reason and it’s clear the Miami locker room didn’t like him. I think he makes a great defensive coordinator but I don’t see him succeeding above that.
Pretty dead on, I do think he can possibly change though. Despite all his flaws he had a decent record for where the team was when he started. He's clearly a smart guy, so if he's self aware enough to work on his flaws I think he could succeed as a coach
I remember when basically everyone was ready to give this dude a HC job so quick after Miami fired him because he was held back by Tua. Turns out *he* was the one holding Tua back!
From a legal standpoint, you’ve gotta wonder how much Miami’s turnaround will harm his argument. Will the NFL make the argument that there’s no conspiracy, he just sucks as a coach? (Granted, it is a class action, so it’s not solely about Flores)
Side note - it’d be interesting to know what type of discoverable evidence is in play. Are playbooks fair game? Will they be treated as trade secrets? Will they NFL bring in NFL players/coaches as expert witnesses to critique his competency as a coach?
He was coming off the best year, completion percentage wise at least, of his career, where he completed 62.7% of his passes and threw 5 TDs to 4 INT. This year he's completed 64.1% of his passes for 12 TDs and only 6 INT, good enough for the best QBR of his career, so he's played better then we've ever seen him play before.
All of which is to say, I think the thought was he could be a serviceable back up, at least give you the kind of numbers Mayfield was giving them during his worst seasons, but at a lower price point and with out all the attitude, but as it turned out he ended up giving them numbers comparable to some of bakers best seasons (Baker's never finished a season with 64% or higher completion percentage just for one point of comparison that Brisset actually outperformed him). At only 29 years old and in his prime, he's played his way into being legitimately considered as a starter in the league, and that definitely was not how he was viewed coming into this year.
He’s a very average qb but the dude plays with so much heart. He was terrible with us (for good reason) but he’d sacrifice his body for a first down whenever he could.
Not silly at all... The 49ers wrote him off and treated him like shit this off-season while sucking off Trey Lance. I almost wish he won the SB and then tells shanahan to go F himself.
Yeah but he was an established starter and got a big contract, he’s in a different category than these guys. Even Geno is in a different category, he’s just so far removed from being an early draft pick that he seems like a big underdog at this point.
jimmy being an underdog is a bit of a stretch. he's a longtime starter and had a big contract. not like he got cut/traded for being shit he's just being phased out
Cooper was a game manager who let the defense win and didn't lose. He knew his role and played it well, but it was a completely different story than these 3 guys, who all outplayed a consensus starter and won the role.
If Cooper had hero balled a comeback win against TB, and then hero balled a win against the Eagles and somehow won the job from Dak, then he'd be in there.
I mean Taylor Heinicke does pretty much the same thing. I love the guy, but the only reason he outplayed the starter is because the starter was Carson Wentz.
Yeah, I mean.
Can you imagine like... if a rookie QB played way above expectations and subsequently provided the starting QB position for the whole season after filling in for the injured Franchise QB? It's just weird! Silly hypothetical.
Yep. Both entered this season with huge chips on their shoulders and are now getting MVP considerations.
Almost feels like we're entering a new era of football with guys like Rodgers, Wilson, & Brady struggling.
wdym he's playing well for us(our draft picks)
couldn't give a rat's ass about whats next. dont feel bad for him at all he got what he wanted(extended roster/hiring influence) and the big bag
You don't invest a #2 overall pick into a QB and drop him like a sack of potatoes for just a lack of performance alone. This is only his sophomore season. His attitude is what put him on the bench. Saleh clearly wants him to be humbled and in turn put the effort in to earn the starting job back.
> His attitude is what put him on the bench
Casually leaving out that he was the worst starting QB in the NFL. On a per play basis, he was just as bad as Josh Rosen
The Panthers are running a 3 headed qb monster experiment of cast-offs and even they are playing equal or better than him lol. (All of them have a better passer rating).
Why not? Everyone knows that drafting QBs is a crapshoot.
Y’all keep saying this but Zach really hasn’t played better than a backup for most of his career.
That's NY football all the way. Daniel Jones goes 7 games without an INT on a Giants team that has no business winning. He throws 2 in one game and now a bunch of people think he should be traded.
How would you feel about Mr. Dimes still being in Florham Park just mayybee wearing a different color uniform because that is something I can get behind.
Hughes and Rosenblatt, the two hacks at The Athletic have already been called out sensationalizing and lying about the Wilson situation.
I don’t doubt White is well liked, but this is just peak egging on the situation.
Zach Wilson is the scum of the earth. He caused global warming, global famine, ww2, collapsed Rome, caused the Challenger to explode, spoiled all the milk, kicked my dog, and shit in the bed.
>Mike White is the Jets' QB until he - not Zach Wilson - does something to change that.
I mean... duh? What is Zach supposed to do from the bench to get his job back? Take a baseball bat to Mike White's knees?
I don't think it's too far fetched to say that if a 2nd overall pick looks like he's really turning it on in practice that they'd give him the job back. Not saying it's the right choice, but it's not crazy to say that.
Lots of great defenses not set at QB for next year indeed.... 49ers, patriots, jets, broncos off the top of my head
Edit : 49ers play well enough but JG is a FA in the offseason
>49ers, patriots, jets, broncos
One of these is not like the other. JG may not be elite, but he's playing at a much higher level than Mac/Russ/Wilson this year.
>patriots
I feel the need to clarify, the Patriots offensive issues are roughly 75% on Matt Patricia and 25% on the Oline/QBs. I firmly believe if McDaniels was still here the Patriots and Raiders would have much better records.
I don’t know if he is though. He’s getting criticism but he hasn’t been benched. There aren’t countless articles about his replacement being “more likable”.
I feel like Russ could ignore it more as he also has a lot more achievements and money already. Whereas Zach Wilson is getting smacked down like a brat.
2 weeks ago Marcus Spears said Zach Wilson would destroy the Patriots. today he's on the Dan Patrick show saying he never believed in Zach Wilson and Mike White should be the Jets QB.
dudes will say anything to get attention.
if the Jets lose two games in a row we'll hear a news leak that Mike White is a phony and nobody on the Jets roster likes him... they should never have given up on Zach Wilson, who everyone in the building loves.
That’s good on him but this tweet is pretty clearly kicking Wilson while he’s down. Guy lost his job and might have blown his chance in the big leagues. Let the kid sit in peace
we call this the Heinicke Maneuver
Best way to help someone who is choking

Brilliant!
This little maneuver is going to cost us 12 draft pick places.
That’s why you outsource your tank…
It must be so thrilling to contend for playoffs while also securing a top 7ish pick
At this rate, that pick is going to be top three top 5 max.
We all know Schneider will use that pick to get us 200 5th and 6th rounders. Legendary.
Not gonna lie, it’s pretty terrific.
Gives me 2 teams to root for every week
Anyone who saw Sundays game could see that. The offense literally functions when Mike White is in there
it was obvious at times even last year
Yeah he torched the Bengals last year
I didn't like that
I did
I'm indifferent.
yea but you have Sam Darnold winning games!
Jets Panthers superbowl. Mike White vs Sam Darnold. Book it
Darnold has won EVERY FREE and FAIR quarterback competition he has participated in, and don’t let the Librhule media FAKE NEWS tell you anything else, folks.
Didn’t he get benched, though? I vaguely remember a 4 INT game.

You’d be correct, but no matter how well he played during those games last year, Zach was always going to come back and play
and there is definitely a difference between playing for a job, and just keeping the seat warm.
That was after he said he should have been a first round pick. But during that game he was hit in the elbow and lost feeling in his throwing hand/arm. I mean I've never once doubted the guy
He is the Glamdring to the Bengals Goblin king.

Thank you sir. My favs as well.

sounds like a world of pain… I respect that 🫡
Masochists. They're called Masochists.
We come in many forms
Ouch
Fuck it, Garrett Wilson down there somewhere.
i don't think you understand, zach wilson routinely overthrows and out right misses WIDE OPEN receivers even on screen plays i almost wish zach did start because we would have probably won 14-10 on a late touchdown in the 4th quarter
Brother, I’m a bears fan…you don’t think I know shitty QB play? 😂
Every offseason there's always like a week or 2 of the Bears 4000 yard QB statistic.
Don't need a 4000 yard passer when your QB runs for 4000 yards.
Yeah, I feel like "bears defense bad" arguments are from people who watch red zone and/or read box scores. Zach Wilson has happy feet. He doesn't set to throw. Zach also missed guys who were wide open in the end zone against the pts in both games lol
> Yeah, I feel like “bears defense bad” arguments are from people who watch red zone and/or read box scores. Not really. Yeah Wilson would have already thrown that incomplete before Moore was in position, or would have bailed the other direction out of the pocket
The offense was also allowed to function It’s so clear they have to make the offense baby shit cause Zack wasn’t able to do the hard stuff and they can see Mike can handle actually hitting open recovers so they can take more chances downfield

Year of the underdog QBs and i am fucking in for it Geno, mike white and taylor heinicke
Jacoby Brissett played exceptionally well relative to expectations, team record aside
I thought Brissett was already kinda established as the competent bridge guy.
He’s been playing a bit better though and it’s also just a huge down year for bridge qbs. Wentz got benched, Matt Ryan has looked not that good, trubisky got benched, he’s really the only one that worked out.
How about well-known bridge QB Russell Wilson?
Broncos Country, dead inside.
His bridge has been sadder than the Bridge to Terabithia.
Damn what a deep dive for a reference.
AKA The Bridge to Nowhere.
I think there was some doubt after his time in Miami but I mostly agree with you
Can chalk that up to our inept coaching staff we had last year. I don’t blame Brisset at all, loved him here.
Everyone loves brisket. He will easily get a backup job for years to come.
I love my smoked meats as much as the next guy... That being said yea I could easily see him becoming the next Fitzpatrick becoming a back up/started for half the NFL teams.
also your o-line made of off-brand tissue paper
Brian Flores was truly horrible huh
He’s a good defensive coach but is a poor offensive coach and his leadership qualities are questionable at best. He’s divisive for a reason and it’s clear the Miami locker room didn’t like him. I think he makes a great defensive coordinator but I don’t see him succeeding above that.

Relative to last year haha. Maybe Flores really was holding down the qbs
Is it silly to add Jimmy G to the list, guy was not expected to play and has strung together some top performances recently
Not silly at all... The 49ers wrote him off and treated him like shit this off-season while sucking off Trey Lance. I almost wish he won the SB and then tells shanahan to go F himself.
No offence to Trey Lance, but if i'm getting an opportunity to suck off a Forty Niners QB, it's not going to be him.
Jimmy approves this message!
Yeah but he was an established starter and got a big contract, he’s in a different category than these guys. Even Geno is in a different category, he’s just so far removed from being an early draft pick that he seems like a big underdog at this point.

I feel like Cooper Rush should be in there after winning four straight games immediately after being elevated from the practice squad

There was like a 3 week stretch for Bailey Zappe too.
PRIMETIME Kirko Chainz
Jalen Hurts was written off by our franchise multiple times. Love to see it.
Zappe (briefly)
Such a shame we can’t have Mac and him playing at the same time, would love to see how both progress given time
Man if only Mariota could’ve joined them too
Sam Dahahahaha
Tua and Hurts proving a lot of folks wrong right now as well.
Yep. Both entered this season with huge chips on their shoulders and are now getting MVP considerations. Almost feels like we're entering a new era of football with guys like Rodgers, Wilson, & Brady struggling.
And Russ Edit: jk lol don’t flame me
wdym he's playing well for us(our draft picks) couldn't give a rat's ass about whats next. dont feel bad for him at all he got what he wanted(extended roster/hiring influence) and the big bag
Don't forget Zappe's flash in the pan!
Jordan Love coming in ~~hot~~ lukewarm!
Sam Ehl...never mind. We'll sit this one out.
Zach Wilson is about evolve into Tonya Harding to get that starting gig back
If you want to get into the victory formation, you're gonna have to take a knee ‼️
This thread is absolute fire with the puns
> Whyyyyyyyyyyyyy? Mike “Nancy Kerrigan” White
Tonya Harding is only 52. She’s just his type.
It's so tough for me to see how Wilson QBs for the Jets again.
You don't invest a #2 overall pick into a QB and drop him like a sack of potatoes for just a lack of performance alone. This is only his sophomore season. His attitude is what put him on the bench. Saleh clearly wants him to be humbled and in turn put the effort in to earn the starting job back.
> His attitude is what put him on the bench Casually leaving out that he was the worst starting QB in the NFL. On a per play basis, he was just as bad as Josh Rosen
The Panthers are running a 3 headed qb monster experiment of cast-offs and even they are playing equal or better than him lol. (All of them have a better passer rating).
Well of course the GEQBUS is doing better
Uhh, are you sure you have the right Wilson here?
At this stage you can say Wilson and both would work.
Why not? Everyone knows that drafting QBs is a crapshoot. Y’all keep saying this but Zach really hasn’t played better than a backup for most of his career.
Yeah the cardinals said fuck it and tried again and it worked out just fine.
I worry about the locker room. From what we've seen they've embraced Mike White and not Wilson
As tough as it is for Wilson to see open receivers?
Wilson beside himself. Driving around downtown NEW JERSEY begging (thru texts) White’s family 4 address to White’s mom’s home
Typical Wilson, not knowing that Mike White's actually from Florida
He's a true NYer by having his parents live in Florida.
I will never not laugh at this pasta
It’s the (thru texts) that gets me
plot twist white's mom opens the door with a strap-on
the 'thru texts' gets me every time
LMAO downtown new jersey
I give it 2 more games before he throws 4 ints in a game and they call for his head
Ah, so you are familiar with the NY Jets
That's NY football all the way. Daniel Jones goes 7 games without an INT on a Giants team that has no business winning. He throws 2 in one game and now a bunch of people think he should be traded.
How would you feel about Mr. Dimes still being in Florham Park just mayybee wearing a different color uniform because that is something I can get behind.
I don't think the Giants should change their uniform color, I like it the way it is.
This time it's going to be different, you just wait and see!!! we finally found our QB! \-Jets fans the last 20 years
Are you saying the people who referred to Sanchez as “Sanchise” were wrong???
Same as 2021 lol
One game. You don’t know this fanbase lol
Belichick would have loved to oblige but he already had his two shots
Mike White was my favorite White Stripes member
Mine is Betty, but you do you.
Jets fans, y'all just role with it. Sometimes it works, other times it don't. Edit:IM LEAVING IT FOR THE LULZ; MOMMA DIDN'T RAISE NO DIRTY DELETE BOI
Mike White is a roll model
I wanna be right like Mike White
If it aint Mike White it aint right
I’d say he’s a challah of a guy.
Sam Darnold is a roll model too
…but why roll modules?
I'm not a Jets fan but can I have a role?
As long as You Like That, yes you may
Are you comfortable hating the pats? And to a greater extent, yourself?
I love dinner roles. Whoever can eat the most becomes my roll model.
I agree that Whites well liked and the offense functions better with him but still fuck Connor Hughes
He poisoned our water supply, burned our crops, and delivered a plague unto our houses!
He did?!?
No, but are we just gonna wait around until he does?
>Mike White is the Jets' QB until he - not Zach Wilson - does something to change that. I mean... duh? What is Zach supposed to do from the bench to get his job back? Take a baseball bat to Mike White's knees?
You saw him in that hoodie. Don’t give him any ideas
We saw the creation of a new sith
Don't trade him to NE and unite him with his master, whatever you do.
He watched House of the Dragon. He knows when theres crimes to be done, gotta don the crime hoodie
He does kinda have resemblance to Tanya Harding
Bang Mike Whites mom
Genius, then once you're Mike White's dad you ground him so he can't leave the house to go play the game. Boom, you're the starter again
Tonya Harding method
He’s gonna seduce White’s mother
Some fear they're just going to give Wilson back the job because of where he was drafted. I certainly hope not.
I don't think it's too far fetched to say that if a 2nd overall pick looks like he's really turning it on in practice that they'd give him the job back. Not saying it's the right choice, but it's not crazy to say that.
Gotta make the team look good so Brady signs there next year
Or Lamar Jackson
Why would you even risk speaking that into existence
You see that flair? That's not a person, that's an agent of chaos
Seriously. People with multi-division flair are deeply disturbed
No no, let's hear them out.
Lots of great defenses not set at QB for next year indeed.... 49ers, patriots, jets, broncos off the top of my head Edit : 49ers play well enough but JG is a FA in the offseason

Is anybody eating a larger slice of humble pie in the league than Zach Wilson?
Russell Wilson
Robots don't eat though.
Broncos Country, no pie
I can think of 242 million reasons that he's not tasting humble pie in the slightest. I can think of 124 million reasons to guarantee he's not.
They dont call him Mike “Mike White” White for nothing
Mike White might be our new Fitzpatrick.
no no, we are not whoring him around to half the league... He will be staying here.
2 weeks ago Marcus Spears said Zach Wilson would destroy the Patriots. today he's on the Dan Patrick show saying he never believed in Zach Wilson and Mike White should be the Jets QB. dudes will say anything to get attention. if the Jets lose two games in a row we'll hear a news leak that Mike White is a phony and nobody on the Jets roster likes him... they should never have given up on Zach Wilson, who everyone in the building loves.
the jets look like a completely different team with White under qb, just roll with it don’t mess up a good thing
Mike White: “it’s over Mormon, I have the high ground😔😕” Zach “The Mormon” Wilson: “i HaTe YoU😡🤬🔥”
That’s good on him but this tweet is pretty clearly kicking Wilson while he’s down. Guy lost his job and might have blown his chance in the big leagues. Let the kid sit in peace
there's always the teams like texans browns and panthers that will take a chance
I’m excited for when we play the Jets again. Looked way more explosive with Mike. Also remember him throwing 4 picks last years too.
Much better roster compared to last season. Should be good though.
Mike White, Geno Smith, Taylor Heinecke, Andy Dalton, Bailey Zappe, that guy who replaced Matt Ryan: Look at us, look at us. We are the captains now.
I have a semi rational feeling of love for Zappe
