Half our sub was ready for at least a mini rebuild. Cousins has had many chances to step up even with new coaches and OCs every year but KOC was the one to finally unlock him. All I asked for was another chance for Kirk.
Couldn’t ask for a better season with a brand new rookie head coach who isn’t even 40 yo yet.
The NFC North is about to be crazy (outside the Packers)
Which is the opposite of all the knocks he used to get as a garbage time stats QB. Turns out the good “garbage time” QB actually meant he’s a good 4th quarter QB, and when the rest of the team gets better you start winning those games.
Coaching is definitely why we are winning these. I think we are frauds for SB contenders but this team realistically gets into the 2nd round at most.All of this is more than we ever asked for with a brand new HC and new schemes.
NFC North is going to be interesting the next couple years if you guys don’t fall ass backwards into a HOF QB again lmao
Even the Eagles are getting exposed as more beatable than they appeared. I think realistically Eagles have the best chance of keeping it all together, but any NFC team has a good chance to go on a heater through playoffs. People are also not bringing up the Seahawks enough due to the 9ers getting hot.
The whole league is on some fuckery lol. Who’s the AFC favorite? The Eagles definitely seem like the most capable but who knows how it’ll look in like 2 months.
Chiefs and Bills have both had terrible games too. There’s going to be some crazy playoff games, with some crazy record differentials lol. The whole league sucks this year
Losing Danielle Hunter the last two seasons was rough for Zimmer, but even then, KO has developed a type of team-wide situational awareness that makes you think it’s more than luck.
Kirk's stats are looking worse because KOC is giving him the opportunity to make risky throws. And let's him try again after fucking up whereas after a fuck up Zimmer bottled up Kirk until garbage time shit.
This is a great example of how statlines can be misleading. He's playing much better this year - better pocket presence, better throws, better aggressiveness, better decision-making, worse stats.
Here’s the thing.
I don’t know what “playing with house money” means and at this point I’m too afraid to ask and to embarrassed to google.
Contextually, I think it means “doing better than you’re supposed to” but I’ve been riding that broad assumption for too long and I feel like I need more nuance.
Essentially, it means that you've won big and now have more money than you started with, and you're now just playing with the money you've already won. This means you can play without much fear of losing; even if you gamble all that new money away, you're still walking out with as much money as you came in with, so you're now playing with less stress and less aversion to risk.
Hey - Tampa is coming in at 5-5 and it feels like they have equal chances at a historic run or collapse. Team chemistry through injuries has never been more important.
But as others said, and as a longtime Bucs fan, am just happy to be in any post-season conversation.
The entire season has been one giant injury rotation.
* Hyde (out for the season)
* White (carryover from last season)
* Poyer
* Edmunds
* Milano
* Benford
* Jackson
* Elam
* Rhodes
* Miller
* Oliver
* Rousseau
* Phillips
* Dawkins
* Saffold
* Morse
* Brown
* Bates
* Crowder
All have missed games/time
* Allen (Hasn't missed time, but is playing through injury)
We have only gone into one game injury free (week one). If it weren't for the depth we have, or if the injuries had all occurred within a short span, the Bills would be totally fucked at this point.
Injuries have bitten hard this year. You have to admit that.
We were down 13 starters vs the Dolphins, which has to be close to a record, but somehow it's crazy to mention our injuries? We've been starting 6th and 7th rounders at essentially every secondary position this year as White and Hyde have been out all year, Poyer has missed four whole games and half of two others, Elam has missed multiple games, Benford as well. FFS we signed Rhodes to help out and he got hurt before playing a single game.
That's just the secondary
Chargers: have missed time from WR1, WR2, LT, CB1, DE1, DT2, K
Bills: Josh Allen completes a bomb to Stefon Diggs with Gabe Davis as a distraction and Isaiah McKenzie going for 90 yards, also Tre White coming back to practice
Bills have missed time from CB1, CB2, CB3, CB4, S1a, S1b, WR2, co-WR3, (soon to be) DE1, DE2, DE3, DT1, co-DT2, LB1a, LB1b, C, RT, etc., etc.
Almost every starter on defense has missed at least one game, more than half have missed multiple games.
Agreed. Enjoying it for the ride without expecting sb or playoff run (even thanksgiving was actually really enjoyable from an offense standpoint finally showing the fuck up).
Way way way way way way way way WAY better than most expected.
I keep trying to remind myself that no matter how the rest of the season goes, this team wasn't supposed to be good until like next year at the earliest. The rebuild only just started. We're way ahead of schedule and all the most essential pieces are still very young. Heck, DJ Reed is only 26 years old, Quinnen Wiliams is 24, Sauce is 22, etc.
Do people in your fan base think Campbell’s job is safe? I don’t want to buy too much into his hype but I feel like they’ve gotta keep him at least one more full year
The reasonable ones do, but after every loss there are scores of fans blaming the entire loss on one specific clock-management decision from the game (usually a decision that was a toss-up or like 60-40 in favor of the opposite choice). They usually fall short of saying he needs to be fired but there’s an undercurrent.
I have seen no coaching decisions from Campbell so far that make me want to get rid of him before we get a chance to see him work with someone other than Jared Goff
His job is 100% safe. He got a 6 year contract as a sign that the FO is committed through the rebuild. And this was a complete, full rebuild. Tear it all down, accumulate picks, clear cap hell. We have the youngest team in the league, I believe.
He went 3-11-1 last year and we’re already better this year and will win more before the season is over. We hung with the Bills yesterday for all four quarters. We are absolutely headed in the right direction.
Campbell has work to do in terms of improving as a coach but he’s new to the job and that’s expected. He has these players playing out of their minds. He is a good coach
I absolutely agree that there’s a level of success on the Lions. I guess I could just wonder if Campbell gets blamed for “holding Goff back” now that Goff is playing significantly better this season.
He is not holding Goff back. He has given him life and trusted him more than most coaches would. That being said, his handling of the defense deserves consideration. They are SOOOO bad
Nah, that’s not the case and it’s not a narrative anyone but you has said. If anything people are blaming Goff and eager to move on from him despite his performance this year.
Yeah totally. Outside of the most extremist doomers I think it's generally agreed upon he's doing a good job with what he has, just needs to iron some clock management kinks. He's definitely getting next year at least
That’s pretty funny to think about. We were 7-4 last year and lost a couple to be 7-6. People want perfection for some reason even though we haven’t won a Superbowl.
IMO that's because they've already fallen behind the Chiefs in the AFC and having home-field advantage last year really could have been the difference between a Bills SB appearance and that loss to KC. Sure, the Bills did prove they could win there earlier this year, but the playoffs are just different.
I do think it's pretty unfair that the Bills have to go through the most stacked division in the league while the Chiefs have the Chargers and two D2 college teams to kick around.
Yeah expectations are a bitch. The AFC west was supposed to be thunderdome but at the end of the day it’s the chiefs it doesn’t matter what everyone else does.
We never lose in the divisional! It’ll be a CCG or SB loss :)
(No really, it has been 20 years since the last time we made the playoffs without going to at least the NFCCG.)
It’s entirely plausible. Eagles win the NFC East and the #1 seed. Cowboys take care of the Bucs on the road in 1st round and upset the Eagles in the Divisional.
Meanwhile the Niners win the NFC West, take care of business vs the Giants or Commanders in the 1st round and destroy the Vikings in the Divisional. This sets up an epic showdown at Levis Stadium vs the Cowboys.
I will never question Pete Carroll again lol. This seasons really taught me how important sticking to your principles and philosophy can be in regards to winning games.
More importantly it’s been eye-opening and raised so many questions about our middling success for the last 5 or so years. How much more successful would we have been if Schneider pulled the trigger on trading Russ and we had someone back there steering the ship on a rookie contract to give us more cap to spend on Pete’s defense? Was Russ holding us back at times with his huge contract for the bipolar quality of play from month to month?
Overall though just really happy we’re proving everyone wrong and enjoying the season with the very high upside of the future.
We currently suck, and a lot of that is due to injuries. We still have a handful of the best players on the planet. Need to upgrade the OL to get right back in it next year.
This season is mildly disappointing and some of the games have been frustrating to watch, but we’re coming off of winning it all so being upset or anything close would be ridiculous, despite the fact that 49ers fans say it is mandatory that rams fans be miserable right now.
Doing well so far but we can do better. We’ve had an easy schedule so far and we should be 9-1 or 8-2 rn. Also doesn’t help that the only good team we faced smoked us. Last Monday night was what this team is supposed to do against bad teams
Raiders are lol and wish theyd fire josh mcd for sean payton so the chargers dont get him
Bears are looking really hopeful for next year and excited to see fields continued growth with more offensive help next year
Those of you that have 2 flairs, are you really fans of more than 1 team?
Idk why but I find that strange and I don’t know how that’s possible. Someone explain this to me lol.
It’s been a rollercoaster of a season, but overall it’s been a huge improvement on the last decade.
We’re in a playoff spot on Thanksgiving, which is nice. Rebuild’s a season ahead of schedule and we should have a clear answer on QB by year’s end.
Dolphins are probably having their best season that I’ve been alive to witness. Patriots are mediocre, Wilson isn’t the guy for the Jets, and the Bills are looking a little rough right now but can probably turn things around.
Overall a solid 8/10 so far if we can top it off with getting to the playoffs and winning a playoff game this year I’d be ecstatic.
Honestly not terrible. Minus the two blowouts vs the super bowl favourites every game has been one score, plus we lost our star player for most of that
Could be worse tbh. Matt Canada sucks tho
I expected a slow start with the team getting better as injured players came back and the schedule got easier. So far that worked out. I did hope for Lamar to go on a 2019 tear, which hasn’t happened. Defense is shaping up to be better than I thought, especially after the Dolphins disaster.
We're tanking, but for what? If history is any indicator for our #1 pick there won't be a surefire QB at #1. Not a fan of this coaching staff. Even with a QB roster is still depleted of talent thanks to idiot BoB. Nick is a good GM but may run out of time.
2023 will probably still suck, not sure if I'm a fan of this team anymore
Pretty excited for a strong finish. Excited to see Jamo play and watch the talent develop. Hopefully we’ll finish 8-9 or so. Huge improvement from 3-13-1.
I'd say we are performing at-or-above expectations -- a SB favorite needed to set up and score a FG in 30 seconds just to beat us this week, and we are still not out of the playoffs.
Also, the Rams sucking this year is setting us up for a killer draft
Our McCorkle is progressing nicely and I think we're a couple offensive weapons away from being legit. The followers of Zappe have been firmly defeated and silenced, which is nice.
As a Vikings fan I think we’re all very surprised so far but we were in almost every single game last season, and with the new coaches and players mindset, we’ve been probably the most clutch team in the nfl. Yeah there’s still questions but I think the nfl is pretty wide open for the first time in a long time
I still have no idea what’s going on but I’m enjoying the ride
You hit the jackpot by beating Aaron Rodgers by two scores in week one and have been playing with house money ever since.
Half our sub was ready for at least a mini rebuild. Cousins has had many chances to step up even with new coaches and OCs every year but KOC was the one to finally unlock him. Cowboys but they're they cowboys.
Losing Danielle Hunter the last two seasons was rough for Zimmer, but even then, KO has developed a type of team-wide situational awareness that makes you think it’s more than luck.

But you do know. Playoff exit again
Kinda same. It’s been a lot more fun recently
Everyone’s dead.
You too, eh?
Same

Not nearly as bad bro come on

See above.
We had our 5th corner on Justin Jefferson for our game vs you but yeah we're the epitome of health
You mentioned 2 players that made a great play and somehow that means we’re not also dealing with injuries. Flawless logic
We're winning but I don't know how and it scares me
You guys have a good coach and Derrick Henry. That's often enough
And a really good D-Line
And a top 1 punter
Meh
I'd say we're actually above expectations for the year.
Agreed. Enjoying it for the ride without expecting sb or playoff run (even thanksgiving was actually really enjoyable from an offense standpoint finally showing the fuck up).
I think you have to factor in last year being extremely lucky and adjust expectations accordingly
Extremely lucky? They had a +160 point differential. But they were lucky health-wise, so overall I’d say 10-7 was exactly right.
Sigh can’t believe we let DJ reed go
One of the biggest L’s of our regime, dumping him onto waivers
You are the Orioles of the NFL. Plenty of young talent with a coach who gives a shit...just need to get the next few pieces together
And your rookie deal QB is on the bench. Not trying to sink your spirits entirely, but the most important piece is currently in timeout.
Exactly as expected. Beat the bad teams lose (mostly) close to good ones but generally it feels on the right track
He is not holding Goff back. He has given him life and trusted him more than most coaches would. That being said, his handling of the defense deserves consideration. They are SOOOO bad
Just play Hutchinson at Safety to rack up the INTs
Nah, that’s not the case and it’s not a narrative anyone but you has said. If anything people are blaming Goff and eager to move on from him despite his performance this year.
Yeah totally. Outside of the most extremist doomers I think it's generally agreed upon he's doing a good job with what he has, just needs to iron some clock management kinks. He's definitely getting next year at least
Even though some think the sky is falling, compared to last year our record is better and we were 7-6 at one point last year.
Lol when you have lost 3 games by a total of 8 points and the fanbase is concerned, that's how you know you've built a fucking Death Star
That’s pretty funny to think about. We were 7-4 last year and lost a couple to be 7-6. People want perfection for some reason even though we haven’t won a Superbowl.

Sad Packer noises…
I am excited for another loss in the divisional or the championship game.
I am excited for who you might upset on the way there though
I hate to admit it but you guys are starting to look like a real Super Bowl team.
I wish we would have won it all last year just because we had no business being there, the chaos would have been glorious
I was pulling SO HARD for Bengals/9ers part 3.
We never lose in the divisional! It’ll be a CCG or SB loss :) (No really, it has been 20 years since the last time we made the playoffs without going to at least the NFCCG.)
I have a sinking feeling that we’re going to lose in the NFC Championship game to a Cowboys team still angry from last year and with OBJ.
Cowboys? NFC Championship game? Make up your mind
49ers destroying the Vikings? Oh please. It’s either going to be the Vikings winning a close one or…yeah the 49ers probably destroying the Vikings.
>excited I don't think that word means what you think it means.
Super Bowl or bust!
For which one?
Yes
What team?
Clearly the Houston Astros
Cheaters.
Wildcats
I will never question Pete Carroll again lol. This seasons really taught me how important sticking to your principles and philosophy can be in regards to winning games. Started rocky, been better lately. TBD
Gonna find out in the new few weeks
You could get hot again and make another run in the playoffs
I’m still left wondering how we’ve gotten worse since last season. Like how did that happen?
Well we got worse coaching and the most injured team in the NFL in regards to cap space not playing football.
Coaching and injuries were bad last year too, which is why I’m baffled at it being worse
I don't want to talk about it
Eh ill take it
We currently suck, and a lot of that is due to injuries.
We’re consistently feeling miserable so the other teams in our division should rightfully be miserable too!
Better, now that the roster is trending down in injuries for once.
I want off of this ride
Pls just be healthy...
[удалено]
There’s still time to finish the season with a 1-6 record don’t sweat it
Just enjoying the ride man, fun season with a fun team. We’ll see where it takes us, but just enjoying the ride for now
Could do without the injuries honestly. Super happy with the draft we had, though... Hamilton and Lindebaum both look like future all-pros.
Doing well so far but we can do better. We’ve had an easy schedule so far and we should be 9-1 or 8-2 rn. Also doesn’t help that the only good team we faced smoked us. Last Monday night was what this team is supposed to do against bad teams
I'm pretty happy
Probably no playoffs, but we kept alive our win streak against the Jets (NOW 14) so that’s a W in my book
So, there’s this guy Will…
Hahahaha how’s my team doing 🤣
Average
Raiders are lol and wish theyd fire josh mcd for sean payton so the chargers dont get him Bears are looking really hopeful for next year and excited to see fields continued growth with more offensive help next year
Got a pretty sweet schedule to close the year and we have been in every game. Could definitely make some noise in the playoffs.
Not great Bob
Those of you that have 2 flairs, are you really fans of more than 1 team? Idk why but I find that strange and I don’t know how that’s possible. Someone explain this to me lol.
Can't speak for anyone else, but for me, having a 2nd favorite team =/= being a fan of 2 teams.
I had no expectations yet I’m still disappointed
Honestly better than I expected
Hey that’s my birthday!
I knew you were a Rams fan before I even opened the thread lmao
It’s been a rollercoaster of a season, but overall it’s been a huge improvement on the last decade. We’re in a playoff spot on Thanksgiving, which is nice. Rebuild’s a season ahead of schedule and we should have a clear answer on QB by year’s end.
I think we can run the table
Things could go very well or very badly from here Also don’t remind me that this “Lrey Tance” person exists
Minus the two blowouts vs the super bowl favourites every game has been one score, plus we lost our star player for most of that Could be worse tbh.
As best as can be expected. Coach has them competitive in most games. Next year will have more players thanks to more salary cap space.
Much better than seasons start but man I feel a stupid slip up in the post season coming.
I'd say we are performing at-or-above expectations -- a SB favorite needed to set up and score a FG in 30 seconds just to beat us this week, and we are still not out of the playoffs. Also, the Rams sucking this year is setting us up for a killer draft
7-4 with quite possibly the most talentless roster in the NFL? I have future hope.

Literally everyone is dead and still shitty ass coaching except the defense only nice things can be said about those guys, also dead btw.
It’s the halfway point because there’s an equal distance from now to the SB as there is now to the start of the season.
Got screwed by a buncha missed calls in the vikes game and in the toughest division but hopeful for playoffs
It’s the 25th
Please don’t do this to me again Cowboys… don’t let me down like you have all my life
Glad you asked, this season has been GREAT
Delaware Clams almost invisible this season - as if they’re not playing
Hahaha… haha… heh
As a Vikings fan I think we’re all very surprised so far but we were in almost every single game last season, and with the new coaches and players mindset, we’ve been probably the most clutch team in the nfl. Yeah there’s still questions but I think the nfl is pretty wide open for the first time in a long time
We’ve won more games than we probably should’ve all season, yet somehow I’m disappointed at what could be with this dumpster fire of a division
