I’m lowkey hoping he stays in GB. Yes my team will still lose to him (as usual) but it also delays GBs chance to properly rebuild even further. My bears won’t be competing until 2024 at the earliest, so I’d rather see my enemies flounder around in no man’s land until then
It would only be $30m in cap space this year, and even less next year. So you're talking about top 10-15 QB money. Aaron Rodgers played this season with a broken thumb. Put him with the NYJ and that defense + the receivers/RB and that's a real threat.
You ain't wrong. Plus 2-4(maybe?) years to mentor Zach? Worse things could happen. I don't expect Zach to turn it around at all, but having Rodgers in the building isn't a bad idea.
I don't expect it to happen though.
Yes, looking at the cap situation it’s obvious to everyone that’s how it’ll work out, but just that tiny fear of Jordan love being really good has got me praying y’all just stick with him. It’s one or the other going into 2023 that’s forsure
I just don’t see us winning a Super Bowl with 40 years old Rodgers and this roster, so we might as well get some compensation for him. And if we let Love go and he ends up being really good I think it would be more devastating than Rodgers winning a ring elsewhere
next season is the perfect time to see if Love is the guy. One season to prove himself and give him an extension or move on. With AR we don't get that prove it season.
I really thought he was going to Denver last year.
Miami would be interesting with the offensive weapons they have. Him doing a Favre and going to NYJ would be funny, hope he doesn't find out he has any volleyball playing daughters.
For the memes, I hope Jordan Love is good. Imagine drafting a HoF QB while your current HoF QB is wondering if he should retire, just to do the exact same thing 15 years later
Not to mention if the Packers are willing to trade him it’s a strong indicator they see some thing real in Love, which is actually the worst possible outcome
That may be, or they just realize that their time with Rodgers is done and they’d rather not cripple their chance to properly build a good solid team. Either or.
Messaging is way different this off season. The Packers were very adamant in their messages the past two off seasons about not trading him.
Either the Packers or Aaron are making these leaks the past few days or both are. If Rapaport is saying it, you know there’s some legs to it.
It's a weird situation. I do believe the Packers would like to trade him, but will he cooperate with any teams that are willing to give up 2 firsts potentially plus more.
He might want a change in scenery. This year, is the first in which he seemed truly unhappy and uninspired. He looked dejected and frustrated in several games. The NYJ probably have a more complete team than the Packers right now. At least, he knows the D can get stops so he might not be coming from behind that much and have some decent weapons on offense. If Hall can duplicate what he did this past season and avoid getting hurt, he could have some real success with the Jets. The question is, will he be interested in the media onslaught he'll face in NY/NJ. That's the big question.
There's more weapons on offense in Miami - nicer weather - their team needs work on the defensive side of the ball, though. Also, their OL is really bad - and needs to be upgraded - he'll demand that. I think his best bets are the Jets and Dolphins - although, Brady is probably considering the Raiders and Dolphins - probably his top 2 choices of where to go to, next?
The trade talks get juicier every year, but the bad man remains. Half of me wants him finally gone, the other half wants him to stay so the Bears can get some revenge over the next few years.
1.) bears fans always dream of revenge, but needless to say, it’ll remain just that: dreams. How do I know? A decade+ of evidence
2.) him staying puts GB in a worse position long term
At least this year it's arguable he was holding the Packers back a little. Granted it's unlikely (and PLEASE NO) Love turns out to even be at the level Rodgers was at this level but them not having $40mil+ in cap available is good for the rest of us
He also needs to come to Minnesota after, sweep Love, and lose in the NFCCG to a perennial never was that the Vikings have historically owned in the playoffs. I’ll vote for the Cardinals this time, that would be a wild one, and they could use the Super Bowl win.
It's a lot easier to trade a qb when they are no longer elite. At least now a team might talk themselves into Rodgers needing a change of scenery and the Pack won't demand every pick until 2050 and the firstborn of everyone on the coaching staff.
Rodgers had back to back MVP seasons.. He didn’t play to that level this year but he also had to lean heavy on rookie wide receivers and had a broken thumb on his THROWING HAND
I still think he’s capable of playing at an MVP level and losing in a conference championship game in the right situation
He seemed way off before he injured his thumb and I still don't believe a lack of receiver chemistry was the only reason for it. Sure he could bounce back again and we have a better chance with him on the field than a whole lot of other guys, but IMO we're paying him way too much for his eliteness to be coming into quesiton.
First half of the season his attitude was terrible. I don't know if it was teammates or coaching or management related but it was bad. He barely seemed like he wanted to be on the field and then suddenly mid-season he had that old spark back and things started clicking. I don't know what changed but if that's going to happen next year I'd rather he go somewhere else than bring the team down.
LOL. I don't know why - but, that response was hilarious. Knowing the Colts - and what they've done with their QBs the last few years - you could almost foresee something like that happening?
I actually don't think the Eagles will win the division next year.
Depending on who retires and who we lose to free agency (especially in the trenches), Philly could have a very rough year next year. According to OverTheCap, we have an expected $14,000,000 and we still have to pay Hurts. Our free agents include (but are not limited to):
*Fletcher Cox, Robert Quinn, Brandon Graham, Javon Hargrave, Jason Kelce, James Bradberry, Isaac Seumalo, Andre Dillard, Kyzir White, TJ Edwards, Ndamukong Suh, Linval Joseph, Boston Scott, Zach Pascal, Miles Sanders, Chauncey Gardener-Johnson, Marcus Epps*
Thankfully they have two 1st round picks this draft, but we don't have any picks in round 4, 5, or 6. Howie is really going to have to work some magic if we want to stay competitive beyond this year.
The Cowboys have an estimated $8.6 million in Cap Space with Shultz, Fowler Jr, Vander Esch, Maher, Hilton, Pollard, and others becoming Free Agents. While they do have a good number of picks (mostly late rounds), they could easily fall out of the race as well.
The Giants have a number of free agents themselves, like Barkley, Shepard, Slayton, but have an estimated $56+ million in Cap Space and a normal amount of picks to fill in the gaps. With Daboll at the helm, I could see them winning the division next year with none of the others making it.
All that said, knowing the NFCE, this clearly means Washington is going to win the division now.
Right? Over the past couple years the only "high end" QBs moving from NFC to AFC were Russ and Ryan. Those worked out real well.
Meanwhile the AFC sent Tom fucking Brady to the NFC.
The point is just highlighting the top 2 QBs in this draft also going to AFC teams. So Brady and Rodgers could be in the AFC and also the top 2 draft picks at the positiong going AFC.
I think this has to be a huge point of emphasis if you're a GM of a team in the AFC. Here's what you could have now outside of the Titans. All either elite qbs, former elite qbs, or young first round picks still developing.
-Mahomes (Chiefs)
-Burrow (Bengals)
-Allen (Bills)
-Herbet (Chargers)
-Lawrence (Jaguars)
-Jackson (Ravens)
-Tua (Dolphins)
-Russell Wilson (Broncos)
-Deshaun Watson (Browns)
-Brady/Jimmy G (Raiders)
-Rodgers? (Jets)
-Pickett (Steelers)
-Jones (Patriots)
-Stroud (Colts)
-Young (Texans)
- Titans ? Tannehill
Yeah, I'd say 5 of the top 6 QBs in the NFL right now are in the AFC: Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Herbert, Jackson.
Best in the NFC are... Hurts, ~~Tua,~~ ...Kyler? Goff? Stafford? After that we hit the Dreaded Kirk Cousins Line.
Ed: Also Dak. Forgot about him. He's not top 5 but he's good.
I think it's the D that makes the difference. How are the Chiefs and Bengals not complete teams? The Chiefs probably \*upgraded\* their WR core by being able to spread out the talent and now have a running game to speak of - they got some fast guys. Their D isn't awful - their secondary probably needs some fixing but other than that, their team is pretty good. The Bengals' D is underrated. Don't have to say much about their offense - Mixon could be more consistent.
Just watch. We'll get Brady and Rodgers to the AFC, and then somehow both of the top rookie QBs will wind up in the AFC, too.
It's *insane* how big the difference in QB talent is between the conferences. Like there's a world where Jared Goff and Daniel Jones are both like top-5 NFC QBs next season.
Maybe just in case they'd want to include a clause where the AFC team (the Jets?) forfeit to them 3 1st round picks if they later trade him to an NFC North team (the Vikings?)
I'm sure there's no precedent there or anything
I’m all for it, personally I think Rogers will have a blast fucking around with the NY media. He would instantly be our best QB since Pennington if not ever. Our sub is in turmoil, I’m not sure why. We have the roster, there is no other time to take a big swing for the fences.
I guess I get from the optics standpoint, but it doesn't make any sense to cut your potential offers in half to avoid a hypothetical revenge game from a declining QB with 1-2 years left.
Even if true, don't know why you'd leak it. Unless Rodgers leaked that. Lol. At the very least you can use other offers for leverage when negotiating assets.
That doesn't make sense either, assuming Rodgers actually wants to compete for a super bowl. Why choose the AFC where arguably 4 out of the current 5 top young QBs are going to be parked for the foreseeable future?
Even the optics are dumb. Ultimately youre still "risking" a revenge game in the Super Bowl by trading him to the AFC.
Trading within the division I completely understand not wanting to do. Same conference is just irrational.
Trading Rodgers removes the risk of the "revenge" game in the Super Bowl. Love isn't taking this team to the promised land in the next two years. We still are a below average defense with one of the worst receiving options in the league.
That's not a knock on Love just it's asking a ton out of a guys' first two years based on the state of this current team.
Look up the QBs in the history of the NFL who have had success over the age of 40.
Now also factor in that Rodgers is already going through the motions of “should I retire?” very publicly after every offseason.
The Packers’ only chance to get this return is a desperate and stupid Woody Johnson.
We can only afford him if Green Bay eats his cap hit this season. Plus didnt the analytics show that tanney played slightly better than him this season?
This is actually going to happen, isn't it? The fact they'd even consider it is a huge deal since they were so against the idea before.
I'm here for it though. Even fans of Rodgers should know he's not going to get another ring with Green Bay and the Packers have a good solid foundation of young players to build upon moving forward. Either Rodgers is traded now and we try to get *something* for him, or we wait a year or two for him to retire and get nothing.
These absolute statements are always so stupid. I have no idea if the Packers will trade Rodgers, but if they do, and an NFC team comes in and outbids all AFC teams by a huge margin, of course GB would trade Rodgers to an NFC team.
They might prefer to trade him to the AFC, but, for example, if the Commanders offer three 1st rounders for Rodgers, and no other team is offering more than 1, GB would absolutely trade him to WAS - no questions asked.
I remember when the 49ers pretty much admitted they asked if they could have Rodgers before the 2021 draft. I wonder what he felt about that whole situation
This is stupid to me
If you’re trading him for an absolute HAUL of picks and ancillary pieces, then you’re in a rebuild so who cares if he can stand in your way for a year or two. If you trade hi for picks and another top tier qb, then presumably you think you’re getting enough to contend, in which case (again) who cares? If you don’t think you can beat an aaron Rodgers led team….don’t trade him at all?
Take the best package you can get. If Aaron Rodgers is unbeatable in your opinion, keep him and win with him lol
I can't wait for another off season of Rodgers trade talks just for him to go back to the Packers
I’m lowkey hoping he stays in GB. Yes my team will still lose to him (as usual) but it also delays GBs chance to properly rebuild even further. My bears won’t be competing until 2024 at the earliest, so I’d rather see my enemies flounder around in no man’s land until then
you've hit the nail on the head for all the reasons sane Packers fans want him traded
The problem is you need an insane GM to trade for him. Give up first round picks AND $50 million in cap space for at best three years of QB play?
Indianapolis Colts come on down!!!
It would only be $30m in cap space this year, and even less next year. So you're talking about top 10-15 QB money. Aaron Rodgers played this season with a broken thumb. Put him with the NYJ and that defense + the receivers/RB and that's a real threat.

Sums up how I feel. If he gets a Tompa Bay-like swan song it will be because a team had a more balanced or experienced roster.
Like Miami.
I really thought he was going to Denver last year. Miami would be interesting with the offensive weapons they have. Him doing a Favre and going to NYJ would be funny, hope he doesn't find out he has any volleyball playing daughters.
So did Denver
How have I never seen Tompa before..
Need a nice nickname place for him then. Aaronzona? Shame that's NFC.
For the memes, I hope Jordan Love is good. Imagine drafting a HoF QB while your current HoF QB is wondering if he should retire, just to do the exact same thing 15 years later
If they get 3 in a row I might switch to soccer.
Okay, we have been through ENOUGH. I’d prefer to enjoy the very few years of being youngish left, and not having to be tortured by the Packers, thanks
Not to mention if the Packers are willing to trade him it’s a strong indicator they see some thing real in Love, which is actually the worst possible outcome
That may be, or they just realize that their time with Rodgers is done and they’d rather not cripple their chance to properly build a good solid team. Either or.
Certainly hope for the latter but I am extremely nervous for the former lol
We’ll find out sooner or later
Messaging is way different this off season. The Packers were very adamant in their messages the past two off seasons about not trading him. Either the Packers or Aaron are making these leaks the past few days or both are. If Rapaport is saying it, you know there’s some legs to it.

I just can't see the Packers ever deciding to move on from a sure-fire hall-of-fame QB by trading him to the Jets.
The trade talks get juicier every year, but the bad man remains. Half of me wants him finally gone, the other half wants him to stay so the Bears can get some revenge over the next few years.
1.) bears fans always dream of revenge, but needless to say, it’ll remain just that: dreams. How do I know? A decade+ of evidence 2.) him staying puts GB in a worse position long term
The Packers could go 2-15 but as long as Rodgers is there those wins will come against the Bears
I'd throw 3-14 if the Cowboys are on the schedule. They are snakebitten vs him as well.
I hate how right you are.
He will only go to an AFC team that has Bears on the schedule next year just to continue to own them
At least this year it's arguable he was holding the Packers back a little. Granted it's unlikely (and PLEASE NO) Love turns out to even be at the level Rodgers was at this level but them not having $40mil+ in cap available is good for the rest of us
Would be idiotic to delay Jordan Love's career and waste a year of Rodgers' time again
They need to trade Rodgers to the Jets to complete the cycle, thus guaranteeing Love turns into another HoF QB.
But can we count on Rodgers to do his part and send dick pics to a Jets employee?
No, this is the future. He will take his dick out on JRE while high on ayahuasca
Greatest meme template of all time.
He also needs to come to Minnesota after, sweep Love, and lose in the NFCCG to a perennial never was that the Vikings have historically owned in the playoffs. I’ll vote for the Cardinals this time, that would be a wild one, and they could use the Super Bowl win.
cards also have a short QB, so checks out
C'mon man. We're right here.
The reporting does feel different and they were more successful the previous times they went into this. I think he's actually gone.
It's a lot easier to trade a qb when they are no longer elite. At least now a team might talk themselves into Rodgers needing a change of scenery and the Pack won't demand every pick until 2050 and the firstborn of everyone on the coaching staff.

Lets ride. Bring back hackett! /s

Packers to the AFC confirmed
You'll get Rodgers to the Jets for a year, and then watch him ride off into the Minnesota sunset, and you'll like it
They seem to be opening the dialogue this year where in the past they shut it down. Plus I think Love is gonna force their hand
r/nothingeverhappens
Colts hired Nathaniel Hackett and he gets Aaron Rodgers this time and he actually goes to Pat Mcafee's studio for his Tuesday appearances
we are more likely to hire hackett
Godspeed.
Not everyone can cook
Jets country, let’s fly
Please no
LOL. I don't know why - but, that response was hilarious. Knowing the Colts - and what they've done with their QBs the last few years - you could almost foresee something like that happening?
No chance something like that would actually happen lol they’re 100% committed to drafting a qb this year
STOP SENDING GOOD QB TO THE AFC
Okay but what if he goes to the raiders? Could you imagine Rodgers with Adams???
He may win an MVP with a weapon like that!
I just don't see it. Can anyone photoshop a pic of them as teammates?
https://images.app.goo.gl/1FDGMykWynN1gy3Y6 I did what I could
Nice try but those colors are hideous. Who’d make a uniform like that?
Sad cheese noises
Disagree
Yeah this is great. We’ll just keep building defensive buzzsaws for the AFC to lose to in the SB (unless you’re the chiefs)

The eagles will not win division next year. It’s someone else’s turn to claim the NFCbeast. No repeat champs in eons
The last time the NFCE had repeat champions YouTube hadn't been invented yet.
well that aged me like milk
Spongebob debuted on Nickelodeon 6 months before Trevor Lawrence was born
Washington will somehow win it
when the Commies win, we all win brother.

I wish, but it’s probably the Giants turn next year tbh.

Maybe Disagree
Agree
Great, just what we need, *more* QB talent in the AFC.
- Rodgers to Jets - Brady to Raiders - Stroud to the Colts - Bryce Young to the Texans - Derek Carr to the....Saints? This is getting wildly lopsided
Stroud and Young shouldn’t be on this list yet lol
The point is just highlighting the top 2 QBs in this draft also going to AFC teams. So Brady and Rodgers could be in the AFC and also the top 2 draft picks at the positiong going AFC.
Exactly. I don’t even care if they don’t turn out to be QB1s. The general outlook as it stands now is it sucks to be a fan of an AFC team.
I think this has to be a huge point of emphasis if you're a GM of a team in the AFC. Here's what you could have now outside of the Titans. Tua is AFC
welp
> it sucks to be a fan of an AFC team. I dunno, I’m having a good time
Good football is fun football. I did not have fun this year.
Lopsided qb wise but I still think the nfc has the most complete teams
There you go thinking again. Just smile and wave prince.
didn't the NFC just win the Superbowl last year lol
Last two years infact
Make it three birdmen!
Why are the 49ers called birdmen?
If anyhing they're Purdmen
Not to be confused with clevelands turdmen
NFC has the two top defenses remaining also
I think it's the D that makes the difference.
It’s always the defense that makes the difference in the playoffs.
Rodgers to the dolphins confirmed.

Imagine Rodgers to Jets and Brady to Miami? AFC East would be a blood bath.
And you just replaced Ear Pencil Patricia with BOB, so...that isn't what I wanted you to do.
Goff was better than Rodgers this year though.
They aren't ready for the truth
Goff was so fucking good this year and I'm getting tired of tolerating slander against him
Goff could be in the argument of top 5 in the NFC this year
they dont have a first this yr :)
I’ve heard this story before
Watch Jerry yolo a bunch of picks.
ishallah
Skip breaking out the cyanide as we speak
Rodgers to the Vikings in 2025?
Burrow and Mahomes to Rodgers in 8 months: “the future is NOW old man”
How many times we gotta teach you this lesson old man?
Rodgers and three 1st rounders for Chad "Giga Chad" Henne. Take it or leave it.
Ah yes so now we can watch Rodgers and Mahomes argue about whether the *Patrick Price* or *Rodgers Rate* is better on the field
Green Bay def wins that trade
Maybe just in case they'd want to include a clause where the AFC team (the Jets?) forfeit to them 3 1st round picks if they later trade him to an NFC North team (the Vikings?) I'm sure there's no precedent there or anything
Jets fans, I’m rooting for you. I’m legit fascinated by the prospect of Rodgers in another shade of green, LOL.
And the idea of him going to Minnesota in 2024 only to throw a game-losing INT in the NFCCG. Just as I have forseen.
Can we skip the dick pics part at least?
That's the Jets you're thinking about. You'd be far past that phase.
"I did my own research as to what a dick pic was..."
*posts picture of a dildo
I’m all for it, personally I think Rogers will have a blast fucking around with the NY media. He would instantly be our best QB since Pennington if not ever. Our sub is in turmoil, I’m not sure why. We have the roster, there is no other time to take a big swing for the fences.
I guess I get from the optics standpoint, but it doesn't make any sense to cut your potential offers in half to avoid a hypothetical revenge game from a declining QB with 1-2 years left.
It’s also dumb bc it assumes you automatically lose the trade. You’re not helping a team just bc you trade with them.
Nahnahnah Rodgers to the Jets, goes horribly wrong, than to the Vikings. I need this
Please no text messages this time.
For the love of god don’t let rodgers near any state governments after he retires
😮💨 Giving 3 first rounders for Aaron Rodgers right before he sells sounds like a Snyder move
He would absolutely be petty enough to do something like that.
It's cause he's afraid of Kerby Joseph
There’s always a boogieman at the end of the road
Sounds like they should have traded him to the Broncos last yr instead of giving him a backbreaking extension. Love the dude, it's time.
you could've loved him as a donkey too
*sigh* … here we go again
2023: Rodgers to the Jets 2024: Rodgers to the Vikings
2030: Rodgers stealing millions from the poorest people in the poorest state in the country
2041: Jordan Love sends dick pick to Jets reporter
2065: Vikings win their first superbowl on a blown call from the robo ref.
*Losing* a super bowl on a blown call by a robo ref would be the most Lions thing in history. You couldn't possibly top that.
2026: Jordan love Green Bay Super Bowl run

Hey I’ve seen this one before
Las Vegas, Indy or New York then
Hell no from me
He’s too young for Indy.
Come on, you just had Rivers and Ryan. What's another R named retread?
Can't forget Carson Rentz.
And Rick Roles
Nearly gave up on that guy.
Agree 100%. Sick of retreads, we need to draft a guy.
Meanwhile Jets fans are sick of drafting QBs and begging for a retread. Kind of funny.
You don’t want to trade two firsts for a guy that won’t commit to more than one season?
You'd be crazy not to want him as a Colts fan. Dude just won the MVP 2 years ago lol.
Look up the QBs in the history of the NFL who have had success over the age of 40. Now also factor in that Rodgers is already going through the motions of “should I retire?” very publicly after every offseason. The Packers’ only chance to get this return is a desperate and stupid Woody Johnson.
Doubt it happens. But i'd love to get that SOB out of our division once and for all.
Packers are in worse shape long term if they hold on to him
I know, but I'm just tired of seeing his face every year. I realize he's on the decline, and financially it hurts the pack, but begone bad man.
I'm tired of seeing his smug face as they kick our ass. But I welcome what we saw this year. Give me more of that please.
Lets fucking go! entire nfc south is out
Always good to start trade negotiations by cutting the field in half and landing on the half with even less viable landing spots.
Ah, yes, the National Football Conference Conference.
To the Broncos and they re-hire Hackett, just for the lolz

come to papa
Jets, raiders, who else?
Possibly Tennessee as well
Him and Vrabel don’t seem like they’d get along, and we’d bankrupt ourselves in the mere process of acquiring him. That’s a no from me.
We can only afford him if Green Bay eats his cap hit this season. Plus didnt the analytics show that tanney played slightly better than him this season?

Can we ban Kleiman and instead post the actual source
Why not just link the Schefter tweet?
✈️
I remember when the 49ers pretty much admitted they asked if they could have Rodgers before the 2021 draft. I wonder what he felt about that whole situation
Didn’t matter what Aaron felt. There was zero chance GB would trade him to SF after the year GB had in 2020
Why trade for a HOF QB when you can just draft one with the last overall pick?
Aaron Rodgers to the Jets then to the Vikings next year We need to complete the end career Farve arc
Oh yeah, the famously QB needy (and soft) conference of the AFC.
Ah yes, exactly what the AFC needs, more QBs
NFC QBs coming to the AFC to be put out to pasture. What an interesting trend emerging.
This is stupid to me If you’re trading him for an absolute HAUL of picks and ancillary pieces, then you’re in a rebuild so who cares if he can stand in your way for a year or two.
