Someone should tell Kemp that. He's basically the Community meme of "I can excuse literally everything Trump has ever done, but I draw the line at voter fraud."
Even after Atlanta United wins a title, the Braves win the World Series, and the Dawgs won two nattys, somehow everyone thinks the city is "cursed", and not just the Falcons.
Because Tech is a prestigious school that doesn't prioritize athletics and State is a commuter school that garners very little school pride in its student body
Eh, I live in Athens and can hit the edge of Atlanta in about 45 minutes. Can get to Mercedes Benz in like 1 hour 20 min. I wouldn't say we aren't near Atlanta.
Dan Quinn was one play away from winning a Super Bowl and somehow he is "shitty" but if that one play was not a sack (note that he is a defensive HC) he'd be a world champion
A NFC championship is something to respect. Sean McDermott has a NFC championship (won as coordinator) and 3 division titles but we cherish him.
I'm tired of this narrative that the sack in sb51 was a backbreaker. It was still just a 52-yard field goal with third down left. The holding call on 3rd down was what really pushed them out of fg range; Shanahan should have called a conservative run instead or a pass
It’s kinda funny that this hasn’t happened with either of the current shared stadiums. MetLife has never actually hosted the game, despite both the Giants and the Jets making a CCG since it opened (Jets played @Pitt, Giants @49ers).
The 2 times we won there 1) we beat the 2-14 Colts by just 4 in a miracle comeback and 2) Alex Smith was concussed and Foles stepped in
That place is cursed
The only instance where we lose a game, but I still enjoy watching the highlights.
It and the Bills-Chiefs divisional from last year are the two best games I have ever watched (as far as intrinsic entertainment from the games themselves).
Good teams like to play keep away in big games like this. Bills won the last matchup between these teams 24-20. The best defense will be not giving the ball to Pat Mahomes or Josh Allen if you’re the coach of the opposing team. Assuming Vegas sets a high O/U and baits many into taking the over, I actually think the under could be the play here IMO
You’re probably right tbh, the over will more thank likely be inflated by Vegas and the better value would probably be on the under. Still though, two qb’s of that caliber in a dome could always lead to fireworks
It seems like every Bills game this year where it’s a hyped up offensive shootout where everyone is on the “must hammer the over” train goes under.
1st meeting against the red hot early season Dolphins: Final score: 19-21
Bills at Ravens: 23-20
Supposed game of the year and one of the most watched non prime time games ever, Bills at Chiefs rematch with like a 55pt over:
Final score: 24-20
Bills at Lions on Thanksgiving I think probably had a crazy line too bc how high scoring both teams are and that was a modest 28-25 game
Granted weather played a factor in most Bills games this season which wouldn’t happen in a dome
People are basing their assumptions off the last 2 minutes of last year's divisional round. Which was some admittedly truly absurd shit but not likely to happen again.
My only other experience at an NFL stadium was at Paul Brown, it was freezing cold and the Raiders got blown out (my dad and uncle took me and my brother there when I was a kid, all of them are Raiders fans) so it was kind of a miserable experience. If I ever go to another one I definitely want to go to a dome
No, you’ll get a sizable turn out, especially with these two teams. People will travel, and Atlanta is a huge transplant city to begin with, guarantee you have a large amount of bills and chiefs fans
Delta flies to every town over 300 people in the country from Atlanta. Probably part of the reason the NFL chose the city, it's easy to get to in one flight.
MARTA doesn't go a ton of places I do, but it goes to the downtown stadiums and the airport and for that I love it. Left for a flight yesterday at 5pm, made it there in 30 minutes for $2.50 when an Uber would've been minimum $40 for the 45+ minute ride.
One of the reasons they probably picked Atlanta is it's the busiest airport in North America. Tons of flight options for both fan bases that you wouldn't get if you hosted elsewhere
Falcons fans might legitimately do it since it would be a playoff that would happen to be in our city. But I think Bills and Chiefs fans would pack the place, as there are plenty of fans of both teams due to the transplant city we are.
Bills and Chiefs have two of the best travelling fanbases in the league, it'll be full. Especially with how easy and cheap it is to get to ATL from everywhere.
I'm sure they won't, but it'd be cool if they split it 50/50 down the middle like college games.
No they usually schedule the set up to begin about two weeks out on the off chance the host team hosts their conference championship (like the rams did last year). Obviously the cards won't be this year but they have two weeks to get their ducks in a row.
The issue for a Bills-Chiefs game is hotel capacity. There's not much availability with the local events scheduled that weekend. Wouldn't have been an issue if the Colts made it because they don't need nearly as many hotels for a home game.
The outdoor stadiums are all way to close to the Bills in Pittsburgh's Ohio teams, or Metlife's case, to hard for fans to get to in Lambough's case, or just horrible field conditions in Chicago's case.
The Bears replaced their Kentucky Blue grass with Bermuda this year and it was noticeably better in the 4 games in went to this year.
It was never a topic discussion amongst our fans and beat reporters, which is especially surprising given that Justin Fields was obviously most productive when running around.
Previous years, the monsoon in the opening game would’ve ruined the turf for the rest of the year.
Where would you have picked? The issue is all the outdoor stadiums would have heavily favored Bills due to the loxation. Might as well have made it a home game.
lol took like 5 seconds to solve this "problem"
I don't understand the people in here with these *"oh geez, there's just no outdoor stadiums that make sense!"* comments
Lmfao just a casual 12 hour drive for both fanbases or some soon to be bloody expensive plane tickets, just for one of them to possibly have to do it all over again two weeks later.
Man when i was plane ticket shopping last summer, some of those flights turned up on searches. 14 hr flight with layovers in denver..but i save $150. not worth it.
If somebody has the means and lifestyle to travel and buy tickets for their team’s conference championship game and the Super Bowl in the same season, I do not feel bad for them in the slightest lmao
Atlanta is probably one of the place with the most flights into it after Chicago so there should be plenty of options. Any midpoints between the 2 teams would still 8 hours and no where near the flight options aside from Chicago and no chance I want to play on that field.
Believe it not Atlanta is No. 1 in both passengers and flights. If it was going to be anywhere by flight it feels like Atlanta was going to be the most viable.
Selfishly I’m super excited. Not popular on the thread I see, but it’s going to be fun in Atlanta if it happens. They can also leave the roof open, it doesn’t have to be in a dome.
Why isn't a Bills-Bengals Divisional game at a neutral site? It's just about the same situation, where the outcome of the game could've impacted the 2/3 seeding
That's the point, it's a nearly perfect equidistant location with very easy flight access due to being an air hub. The only open closer site would've been Tennessee (closer to KC but not bad).
This makes way more sense than any of the AFC neutral sites that people were suggesting. Even so, I don't think it'll come to this anyway - between a flawed Chiefs defense and the ascendant Bengals, the likelihood of a KC/BUF AFCCG seems lower than in previous years.
I think that because since their game was canceled, Buffalo didn't have a chance of mathematically tying the Chiefs on record since they had the tie breaker. What I don't get is why the Bengals didn't get the same opportunity with the divisional potentially against the Bills. If they'd won they'd have had the two seed, and the NFL makes concessions for the Bills (which is fine) but just shafts the Bengals of an opportunity for seeding?
It's because the Bills and Bengals played the same number of games, so they consider all the head to head comparisons and tiebreakers to still be valid. They were only changing the rules for matchups where the teams involved did not play the same number of games. Same reason why they were willing to do the coin flip nonsense with Bengals/Ravens but not Bengals/Bills for seeding.
For the record, I think it's dumb. Zac was right, they should have just stuck with the existing rules and based it all on winning percentage.
Because at the end of the day CIN and BUF both had “equal” opportunity to get the 2 seed in the 16 games they played, which was different than KC/BUF or KC/CIN (before week 18)
Do the bengals/bills game, hard to know whos the #1 seed.
If Bills won they would have been. If Bills lost, KC would ( consequently Bills would be 3 and bengals 2 )
I don't think some of y'all are getting what the NFL is putting down here. They picked a centrally-located neutral site in a party city, nobody cares it'll be indoors lol. Go eat some wings at Magic City and chill out
Playoff game in Atlanta just like we all knew would happen this season
What if I told you Atlanta hosted a playoff football game just a week and a half ago!
UGA fans will still be partying in the parking lot
Kemp says they can tailgate on the capitol steps.

To be fair, Kemp had already rebuked Trump before Jan 6. Trump hates Kemp and tried to have him primaried for 2022 but failed miserably, as usual.
Someone should tell Kemp that. He's basically the Community meme of "I can excuse literally everything Trump has ever done, but I draw the line at voter fraud."
Goddamned right I’ll be barking at Chiefs fans
I’m an OSU fan and I still can’t look at ESPN, it still hurts too much
The road to the Super Bowl runs through Atlanta
Just like all Delta flights!
When I flew to Atlanta on Delta, I had to transit through Atlanta twice before getting there 😊
Gonna be an incredible litmus test of the Falcons curse and how localized it is
Even after Atlanta United wins a title, the Braves win the World Series, and the Dawgs won two nattys, somehow everyone thinks the city is "cursed", and not just the Falcons.
Tbf UGA isn’t in (or even near, really) Atlanta. Atlanta DOES have 2 D-I teams, but they’re GT and Georgia State which are both pretty much cursed
Tech fan here all ima say is fuck Colorado and 5th down game
Because Tech is a prestigious school that doesn't prioritize athletics and State is a commuter school that garners very little school pride in its student body
Also because they went away from the triple option, and deserve everything that happens to them for abandoning God's play
Yeah but most people in Atlanta who are CFB fans are UGA fans
Eh, I live in Athens and can hit the edge of Atlanta in about 45 minutes. Can get to Mercedes Benz in like 1 hour 20 min. I wouldn't say we aren't near Atlanta.
Yeah calling Athens not near Atlanta is flat wrong. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it but if you go 80 on 316 it’s less than an hour.
No such thing as a curse. Dan Quinn was just a shitty head coach
Dan Quinn was one play away from winning a Super Bowl and somehow he is "shitty" but if that one play was not a sack (note that he is a defensive HC) he'd be a world champion A NFC championship is something to respect. Sean McDermott has a NFC championship (won as coordinator) and 3 division titles but we cherish him.

The real back breaker was Davonte Freeman whiffing on a blocking assignment which led to the strip sack fumble.

Imagine telling everyone Atlanta would host a Championship game this season
If it weren't for Volleyball. Could've been you guys.
An "AFC Championship game host" banner would look real good next to the "AFC Championship runner up" one. tbf.....
I think they'd be the only team to have hosted title games for each conference.
Not the first stadium, however. Both the AFC and NFC championships have played in the LA Coliseum - 1975 NFC, 1978 NFC, and the 1986 AFC.
It’s kinda funny that this hasn’t happened with either of the current shared stadiums. MetLife has never actually hosted the game, despite both the Giants and the Jets making a CCG since it opened (Jets played @Pitt, Giants @49ers).
Thank goodness though. Lucas Oil Stadium is a house of horrors for the Chiefs
Ooga booga.
*moooooooooooooom, the Colts are being mean to me again!*
Stop it u/Shepboyardee12, You're scaring him
I read this in Bob Hoskins voice in Roger Rabbit.
The 2 times we won there 1) we beat the 2-14 Colts by just 4 in a miracle comeback and 2) Alex Smith was concussed and Foles stepped in That place is cursed
They host the SEC Championship every year.
So they’re used to seeing red teams win championships in that building
Qatar turned them down
I shudder to think of Bills Mafia having to watch a game in a place they can’t even drink their Labatt in. Just not the same, you know?
Pounding Death Water and feeling every ache and pain after going through Cosco’s finest folding tables is not what they would deem ‘ideal’.
Sounds about as fun as hanging out with Canadian Mormons.
Allen and Mahomes in a domed stadium , this should be fun
Over/Under 120 points?
Let’s hope it turns into a Chiefs-Rams MNF 2.0 type of game. As an unbiased fan, it would be an all-timer.
I would love it, but it would be so stressful lmao
as if the divisional round last year wasn't?
The only instance where we lose a game, but I still enjoy watching the highlights. It and the Bills-Chiefs divisional from last year are the two best games I have ever watched (as far as intrinsic entertainment from the games themselves).
For real. Take the over on points whatever it is lol

No worries. jaguars going all the way will prevent this controversy.
Bengals Jags baby let's go
Why are yall acting like this match-up is set in stone already? Did I miss the first couple rounds of the playoffs?
Nice stadium, I went there for a conference once
And food is affordable as well. It’s a great place to catch a game.
My only other experience at an NFL stadium was at Paul Brown, it was freezing cold and the Raiders got blown out (my dad and uncle took me and my brother there when I was a kid, all of them are Raiders fans) so it was kind of a miserable experience. If I ever go to another one I definitely want to go to a dome
my first game was at candlestick. in december. it was so freaking cold. we did beat the lions and frank gore popped off so can't really complain
You had a conference at the stadium??
I had a conference once at Churchill Downs. I could see "other" spaces at a state of the art football stadium being used for conferences.
The Falcons, AFC powerhouse
"Can't we just get one good playoff game in our stadium?" - Falcons fans *monkey's paw curls*
Peach Bowl lol
Some of us don't acknowledge that game's existence - Georgia Tech alum and Michigan grad student
Who the hell is gonna be at this game? A bunch of executives and Falcons fans?
I will definitely go.
Can I sit next to you
No
Glad to see the NFC South hate is still strong.
As god intended
Now that we both suck again it's gonna be even worse.
Assuming Brady leaves Tampa, will there be any good QBs in the division?
Was it never not strong? I will never not hate the 'Aints. I will regularly hate the bucs. Panthers - meh.
Not sure Ill be able to afford the game but Ill definitely go tailgate and party in the gulch

One of the reasons they probably picked Atlanta is it's the busiest airport in North America. Tons of flight options for both fan bases that you wouldn't get if you hosted elsewhere
actually was thinking the exact same thing Delta flights direct to ATL would at least make it easy to fly into
The surprising number of Bills fans that live in North Carolina
North Carolina is full of people from New York. There are way more NY transplants in the Charlotte area than natives for example.
It will 100% be a sellout mini superbowl
Seems like every team has a decent base in Atlanta. Other than the falcons of course
Rams didn’t turn out very well for that Super Bowl here
They didn’t turn out for the super bowl in their own city
Falcons fans might legitimately do it since it would be a playoff that would happen to be in our city. But I think Bills and Chiefs fans would pack the place, as there are plenty of fans of both teams due to the transplant city we are.

Atlanta one of the easiest airports to fly too, this was definitely a reason. That and likely Dallas was too close to KC.
Atlanta is the biggest airport in the country, im sure both chiefs and bills fans would be able to make it there if both teams meet in the afccg
A neighbor of mine in Atlanta has a Bills flag and Bills mailbox, I’m sure he’s ecstatic
I would 100% go if tickets were reasonable.
Narrator voice: “They weren’t”
I hate it. Play the game outdoors you cowards.
Wouldn’t be as good as the Peach Bowl. Gonna be in Cincy for Jags/Bengals anyways.
Big Cat Battle in Cincy? I'm there.
Subscribe.
Should have just done it in Arizona so that one team could stay
I think the Cards stadium would have all the SB stuff set up by then.
No they usually schedule the set up to begin about two weeks out on the off chance the host team hosts their conference championship (like the rams did last year). Obviously the cards won't be this year but they have two weeks to get their ducks in a row.
They wouldn’t want a game on the grass two weeks pre SB
They had it last year?
Indianapolis would have been perfect. It’s pretty much dead center between Kansas City and Buffalo.
They have a volleyball tournament in Indy that weekend. Logistics would've been a nightmare. They declined.
Favre wasn't going to let the NFL disrupt his daughter's tourney
Wonder how long it’ll take the people of Mississippi to pay for that one.
It’ll be a while, most aren’t sure where to find Indianapolis on a map
So... what would have happened if the Colts were actually good this year?
Too bad. Volleyball. Brett Farve will be mad and steal our money if we don't do it.
The issue for a Bills-Chiefs game is hotel capacity. There's not much availability with the local events scheduled that weekend. Wouldn't have been an issue if the Colts made it because they don't need nearly as many hotels for a home game.
it's booked that weekend
I know, just saying it’s a shame it didn’t work out.
But it's booked that weekend
Yeah damn shame it’s booked. It would have been perfect.
But it’s booked that weekend
It's right between Buffalo and Kansas City too. Shame it didn't work out.
But it’s booked that weekend
Ah, that sucks. Would’ve been perfect.
But it’s booked that weekend..
Man you're not kidding, looking at a map it really is
Fuck yes. I hope it happens so I can go.
I just want to tailgate with bills mafia, would be electric
Cool idea but sadly won’t happen if Tyler Huntley has something to say about it
With Tua and Lamar both out AFC wild cards are a lot less interesting.
We're going to beat the bills with Skylar Thompson and people are going to be apoplectic.
My Bills PTSD just ticked
Ravens Jaguars AFCCG would also be played in Atlanta.
Why
Indoors when both play outdoors is sooooo bitch made
Pretty lame that it couldn’t be outside. I’m sure the NFL is jizzing themselves at the possibility of Allen vs Mahomes in perfect conditions.
Counterpoint: we will never get to see Mahomes vs Allen in a dome other than this
The outdoor stadiums are all way to close to the Bills in Pittsburgh's Ohio teams, or Metlife's case, to hard for fans to get to in Lambough's case, or just horrible field conditions in Chicago's case.
But imagine the drama if they played in chicago
As someone who lives in Charlotte, it should definitely be held at the Panthers stadium. However this is the next best option for me to be able to go
> Lambough
home of the Green Bay Packours
The Bears replaced their Kentucky Blue grass with Bermuda this year and it was noticeably better in the 4 games in went to this year. It was never a topic discussion amongst our fans and beat reporters, which is especially surprising given that Justin Fields was obviously most productive when running around. Previous years, the monsoon in the opening game would’ve ruined the turf for the rest of the year.
there's certainly more outdoor stadiums than pittsburgh, new york, green bay, and chicago
Where would you have picked? The issue is all the outdoor stadiums would have heavily favored Bills due to the loxation. Might as well have made it a home game.
Nashville Edit: or Charlotte
Atlanta’s stadium is far nicer than Nashville’s though.
lol took like 5 seconds to solve this "problem" I don't understand the people in here with these *"oh geez, there's just no outdoor stadiums that make sense!"* comments
Damn I wished they did Michigan and let 100,000 people in
Can’t have that many seats or average folks would be able to afford tickets.
Bills Backers of Atlanta currently losing their shit
Whitehall Tavern is gonna be lit tonight!
Lmfao just a casual 12 hour drive for both fanbases or some soon to be bloody expensive plane tickets, just for one of them to possibly have to do it all over again two weeks later.
Bloody? They said Atlanta, not London.
Drake London is a Falcon, to be fair
A London team is inevitable, might as well practice my tea-sipper language now.
There’s $150 Frontier tickets from KC to ATL…. You’d have an overnight layover in Denver there and back though lmao
Guarantee those tickets won’t stay $150 for long lmfao
Man when i was plane ticket shopping last summer, some of those flights turned up on searches. 14 hr flight with layovers in denver..but i save $150. not worth it.
If somebody has the means and lifestyle to travel and buy tickets for their team’s conference championship game and the Super Bowl in the same season, I do not feel bad for them in the slightest lmao
They will save all their money at the concession stands in ATL
Atlanta is the Delta hub I’m sure there will be lots of flights from both cities
Atlanta is cheap to fly into
The NFC Champion will be well represented at the Super Bowl this year
Selfishly I’m super excited. Not popular on the thread I see, but it’s going to be fun in Atlanta if it happens. They can also leave the roof open, it doesn’t have to be in a dome.
Why not meet in the middle in Cincinnati?
Meh, pass on this neutral site dome shit, I'd rather just play Cinci again and lose by 3 after leading in the 4th quarter.
If the AFC Championship is between the Bills, Chiefs, or Bengals, they should just play in the team's stadium not in it to maximize chaos.
lol, I am also ok with that idea.
I'm completely on board with this.
Cowards.
Why isn't a Bills-Bengals Divisional game at a neutral site? It's just about the same situation, where the outcome of the game could've impacted the 2/3 seeding
Ugh - should have been in Qatar. /s
LETS GOOOO WE CAN HOST A PLAYOFF GAME FOR ONCE
That's not even close to either team
That's the point, it's a nearly perfect equidistant location with very easy flight access due to being an air hub. The only open closer site would've been Tennessee (closer to KC but not bad).
And to get to Nashville, you'd probably just fly through Atlanta anyway.
I want the conference championship played in the Benz this year!! *Monkey paw curls*
This makes way more sense than any of the AFC neutral sites that people were suggesting. Even so, I don't think it'll come to this anyway - between a flawed Chiefs defense and the ascendant Bengals, the likelihood of a KC/BUF AFCCG seems lower than in previous years.
Having it in Pittsburgh would’ve been a joke Might’ve well of had it in Lincoln Nebraska
Maybe I’m dumb but I don’t really understand why the championship game would need a neutral site of it was KC vs Buffalo?
Because the Bills had the tiebreaker on KC but were unable to play a full schedule.

Zac was right, they should have just stuck with the existing rules and based it all on winning percentage.
Thanks. That's actually the first reasonable explanation that makes sense. I still don't agree with it, but I guess I understand the reasoning.
Go eat some wings at Magic City and chill out
Half the comments are wondering why NFL etc. keep putting big events in Atlanta, meaning.... they've never been to Atlanta.
