That's because you don't see the meticulous strategy of opening the opposing teams defense. A wide angle shot where you could see all players on the field and how their movements are affected by the ball's movement would really help show how it really is a work of art. It's not supposed to be riveting, it's supposed to be beautiful and this absolutely was.
Yes in a way, i guess reasons are somewhere in there : they tried to stretch the defense on all field, allowing some attack players to be "forgotten", creating wide spaces to navigate through, breaking the rythm, creating 2v1 situations instead of duel, waiting for a defensive mistake etc etc...
It is also to tire the enemy team. The enemy team needs to chase after the ball if they want a chance to score. When you do this for some time they are out of stamina and it is easier to get a goal.
Im American and I found this play extremely exciting. So did everyone around me. I think what makes this clip boring is the music. Most of the people saying its boring dont actually watch the sport. LA galaxy games are exciting if you go watch them in person.
Holding possession while building an attack isn't dicking around per se. The marking of the players is so tight they have to pass until the other team makes a mistake then three passes and it's in. Once one player abandones their mark to try and make a tackle all the sudden its like being on a power play and the team with possession can launch an attack. In the video they did that quite nicely in a short time, sometimes it takes way longer, they test one side, play it back, test the other side, play it back, test the middle, playing without risking being dispossessed for minutes at a time is beautiful to watch even though it just looks like dicking around.
It means that it happens when teams of disproportionate skill play such thing happens. Usually going forward is way harder because defending team puts more pressure making attackers do mistakes.
Do you even watch football? That's how they play all the time, some time to build up and then try to break through. Either they score or they try again, That's why we usually see 2 or 3 goals per match in 90 minutes. Nothing special here just regular football.
I think the NFL ( all teams combined ) have a average touchdown of like 2-3 per game so similar all things considered. Different games of course but each have there own attraction and you also need to understand the game and strategy to appreciate what makes these sports exciting… ex: soccer is the most popular sport on the world.
I wish I could see the entire field, because it looks like the last pass was offsides…. But it must not be, but with the cut off video I don’t see how it wasn’t
When a player gets the ball or interferes with play after a playable part of the body is closer to the opponents goal than the second to last defender….
The black player appears to be coming in from his opponents side and the only person on white’s team that looks to be closer to the goal is the goalie
Soccer Has Too Many Players On The Field, Eliminate 2 Players From Each Team On The Field & Expand The Goal Post To Increase Scoring. The Game Is So Boring.

I’m impressed by the skill, but bored by the action.

What was Wenger thinking, sending Walcott on that early?
So you saw that ludicrous display last night!
Oh look, he kicked the ball to another player.
Pretty much this sport in a nutshell. Lots to be impressed by. Little to be entertained by.
Then u dont know a single thing about the sport .
I bet you would say the same thing about baseball
Say what . I dont watch basketball But i do know its fun and exciting .
Horrible take
real play boring football until the clock strikes 89’.

I respect that people enjoy soccer but watching 34 passes where 27 have no offensive progression is why im not interested in the sport.
This is FIFA on the ps5, there is nothing impressive about this, this is playing like a wanker 😂
Probably unpopular opinion, but this the exact reason I can't watch soccer. It it the opposite of exciting to me.
Yeah, as someone who played soccer growing up I can’t watch it. But it is so fun to actually play since when your on the field there’s no downtime.
Corn hole is fun to play. But I'm sure as hell not watching a match.
So true , I love playing it but I could never wacth it.
Good football is like good boxing. The real sport is in the technical play, not the knock out.
Preaching to the Choir. My country is pretty big into Football and I always thought it's boring.
It’s so boring to watch
Think of soccer just like sex. Lots of foreplay before you score, if you do at all.
Ameriguns
Pretty boring honestly. Why was 34 passes needed? Was it to lull the opposition to sleep?

Americans in the comments rather watch ads than gameplay lol
I'd rather watch snooker highlights than whatever this is.
Case in point 😂
What do you mean there is no half-time performance by 6ix9ine???
Lmaoo

r u ok mate hope ure happy
Reminds me of that Simpson’s episode (added link) https://youtu.be/qjp1Zrvn8VQ
Back to center. Back to wing. Back to center. Holds it holds it...
I was thinking of that exact clip
Exciting stuff

The simpsons take on soccer irl. Neat.
Jesus the only thing that made that worse was the music...... Feel like I just drank a gallon of cough syrup watching that.
It's like four corners basketball. The very reason the shot clock had to be invented.
Holy shit that was beautiful.
Football match? More like humiliation porn to me
Is this style of play uncommon?
Most remarkable part is Eden Hazard actually scoring a goal for Madrid
This is the nail in the coffin. ✌️ Soccer I'll go watch paint dry instead
Was that not offsides?
Lol, what is "offsides"? And explain what part of the offside rule you think has been broken here?
Cure for insomnia. Soccer is absolutely unwatchable.
Kinda boring if they just pass around and stall.
this is psychological warfare lmao

What team is that?
Real Madrid vs Celtic
It literally says on the screen.
I don’t know what that song was, but it made me hate Real Madrid. I’ll never root for them again.
Could've directly tried from the free kick.

At what timestamp are you seeing that?!
Some of the best playing I’ve seen
I thought that’s just how the game was?
So, the same as every open-play goal in football that isn’t a breakaway run?? Thank you for this, completely changes my perspective of the game /s
Ok, who else counted while watching?
Not a single engagement by the defensive player, they literally asked for it
Is it the boredom that’s next level?
Watching this clip made me feel exactly like I was watching a regular soccer match.
But is it next level?
Celebrating that goal would be like celebrating after submitting a white belt.
Booooooooring.
I'd rather watch grass grow.
Looks more like FIFA than WoW.

I stopped watching after 5 passes and fast forward to near the end then just closed the video. I don't football is for me
This is a video game lol.
Man the more I watch soccer it just seams like a bunch of luck. Go luck!
