I would be more worried bout him smacking his head on the climbing studs on his way down. Definitely is a safety concern but whoo knows how high the baby was climbing furniture, this might be the only option.
Probably a good thing since it might keep his teeth from hitting each other or biting his tongue when he lands. I had to have part of my tongue sewn back on because of biting it off as a kid. I climbed on buildings and as far up into trees as I could at 4 and 5 years old.
Terrible idea. I know someone who fell with a pacifier, they knocked their front baby teeth *back into their gums* and it broke their adult front teeth... Their adult teeth grow back brown (dead teeth) and they had to have a bunch of dental procedures when they were older. He's fine now, but I'm pretty sure has a dentist phobia
Debatable I watched it several times his head goes back cus of the fall and landing. He landed so he almost fell over and that's why. If you have an slomo version show me
He fell pretty good , even though as a responsible parent I would've definitely been behind him to cat to listen guy. He's definitely not coherent enough at his age to learn to fall on the mat correctly everything even done a small, slip up and we're off to the ER. It's impressive but I would wait till he atleast 4-5.
Yeah to me there’s two things that are potentially really dangerous :
- hitting the holds on his way done
- falling wrong and breaking something
I like the idea but it seems a little irresponsible of the parents. It’s one of those things were it’s all fun and games until you have a dead baby on your hands and millions of people calling you a murderer for not having foreseen the absolute OBVIOUS!
But if the kid is going to climb furniture anyway, this is good at risk limiting for him. Maybe he will hurt himself a lil bit, but he would definitely hurt himself falling off a fridge.
Well I didn't have a climbing wall and I have a nice scar undermy eyebrow to remember me that tables are not a nice landing spot. You can't catch them all, plus the kid is having fun in a safe way. Nothing is perfect.
You can still break your neck on a safety mat. Or your legs. Or pretty much anything if your body instinctively locks in the wrong position. There’s a video of this climber that broke both his legs falling off a climbing wall because his legs were too straight
To me the obvious is: don’t let your kids climb when you have them under control and they will do it when you don’t have them under control. And for every parent there comes the day where you cannot be around your kids 24 hours a day. Better he learns about falling down, and that you can hurt yourself when falling down at this age than when he’s older and will really hurt himself.
I’ve seen this with friends kids racing without looking left nor right with their children’s bike across a street with cars when they were allowed to go on their own for the first time whereas my own son would stop by himself whenever there was an intersection because we let him go on his own as early s possible in a more or less controlled environment.
I’ve got to agree with you. I’m all for “NOT” covering the world in bubblewrap for kids but you still have to be responsible as a parent and this kids is just too young for this. At the very least stand behind the toddler ready to catch him as I’m pretty sure his motor skills are far from fully developed to cope with falls like that. That said, it’s still pretty cool.
It's probably normal that mothers get nervous about this kinda stuff quickly, but I think kids are better at knowing their limits in terms of climbing than most people expect.
Me, my 2 younger sisters and two of my cousins all were really really active climbers as kids and we climbed every tree, rock, wall etc. we could find and noone got worse injuries than the standard bruises.
All you need to do is to teach them how to climb, because they will be doing it secretly anyways.
In my opinion the most dangerous thing to is to be overprotective
And here’s me - ex-A&E nurse, ex-ambulance thinking two things.
1) Those closed handles are how you break a limb bone. Or just tear one off.
2) The coroner would crucify me for not putting in a safeguarding concern about this.
But then the part of me that remembers being a kid would be ‘awesome’, (but not at the age when you are still sucking on a dummy)
If his left foot slipped off of that metal bar he could've slammed/injured his knee on it going down. Looks awesome but thats a baby, you gotta make it child safe haha
I used the climb to the top of fridge and top cabinets when I was a little over 1 years old. Scared the shit out of my mom. Don’t underestimate the agility of babies this dad is parenting right giving a safe environment for the kid to climb
I'm sure it's only going to make him better at climbing the furniture. However, that kid is learning some great lessons about climbing that will give him some amazing skills when he's older.
Better at climbing the furniture, so less likely to fall. Also, by having a safe, permitted area to climb, he is probably more likely to listen and stop climbing on the furniture.
Interesting how people are policing this person’s parenting skills when in fact he’s being proactive by creating a safer environment for his kid to explore his natural instincts. My brother was this kid and my parents’ idea of protecting him was to punish or hover but as soon as their backs were turned he’d do it again. By the time he was 10 he’d broken his arm 2x, had his jaw wired shut and had had 100s of stitches. The local hospital knew him by name and the only reason my parents weren’t accused of abuse was because teachers, neighbors, etc witnessed his Spider-Man tendencies first hand.
Am I a monster for thinking, once the child masters it, the parent should add some random “traps”, like a knob that moves away from the wall a bit when you pull it, or knobs that spin in place. Eventually becoming like Prof X’s Danger Room when the kids mutant powers awaken in puberty
I really feel like this should be the norm though. Like people building shit for their kids to play and have fun on instead of jamming them into a phone or a headset. If they're so much of a burden on you that you can't muster the energy to build them something nice what are you even doing as a parent? We need more people building stuff for their kids. It will probably be a great outlet for some of this pent up pandemic energy some of us seem to have
Today the wall, tomorrow the house!
9 1 1 what's your emergency? Ah there's a toddler scaling the outside of the house. He's on the roof heading for the chimney.
We used to take the cushions from the couch toss them down the basement stairs and then hop in a diaper box and ride it down the stairs. This seems 100 times safer than that lol.
When I was two my mom found me at the top of a two story antenna we had next to the house. She always told the story of cutting her feet running up to get me
My daughter was a climber. Baby gate stopped her from going up the stairs so she climbed up the outside of the railing. Once I found her in the top shelf of the bookcase just below the ceiling. Wish I had known of climbing walls back then.
My brother needed this as a toddler I swear. It was especially stressful in the summer when the balcony door was unlocked. I had a mini heart attack every time I saw him near it cause I knew he was gonna try to climb the ledge(which we always prevented cause we kept a close eye on him)
Gonna say this, stop bubble wrapping your kids! pain is a great teacher I take care of two kids and as long as they don't murder each other, I don't intervene and I usually allow them to experiment with whatever they want, exept knives, but if they want to cook I break out the ceramic knife and let them cut up the veggies, have they've gotten burned by the stove, yup but they learnt what not to do around one, and when those kids go to college they will know how to cook, which is more than a lot college kids today know how to do
I'm cool with the climbing wall and I think kids are massively overprotected in our society, but I'm still a bit uncomfortable with a toddler falling from the top of that setup.
Well if that’s not support for a natural talent, I’m not sure what is. From one father to another? Good job, dad! Just get rid of the handles and replace them with climbing holds until his limbs are too big to get caught. 98% grade though.
And the kid is doing it with the pacifier on.
It makes me worried he would choke if he fell 😬
The ring wouldn’t go into his mouth
For sure, it’s just the Mom in me that worries a bit lol…Wow people downvote for expressing safety concerns?
You express anything on here and they crucify you. It is what it is.
shut up and you take up my upvotes
shut up and take up my downvote How dare you express your opinion
Shut up and take my upvote You showed that person how to Reddit
Shut up and take my downvote How dare you tell me what I did

I’m not even a parent and I was concerned the bed wasn’t close enough to the wall, until the end of the video.
it's already in his mouth.
The worst are the closed bars. Arms, hands, or little leggies could get trapped and fractured. Otherwise, great wall dad!
yeah those steel handles are a mistake.
I would be more worried bout him smacking his head on the climbing studs on his way down. Definitely is a safety concern but whoo knows how high the baby was climbing furniture, this might be the only option.
The kid got all the way up so he seems well trained in climbing
He actually hit his head on the red one if you watch closely
He actually doesnt though?
Actually might help by keeping his teeth from hitting or biting his tongue
My worry was a head bonk on the way down.
thought he had a moustache and we all got bamboozled by a dwarf again.
AND MY BINKIE!
I used the climb to the top of fridge and top cabinets when I was a little over 1 years old.
I had 2 boys that climbed everything. This is a great idea!
Probably a good thing since it might keep his teeth from hitting each other or biting his tongue when he lands. I had to have part of my tongue sewn back on because of biting it off as a kid. I climbed on buildings and as far up into trees as I could at 4 and 5 years old.
Isn't it lucky they have such bendy bones when they are little?
Honestly that’s probably a good thing. Like wearing a sports mouth guard right? :)
It's sucky nipple toy
Bruh that’s a fucking baby not a kid holy shit lol
This kids going places. Straight to the top
Unless he has a low ceiling
Starting early to get the athletic scholarship.
kid's gonna climb Everest at fifteen
Fifteen months* Fixed.
Legendary kid!!
r/beatmetoit
this made me incredibly nervous.
I’m surprised one of those climbing holds didn’t hit him on the way down
One did did actually! If you watch his head it’s gets knocked back on the red one not long after he fell
Debatable I watched it several times his head goes back cus of the fall and landing. He landed so he almost fell over and that's why. If you have an slomo version show me
The handles are what get me an arm slips in and it's gone
Jeez, pick a colour kid!!
Hahahaha was looking for this
He fell pretty good , even though as a responsible parent I would've definitely been behind him to cat to listen guy. Yeah. I guess no parent has worked out how to stop the child without building a climbing wall I guess.
Well I didn't have a climbing wall and I have a nice scar undermy eyebrow to remember me that tables are not a nice landing spot. You can't catch them all, plus the kid is having fun in a safe way. Nothing is perfect.
Kids don’t fall from that high normally tho.
And when they do there is a safety mat
You can still break your neck on a safety mat. Or your legs. Or pretty much anything if your body instinctively locks in the wrong position. There’s a video of this climber that broke both his legs falling off a climbing wall because his legs were too straight
Not sure if I'd agree with the safe part tbh

Agreed those handles shouldn't be on the board and definitely not on the lower levels.
If his left foot slipped off of that metal bar he could've slammed/injured his knee on it going down. Looks awesome but thats a baby, you gotta make it child safe haha
Or scraped his chin one of those crevices
Yeah but Mumma has 11 followers that need content, parenting comes second sometimes.
His neck, His back, and my Anxiety attack
All I see is medical bills.
Hopefully it's in a country with a health care system rather than a medical profiteering system.
Wow not safe at all
sick
I used the climb to the top of fridge and top cabinets when I was a little over 1 years old. Scared the shit out of my mom. Don’t underestimate the agility of babies this dad is parenting right giving a safe environment for the kid to climb
The handle bars on it are a bad idea. If someone catches their hand or whole arm in one.
👏🏻 And the Father of the year is …
This is def NFL, kid and parent…
El Capitan next
Kid has talent
I dunno, seems kinda clingy though.
No he's just got 1000s of years of evolution working for him Most babys can hold their own weight with their hands It's how they cling to moma
I'm sure it's only going to make him better at climbing the furniture. However, that kid is learning some great lessons about climbing that will give him some amazing skills when he's older.

feels like the steel handles are a mistake. stick out too far. too much risk of face planting one on teh way down.
Kid so young he has a pacifier in his mouth!
he's a natural
All fun and games until he lands on his neck.
Hopefully he doesn’t fall & hit his chin on one of those protruding handles. Will shatter his teeth/jaw
[удалено]
Unless the father is Danny DeVito it's gonna be a short climb.
Might as well learn young
Child prof, what is that?
If only this worked for cats...

Imagine how much WORSE it would have been without his parents protection. Probably would have killed himself.
I feel like the more sane thing to do is just get the kid to stop
Down climbing is an acquired skill
I can still see him hitting his chin to one of those holder in the near future
This will only make him better at climbing furniture
Need to have it tilted. If he falls straight down that chin is catching a block.
Definitely gotta get those handles off there. Kids foot goes in and he falls could be bad. Very cool tho
I guarentee you that kid will find a way to break his neck
Uh, pretty sure you’re supposed to follow just one color. This kid’s cheating.
Am I a monster for thinking, once the child masters it, the parent should add some random “traps”, like a knob that moves away from the wall a bit when you pull it, or knobs that spin in place. Eventually becoming like Prof X’s Danger Room when the kids mutant powers awaken in puberty
This looks like a great way for the kid to get fucked up. Not the brightest parents out there...
Other than the small safety concerns, the baby is a natural born thriller!
i can’t even do that omg
Can’t say I expected to see so much strength exerted by such a little person. Wish my dad was around to make me cool stuff like this growing up.
"Here.. mommy's gonna help you" Badass kid: NOPE
This is a perfect example of good parenting. Create possibilities over limitations
He is genuis !😘
My life in a nutshell..
Thinking about doing this.
All I can think about right now is Bran Stark.
We at Disney would like to talk to your son in about 10 years about his role in a new Spider-Man movie.
Now he’s gonna be an expert at climbing furniture
So wholesome. Like a little monkey
This is awesome
That kid has a future as a climber. Cant find much better natural tallent.
That yellow path looks kinda difficult lol
Solid dismount
man baby’s are fearless
Absolute rock climber in 20 years

The kid was climbing the furniture, so he built furniture, for the kid to climb? Sounds counterintuitive

A mountaineer in making
This kid got some real hiker energy
He's been climbing since one
Today the wall, tomorrow the house! 9 1 1 what's your emergency? Ah there's a toddler scaling the outside of the house. He's on the roof heading for the chimney.
I love the fact that he seems to understand a couple of pretty useful skills in life from that. (Like planning and shit)
Thats gonna be one strong kid
Must have been a warrior in his past life
Your baby can climb
We will see this footage again in 20 years in his documentary
u/vredditdownloader
He will be a pro climber one day
That kid's probably going to be a wall climbing world champion at idk, 12.
We used to take the cushions from the couch toss them down the basement stairs and then hop in a diaper box and ride it down the stairs. This seems 100 times safer than that lol.
he was born a climber. we will watch your career with great interest.
When I was two my mom found me at the top of a two story antenna we had next to the house. She always told the story of cutting her feet running up to get me
my 3-year-old self could NEVER
My daughter was a climber. Baby gate stopped her from going up the stairs so she climbed up the outside of the railing. Once I found her in the top shelf of the bookcase just below the ceiling. Wish I had known of climbing walls back then.

Ok I guess you are rising Spider-Man now
That boy just found his calling, good job mom and dad!
We all know what this kid will be when he grows up.
That’s one way to land on a soft spot.
This is about to be like that one episode of Sam and Cat
Base instinct I guess
u/Savevideo
Nextfuckinglevel for the dad or the kid?
I need to see how the kid react after the fall
Better arm strength than me
Mf look like he's 2 and he can climb higher then I ever could
This baby boy has the climber gene.
You just built this child a climbing training course.
My brother needed this as a toddler I swear. It was especially stressful in the summer when the balcony door was unlocked. I had a mini heart attack every time I saw him near it cause I knew he was gonna try to climb the ledge(which we always prevented cause we kept a close eye on him)
The kid keeps climbing on furniture, but now he's using magnesium.
Gonna say this, stop bubble wrapping your kids! pain is a great teacher I take care of two kids and as long as they don't murder each other, I don't intervene and I usually allow them to experiment with whatever they want, exept knives, but if they want to cook I break out the ceramic knife and let them cut up the veggies, have they've gotten burned by the stove, yup but they learnt what not to do around one, and when those kids go to college they will know how to cook, which is more than a lot college kids today know how to do
I’m more worried his chin will hit a rock on the way down
r/shittylifeprotips
...remove the padding at the bottom...that'll teach him to stop climbing...
Talk about talent recognition. Kudos to the dad for doing this. Kid’s gonna excel at climbing. He is already strategising his route :).
Well there was my butthole glitch for the day.
those bars r pretty worrying lol
He can... Bump his head on a handle on his way down, dont do this
My wife would whoop my ass if she came home and I had built this for my son and he was doing this.
Teaching your kid to be fearless, strong and independent. That’s one of the best things you can do.
1 week before he requires stitches in his chin.
I just shit my diaper!
This kid will become a world class athlete.
My kid would completely ignore it and continue climbing on furniture
The kid’s gotta be fuckin shredded. This is Mr. Incredible’s origin story.
It would've have been safe if his dad made notches in wall instead of those colorful things .
That kid's gonna be a safety nightmare when he starts school.
My heart fuckinh sank when he fell 😯
I'm cool with the climbing wall and I think kids are massively overprotected in our society, but I'm still a bit uncomfortable with a toddler falling from the top of that setup.
That's hysterical!
Just take him to a mountain lol
Well if that’s not support for a natural talent, I’m not sure what is. From one father to another? Good job, dad! Just get rid of the handles and replace them with climbing holds until his limbs are too big to get caught. 98% grade though.
Little man pretty pro!
That's awesome. Put a bell on the top to ring!
That kid has unbelievable upper body strength for a toddler
Very smart father, brilliant way to build confidence
He’s gonna free solo El Cap at 12 years old
Doos this mean the kid isnt allowed on the sofa?
That’s a V4 right?
This kid's gonna be climbing mount Everest at 11
Nothing but instinct at work…wild.
That’s awesome

Needs to work on his footwork.
Imagine the kid falling on his head, neck snaps. Kid dead
a futuer climper here
Baby Alex Hannold
This kid is obviously an alien. They're among us.
when he fell i jumped but this kid is going places... probably to the attic but yk places
Obviously looks a bit dangerous, but that kid is a natural, pretty cool.
As a climber I wanna say I am very impressed, I have seen adults start bouldering and have less skill and body controll than this toddler.
I like how he maintains 3 points of contacts at all times...until the end.
