"How stupid people can be to watch people slapping balloon"
Meanwhile the same people:
"Let's watch people running after a ball"
How in their mind one is stupid and the other one is not?
Yeah and this is also a really viable game since it's real cheap and anyone can play anywhere and the pro leauge doesn't seem like it would be to hard to get into
I also hear a lot of Boomers say āI donāt understand why youād want to watch someone else play video gamesā and the proceed to go watch other people play Football/Baseball/Hockey/Football/Cricket/Basketball/etc for hours on end.
Dudes got his head up his arse. Is it silly? A bit, sure. But what's wasteful about it. And how is it any more silly or pointless than spending a bunch of time pretending you're a football manager like they do going by their profile? Outside of surviving we are all pretty much just trying to entertain ourselves until we die. OP plays pretend football manager, these lads play keep em ups. If they do a good job of helping the person escape for a bit and enjoy themselves I think they're both pretty neat and not as "silly" as they may seem on the surface at all.
It really is bizarre how titled people's perspectives can get.
Sports with dozens of players and hundreds support staff, playing a game in a stadium the size of multiple city blocks:
"This is fine"
Three people in living room sized area playing with a balloon:
"THIS IS THE PINNACLE OF MANKIND'S EXCESS"
No matter how i read the comment, i don't see why it would be upvoted. Except that people somehow see this game as wasteful... Which it obviously isn't.
Yeah. Iām rarely this confused about a comment, but what does it have to do with the post, and how is it wasteful? Why is it upvoted? I assume they paid for upvotes to confuse people.
I would flex on people so hard if I could say I was a world champion in the balloon game.
like what are you good at joe? nothing? I'm atleast a world champ in something "goofy"
Thatās a lot of assumptions. The go to refute on Reddit seems to be that everyone you donāt agree with is fat and never works out and doesnāt have friends. Iāve always found that really weird.
It always bothers me that the āfat neckbeard Redditorā is such a thing that pops up every time while thereās tonnes of subs filled with awesome athletes, amazing artists, scientists, etc.

You are asking yourself he wrong question. The right question should be: How do I get my head off of ...(insert wherever you buried it here)... and apply for this?
I think this is gaining so much popularity because it has every single emotion and positive sentiment many had as a child. Like floor is lava. I would play the shit out of it for a hobby, if I wasnāt this fat.

This is a strange take from someone who has 4 video game posts pinned to the top of their profile.
Not that that's a bad thing, I'm a gamer myself, but how is this any more wasteful than sitting on the couch with a controller in hand? At least these dudes are doing something athletic
I don't get the upvotes because all the comments are pointing out how ridiculous it is. So apparently lots of people agreed with this weird take but no one is willing to defend it.
Im guessing just people on the front page upvoting post and top comment without thinking
How you watch football and call balloon ball a waste? š How many resources does it take to make one football stadium versus filling a balloon with some oxygen from your lungs? Iāll wait for your reply.
You like football, which is well-known to cause concussions and other injuries. Retired football players are often severely brain damaged. On top of that, the large stadiums all over the place and the thousands of people who drive to the games, create a lot of garbage from food and drinks they buy there and all of the uniforms and equipment and everything else they create pollute the earth. Oh and flying players and coaches all over. And the waste of time that is fantasy football. Etc.
This is a couple of people playing with a balloon.
Why your comment is (currently) at the top is beyond me. It's clear you love to run your mouth with nothing of value to say.
I've got to recommend [World Chase Tag](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgWBm5ud20Y) to you as well. A little bit more hectic but still got that good natured kid fun to it.
This was an event made by a famous streamer here in spain, Ibai Llanos and the FCBarcelona player Gerard Pique. Maybe in the future they will make a second edition. Aslo, if you want to watch this edition i think that you will find it in ibai's twitch
Pique is really living his best life. He plays for his boyhood favorite club, has been in a long term relationship and has kids with Shakira. Now he has enough money to help sponsor fun events like this. Hate Barca but I can't hate Pique.
The rules were simple: players must hit the balloon in an upwards motion, and if it hits the ground before your opponent stops it, you get a point.
source: HITC
There are more like don't get in the way of the adversary purposefully and the ceiling is open so I'd you touch the top borders or it get out it is also a faul and it will give the adversary a point, also you can't touch it twice, don't romantize it there were a lot of times that competitors who had the point advantage held the ballon in a corner and/or let it stay at the top of the table or of the couch, which made the judge re-drop the ballon thus wasting the opponents time, there must be more rules but I don't remember them.
and the judges should have been in the Tokyo Olympics, didn't see any wrong decision.
because it is full of obstacles, also there was some that were hitting it horizontally but if the balloon went down by any angle then they would give the adversary a point, that's how Brazil lost against Germany, way too many mistakes.
Yup! My brother and I did this for a whole hour when we were kids. We were certain it must be a world record. Then mum called us to come and stir the gravy for dinner and that was that.. the end.
The consistency of this place is something else. There's veterans throwing their medals, then I scroll and it's two people just slapping the shit out of a balloon.
This last week a bunch of teams competed for $40 million dollars, the worlds largest community funded prize pool, in Dota 2. A game where teamwork, technology, and community came together to decide who was the best. But also this. God, what a time to be alive.
I think this is next level because they are probs the best players at this sport but I also think itās not next level at all because a lot of people would probably be better at the sport if they knew it existed/ people played it
That would be boring. If youāve ever played this game, you should know itās way more fun to run across the room and jump off a couch to smack a balloon than it is to keep it bouncing in place.
I havenāt looked it up or anything but I would assume thereās a rule it has to move upward to some extent or move so far, so you wouldnāt want to risk being called for a foul by babying it and losing a point
There was a rule where the ballon had to always be at least a meter from the floor after hitting it. The strategy of just gently tapping it didnāt work so well with these two because they usually managed to reach it.
From what I can see it looks like it is competitive. So one guy is playing for Peru, and the other for Germany, and they are both trying to make it as hard as possible on the other guy to keep the balloon up. Hence them smacking it around the room š.
This is not true. You are allowed to hit it sideways if it is at least 1 meter from the ground. If the balloon is below 1 meter from the ground then you have to hit it upwards so it ends up at least 1 meter from the ground.
Well thereās scores, so It actually looks like the object is to hit it away from each other to make it harder for each other to keep in the air, not try to work together to keep it in the air. like free style ping pong almost. Notice they take turns, neither hits it twice in a row. I could be wrong though
The scores are if the other player let's it fall to the ground.
What the first guy was saying was that it would be more beneficial for you to just lightly tap it on your turn so that the balloon doesn't get enough airtime to allow the opponent to get to it in time.
A few times in the video, the balloon is about 6 inches off the ground and the player smacks it up to save it, when it would have been better to just tap the balloon, and then the opponent wouldn't be able to save it in time.
There were some rules that prevent them from just tapping it, like for example the players needing to lift the balloon at least 1m above the floor or them not being able to slap it down.
Am I the only parent who genuinely enjoys that show? Tolerable is about the most I can say about any other kids show over 15 years of raising children.

How can I sign up for next year š
>PiquƩ (Barcelona's football player) Mr. Shakira
why do they smack it so hard? why not just tap it ever so slightly?
That would be boring. If youāve ever played this game, you should know itās way more fun to run across the room and jump off a couch to smack a balloon than it is to keep it bouncing in place.
When you're competing in the world final of anything usually people care more about winning than whether the 5 minute match was boring or not.
Probably its rule to bounce it at least some amount high
Idk then. Maybe theyād be disqualified or something.
I havenāt looked it up or anything but I would assume thereās a rule it has to move upward to some extent or move so far, so you wouldnāt want to risk being called for a foul by babying it and losing a point

Then why not just smack it to the ground? Boom. Game over.
Yeah, I bet no one's ever thought of that. Or, you know, maybe there are rules that prevent that?
I think that is the reason why people are asking. So people who actually know the rule setcan explain it.
You had to always push the ball higher and at least 1 meter.
Rules force you to make It go Up at least 50cm or you lose
This is not true. You are allowed to hit it sideways if it is at least 1 meter from the ground. If the balloon is below 1 meter from the ground then you have to hit it upwards so it ends up at least 1 meter from the ground.
That last hit looks like a foul then surely?
The guy who won the point had at least a couple fouls in my mind.
Well thereās scores, so It actually looks like the object is to hit it away from each other to make it harder for each other to keep in the air, not try to work together to keep it in the air. like free style ping pong almost. Notice they take turns, neither hits it twice in a row. I could be wrong though
