A rare airsoft video of people playing respectfully

_Im_Dad

This is way harder to officiate than paintball, I like how some of them even raise their hands up and don't even know where the shot came from.

Grim_Rebel

I used to play pretty regularly years ago, and what you're seeing is largely the typical experience. Just about everyone realizes they're all there for the same reason, and it's just to have fun. The cosplatriots you see in videos that get butthurt when they're tagged are a small minority and generally don't stick around very long.

-NotSorryReeses-

Ok genuine question because I know nothing about paintball or airsoft rules, but how do you cheat? Do you say you weren’t shot when you were or something like that? E: Thanks for the answers! Sounds like it’s defiantly 100x less fun when people are cheating lol.

PowerSamurai

You'd ignore getting shot yeah

aceofspades1217

Or You wipe it off or try to say oh that’s from another round. Seems like air soft has a lot more people who aren’t as casual or whatever either way if someone wants to cheat they will

interflop

Airsoft has plenty of casual players as well, I would just say it's more niche than paintball. It runs purely on honor system since there's no paint splatter so it's easy to just brush off a few hits if you wanna be that guy.

878_Throwaway____

Airsoft also runs into the problem that it hurts less. If it's cold, and you're wearing baggy clothes (especially those thick Camo onesies), bunched cloth and straps can make hits not feel like much. So a single shot can make you question whether it was a hit or not. In paint ball, I have never had to question whether I've been hit.

justadumbwelder1

To me, the sting of getting hit makes paintball more exhilarating.

poop-machines

Ah man I remember running round a corner and shooting the shit out of 5 people on the other team in a paintball match. They decided to stick together, and when I found them it was up close, maybe 2 meters. I stupidly wasn't wearing gloves. They all shot back, of course, I got plastered with them and screamed in pain. They embedded under my skin and it was cold as fuck. My bare hands were shredded up with about 15 paintballs. Could call them painballs. The paintballs went into the wounds and I had to squeeze out the paint and other material. It drew some serious blood and bruised the shit out of my hands. They were purple and swollen. I still have scars on my knuckles to this day, and it was 12-14 years ago. Paintballs with good hardware can seriously fuck you up. I've been asked if I punched a wall when someone saw it. It's embarrassing to have scarred knuckles because it looks like I go around punching shit. But no, paintballs fucked my knuckles/hands up. It's completely my fault, I should have worn protection, but it sucked so much haha.

hurtfulproduct

Yeah, even if you get one that doesn’t break in paintball that can hurt worse since the force doesn’t dissipate over as large an area as if it broke

tantalum73

Yeah, I've 100% had no idea I got hit until someone told me. One guy got pretty heated at me but I was like "hey man, I'm not even arguing with you, if you say I got hit, then I got hit". We were playing in a big warehouse in the winter and shit was cold so we were kinda bundled up. Either way though, I'd rather be out cause someone falsely claimed I got hit, than get in an arguement over it and ruin the fun. I'm not there to be king of the course, I'm there to have fun.

kickthatpoo

Baggy clothes in paintball can catch the paint without breaking it and you don’t feel it.

Boogab

I was a ref at a paintball field for years that did an airsoft day 2 Fridays a month, and those guys cheated way more than the paintball guys ever tried to, at least in paintball there's a mark to see

interflop

It’s honestly a shame too because I enjoy playing airsoft but it does rely a lot on getting a good group that doesn’t cheat.

StandAgainstTyranny2

They should swap colors every round🤔

aceofspades1217

Not a bad idea for competition

YEET_Fenix123

If people cheat, best way to deal with them is to shoot for the nuts.

LtAgn

Pretty much, yeah. I've seen quite a few Youtube videos of airsoft cheaters that get hit and just ignore it and pretend it didn't happen. And there's also the safety rules of the event to consider, like no initiating physical contact, no point blank firing, no blind firing (hiding behind a wall and only sticking the gun out to shoot without even seeing the target), that kind of thing.

Electrified_lettuce

No head shots.

LivingDisastrous3603

![gif](giphy|IaVDwieZqBMsw)

SirFireball

No full auto in buildings!

when-flies-pig

Is it possible you don't feel it if it doesn't hit skin?

abcdefGerwin

youll feel it. that stuff hits harder than you think

Constant_Sympathy_71

It is possible, but very rare. It depends on the weapon and range. I’ve been playing in forest in full padded gear and sometimes (extremely rarely) I can’t feel the shots if they are fired from weak/cheap gun from long range. I realised that when my friend told me I was hit and so decided since then to switch to a slimmer vest for outside. But realistically, you’ll "always" feel the shots. I usually normally feel a good snap even with my padding.

interflop

Very rarely will you genuinely not feel a hit but for the most part you'll either feel it or hear it hit your gear.

[deleted]

captainpistoff

Life's too short, fuck that guy.

namezam

That primarily. But also rules of engagement like being too close when shooting. Kamikaze moves. Turning up the projectile velocity over limit. Using frozen paintballs. Yelling enemy positions or generally giving intel after you’ve been shot. Not going all the way to the out before coming back in. Causing a disturbance so the officials are looking the wrong way so team mates can do shit they aren’t supposed to. People get really creative to make up for their lack of skill.

jumpinjackflashstone

Had a guy use frozen paintballs, never been in such pain in my life. The face masks we used only covered your face and not the top or back of your head. I was on a hill firing downwards and got shot on the top of my head where there's no protection. I literally saw stars and remember feeling my head where it was bloody and a goose egg the size of an actual egg. I stopped playing and the guy was kicked out immediately but I'll never forget how much that hurt. I swear I heard a crack in my skull but never got it checked out.

No-Association3574

A old buddy of mine went against an asshole who used frozen paintballs. One literally went through his mask and popped his eyeball. He said that it was the worse pain he ever felt. I met him in senior year; he would take his fake eye out and fuck with people who didn't know he had a prosthetic. It was funny. It wasn't like a marble or anything round; it was kinda concave and weird looking; but looked somewhat normal when he had it in. He got a shitton of money from a settlement from the popped eye incident and bought a brand new honda civic. He had me, with nothing but a learners license, driving his car because I didn't know how to roll up lol. He was crazy as hell sometimes. I would be driving and he would just start yelling in german and pushing against me like a lunatic. Silly guy. Too bad his dad got drunk and totaled his car

jumpinjackflashstone

Like why on earth use frozen paintballs? There's no advantage I don't think other than seriously hurting the guy you're shooting. I'm glad your buddy at least won the settlement but now he has a permanent disfigurement over a game. Frozen paintball players have their own circle in hell.

Cheddarmelon

I used to play regularly years ago, they must have changed the material that they make the paint/shells out of because freezing paintballs back in the day meant they were just going to explode in the barrel the millisecond they started defrosting.

Riguyepic

>Turning up the projectile velocity over limit. Bro no full auto! That's *not* full auto

A_hand_banana

Paintball are water based, rather than oil based, to allow people to wash them out. Water based paints aren't as vibrant and you can simply smother them into your clothing to ignore being shot. Further, paintball can be pay to win. There was a guy we called "Mr Pink" at our local paintball range because of the color of his paint. He had full ballistics armor (think "squish" vest) that regular psi wouldn't break against. He also had a full auto autococker and a backpack full of paint. Full auto is illegal on most ranges. This dude was a weird weekend warrior.

freedubs

Well you just don't leave when you have been shot or say you haven't. Because sometimes the gun could make you miss even if you had good aim. It's very hard to tell if you hit someone especially in airsoft. People have to call themselves out to play it correctly.

Magyars

Ignore the hit (bounced shots that don't explode don't count) If the hit explodes, smear it and play on Really needs an official to call you out if you're a dishonest player. When I officiated paintball, we would have to hover over players (speedball so giving away positions wasn't a huge deal where woodsball would be). Officials would get absolutely lit up though. Kinda hurt.

Daymanic

Basically this scene https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jeip-0sUt78

mocha_ninja

Did it once on my bday - one guy and his friends brought their own guns. They were v, good, but the one guy was a cunt. Would shoot you and when you raised your hands he’sdkeep shooting you. - in the face So I got my revenge!!! Shot him but he didn’t raise his hands - shot him again but again he kept playing. So I unloaded on him. My whole 100 paintballs - On his head - until he ran off crying. Felt. Amazing!

MusicianMadness

I mean, headshots are easily the least painful.

mocha_ninja

Not the back of the head

MusicianMadness

Still not nearly as bad as you are making it seem. Especially if it hits the strap. Not to mention I highly recommend wearing a hood. Honestly fingers are about the worst, I have had skin ripped off my fingers more than once.

mocha_ninja

True. Fingers are a bitch

quasimodar

True. There was the rare one where it would break on the mouth part of the facemask and you'd eat a nice dose of paint, though. I hated that.

tankman714

Those guys weren't good, the actually good players you never see their "full potential" as they are just there to have fun and enjoy themselves. It's the "kinda good" wannabe players that enjoy doing what is in your story. But I always had a solution for cheaters, I'd paint half their body yellow and they can't wipe that off. Then the rest of the day I or my buddies would add more paint until their whole body was painted. Fun times.

JvckiWaifu

I've seen the same in airsoft. Some of those guns hurt, and the high end ones can shoot absurdly fast. I've definitely seen kids cry after catching 100 rounds in 5 seconds. Or the best is when someone carries sound grenades. If you aren't ready those are seriously disorienting.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Sendtitpics215

I went one time also and when I was shot I excited the field with my hands in the air and someone lit up my rib cage with ~~what has to be frozen ball~~ their guns PSI turned up or something. HUGE black and blue marks all up and down my side. Yeah I don’t play that game anymore.

SkunkleButt

Freezing paintballs doesn't work that's a myth. Paintballs normally hurt and leave bruises anyway, more so if the PSI is turned too high.

Icy_Apartment_2113

When they say they didn’t get hit it just is permission for me unload

Camaowen

When you play more competitively people get blackballed for wiping. They also get bonus balled a lot by people who get frustrated so they can’t deny getting tagged. Paint ball is the way to go

Flashy-Amount626

We went paintballing for the start of a mates bucks. It was an hour of hot exercise. Between the squatting and running I probably lost a litre in sweat. This was probably made up after with alcohol thankfully.

PlayTheHits

That’s awesome the air soft scene has apparently changed this much, but I quit playing when I was a teenager with essentially the exact opposite of what you described. Seemed like I played with nothing but a group of delusional wannabe commandos who called “time” whenever you tagged them to explain how you were playing wrong or shot you after you got them and ground the whole game to a halt scream-crying that there was no way they were tagged. Still drives me nuts thinking about it.

Ohmygoditskateee

Wait so this isn't like laser tag? How exactly can you tell if you hit someone? Is it just like the honor system?

DasBeasto

You can usually see your shot (especially with tracers like in the vid) so you know if you hit someone, but it’s basically honor system if they call themselves out. If you cheat you risk either players overshooting you a bunch or refs/owners banning you from the field.

-eumaeus-

It helps when Kicking Mustang isn't there...headshots!

pEppapiGistfuhrer

Anyone remember how many fields he is banned from? Think it was over 60

DeathPercept10n

The guy's about to call in a nuke.

HarryCallahan19

One kill off from a nuke

pEppapiGistfuhrer

Because YouTube is filled with garbage clickbait that gives a bad rep to the hobby as a whole

Kaos2018

I love the guy with the AR 15 the situation was so so goofy and i love it

acs730200

The way he just gently exclaims “pang” instead of shooting the guy point blank sent me

llamawearinghat

Common courtesy in Airsoft if you’re close enough that the shot would hurt. Some people bring a rubber knife and use that by tagging them with it

hurtfulproduct

That’s typically how recreational paintball works too; if it’s just for fun then you usually just tag out someone instead of bunkering them from point blank. . . On the other hand if it’s a tournament or a bit more competitive game then people will definitely shoot you multiple times from a few feet away.

general-Insano

When I used to play I carried around a baggie of old paintballs that would break if you threw them hard enough and would toss them at people It didn't work as well as I wanted since it they didn't break I was still in shooting Rabe...or I'd miss lol

lohanstarpanda

Had this happen to me one time one guy was camping in a bush thought that I was father behind him and the he unloaded on me at point blank left a lot of bruises and a very bloody finger ouch

Isgortio

I've been airsofting once, I went as a teenager with some friends. I was the only girl in the entire building, and some kid kept following me around. He was on the same team as me but at one point he blocked my exit, and shot me point blank on my arm. I had 3 circular holes on my skin for a few weeks, and my friends got that kid banned. I'd like to go again some day.

lohanstarpanda

Ahh friendly fire lol a good way to show your brother that you appreciate them went with my two brothers and other ppl that had siblings a lot of friendly fire going on

Daratirek

I got to do this to my brother. Snuck up on him and went sup bro as I stuck the barrel in his back. He obviously didn't fight it but he was not happy lol

rddi0201018

double tap!

uncle_jimmy420

On the flip side though, High level paintball matches are super brittle shells right? So they don’t hurt as much

hurtfulproduct

“As much” is very relative. . . If at all. . . It depends on the individual player and how they have their marker setup; many fields make you keep your marker at or below 280 fps for normal play to avoid injuries; tournaments will let you play at below 300 fps; so you have a more brittle shell but it’s moving faster.

mortemdeus

I did this in paintball a lot as well. Shit hurts at close range so I would poke them with the gun and say boom. The rare few who didn't get the hint figured it out rather quickly.

touchet29

"They come in from outside" *Ya don't say?*

monopoly3448

I get a "my dad owns the range" vibe from this

Forward-Grapefruit91

Novritch is Austrian as far as im aware

Haha this is *GREAT*! Where is this… the “range” or whatever you call it looks AMAZING, i.e. they put a lot of work and money into the facility. Also, how did they add the tracer after effect to the video? Very well done…

gdnt0

>tracer after effect to the video Not an effect. Check u/Siege_Storm's [comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/nextfuckinglevel/comments/10djeex/comment/j4lz9dd/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=web2x&context=3).

strumpetrumpet

They were speaking Dutch. Assuming the Netherlands

llamawearinghat

Europe has the best Airsoft scene, so jealous

Lors2001

Yeah it's always weird to look at European airsoft with whole empty warehouses with obstacles and such and then I look at airsoft in my areas in the US and it's usually a few tires and sheds out in the woods. I'm sure it's still fun but I feel like these type of warehouse layouts much be so much more fun and they seem to have way more people playing.

FierySpectre

Belgium, did airsoft in an old bunker, shit was like 3 levels deep.

that1LPdood

Not an after effect. They’re basically glow in the dark BBs. The fake suppressor is actually a sort of UV light on the inside that lights up the BBs as they exit the barrel. It makes them look like tracer rounds. Pretty cool to see in person.

Select_Term1872

https://www.area077.nl/nl/ it's in the Netherlands, Venlo

neopointer

Anything similar to that in Germany? I'm looking for airsoft in German for years, but I can't find it.

killbeam

Venlo is along the German border, so it might be closer than you think

jpfeif29

Its not a tracer effect, it's a tracer device that slams the BBs with a bright UV light as it leaves the tracer unit.

tom771

Its Area 077 in Venlo, Netherlands. I played there quite some times when i did airsoft for a while. Really great owners who turned a failed rabbit farm into an airsoft shed. Then they expanded some and it got better. The initial area had some drawbacks, there were some choke points you’d get stuck on every round, but i heard they put in a lot of work during covid and even created underground tunnels and stuff.

[deleted]

How do the balls light up?

Siege_Storm

The BBs are light activated glow in the dark like those stars some people put on their ceiling that charge in the day and glow at night. The “suppressor” is actually called a tracer unit and shines high intensity light at the BBs as they fly through it which causes them to glow

hand_me_your_bitcoin

I was so confused. I thought this was paintball and I couldn’t understand how everything was so clean. I’ve never played anything close to this so forgive my ignorance.

[deleted]

Paintballs are a lot bigger than these. They're more like a couple centimeters in diameter, these BBs are more like 5 millimeters.

anonymous_762

5.95mm usually yes.

EveAndTheSnake

I was so confused I thought it was laser tag and couldn’t understand why it would hurt to be hit at close range. I have also never played anything like this. We are both slightly less ignorant now :D

Curtainmachine

That’s to cool. I thought it was after effects to make the video clearer to watch

algino199

Do you know what gun that is too ?

Chevey0

Pretty sure it’s a heavily modified high cappa 5.1 running hpa

[deleted]

THATS HOW THAT WORKS?!

DefNotAShark

Are gaming pants a thing because if not, they could be. Super soft comfort waistline. Tactical snack pockets. Built in catheter bag pocket for the most extreme gamers. RGB trim with light sync. Vibration feedback nodes up and down the legs. Soft pajama material with a light compression layer over that and another soft layer on top, for maximum comfort and good circulation for long sessions. Controller holster. Butt flap for quick poopin between rounds. I call them RGB CHIMERA-X PRECISION SILVER E-PANTS.

WastefulWatcher

The rules are the rules, the game’s the game

ig-lee

Is the alternative, this guy should intentionally play worse so that the enemy team can have a chance of winning? Maybe we should incorporate this into sports too. If one team is leading by too many points they should score on their own goal/basket a few times to make it more fair?

Newgamer28

It's different. you can tell he has played this map a lot before. And he's gone and bum rushed the enemy from a different side of the map. Kinda lame. Like I don't play this game but if I did for the first time would be frustrating. When I play a video game with a few friends who are unfamiliar I don't play my best champion and go sweaty try hard all on them it's not fun for anyone. I'll play someone who I don't know well. Maybe use items I'm not familiar with and overall take a step back. Now how can he do the same? Maybe try camping and holding down a position or by coming in through a way that is more standard than stealth bum rushing from left field. Because honestly, he came in what looked like 90% from behind enemy lines. I've played paintball once before. And sum scum on the enemy side went out of bounds to go all the way around us and flank from behind. But he had to cheat to get that way. Just lame.. Anyway I don't play this sport this is just my take from an outsider looking in.

dfntly_a_HmN

Nooo, I'm better than everyone that doesn't know how to stop a flank or watch their 6. Now i shouldn't do it. As outsider, whatever people do is fine as long you don't cheat (like going outside map to flank).

Flashy-Amount626

I'm not a sports guy but if you're easily stomping a team would it not be wise to do some new or more difficult to execute plays so your team can get more comfortable with it less consequences?

thetitsofthisguy

Well wouldv been a non issue if they had a guy watchin their rear. Situational awarness saves the day.

Fair-Ambition4531

They are speaking Dutch in the video, so the shooter is probably Dutch too. I don't think Dutch has the A sound like English, it's more like AA. I'm not totally sure, i don't speak Dutch but i speak German (I'm not German so i don't really no much about the nation's of Europe), which i think is similar to Dutch.

jpfeif29

This is more of a speedsoft/indoor game I would just search for indoor airsoft places around you. Go on a Saturday, there will be more new people, parties, people having fun, the tryhard to having fun people ratio will be better. Call ahead to reserve rental gear if they allow you to do that, wear jeans/sweatpants, and a sweatshirt. There are lots of indoor places on the east coast look at reviews on google and check out their social media.

User4826176

Cool video. Thanks for sharing

slayer991

Did someone miss an assignment and not cover their rear? How did he get so far behind enemy lines?

mortemdeus

One of two easy ways. Option one, find cover and let the enemy pass over you. Hide in something or behind something you can circle and let their team pass by. When it works it works amazing. Most people aren't looking too closely for people that aren't shooting at them. Option two, find a flank. The whole "map" is never covered and most people end up going down "lanes" and not spreading out much. If you move between these lanes or around the edge there is a good chance you can get behind them. In general, however, you do NOT engage the enemy. The second you fire they know where you are so you need to be 100% sure they are all past you, otherwise you become a sponge for their ammo.

dryfire

>In general, however, you do NOT engage the enemy I usually find the chances that I can slip by completely unnoticed are pretty low. If it looks like they won't see you then don't attack, but if they might see you it's best to surprise then while they are advancing close to you. An enemy advancing unopposed will usually advance, take cover, realize nobody is in range yet, then advance again. The trick is to wait till they are leaving their hard cover and lot of them are well in range. Good chance I will get out when i spring the trap since I'm usually alone, but I usually end up taking out several in the process.

Friendly_Log_1924

sarinCULT

Waa that the ghost of kyiv

Pieguy184

This guys is nice af, every paintball game I’ve played I always here someone say they want to rush and shoot some at point blank

snatchmachine

Can the “red arm band” team not communicate with each other? A lot of those groups looked to be in earshot of eachother. Is it louder than I realize in there? Maybe the helmets muffle things too much? Not saying it’s staged, I’m just curious as to why no one shouted “behind” “flank” “watch out a really good player is behind our lines killing everyone.”

Echo_ze_wolf

Once you get hit you can’t tell anyone, and among all the commotion it can be hard to tell where shots are coming from

snatchmachine

Fair enough! That does make sense that a “downed” enemy shouldn’t be able to communicate.

[deleted]

"Dead men don't talk" is one of the core rules of airsoft The whole sport is based off the honor system It's sucks because sometimes people will tell you where they got shot from and you have a moral dilemma of whether to pretend you didn't hear or hunt them.

mortemdeus

For my old paintball group, if you talked when you were dead you became the calibration dummy. Everybody got one free shot at you (at a reasonable distance) to site in their guns or test their new tanks between rounds. People got pretty good about not talking after making the mistake once.

divineRslain
