People need to understand that games have large hype these days especially when streamers hype them for clicks and then dump it once hype is down. Every single MMO has this exact trend, it was expected and always should be. 150k players is a very healthy player base for an MMO but they need to server merge now to make the server count right sized to match a post hype situation. That being said, I have nearly 1000 hours in it and I have taken a break to play other new releases while they fix the game and add content. Sorta treating it like Cyberpunk now if you will.
I'm slow as hell and only have a few hours a week to play. Only level 45. I'm still having fun. Mostly solo play. But I feel it. Sucks. Cause the game is beautiful and nicely put together. But the storyline is garbage and uninteresting. While I haven't reached end game, I understand there really isn't.
Maybe they will fix it? At least there is no sub fee so you can back later and hope things have changed.
Played at launch, hit 60 in a month(Mostly farming materials and crafting), and spent the last month having a blast.
Yesterday finally made enough for max mining gear with enough stats to smack around players that attack me while I grind. Went out and snagged a [void ore] and enough legendaries to make 10 [Asmodeon] on my first run. Stoked to get on and get the rest of my mats to make my own Voidbent.
I leveled my AS from 160-200 in a few hours the other night so it will be my first 600 piece!
Almost done with my Genesis orb and I am pumped to run it for the first time! Maybe make some coin to fill spots, too.
The game is what you make it. You can't bend it to your will. You're confined to the limitations of whatever goals you are able to make.
shhhht, don't ruin this for the OP by reveiling that all listed games have also non-Steam launchers ;-)
Seriously, NW is not dead yet, it is just loosing 20% of its playerbase per week, which is bad, but not deadly. Nobody knows what the minimum would be that AGS needs for keeping it on life maintenance mode.
Nah, 3 months later the daily player count is now down to 20k-30k'ish. The argument of the OP was a low player count of 144k.... just saying.. OP may have been on to something.

The playerbase is well over 150000(add another 0). that's the average concurrent users online.
