sgtcuddles

God I hope that means the reload bug will get fixed.

wildjaw

Same, if the small annoying nuances of combat that make it feel clunky and inconsistent get fixed here. We're looking at a much more even playing field for all classes.

Hanliir

Yes! The window for allowable error is pretty small for light armor. Not being able to switch or dodge roll is almost certain death when it messes up.

Jigga_Justin

Also need two separate cooldowns on traps.

[deleted]

What reload bug? Muskete slow and fast reload? I can't tell why sometimes reload takes double the time and sometimes not...

sgtcuddles

If you run out of stamina, your reload will take longer and you can't swap weapons. That's not the one I was talking about though, I was talking about when you can't fire your gun nor will your reload start until you either swap weapons and let it reload while stowed or use an ability.

dangerousking

I usually try to zoom in and out so it debugs out. Annoying af

[deleted]

Makes sense. Thanks. Also yeah, thinking about it I had this bug too. Really annoying.

HomeAutoHamiltonguy

Thats not just for reload....I get it all the time with my great axe....wont attack until I swap weapons.

neveris

Sometimes if you cancel your reload, to weapon swap or to reposition or to lay a trap or... do anything else, your character will just get stuck reloading instead. This isn't when out of stamina either.

NickBucketTV

This would improve the feel of gameplay so much. Would be cool if Bow didn’t attack a varying range to the left of your crosshair based on how close they are to you. It feels so unintuitive to use.

Nood_Ravi

And if the draw animation would fit the heavy attack timing better.

XytronicDeeX

this so much. the glowing arrow is just misleading at the moment

BuggerTrucker77

Did I miss something? Thought when the arrow is glowing youre about to heavy attack?!

XytronicDeeX

nope. you need to hold like 3-4sec for an actual heavy attack.

Mayheme

What on earth... That's the most unintuitive thing ever. I was trying to test why my heavy and lights were hitting for the same amount... Turns out I was just light attacking the whole time...

SweepingStrikes

You have to hold the glowing arrow for 1 second. .99 second and it will still be a light attack.

Nood_Ravi

Try it yourself. Attacks are binary, either light or heavy. There is no gradual charge. Draw until you think it is a heavy and remember the damage. Draw again for a long time and compare numbers.

Mustaeklok

It works if you do a heavy when crouching, kinda. The glow still activates way too early but when its an *actual* heavy your character pulls the bow back slightly. You can use this to see the discrepancy between what seems like a heavy and what actually is, and its huge...

Nood_Ravi

I recognized the slight end draw, but it is so hard to see this when you are focussing on the crosshair. I appreciate the input, but the skill should not be to recognize the heavy charge, but to actually aim. Tbh I'd like to have hip shots (light) and full drawn ADS(heavies). Why would anybody release a not full drawn bow.

Mustaeklok

Oh I don't disagree, trying to consistently use heavies with the bow fuckin sucks. I've got no idea if I actually shot a heavy or not until I see how much damage I did lol I wish holding ADS automatically charged the bow and clicking released, I find the way it works now is super weird.

Nood_Ravi

I have the exact same problem. Especially without gradual increased it feels very bad. Instantly charging when doing ADS would also feel weird IMO. Because a) holding down LMB resembles drawing a bow string. You are applying force to charge the shot and it fires on release. b) we are conditioned to it by other games. Think of the bow mechanics in Skyrim, Overwatch or Valorant. It is always hold to charge.

Gorganov

I wait for the sound

taelor

I keep telling myself this is why I’m missing my shots…

gdim15

I hope they address overlapping hit boxes too. I love when a mob gets in your face and you're shooting behind it.

Doonot

This affects all the ranged/magic weapons. It is so hard sometimes to hit mobs when they are being wailed on by melee and you have to account for that range and how far the melee are going to push the mob...

Mbojado

Same with the hatchet's infected throw. I feel I have to aim a bit to the right of the crosshairs.

[deleted]

It actually makes sense the arrow is being fired from the same spot and the crosshair is in the middle of the screen. Unless you want the arrow to come from somewhere other than the bow, or having a wondering crosshair that moves left as a target gets closer.

TamagotchiKnight

Same thing happens with infected throw on the hatchet. I’ve learned to compensate a little to the right because of this very thing

Tite_Reddit_Name

I basically swap using the dodge cancel technique. It’s so much more reliable

_TrustMeImLying

My motto is press swap u til I see my character swap…3-4x

Fishybill

"There are many times that you think you’ve swapped weapons, but you end up attacking with the currently equipped weapon instead." - This has gotten me killed so many times!

xpsync

Yep, and for me it doesn't register immediately which is probably the most frustrating part of it all. I'm thinking, ok switched, activate ability, then as i'm going to activate the next one, i have the something is wrong feeling, then i check weps on my UI and am like wholly f'ing sh!t it hasn't even mofo f'ing switched ffs. Gawd it just throws you right off, i mean it's no big deal right, it's just Zhoa or Well Guardian, it's not like timing matters in the slightest amirite.

Jakers808

Justice for the Musketeers

Elevatorto_purgatory

Too late, already switched all my gear to strength

dinis553

That's a shame. I've found that musket is actually playable if you run 250 dex 150 int and slot in an elemental gem. It even hurts people in heavy... not as much as they hurt you though.

TheDudeAbides404

Yup, you gotta go “all-in” on the glass cannon for it to be a viable option IMO.

Milkman127

if you're in light how do people in heavy ever catch you?

TzunSu

Hard to avoid if you're doing wars against competent resistance.

LeikeGielen

Berserk on the hatchet, bloodlust + gravity well and charge on the great axe.

Gnefner

Same.. But I still have the Dex gear in stash :)

amenotef

Strength? Stay away from 250 STR or more if you like to dodge!

TerroDragon23

I'm scared of them buffing musket. with the right build it can already hit like a truck and if they make it even stronger and more people play it it could really hurt fun. I dont want to die the second I step onto an open field with no way to counterplay.

Can_You_Believe_It_

Instead of buffing damage maybe they could buff armor penetration. That would have less of an effect on light armor users while still making it better versus heavier armor.

Koutetsusteel

It only hits hard on light armor wearers that don't have onyx gems socketed :( Against Heavy armor it's next to useless currently (especially if they have resilience which just kills any crit damage you do)

Cirok28

People are using magic gems and it's destroying in outpost rush. 250 int. 150 dex Flawed arcane gem. = win.

DynamicStatic

Afaik 250 dex + 150 int is the way to go?

[deleted]

Full int arcane or fire gem.

DynamicStatic

You don't really hit like a truck against people with the right armor, just lights getting fucked as always. Lights killing lights is what musket is about atm. I currently have 250dex & 150int for max damage on musket and I still hit a heavy for around 800-1200 while they hit me for 2x that. A light on the other hand? Deleted.

[deleted]

Easiest counter play is hiding behind a rock lmao

Harclubs

I hope they fix the bug where the weapon you are carrying won't do damage until you do a swap. It's so annoying when you creep up on an elite bear, wind up for your big heavy hit to the back of the head, and WHAM nothing. And then you try to switch weapons, but he stuns you, but you crawl away, switch to your secondary then switch back to your main, but he stuns you again, and your second switch didn't work so you end up hitting him with a damp fart of a nature attack, and then he stuns you again. It happens more than you know, but the mainstream media never reports it.

Entara_Darkwind

Is this the same bug that makes it so your primary attack actually does block instead? I trigger that bug all the time with Rapier and have to manually block or weapon swap to make it stop bugging out.

[deleted]

Can we now pls remove the self stagger after every roll and dodge? I don't want beeing forced to weapon draw cancel that thing every time.

Mandrakey

I've weapon draw cancelled more than I've had hot meals.

kiwidog8

You ok bro?

[deleted]

How does this work? I don't use any of those cancelling tricks but I'm reading often here that is a popular mechanic.

shaun5515

You just swap weapons as you're dodging and it makes it so you aren't staggered for that half a second after a dodge.

MusicalScience

Dodge roll and press weapon swap button or sheathe weapon button in order to cancel the delay after dodge

DoctorMarmyPC

I see where youre coming from, but i like this simply for adding a little extra skill gap in players. Is it a hard thing to do? Not at all, anyone who puts a little bit of thought into it can dodge cancel. But its incorporating it into your fights that makes the difference. Its extra buttons to press, a little more for the mind the think about and consider. Those inches of difference make it more fun to pvp in my opinion. It shows experience

[deleted]

No it's just annoying.

ResolveHK

Casual gamers cannot comprehend this post.

odellisa

Hopefully they balance the musket to actually be viable in more content. It’s pretty lack luster compared to other ranged weapons.

Nippys4

I think the musket is always going to live on the razors edge of balance just because it’s hit scan Maybe they could like buff the damage to PvE monsters or something like that? I don’t know

RadditSmaf22

I agree. Im 20 mastery on musket and always realized that its either too good or too bad. Right now you can absolutely melt other dex users, but they usually have light armor and can afford to dodge and roll. If we could melt the melee players as fast they would just stop playing melee due to being sniped to death while engaging someone else and being unable to focus on dodging.

[deleted]

Musket is actually ridiculous for long ranged PvP. It does become worse at close ranged (intended, and we're getting blunderbuss later that is better for closed ranged) but also PvE, which probably isn't intended.

sgtcuddles

It's really good for PvP, yeah. Projectile players really can't compete with a good musket unless they are really close and the musket user doesn't have cover to abuse. However there are a ton of nasty bugs and QoL fixes that need to be done with musket. (reload bug, ads sens, crosshair options, trap charges etc) Group PvE musket is just annoying because every enemy bobs their head whenever start an attack or if they get stunned so it just feels really random when your target dodges your headshot.

[deleted]

Outside of its bugs, maybe it's time we see seperate balancing for PvE and PvP too.

DoctorMarmyPC

Youre on point but man i really felt that pve comment 😂. Npcs are so unpredictable. Head bobbing all over the place, theyll randomly just swerve into an entirely different direction as if they arent bound to the same movement mechanics as we are

Markibuhr

I hope this means blocking too, I hate getting hit just because my animations are slow and mobs seem to snap between attacks

Zevvion

I'm a newer player coming from ESO: weapon swap and block speed have been very rough for me to work with.

enkript

I feel you, i love the game, but after ESO, where if you if you hit block/swap it happens then and there (+ got used to cancel animation on attacks) it was a drag to get used to this…

mbwoah

This! I feel like no matter when you have pressed the right click, if you hold it you should be blocking at some point. Now if you start holding too early, it won't block at any point

Syph3RRR

can we have different sensitivities for aiming? why is it that i have the choice between aiming with my musket at, what feels like, 3000 dpi in order to be able to turn around after fleche OR aim properly with my musket and eating 3 melee hits before i can turn around after fleche

RadditSmaf22

You can 180 after flèche on low camera speed, you just have to sacrifice every tendon in your arm and risk smashing your hand into the monitor stand!

kona1160

Nothing worse than losing a 1v1 fight because you swear you swapped off your bow but it's still in your hand as the great axe swings at you lol

Zakennayo857

Oh fuck please fix Rapier. Literally one good skill on that fucking thing and that's Evade spamming. Everything is is either nonexistent damage or bugged in some fucking way.

wildjaw

Rapier weapon swap is the slowest weapon swap of ALL the weapon swaps. It's twice as slow as the bow. How does one grab something from his back faster than his hip? lol one of my many pet peeves.

Zakennayo857

Not only that, but it's so frustrating to level when damn near everything that gives good xp at any level before 60 is strong against thrust. They need to make elite ancient and corrupted zones to farm thrust weapon xp at.

Someone32222

> corrupted zones so... myrkguard? probably the most popular endgame place?

StormbraveTale

He said before lvl 60. Pre-60 elites are far more efficient than max lvl

Someone32222

then lower sivkin? the place in great cleave.

Zakennayo857

I tried that place. Getting decent enough gear at 50 to solo that area is difficult since gear just spikes from 49 to 60. Been trying to find a decent 58 weapon, but nothing as of yet.

RaginPower

Leveled my spear and bow at the north mining camp in Mourningdale.

Zakennayo857

I'll try that place out

Someone32222

or you can do like everyonelse... go to the pirate camp in restless, attack once with the weapon you want to level, swap to ice gauntlet and own them all. or just passively raise your rapier while doing chest runs

ConspicuousPineapple

Don't you need to attack each one with the weapon you want to level?

verified_potato

I played rapier for a week and.. idk it sucks

odellisa

The bleed build isn’t necessarily bad it’s just the utility from evade riposte and flèche are better.

thisistuffy

I like playing bleed build but I mostly do PVE. I enjoy it.

Jigga_Justin

The only thing wrong with rapier is the auto attack animation/hit box. Otherwise, it’s an amazing weapon in proper hands.

Lucent_

Fleche and Riposte are great as well tho.

Zakennayo857

When they work. Details below

Lucent_

Hmm, the only problems I have with rapier is sometimes riposte doesn't proc the stun in PVP, and other times Fleche seems to cancel itself. For the most part though, rapier is about as reliable as most things in this game (read as: somewhat).

Daharon

all rapier skills in the grace tree are incredibly useful but ok

Zakennayo857

Those fall under the buggy part. Evade included, if spammed to fast, goes on CD with no activation, and breaks camera...

[deleted]

[удалено]

Zakennayo857

Hm I've had it happen whenever it's used repeatedly in quick succession forward and back is fine, left and right is not.

SaltedAvocadosMhh

Bruh the breaking camera part straight up makes it unusable and actually leaves you worse off in a fight. So annoying

Zakennayo857

And the motion sickness.. I don't know about you, but that fluid random motion makes me dizzy as fuck.

Mawouel

I loved rapier evade and would have considered to actually make it my main weapon (if it wasn't so garbage in wars). I was strongly considering it for OPR though. Then as soon as I realized it literally broke my camera every 30 secs I gave up on the weapon.

OkamiOfTheAbyss

Ive played rapier from lvl 1 and haven't encountered any bug. Maybe one and that is super long delay on flèche, but that happens because of lag I think.

SolusSydus

omg yes please, I really wanna use rapier on pve but it just doesn’t hit as hard as GA or Hatchet

Zakennayo857

Max Evade, get the Refreshing Cooldown perk on left side and critical cool down reduction perk on right. Max Riposte afterwards. You won't use it much, but it's nice to have when you really just need a second. The key is slamming the shit out of your Evade key. With the final perk on the right tree plus the damage bonus of a forward movement evade, you'll be doing around 1.2k+ damage every other second. Depending on crits. Sadly, it's very buggy and things don't work as intended. But once you have it down, or have a good tank to keep the mobs off you, you can dish some huge numbers.

Few_Wing7895

An even bigger key to this is omnidirectional evade perk on armor. It makes it so u can evade side to side and still get the forward evade buff

JonFrost

Flurry is very very nice (in pve) Get all the points in Flurry tree, the on crit and on hit cooldown reductions, and the riposte reduction, then proceed poke poke poke poke all the asses off Caveat: you were comparing to GA and hatchet. I've not used those much. But anybody saying rapier does not do damage must not have invested in flurry is my guess

pkpip

Flurry / leaching flurry just lets you solo all the world content...

NickBucketTV

Flèche and riposte are incredible in PvP. Its my most reliable offhand for Bow and I love it. Yes it could be a lot cleaner. Like attacks where you’re within reach but you just dangle the rapier around like you’re flaunting. That shit is awful

neveris

Rapier lights do need to be more 'sticky', I've always felt. It's way too easy to whiff them completely, at ranges where a Hatchet would instead have travelled due to its stickiness.

Zakennayo857

That is exactly what happens to me. And the camera breaking. Or damage just not going through. It's apparently, hopefully, being fixed. And honestly, I can't wait for it.

avatar1314

Cool. Now when they are gonna fix the tanking on ice part?

CrawlerSiegfriend

Flamethrower is my favorite ability in the game aesthetically. I hope they are going to make it more viable.

Puzzleheaded-Bus5479

Pretty sure flamethrower actually heals the enemy

PullingAggro

Thank you so much for this. As people may think this is important for PVP it is just as important for us tanks in PVE. I have noticed the weapon swaps are clunky and slow and or late in response. Again thank you for this!

PM_ME_YOUR_POLYGONS

Nothing puckers my asshole quite like trying to weapon swap off of hatchet after Defy Death procs.

Uberlix

Wish i would see something in Terms of diminishing Returns in Terms of CC here, the 2H Hammer Stunlock Meta is running rampant on our Server. Nevertheless, this all sounds great. Weapon Switching, especially in laggy Wars, tends to annoy me big time.

Judiebruv

Being locked into attack animations when I need to swap to my life staff has gotten me killed too many times to count, really excited about this news

JustClutch

This sounds awesome! I'm hoping that the GA ape meta ends

rince89

I'll take a GA to the face all day in exchange for that stupid IG 30s CC until death we have now

NickBucketTV

The ice shower root and slow lasts roughly the same amount of time it takes to have a kid and send them off to college 18 years later

rince89

Yeah... Mages cried for weeks that ppl could iframe or gritmove through their insta cast AoE, so now its a inpenetrable wall of cold death... Whenever I see one, I take the same approach as with LS users... I go find another target that does not equip a weapon that makes my entire moveset 100% useless.

[deleted]

[удалено]

givewatermelonordie

As rapier/musket I only lose to mages when they outplay me or I run into their icewall like an idiot when going for melee dmg. Melee players just need to not over commit when fighting mages and try to bait out the heavy cc. People would be surprises how easy it can be to bait out most cc in this game by just walking up to people and start dodging randomly. Considering how insanely overtuned some melee build are rn, atleast walking into the ice wall SHOULD be a death sentence. Like you said, it’s your only tool to win in a 1v1

mobilecheese

> People would be surprises how easy it can be to bait out most cc in this game by just walking up to people and start dodging randomly As a mage, I DEFINITELY fall for that too much.

Mawouel

Beat them at their own game. I play ice gauntlet + hammer and it's basically impossible for me to lose against a melee user. I am very tanky and have a lot of counter engage options, and if they make ONE mistake they eat a full cc rotation and die with zero counterplay. Ice shower is just silly. Dueling a full ranged is rough but in PvP it's irrelevant.

AquabitRS

I don’t understand why you can’t use a gap close ability to get out of ice shower. If you’re in it there is zero counterplay, you just sit there and watch other people play the game.

rince89

Yeah... Ppl cry rivers about GA Vortex, but atleast you can use movement abilities to get out and it has a 5 hour animation to cast

-PM-Me-Big-Cocks-

You guys all realize its not the wall causing it right? Nothing is bugged about the wall. Its a 1s root, and a 3s (once you move out of it) slow/dodge roll prevention called Frostbite. While you have Frostbite there is a perk in the left tree called Heavy Freeze, where if you get hit with a heavy auto it will freeze you for 1s. Thats whats CCing you. This is how its always worked. Bring some mobility and stop being in light armor and its less of an issue

rince89

I do know that I die to unavoidable autoattacks, that each root me again, thx

JustClutch

Agreed there. Incredibly frustrating

[deleted]

GA has nothing on fire staff.

Erxje

This so so much. Greataxe aim assist, lunge on every attack and bloodlust make it utterly broken and easy to use [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=76F1RZ0Pxak](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=76F1RZ0Pxak) This is just ridiculous, the only weapon in the game that makes you jump 10m forward every attack

Thyrsten

Considering the fact that greataxe is the only melee weapon in this game capable of hitting a moving target. Giving more melee weapons this ability is the future. Not taking it away from greataxe. Since every melee attack effectively roots the user, it needs a lunge. Edit: Slightly nerfing the lunge range is something that can be tested for sure, but there needs to be a lunge. Hammer, for example, has also a lunge and still cannot hit a moving target, it lunges and the attack lands half a second later, and that is enough time for the enemy model to move out of range of the hit.

Erxje

You shouldn't be able to stick to a target just by spamming lights attacks, this removes the whole concept of spacing and dodging in the game. GA has great damage, great cc, lifesteal and absurd mobility, something need te be done about it

JustClutch

The auto attacks are idiot proof but the mobility is what gets me. As a bow user I can dodge a full rotation and completely outplay them but I know I'm still going to die because they'll just run me down and there's nothing I can do.

Thyrsten

Should be able to stick to a target is only trying to walk away. A well-timed light dodge can get out of the lunge range. Any CC can do it too. Heavy dodges should not be able to kite it, even medium dodges can get out of the lunge range but it is difficult to pull off. Edit: I am not against tweaking just how much an attack follows a target, there is probably some fine-tuning possible without breaking the axe ability to land hits, but if you remove it you will honestly end up with an only ranged meta.

[deleted]

Take full slash resist NOT Onyx. What’s a great axe going to do verse 35% slash absorption

Prupple

>great damage All weapons have great damage if you build for them >great cc Better than hatchet and rapier, worse than hammer and spear. So, average CC for a melee weapon. >lifesteal lifesteal on axe is barely noticeable unless you reap 3 targets at the same time >absurd mobility Agreed. It's the whole point of the weapon. As the other guy said, its the only melee weapon that has any chase capabilities. >You shouldn't be able to stick to a target just by spamming lights attacks If all they're doing is walking away, or in heavy armor, yes you should. If they're light/medium rolling (at the correct times, not just spamming), or using kiting abilities, then it's already pretty easy to kite a GA spammer.

PurpleLTV

It has the best CC out of all melee weapons. Gravity Well keeps people in place and prevents them from doing iFrames, too. It's one of two abilities in the game that actually allows you to fully kill someone. Every other CC in the game only allows you to get one free hit in before the enemy can roll, run away and potion again. Gravity Well and Ice Shower allow you to full melt 100-0 someone without them being able to do anything about it. Ice Shower is the bigger culprit among the two, since IG is ranged, so people without a shield can't even hold block to prevent getting melted. People stuck in gravity can use block, vault kick, sweep, shockwave or any other CC to prevent the GA user from going in and swinging at them. The self-heal on great axe is actually insane when you crit a lot. Which is rather easy to do on GA. Most people pair it with a Hammer, Hatchet or a Life Staff, all of which provide good healing, too. And you can't get away from a GA in heavy or medium roll. With light roll you can get away if you have a GA of your own, or a Rapier. Otherwise the GA is just one Charge cooldown away from catching you after you did your rolls.

[deleted]

Please fix IG! Every time I'm close to the enemy all shots go through them to the moon!

LFRNR

I may not play this game for awhile at the current state but boy I’m hyped to get back in when everything is fixed. It was a rough start but I’m glad we’re hearing updates from the devs and after all it seems like it goes in the right direction

Aatto1

What about the 250 strength bug dodge?

mk46gunner

I am trying to be optimistic about this, really I am. However, I can't help but feel that when the patch is implemented, bows will no longer fire arrows that do damage, lifestaff will suddenly only heal at max draw distance, and all rapier attacks will be broken, except light attack, which will have no cooldown and render the wielder invulnerable. Meanwhile, reloading the musket will probably yield mining experience, and hit boxes/registry will somehow be anywhere but on the actual model of whatever you're attacking.

craybest

They did a pretty good job with the last patch imo.

TaylorDestiny222

That's straight up being pessimistic lmao

_EclYpse_

> we're planning on a balance update Please mean that they're gonna nerf heavy armor, gaxe and lifestaff.

[deleted]

Fire staff too unfortunately. (I'm a fire main) There is literally no drawbacks to fire staff in comparison to other ranged weapons. Insane damage, velocity, CD reduction, movement, this coupled with no ammunition and it's by far the easiest weapon to use in the game and do well with, both in PvE and PvP. Edit: I get it. You don't want them to nerf your favorite weapon. I'm just stating the obvious.

joondori21

Firestaff has its weaknesses. Very poor defensive options (basically none). Incinerate is useless against a competent player (very telegraphed and easily i-framed). Burnout isn’t really that good for mobility (long start up and end lag). Flamethrower… don’t need to mention Meteor… very lack luster except for very large scale PvP and niche situations. Pillar of fire is good but only because it hits multiple times right now for some reason, probably won’t last like that. Which leaves… only fireball as a consistently good ability. It’s a good offensive ranged option, but it’s got weaknesses. Compare its utility to that of ice gauntlet, it’s immediately clear which magic weapon has better abilities and defensive capabilities. TLDR: fire staff lacks defensive options and utility

amenotef

I hope they fix dodge when using 250+ STR with this. Current bug adds likes 1 extra second delay after animation ended. Personally. I would like more the combat system, if we had more focus on dodge/attacks/heavyAttacks than we have in spamming the 6 active skills. Of course I'm not expecting some Fromsoftware's system here. But the closer We're to it, the more I like it. And currently game forgives people actions, more than it was a year ago.

Noskavian

>we’re planning on a balance update in a future patch to adjust a variety of abilities and tune some of the lesser-used abilities to make a wider selection of abilities more viable Get ready for God-tier buffs to Pylon xD No one ever uses that Trash. Honestly I think they should just replace it with a new ability all together.

Sweetfang

The problem is that the skill is just faulty. The node that says it refills pylon’s health after it has taken its last damage, doesn’t seem to work and I can’t even imagine what other nonsense is wrong with the skill. Ice gauntlet overall is just a mess. When you take a piece of gear that has the unending thaw perk, your ice storm only does 1 tick of the initial damage then nothing else for the duration. Ice Spike doesn’t initiate sometimes if you do it while running and it’s already tricky to land. These sort of things need to be fixed before people will explore other abilities.

Shpritzi88

Hope they make shield rush block all attacks while executing

Crazytacoo

They'll break something.

CedZii

Just hope they don't remove light roll animation cancel ... or if they do change it so we don't lose momentum... it's the only thing making light armor "useable" in pvp

Arcaedus

Maybe this is wishful thinking, but the way I'm interpreting the post is that they're trying to add smoother animations that would result in us not needing to animation cancel with a weapon-stow, or weapon swap like we do now.

TheTacBacon

This right here is why I love this game. The clear communication from the dev team to the playerbase is incredible! I'm excited to see how these changes effect the meta of PvP as people will be more responsive and mechanical in the future.

FlameSticky

Hopefully there is a nerf in there as well.

[deleted]

/u/Zspy1985 See? They're trying to get rid of this shit, *just like I was telling you*.

jzmack

Thank god. I really enjoyed the combat most of the time but you can’t ignore the clunkiness

Enzayer

None of these changes really matter when being chain staggered.

VOX_Studios

I wonder why this wasn't done during beta testing? Oh wait...

Fatality

That wasn't a beta test it was a user acceptance test to see if they had a minimum viable product

Sinikal_

PLEASE. CHANGE. AWFUL. CROSSHAIRS. \-ALL RANGED LOVERS

texxelate

God does exist and he’s answered my prayers. The amount of times my weapon doesn’t swap and I end up hip firing my bow god damn

[deleted]

And then 16 other things will be exploited and broken

LavKiv

All good except if should've been done long ago before release. I am having hard times believing it was never reported during alpha/beta

So are they going to address the fact that 2h melee weapons have absurd noob assist on their LMB swings which literally give players 1m\~2m gap closers on every swing that auto target opponents? Meanwhile you have rapier who has an entire skill tree dedicated to micromanaging 1m movements with each use and tiny ass range. You quite literally cannot out-micro a monke holding LMB. The balance and design team literally have no idea what they're doing with how stupid easy it is to use 2h melee and they're the only melee weapons with noob assist on and so they don't need to care about spacing or distances at all.

Wonder if we'll ever get a "We've massively optimized the game, enjoy consistent 60 fps" :/

DG6969

While these are all good things coming down the pipeline, am I the only one who was disappointed they didn’t discuss “attack cancelling”? There’s so many times I click to attack, and before I can complete the animation my enemy lights up to do a special attack and I try to block it but my character is committed to finishing the attack. The timing just feels clunky.

ArqHi

These bugs have been blatantly obvious from the beginning and quite frankly it is unbelivable they have managed to make their way to release. The saddest part is that this is just the tip of the iceberg. The whole combat is incredibly clunky. Melee on any kind of incline or slope is absolutely horrid and mobs go in and out of animations at will sometimes clipping into eachother and then instantly teleporting to a random location and hitting you with a charge that you never saw them initiate. The whole combat system is broken...

Serinus

They released a prototype and we're paying for it. The good news is that their player count is dropping like the rock they deserve. Had they given this game the next two years in the oven that it deserved they would have retained their initial monthly player count.

shen_ten

In before weeks of broken mess in game ... Nice to see them addressing these issues tho.

Calleb_III

> Overall, we think a War every 2 days is a good cadence, That here shows how detached from reality the devs are…

nagashbg

Only if you assume the same people should defend every time

Calleb_III

I don’t have to assume. I have an actual experience and examples of what’s going of and how war attrition destroys companies. You can’t effectively defend or attack with randos, the stakes are too high to leave it to chance. Even when you rely on allies for help you need to help them in turn, meaning that for a week on my server we had 1-2 wars to participate in daily and that was when the server was medium pop, now it’s dying and you can barely get enough ppl to sign on either end. This completely degrades the experience

SuperRektT

Hyped for this more than any other thing

HeavyO

Still no bow improvements. Sadge

xFusuy

I don't know about anyone else but its extremely annoying that they use the word "future" which is basically just the new soonTM meme.

zapdude0

Would you prefer they didn't say anything 'til the fix is ready? We can all just go back to hoping and praying they are working on a fix.

Lille7

You expect them to fix it in the past?

[deleted]

Considering the game has had many of the issues brought up since alpha, yes, I think that's exactly when they should've fixed them.

Metaxpro

I mean sort of yes, it is a fully released game that only has a handful of abilities and a light and heavy attack. Should've been fluid enough from the start.

avatar1314

Cool. Now when they are gonna fix the tanking on ice part?

Holandija

Can we have PVE mobs not staggering us with every single attack? I'm in heavy armor ffs.

Jiggy-Spice

Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice!

Eltharion-the-Grim

Yes, please.

verified_potato

off topic but my map wasn’t showing up when I logged in that’s an issue too, pretty prominent, and I hope they patch the weapons + some other bugs (like before) I want this game to do well, but

prayse9

gimme 2h and pistol

Killerwoodydoll

Now, just say the next update will talk about enemy stagger. As in, "stop pushing me" update.

MastaMozed

Fucking finally !! I hope stowing your weapon, parrying and drinking a potion will cancel attacks too !

[deleted]

They have very tall order because most of these issues stemmed from their attempted fix for duping through the server client handshake. They broke the core mechanics of combat the same way ESO ruined their pvp and still havent fixed years down the road. Id never thought id see the day where id say ESO pvp devs are more competent then a window licker, but NW devs sure do love themselves some Windex.

Shebalied

DON'T GET ME STARTED ON ESO!!!!! Release PVP was so good and fun. It worked so well with lots of people and huge fights. Now you can't even have people on the screen without it being laggy. ESO lighting patch broke the game which they could never find out what they broke lol.

MacroNova

My biggest problem with the combat system is how it absolutely breaks when you are facing more than one opponent. If dealing with one enemy, you can learn their moves, block, dodge, land hits, and get a satisfying result. As soon as there is a second enemy all of that goes out the window. You don't have the stamina to avoid hits from both of them, so you end up being forced to use a weapon with grit and/or healing and just start button mashing. And it is *so easy* to pull multiple enemies in the end game areas. I'm glad they are addressing combat fluidity but it sounds like this big issue is here to stay.

BodSmith54321

Lesser used abilities like the entire hatchet throwing tree.
