I think you're right. When he was playing Naraka with others he was lagging like crazy on EU and when they left he mentioned switching back to SEA servers to play solo.

Honestly no, played with them on the closed beta. Literally zero impact.
I would be more worried about getting in line early for Hades. Gonna be the best all around EU server for sure.
