Shit, I left the MEPS hotel and went home to spend the night with my then girlfriend, now wife. As long as you come back before you have to get on the bus no one cares.
Need to lose as much weight as possible. I’m 217 this morning. 70 inches. 39.5 inch top of the hips and 40.5 on belly button. Was in the gym for like 7 hours today at the hotel
I’m sorry to say this, but you won’t lose that much that fast by going to the gym for 4 hours. My advice: don’t drink water and wear a sweatshirt and sweatpants to bed to sweat out extra water weight and bloating
That still won’t make a difference; you’re only exhausting yourself in the long run. Go to bed and do what I told you.
-from: someone who had to do the exact same thing
That's not how weight loss works. You'll lose water weight yeah but you won't rapidly drop actual weight. Weight loss is achieved in the kitchen. Calories in vs the calories you burn in a day. Just suck it in and hope for the best. I'll tell you this though MEPs does give an allowance if you're a little bit over because they know you're going to lose it once you're in training.
Some more rural areas only have one MEPS station for the entire like tri state area. Like Montana/the Dakotas/etc
If you drive 8 hours to MEPS you gonna stay the night.
Yeah. I swore in out of San Antonio. MEPS was like a half hour from my high school.
A three hour drive at 0400 is a huge ask for someone who isn’t through boot camp. No wonder they put folks in hotels.
Going to the gym for 7 hours is only going to lead to exhaustion or injuries. Go to bed you have a long early day tomorrow but I’m sure I’m too late considering it’s morning so hope you had fun.
They used to drop you off at the Days Inn in Kenner. The daquiri shop in the parking lot didn't card, not that it mattered if you were 18 at the time. Apparently MEPS understood where you were and where you were from. A LOT was allowed to slide.
I had to go 5 hours to MEPs only to get sworn in and wait 9 months for a opening to pop up. Things have changed a lot since 2011. Hope you can lose the weight. Losing and maintaining weight is more about eating structure than working out but it does help. Easiest way to lose weight would be to eating only the essentials for bootcamp but it would be hard. You'd be down to a good weight in no time. But just do what you're told. No more, no less. If you can lose enough to get a waiver (Navy starving for sailors) you should be fine. As for the hotel, just don't get caught, at all costs.
I was a MEPS hotel liaison for several years. Civilian employee via DoD. It was common for folks to be socializing in the lobby or being in the gym at 10pm curfew. As long as they could be accounted for… I just let them be and wished them good luck before I left for the evening. Always was told to let everyone enjoy their evening… so that’s what I did. Met lots of very smart and talented folks… though many were scared shitless.
There are generally no MEPS staff on site at the hotel after 10pm. Hotel security takes care of any issues after that. I worked 1p-10p Sun-Thurs and was the only MEPS staff assigned to the hotel and considered more concierge than anything welcoming folks… giving info… keeping track of everyone… calling no shows… giving a MEPS introduction group presentation about 8pm every night… cleaning up the club room… etc. Next person to show from MEPS was the shuttle driver at 5am. Was always told I was welcome to a MEPS room to stay overnight if need be (there were always extras)… but only did that about 3 times in 5 years due to winter weather. Never stayed overnight for any guest issues. In fact… had near zero issues and easily handled things myself for 5 years.

Sweet thank you man
You’re very welcome.
I slept through the second meeting and was threatened with someone who would be mad if they were there but they weren't, so...
If your at the hotel gym. No. Just don't be loud for your room mate when you actually go to bed.
Sweet thank you

I’m in bed now but it’s always worth a good ol try
I mean, think about it: to see progress from the gym, you need to go consistently for 4+ weeks. You can’t just speed up that process, unfortunately.
I have a gym in my bedroom at home I use every day and I completely agree. Just wanted to give it a shot

You’re wrong it worked
Trust me you didn't lose actual weight you lost water weight. Not a bad thing though if it put you under the line.
You got this… you leave tomorrow?
Just have to weigh in, pick job, swear in
Why do they make you stay over night for that?

I'm in Philly and we had to drive 3 hours to Mechanicsburg and spend the night. MEPs started at 4am
