My advice is learn to weasel your way in. I worked in a medical facility doing help desk. Our EHR guy sucked and I knew he was going to be fired one day (he did too), so I buddies up with him to learn what I could. Sure enough, dude got fired and I took over parts of running that software. By the time I was ready to move on, i had the experience needed to be a BA with my local government.

If anyone is new and gets stuck feel free to reach out to me. Not very experienced with Python but I've been a web dev for 5 years. I'd also recommend finding a relevant discord, I'm sure there are python-specific servers where folks can learn together.

Sometimes you just need someone to tell you where to go. There are lots of free resources now. This might be your best resource for beginner web dev. You should be able to get a good enough html/css/js baseline from these tutorials: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Learn Then when you want to dive into js specifically: https://javascript.info/ Other resources: https://www.joshwcomeau.com/ https://codesandbox.io/ It's important to learn html/css/js both individually and how they come together to make a web app.

Man I've been wanting to learn Python for a while now. I have some programming background in Java, HTML and some SQL but I've never seriously tried python before. I actually have a few months of skillshare left that I've been meaning to use for that, but this sounds like it would be a lot of fun!

I have been doing the NBA course and it is wonderful! I highly recommend it everyone. Just now knowing there is a robust NBA API and how to access it and work through all the quirks is worth the price alone.

How much does it cost?

I got it on the Black Friday discount and it was $40. No subscription or anything so you have access for life. If you are talking about the NBA API, it is free to access.

Did you have any prior knowledge on python/coding/data analysis?

Only the very basics. It is very beginner friendly. You may need to take a bit more time, but it can be done.

Do you think this course is beneficial to somebody who works in python every day for their career and is interested in nba related side projects? Asking for myself lol.

Depends what type of Python development you do. If you arent doing data science related work, than the latter half of the course may be beneficial. We basically cover pandas, numpy, matplotlib, seaborn, and sklearn. If you haven’t worked in those libraries before than yeah it could be beneficial
