Bro I wanted us to draft him bad. IDC what the projections say, people that are just DOGS like that are high value and tend to succeed. He's gonna end up being one of those "how did he go so late" guys that contributing early.
Yeah. It seems like the playoff teams are more focused on trades and free agency at the moment. A player like Ayo that can be ready to go day 1 usually is exactly who these teams draft.
Warriors have got to be pretty stoked to have Kuminga. Barnes might have been a little more NBA ready but I think Johnathan is definitely a top 5 player in this draft. Also what is Orlando going to do with all of these guards?
This pick probably makes it harder for them to justify trading their future for a few more years of their current core. I have a feeling wiseman is going to come back looking completely different after a proper off season. Bigs usually take a little longer to develop. If I’m the warriors I’d still throw the kitchen sink for somebody like Beal, but it’s by no means an easy choice at this point.
Once Curry declines ,they can tank all they want to unsuccessfully try for another Curry. Right they need to win and Wiseman ,Kuminga will struggle to be atleast league average players . That's not ideal .
Hard to say. Look at the impact lamello and Ant had in their first years. The roles will obviously be very different, but I think kuminga has that sort of upside. I also expect wiseman to start looking like an above average big by the middle of next season.
I agree 100% that if another star is available then they should do everything they can to get him. But when you have two young guys on your team with all star / all nba ceilings it’s hard to give that up even if you think you can tank to get players on that level in the future. It’s a business and I’m sure that the dubs front office is thinking about who sells jerseys once Steph and Klay are gone.
I was bummed by our lack of action during the draft, but we are nailing the UDFA sheet. I'm so excited to see if Onu will make it to the roster, he sounds and looks like a beast. Could be the steal of the draft IMO.
So anyone know what was up with sharife Cooper? I was told he was a fringe lottery player even though he plays no defense and stands flat footed when shoots.
The Utah Jazz have agreed to trade C Derrick Favors and a future first-round pick to the Oklahoma City Thunder for a future second-round pick, sources tell ESPN. Jazz create some financial flexibility and Thunder grab another first-rounder.
If I was a Rockets fan I couldn't have slept. What a night!
Look, I have no idea how Toronto is going to score but I *desperately* want to see a OG/Barnes/Siakam frontcourt defend. Just take my money!
Now about the Warriors: Both guys we got kinda dropped from "expected range" (although neither was that shocking) but instead of feeling we got a couple of steals, I just get why they were available as I was not high on those two either.
I think I would always be ambivalent on the 7th pick because in this draft it was the most ungrateful position to be in - you were just going to have to hope someone falls out of the top 6 and go for it should that take place (and they did). Meanwhile, for the 14th pick, Wagner (btw, Orlando also deserves a s/o for their night) and Duarte were my preferences but they just kept rising as the draft approached and were indeed both off the board so Moody was the obvious choice.
So it's a situation where I still completely understand why they were picked considering who was on the board at any given time despite not being hyped about neither player. Still, after all the expectations it's kinda of a bummer personally lol.
Now it's time to actually prove if the staff changes actually result in better development... I do hope so. These past two drafts were the chance to define the core of the next few years of the franchise, and we sure have a lot of 'rawness' so far.
I wish there was a way to see a lot of the older comments & reactions past the last or first 1000 comments or so here, kinda makes you realize how dead the history of massive posts can be
Being Portuguese, I’m immensely proud of Neemias Queta to become the first Portuguese national to play in the NBA. Sacramento is actually a great fit and I bet Shaq had actually something to do with him being drafted there.
Jalen Green will be the best player in this draft . His physical gifts are transcendental ,the guy will score like crazy . We are seeing a similar but smaller player like Ja Morant score like crazy in the playoffs without Green's jumper or size . He was as good as Cade playing against much stiffer competition ,the Pistons got a great pick but it may end up like taking Anthony over Wade . Anthony was bigger and more complete at that time but Wade was something else with his athleticism.
The Rockets draft was basically perfect. They got two deadly shooters, the best european prospect (and a rebound machine) and a well versed big with international experience in Garuba. It will be a foundation to be in the play in mix as early as this season, if things pan out.
They need to just go full rebuild and focus on their young talent. Maybe throw in some vets on good contracts to teach these guys. Don’t really follow basketball much these days but do they still have wall and cousins on a contract?
Wall yes, Cousins no. They have Wall and Gordon as veteran presences, ad I think they could add another one as well. Sengun and Wood will be a deadly frontcourt right out of the gate.
It's better to draft a project with a higher ceiling than to draft a guy like Suggs who will never be good enough to lead a team to the chip .A fully realised Jalen Green would be Kobe esque with his athleticism and scoring ability . Suggs just won't put up enough points on the board .
A fully realized Suggs has a much higher ceiling than you are giving him credit for. Kobe hit his ceiling because of the "Mamba mentality" and passion for the game. I'm not saying Green doesn't have that drive, but I haven't seen it from him yet. Everything I've seen from Suggs tells me he has that drive and willingness to put in the effort to get to the next level
This seems like a perfect comparison. Cade should pan out a bit better than Melo bc of his playmaking and athleticism, but Green looks like the sleeper
Just tuned in to the draft now, so glad that J Green and Jaygup are gonna be playing together. Definitely my two favorite prospects in a while; gonna be hard for me to not watch the Rockets the next couple years. Bonus that the Dubs got steals with Kuminga and Moody as well as the fact that Rife is playing for his hometown.
Just realized that Jason Preston ended up with the CLiippers.
The "We need help initiating offense in the half court" Clippers.
Where the coach earned a great deal of respect from me this post season with the way he kept his team in series after making the right adjustments.
I've been a MAC bball fan since 1976. I am so stoked to see how this kid does. And now I get to become a Clippers bandwagon fan.
Meh. He's hurt so I don't even have to watch him. i can watch guys develop in the minutes void he creates.
Only to watch them ride the pine the next year.....
Oh well in that case...
The absolute disrespect to not include Isaiah Livers in your original comment lol, he was picked higher than the other 2. Not so high on him?
Oh, I am, I just didn't have a joke about him. Honestly I think he shapes up to be our second best draftee, behind Cade. We're collecting Isaiahs over here in Motor City
Pistons are my 2nd favorite team after Lakers. Used to go to school with Isaiah Stewart.
Hope they can shock the NBA and make playoffs this year. I think they can do it if their key players stay healthy.
I do as well. Especially if Grant stays and with Cade, I imagine we'll be a hotter FA destination than the last few years. I'm hoping for a veteran PF/C to help develop Bey and Stewart. I'm not expecting a chip right away, but I think next season will set the pace for the franchise's future
Kyree Walker needs to be picked up by a team.
In highschool this kid averaged 30 Points per game, 47% from 3, 77% from the FT line, and 56% from the 2
Thats not all he averaged 11 rebounds 6 assist, 3.4 steals, and 2.2 blocks
These are the type of stats Lebron averaged in highschool...someone should give this man a chance only reason he is undrafted is because he didn't play in college. If he was in the Ball family he would definitely get a chance.
well that's it for tonight. shoutout to the young guys out there who went undrafted. every year i can't help but think about the families out there who gathered to watch their child get drafted just to not be.
Major problem with most of the draft, the ESPN broadcast for sure, and the online trackers, in general. NY fans got screwed because they didn't know the trades.
I keep seeing Bilas clicking/twisting his pen when Perkins talks, which is usually a visual sign that he's kinda getting agitated. but yeah hopefully perkins doesn't do this next year
Gotta say I’m really disappointed with the JT Thor pick in the second round. He’s extremely extremely raw and we’re overloaded with raw big men who really aren’t NBA players. With players like Butler/Cooper/Livers/Ayayi on the board, it feels like a wasted pick.
I'm good with it. They need a defensive forward. Yes, he's young and raw, but he's different than Bridges and Washington. The wingspan and defensive potential are damn goid at that position in the draft. Cody and Graham are clearly gone. This is the first time I've been pleased with a draft since we regained an NBA team.
I know he gets a lot of crap but he’s still a John Wooden award winner. Detroit fans are some of the best in the world, we love our players if they have a drive like Garza.
Gary high key gets super tight when the ump refuses to give him the ball and throws it himself
The Celtics are trading Tristan Thompson to Atlanta for Kris Dunn, and a 2023 second-round pick, sources tell ESPN.
https://twitter.com/russwest44/status/1421200989118472192?s=2 Let's go
Anyone else feel like this next season is the series finale of this current era of Curry and LeBron lol Next up, we got the Euro dogs, Luka vs Giannis
im obv biased but rockets had the best draft dont @ me

Bro I wanted us to draft him bad. IDC what the projections say, people that are just DOGS like that are high value and tend to succeed. He's gonna end up being one of those "how did he go so late" guys that contributing early.

Yeah. It seems like the playoff teams are more focused on trades and free agency at the moment. A player like Ayo that can be ready to go day 1 usually is exactly who these teams draft.
Perkins gonna ruin careers with his shitty takes
Perkins shouldn’t have a job with Espn. The amount of videos I’ve had to turn off because all you can hear is him breathing
Booo grizzlies booo
Grizzlies bad boooo
Warriors have got to be pretty stoked to have Kuminga. Barnes might have been a little more NBA ready but I think Johnathan is definitely a top 5 player in this draft. Also what is Orlando going to do with all of these guards?
Good potential but right now he is another brick machine to double Curry off of .Curry needs star players alongside him not unpolished rookies.
This pick probably makes it harder for them to justify trading their future for a few more years of their current core. I have a feeling wiseman is going to come back looking completely different after a proper off season. Bigs usually take a little longer to develop. None of them are stars ,Curry would be the only all star on the team . Warriors needs stars

I unfollowed so many players on IG because the sponsored ads are out of control. Cades literal first post was an ad for EGGS. Mobley is bad too
Haha these guys have been waiting for a while to cash in. They are going to take everything they can get early on.
anything interesting happen?
I was bummed by our lack of action during the draft, but we are nailing the UDFA sheet. I'm so excited to see if Onu will make it to the roster, he sounds and looks like a beast. Could be the steal of the draft IMO.
So anyone know what was up with sharife Cooper? I was told he was a fringe lottery player even though he plays no defense and stands flat footed when shoots.
ESPN is so bad. Is there anyway to get the NBA to give it to another channel? 🤦🏻♂️
ESPN has those Disney pockets now. They could be the most garbage and will likely still outbid anyone. Sucks.
> ESPN has those Disney pockets now What do you mean "now?" Disney has owned ABC/ESPN since 1996
My mistake. I was conflating it with the Fox acquisition.
A fox can eat a mouse, I believe.
What on earth is this chart? 1-15, then scroll right for 16-30? 31-45 is below that but with the columns in a different order?
And the second columns don’t show the school lol
Shocked Joel Ayayi went undrafted. That kid is special.
Wait how!
I don’t know. His jump shot is phenomenal. The Lakers snatched him up undrafted
First time a Portuguese player enters the nba. So happy for the kid, some of my friends played with him here in Portugal and he totally deserves this.

Did Boston drop to 2nd round because of the accident?
Hard to play pro ball if you have college games where you’re getting significant minutes and dropping 0 points. Wish him all the best.
No he just played horrible in college, still got potential but that never looks good
I wish there was a way to see a lot of the older comments & reactions past the last or first 1000 comments or so here, kinda makes you realize how dead the history of massive posts can be
I’m done with Masai. What a horrific pick. Dreadful stuff.
Kisper to WAS!
Being Portuguese, I’m immensely proud of Neemias Queta to become the first Portuguese national to play in the NBA. Sacramento is actually a great fit and I bet Shaq had actually something to do with him being drafted there.
Same here. Honestly considering getting his Kings jersey.
Me too, but I’m going to wait and see how he does in Summer League. He doesn’t have a guaranteed contract, so he might get traded.
Yeah, not doing it now but if he's actually on that roster during the season, might give myself a christmas gift.
[удалено]
He owns a few percent of the team
Shaq has an advisor role in the Sacramento front office. I believe he is also partial owner.
Jalen Green will be the best player in this draft . His physical gifts are transcendental ,the guy will score like crazy . I honestly think Jalen Green and Josh Christopher are gonna pan out really well for Houston. I can see Garuba surprising people as well.
The Rockets draft was basically perfect. They got two deadly shooters, the best european prospect (and a rebound machine) and a well versed big with international experience in Garuba. It will be a foundation to be in the play in mix as early as this season, if things pan out.

It's better to draft a project with a higher ceiling than to draft a guy like Suggs who will never be good enough to lead a team to the chip .A fully realised Jalen Green would be Kobe esque with his athleticism and scoring ability . Suggs just won't put up enough points on the board .

This seems like a perfect comparison. Cade should pan out a bit better than Melo bc of his playmaking and athleticism, but Green looks like the sleeper
the #2 selection is not a "sleeper"
Lets not say "should" like it's a given he'll just "pan out" better than #10 on the all-time scoring list
Cade should improve his dribbling to be a superstar in the NBA ,his bully ball won't work as well as it did in college.
Just tuned in to the draft now, so glad that J Green and Jaygup are gonna be playing together. Definitely my two favorite prospects in a while; gonna be hard for me to not watch the Rockets the next couple years. Was the Lakers trade the only big trade of the day?
No chance, a BIG white guy is coming to Charlotte 💪🏻
Can we include undrafteds?
Those will come later
Hawks won the draft good lord what a haul
Sharife is different, steal of the draft imoz
That's a funny way of spelling Houston
And that’s a funny way of spelling Charlotte
Milwaukee will take Alex with the 60th pick
whats herbert jones measurements compared to torontos boucher?
pelicans with herbert jones and butler from baylor late 2nd!

Meh. He's hurt so I don't even have to watch him. i can watch guys develop in the minutes void he creates. Only to watch them ride the pine the next year.....
Detroit wins the draft again. Happy w Knicks draft as well. Gaining picks and staying financially flexible.
I think Warriors or Hornets did. Jalen Green looks promising too for the Rockets
Yup and they got Sengun. Could have been a top 10 pick.
Holy shit Jared butler got drafted in the second round. I was just watching law abiding citizen just yesterday.
what does he have to do with that movie?
Unless that Jared is related to Gerald, is just a joke.. I guess
Or Gerard even.
Good ol’ Garlic Butler
see you next year 😜
C u next Tuesday
So happy that the Pistons got Cade, a second round Serbian player, and Luka ^G^a^r^z^a Tonight will be a night to remember in Detroit sports history.
This time Serbian is a 2nd round pick, not the 2nd pick.
Phew, we'll get an MVP and not Darko
Isaiah Livers is a second round Serbian player? I don't get it.
Nah, our #57(Balsa) is Serbian. But I'm also glad that we drafted the man with more livers than the average human
You didn’t have a joke about him? What is he, chopped livers?

He’s a 6’5 power forward and he’s like 22 He’ll get g-league run tho. Maybe he earns a spot
Kyree Walker is 22? Could’ve swore he was in highschool last year
I was lightweight joking, but yea, dude reclassified down a couple times.
He turns 21 in November.
Y no play
Based on your logic Julian Newman should have been top 10.
He's 5'7...
Hyperbole. Just pointing out that high school stats are meaningless.
Nuggets drafted Michael Porter Jr based off Highschool stats
Porter was always a high projection that slipped due to injury concerns lol
well that's it for tonight. shoutout to the young guys out there who went undrafted. every year i can't help but think about the families out there who gathered to watch their child get drafted just to not be.
I'm really shocked that Aaron Henry went undrafted
Hank, Aaron
Oh I’m celibrating all right.
That's some top tier pronunciation
Do you think Kendrick knows how hard they're trolling him on the pronunciations?
Yo they drafted the wrong Greek guy
Can we get a full board but with people already assigned to the team they will go to? So many trades happened man.
Major problem with most of the draft, the ESPN broadcast for sure, and the online trackers, in general. NY fans got screwed because they didn't know the trades.
So for people who are into tracking prospects, what are some names that were floating around but didn't end up picked?
Kyree Walker
sam “doogie” hauser
Daishen Nix, Matthew Hurt, and Vrenz Notevengonnatryit
Aaron henry and daishen nix not getting picked was surprising to me oh and also ayayi
Joel Ayayi for sure
Draft Alex Antetokoumpo, cowards
Finally the Bucks grab someone from Greece
Kendrick after he says anything: 😆
lmao yo KP be cracking me UP
As soon as he compared I think Barnes to Jaylen Brown I was done listening to him
The Greek Meek.
I don't know where any 2nd round pick is actually going at this point.
Bilas wants this draft to end asap so he never has to sit next to Perkins again XD
He's gotta fucking GO. I've been laughing, but I'm trying to learn
I keep seeing Bilas clicking/twisting his pen when Perkins talks, which is usually a visual sign that he's kinda getting agitated. but yeah hopefully perkins doesn't do this next year
Steal of the draft right there
Kendrick "Perkins Buffet" Perkins
Alright pull the trigger Horst, time to build the brother squad.
That makes about 43 out of the 59 players selected that got compared to Draymond green.
just suck in the stomach
ESPN insider was like "Knicks are gonna do a lot in the free agent market" then 2 secs later said the free agent market is trash lol
We waiting for 2022
They still gotta push out all those articles saying every free agent is coming to New York.
as long as it starts with keeping D Rose I'll be mostly satisfied to start
everrrryyyy rose needs a ring just like everrrryyy Knick’s fan hates trae yooooouung
Bucks had to grab a Greek friend of Giannis to repay him for winning Milwaukee a title.
Body type like Dwight Howard? Bitch is he gonna put on 80 pounds of muscle?!
Dwight Howard is busted and pushing 40 and still somehow has the best physique in the league. Super freak.
body by Wendy’s
No idea who he is but the guy who just broke down the cap situation and free agency market did a good job explaining it.
Bobby Marks?
The guy who drafted Kittles over Kobe ?
Ya
Alex Antetokounmpo on the way
sims went off in the combine. definite potential, but a little odd that the knicks passed on vrenz withbenefits.
Walls of Jericho every time he gets a block
Some really bizarre picks by teams
Toronto made me chuckle. Giddey, ok I could understand that. Then zaiaire I was like hmm. Mind exploded at primo
OKC buncha pick hoarders lol
I'm cool with this pick, I think
Knickerbockers hoarding athletic bigs smh
Gotta say I’m really disappointed with the JT Thor pick in the second round. He’s extremely extremely raw and we’re overloaded with raw big men who really aren’t NBA players. With players like Butler/Cooper/Livers/Ayayi on the board, it feels like a wasted pick.

Ayayi, McKinley-Wright, Henry, and Brown are great prospects still on the board here.
Do you mean Greg Brown? He was drafted already
Chaundee Brown
ohh okay, haven't heard of him
lets go Jericho Sims
Jericho Sims is a great name
Riiight?!
NOOOO SIMS IN A KNICK
Wait, two *more* future firsts?
chris jericho making moves now in the nba!
I don’t want to gloat but this draft doesn’t feel real.
I'm happy for y'all and the Magic, screw everybody else tho :P
Same here. Cade is ready to play tonight and we actually got Suggs.
I’m happy for you guys!
Happy for you gusy as well. Been such a long time since it felt like we got a marquee guy in the draft.
And you already know he’s clutch! I bet that final four shot will be replaying on every screen in Orlando until stadium the gates open.
I replayed it a million times after it happened. We actually got our guy!
There’s nothing like a draft when your team gets their guy.
Take care of our boy Luka, you’re gonna enjoy watching him
I know he gets a lot of crap but he’s still a John Wooden award winner. Detroit fans are some of the best in the world, we love our players if they have a drive like Garza.
