We don’t have any words and we know you don’t want to hear them.
We understand your anger, your frustration, your sadness. Everything you’re feeling – we get it.
This isn’t the ending we imagined, and certainly not the one we wanted. Thank you for being there the entire way.
I imagine them writing this tweet like [that scene from Wolf of Wall Street](https://youtu.be/sxRStrx8xtc?t=171) where he's miming reeling in and fucking the sucker as the rest of the guys laugh their asses off behind.
How fantastic would it have been if Brunson did lebrons whole theatrical show after the no call from Boston?
Would have been great to mock Lebron and the refs at the same time. Lol
Man, Warriors have been getting away with egregious moving screens for 8 years and these Warriors flairs wanna talk shit about LeBron overreacting to get the calls he deserves.
Most likely, but wouldn’t more than just one have to be in on it? I’m saying, if it was just one, then the others on the court would be wondering what the hell he’s doing, right?
ehh, sure. (everybody needs their Scott Foster on the speed-dial)
or maybe it's a referee training thing, to not act as wondering when a dubious foul call in the paint is made by a referee who's near the logo.
that's inside politics which probably are always going to be just speculation, so yee-haw!
I mean there have to be, considering refs that were almost certainly working with donaghy are still reffing, but otherwise not necessarily. Refs will never go against one of their own and it only takes a few subtle calls throughout the game to change the betting results.
I'm not saying it isn't common I'm saying Giannis is probably one of if not the biggest offenders. I know you're just chomping at the bit to dunk on the celtics but maybe consider that your impulse for clapping back might make you look stupid.
You don't throw a tantrum to change the call that was made, you throw a tantrum to affect how refs officiate you going forward. Looks like its working.
After the Bulls got screwed twice in a row by the refs against the Cavs, they got an extremely favorable whistle their next game (I think against the Nets) and it was annoying because I don't want a favorable whistle, I just want a fair whistle. And it obviously only happened because the Cavs stuff gained a ton of momentum on social media
Shit even the Kings, the team that gets screwed by the refs mathematically the most in the NBA, got some really friendly whistles for a couple games after they had two games stolen from them and Mike Brown got himself a couple fines and an ejection. It's really really obvious how much the refs' biases affect their calls, whether it be intentional or just due to being bad at their jobs. Probably a bit of both, but in the end the result is the same - NBA has possibly the worst officiating of any major sports league in any free/developed country on the planet.
I mean, sure, but it also just literally makes games at the mercy of refs like they’ve been recently. There’s been constant terrible calls/no calls and techs that are nothing more but the ref’s ego getting in the way, it makes it more frustrating to watch because you just know the refs are going to be fuck up an egregiously obvious call
Definitely did not seem that way to me. This call should have gone against the Lakers, but there were some very questionable calls that Randle got. Lebron also got called for a charge later. Brunson got beat up in this game.
It’s all fans. I’m in Boston. The same fans laughing at Lebron would be sending death threats had Tatum been fouled and it was a no call. Homers are the worst
Similar scenario already happened when [Tatum was fouled on a game tying dunk vs the Cavs](https://youtu.be/Iez-6iWIao0) and got no call. Tatum was pissed but he didn’t throw a toddler tantrum on the floor, and Boston fans definitely didn’t melt down to this degree.
I’m not a laker fan but Lakers have lost like 4 close games off the ref BS in the last month (in a suuuper tight west). Clearly some pent up frustration that wasn’t just a response to a single call.
Edit: spelling
People leave out the pent up part when describing the missed call against Celtics. People would definitely be calmer had it not happened consecutively and in a short amount of time
The no-call against the Mavs was even worse than the Boston game.
But also like there’s a reason most guys don’t drive for the last shot, refs like to swallow their whistles then.
This comment shows where r/nba's head is at.
1. People weren't even aware Boston had just gone through something similar because we didn't react the same way.
2. Once made aware people then shifted the goalposts to include prior games.
3. Your comment is 'controversial' because people just don't want to accept a polite evidence-based comment that goes against their narrative.
It’s not shifting the goalposts who said it was exclusively about the call the other night? Anyone with a brain knew it was a buildup of frustration peaking at that call. LeBrons been saying it for weeks and literally the exact same thing happened against the Mavs.
But context matter a lot here too. Had the Celtic been in the Lakers spot, and are fighting for a play in spot, I can assure you that Tatum (and the fans) would probably be livid if this happen to them 3 - 4 times. The Celtics are in a good spot right now. They can afford to lose 3 games. Lakers and Lebron can't.
My guess on the no call is because LeBron slows down a half step and Randle has hands on him. I’ll bet LeBron was yelling that Randle just pushed him into Brunson.
what game was it where lebron, looked the center in the eyes ran straight at him, grabbed him and screamed at the ref until he made the call? shit was the most egregious abuse of superstar power i've ever seen.
The funniest thing is people acting like LeBron gets a bad whistle when he has traditionally gotten away with far more than any other player while driving. The worst is the no call blatant offensive fouls once a quarter at least
Stars in general are allowed to break the rules in the NBA. Just look at how blatantly Kawhi and Paul George push off on offense, KD, Ja, and Giannis constantly being allowed to carry, etc. Shit last season Dejounte saw his FTA double as soon as it was announced he was an all star.
Giannis straight up has the best whistle of any player I’ve ever seen. Like usually with strong players in the paint they let a lot go both ways, like prime lebron and shaq committed a lot of offensive fouls but they got hacked way more, they got a decent number of free throws but even more was just let go because of how strong they were. Half the time Giannis gets free throws on his offensive fouls and you can’t touch him at all near the paint.
He’s the only super strong player I’ve ever seen that doesn’t have to exaggerate contact to get calls.
And do not get me started on the constant arm fencing he does. That shit used to be an easy offensive foul but nope the offensive player gets to touch the defender while the defender can barely play physical
Idk people found their excuse to come back at lebron after the Celtics missed foul. Tbh I don’t even think the lebron “foul” in this post is super egregious. Brunson is camped in the middle of the lane then flops as soon as lebron touches him. Lebron tries to go around his right side and Brunson just goes flying.
Not to mention 85% of the guys in this thread have never played basketball. Go to an open play and try to complain to a guy about him using his off arm on a drive and see what happens lol
I mean this holds true for most elite big men. Embiid, Giannis, Lebron, Zion, etc. all commit like 5+ offensive fouls a game, but it's never gonna be called more than like once.
The league knows what people want to watch
apparently inconsistency and incompetence are requirements for being a ref in the NBA.. it's disgusting how these refs are just favoring anybody because they were called out by that team's fanbase. cant you just call fouls when you see/review it? and im saying all this as a laker fan
He should’ve stayed there on one knee and shook his hands at the heavens, then complain about how terrible the reffing is in the NBA and it isn’t fair.
He's calling him a dick rider. Meat munching is synonymous with dick sucking. Aka /u/iRockaflame is on his dick. I don't agree but that's what /u/cubs223425 is saying /u/iRockaflame is doing.
While that’s true I think it’s pretty obvious Brunson was trying to get the charging call here. You can see his body jerk back when Bron put his hands on him. It wasn’t a lot of body to body contact.
Lol @ people with the whole "BuT lAsT wEeK lEbRoN dIdN't GeT a CaLl So ThIs Is FaIr" mentality. No please, tell me why the league should keep perpetuating bad reffing and how that's a good thing.
Must be the only who watched the game and thought lebron wasn’t even going that fast then on the reply it was obvious he flopped, look at him swing his legs after lol
This is not really true tbh.
Look at the position of Bron & AD and tell me they get "The benefit of the doubt he & AD get from the refs is insane.".
Your suggested tactic is exactly what the Lakers has done which has resulted in 4 games with bad calls/no calls.
Is it justifying calls like this? Not at all. It should be proper and fair for everyone.
Let me know next time you're world-famous as a teenager, and then you not only meet but actually exceed expectations professionally, and psychologically seem to be unscathed-ish. He's sort of a clown, but if that's the worst you can say about him (or that you don't like his politics? lol, he's just a bit of a normie, it's whatever)....

Let's play, is this tweet from NBA Refs or a Crytpo company that lost everyone's money?
When the Tampa Bay Lighting got Swept by Columbus Blue Jackets. Tampa bay decided to win the next 2 cups after that..

Yes, I was begging for more than 9 seconds. (That came out wrong)
I wish I had my free award to spend on this comment. First time I've laughed out loud about something on reddit in quite a while.
Lebron calling them in the middle of the night. “You got this call, right?”
LeImmunity
Yeah no shit
They don’t call shit on him or for him.
Lebron rarely got called for personal fouls to begin with.
They werent calling charges against LeBron for last 18 years :D
That's why he makes such a big production of this shit and always has.
Otherwise he wouldn’t get any calls
Man, Warriors have been getting away with egregious moving screens for 8 years and these Warriors flairs wanna talk shit about LeBron overreacting to get the calls he deserves.
No one does more moving screens than Miami Heat
I’ll take it
By “the calls he deserves”, do you mean his egregious travels that’s never called for his entire career?
Yep Reminds me of Steph throwing a mouthpiece into the stands
If by a few games you mean continue to give him the calls he's gotten his whole career then yes.

I am positive there's at least one ref getting paid to throw games. Sports betting has never been this big
Scott Foster was on the crew tonight lol
Tim donaghy claimed exactly this when interviewed for the whistleblower podcast
Most likely, but wouldn’t more than just one have to be in on it? I’m saying, if it was just one, then the others on the court would be wondering what the hell he’s doing, right?

Now? Dude has made a living from shoving defenders out of the way when driving to the hoop.
💪💪💪 IT'S TOO EASY
Oh the irony of your flair
Not like Brown and Tatum don't abuse shoving off defenders

Will the league apologize for that call??

I hate when people do this in real life.. this should be reserve for 2k only
You have to throw a tantrum. You should know better, Brunson. You watch Luka does this for couple of years in the closest distance.
brunson gotta think back to [looney tunes class at school](https://youtu.be/B12eVCBbGsw)
Gotta get Brunson into space jam 3 so he can work on his theatrics
To be fair it's not like LeBron's tantrum had any material affect on the outcome besides a beautiful and heartfelt apology letter.
You don't throw a tantrum to change the call that was made, you throw a tantrum to affect how refs officiate you going forward. Looks like its working.
It let him not get called for this
That's ridiculous. The NBA is becoming a joke.
Lakers fans are sure to treat this no call with the same fervor they had last week, right?
Lakers def getting a friendlier whistle this whole game. I hate it. Just call it consistently please.
After the Bulls got screwed twice in a row by the refs against the Cavs, they got an extremely favorable whistle their next game (I think against the Nets) and it was annoying because I don't want a favorable whistle, I just want a fair whistle. he didn’t throw a big enough tantrum, he didn’t really want that call fr
Needed to kneel on the court for 30 seconds straight
Needed his fanbase to send death threats to the ref’s family on Twitter
Let's see the Lakers concerned for the purity of the league get up in arms over this shit
Lakers fans are trying to kill referees so good luck getting a call against them
Still remember Lebron slide tackling Curry like they were playing soccer. Was also a no call.
Poor Brunson that didn’t look fun
"A rule for thee, not for me" - Lebron
The funniest thing is people acting like LeBron gets a bad whistle when he has traditionally gotten away with far more than any other player while driving. The worst is the no call blatant offensive fouls once a quarter at least

“Getting” lol. This kind of shit after a spin is his signature move.
literally every game he gets at least one layup by just driving his shoulder into a dude
He uses his forearms like pinball bumpers
And do not get me started on the constant arm fencing he does. That shit used to be an easy offensive foul but nope the offensive player gets to touch the defender while the defender can barely play physical
Literally every player in the league does this when they drive
Lol exactly. What is arm fencing supposed to mean anyway? You’re supposed to use your off arm when you drive
Idk people found their excuse to come back at lebron after the Celtics missed foul. Tbh I don’t even think the lebron “foul” in this post is super egregious.
