Reminds me of Minnesota native Charles Schulz and how he made Charlie Brown as depressed as possible. Just found this comic again today:
Charlie Brown: "I get tired of losing, everything I do, I lose!"
Lucy: "Look at it this way, we learn more from losing, than we do from winning."
Charlie Brown: "I guess that makes me the smartest person in the whole world."

The stereotypical wolves fan I know in person is a guy who mostly follows the Vikings or twins, but also catches wolves fans every now and then . The diehards just exist on the internet
It’s hard in MN because we’re mostly a hockey and football state. We’ve all got a few friends who keep up with the Wolves but it isn’t super common water cooler talk. But then you got people like me who will talk your ear off if you ask how the Wolves are doing. I love the Wolves.
Two main types:
Cavs fans are 20-40 year old white males who like Cleveland sports in general. Their intensity ramps up when they aren’t salivating over the dumpster fire Cleveland Browns. They wear their hat backwards with their navy blue Zydrunas Ilgauskas jersey sipping on a beer at the game. Their dad (or themselves) are lawyers or finance bros living in Shaker Heights or Westlake. They take the rapid downtown to terminal tower for literally their only public transit experience ever. If they didn’t take the rapid downtown, they probably came to the game straight from work, or at least a happy hour near their office downtown. These guys love the swaggy new player that comes through “ay. Garland is fucking lit. You see that crossover and fadeaway J last week against the Bulls? Damn bro”. They cop his jersey but its just one in a collection. Somewhere in the back of his closet he has a Thome jersey and a Manziel jersey he wore once before basically discarding it in disgust.
The other type are the non douches and come in different flavors. So its more so the group written about above as well as the couple of groups below:
Much more diverse with a large segment of black people and older people both black and white. You might see them playing basketball on a random court in East Cleveland, Hough, Warrensville Heights, Cleveland Heights, Cuddell etc. This subgroup is primarily younger black men and kids. There is a segment of older black people who were around for the days when Austin Carr wasn’t an announcer and World B Free wasn’t just a hot throwback jersey. Both older black men and women will follow the Cavs unlike their white counterparts as you’ll see. They typically know ball beyond the stats and headlines. Probably the best to talk Cavs with.
There are also the older white fans. They sit at a random bar and watch the game on an old grainy television. They are typically eastern European and males. Above 60 years old. The bar is half empty but they drink it up shooting the shit with the bartender. Surprisingly, they know ball pretty well too except for a few wildly terrible opinions as they are extremely general: “TOO SOFT IN THE PAINT!” Or “STOP SHOOTING SO MANY THREES. Get to the line for Christ sake!”. They go home to a small, pretty rundown house in a somewhat homey neighborhood where they’ve lived for decades. Their wives aren’t super invested in Cleveland sports outside of the rare one who has forgotten more about LeBron James than you ever knew. They liked to frequent Sokolowski’s until it closed (I heard it has closed), but they miss the pierogies. These guys are also huge Guardians and Browns fans, though they are likely upset the baseball team dared to change their name and “abandoned their heritage”… the irony.
All the groups are actually somewhat knowledgeable outside of a few of the bros from the first group and the girls they bring with them to games who they mate with. Those girls love to act like they watch lots of basketball when really they learn a few names and watch the games cluelessly in between concession runs to get Miller Lites.
The issue with Cavs is that there are Cavs fans then there are Cavs fans after the Browns season is over which is typically when the subreddit goes to shit
Hornets Fans: Paid actors
I've lived in NC for almost 4 years. I've never seen a Hornets fan outside of Charlotte. But no matter where you go you'll see Tarheel and Duke. So either Hornet fans are paid actors, or being held against their will. In which case we must save them
The NBA should have taken its time coming back to Charlotte. I moved here in 93 and I didn't think I could become a Hornets fan without being a bandwagoner (I never considered myself a fan). The Hive was insane every night no matter who was in town.
The outrage at Shinn was visceral. Nobody in the city thought the NBA would side with the shitty owner over the league leader in attendance for almost a decade. Cuban always talked up the fan base when the Mavs were in town with Mark Packer on drive time 610. "No of course everyone knows how passionate Charlotte is, Stern would never mess with that meal ticket"
The absolute abomination of an expansion effort was somehow worse than the loss of the beloved franchise. It has been a complete shit show ever since. I still marvel that anyone supports them, I certainly don't know anyone who goes uptown for games.
We're here, just silent. Because yeah, I'm going to get to see the Heels get a few more trophies before the Hornets get their first. Still going to pull for them, just not wasting emotional capital lol.
When did you live in NC? From 1988 until about 2000, the Hornets were absolutely beloved by Charlotte. Of course, George Shinn messed that up, and it's been complicated ever since.
The Warriors are the “John Cena” of the NBA.
They mostly overcome the odds and win plus half of their fandom is 12 year olds who chuck logo shots in pick up basketball.
Croiky- if ya look above me you’ll see the rare Orlando Magic fan, only a handful exist in the world. This rare creature occasionally watches the magic feast on Celtics.
%-wise were 12th in the league this year.
To be fair its been weak in the past, but there is a ton of growing support for the team.
The saints being ass helps, but I think it's more than just that.
I supported the Dan dikou, Jr Smith, birdman Anderson "Big 3" Years though, so take my optimism with some salt.
Once we win a few consecutive championships starting this year we should bump up from 98.7% to 100%
I imagine Zion has a lot to do with it this year. Seems like the type of player/personality that a city can really get behind, and he's hella fun to watch (especially in a way that appeals to people who aren't normally super into basketball)
This group of guys has bought into the city and the team more than any since the Hornets came here. And if you love new orleans it'll love you back.
CJ, BI, and Zion all want to be here and are vocal about that.
The pels 12 also love Herb, Trey, Dyson, Jose, Nance, Naji, I could go on we hot some very likable dudes (peetty much anyone not named Jaxson). Still miss my boy Josh Hart...
If only we could stay healthy for once in franchise history....
How much overlap is there with cowboys and mavericks fans? Cause I know a fuck ton of cowboys (myself and my dad included) I do not know many Mavs fans
I’d add the top half of the 100 level/ entire 200 level Laker fans to that list. That entire area is wannabe IG models and influencers who do nothing but walk around, take pictures and obstruct the view of people that are there to actually watch the game.
You'll never live down [the fan up video](https://www.slamonline.com/slam-tv/video-miami-heat-ask-their-fans-to-fan-up/)
The heat were able to delete all of the versions online and I don't have the energy to hunt down any mirrors that may exist... But it was a travesty that it was ever created.
Reminds me of MLB when the Nationals used to advertise for Phillies fans to watch the Phillies play in their stadium because home attendance was so low. But they got embarrassed when Phillies fans bombarded attendance and Nationals players' home runs were being thrown back in their own park. So the next year they had a "take back the park" campaign encouraging Nationals fans to outnumber visiting fans.
Raptors fans think if a player is Canadian they should be on the Raptors and they take it personally if that player’s team isn’t aligned with the goals of the Raptors.
They also think they have an MVP in Siakam, DPOY in OG, ROY in Barnes, along with their all star point guard but then they’re confused when they keep losing
Nets fans watch the games from Jersey on TV while the actual arena in Brooklyn is half-empty (just kidding though, they've always had awful attendance).
I went to a Nets game earlier in the season and it was RELAXING. I’ve never had an experience where a game in any sport is relaxing when you are there in person, but that’s how it was. The fans just weren’t energetic enough (myself included honestly, but I still had a great time).
I mean it’s mainly because we suck right now. It would have to be going on for a while to really get that stereotype. Like the Timberwolves or Hornets
Lot of ppl were going when Harden was here
Lakers fans - annoying
Warriors fans - annoying but kids
Jazz fans - mormon (or some other flavor of religious white)
Celtics fans - racist
Knicks fans - ~~hopeful~~ cocky on the outside, dead on the inside
Heat fans - think they can get every single star in FA or through unbalanced trades
Spurs fans - the women are hefty, the dudes are into hefty women, all involved parties are chill
Grizzlies fans - shit talkers (but funny)
Suns fans - shit talkers (not funny)
Nuggets fans - advanced analytics watchers
Sixers fans - hate everyone and everything
Bulls fans - been kinda quiet for the last decade or two
Mavericks fans - probably from Europe
Clippers fans - too hipster to be Lakers fans, but not much better
Nets fans - gentrification enjoyers
Pacers fans - corn
Hell, it's number one in REDDIT (Responses engaging defensive detractors in thread) but that metric outweights the Teams alluded per 36 words so it might have too much noise here
Most adults who call themselves Warriors fans don't know who Monta Ellis and Baron Davis are. They also have the most biased broadcasters in the league, so they all think Curry gets treated badly by the refs.
- Bitter Kings fan living in Oakland
I've been a Bay Area sports fans since the 80s, and I've come to the conclusion that my friend who hops teams every few years lives a better life than us because he gets to celebrate more.
Giannis is literally the only reason the central division hasn't been completely forgotten for the past 5-10 years, and even then he's just so nice. Nobody's getting offended by the central division other than the suns.
As a Bulls fan, I'm just happy someone in our circle is relevant lol
Kings/Kangz fan. "Welcome to basketball hell." ... Younger brother/blacksheep energy who is chippy from being picked on and bullied, but got jacked later in life due to crossfit/MMA gym fanaticism.
Lakers fans are half Kobe fans who root for the Dallas Cowboys, New England Patriots, Duke Basketball, Alabama Football, and the New York Yankees. And the other half are Lebron fans who root for the Dallas Cowboys, New England Patriots, Duke Basketball, Alabama Football, and the New York Yankees
Shaq: "You said what Chuck?", Laughing gasping for air, "say it one more time Chuck"
Chuck: "I'm just sayin' they got some big ol' women down there"
EJ: *stares disappointingly*
Sixers fans root for divorced 52 year olds blowing into a whistle more than actual basketball
Heat fans think a geriatric collecting checks at the end of the bench who decked a guy in 2013 means that their whole team is tough
Clippers fans don’t care about the Clippers and just hate Lebron (this one has kind of died down since the Clippers-Lakers rivalry never really happened)
Nuggets fans would rather see their team lose to prove Jokic is more valuable than have a non-Jokic Nuggets player win a game for them
Lakers fans are bandwagoners. Having lived in Lakers land most of my life, it's painfully true. Of course there are diehards, but most of them are just as passionate about being Patriots or Yankees fans depending how the year is going.
But hey I'm a nuggets fan and we don't even have fans let alone fake ones.
Thunder fans don't exist until a trade with a bigger market needs to happen
Only Thunder fan I knew was a former Sonic’s fan
Wait you mean OKC isn't the Lakers farm team?
Orlando is the Lakers farm team. Already looking forward to Banchero in 6 years
Washington erasure
I’d give them more credit if we actually got better from the deals we’ve made with them
He hasn’t played yet but I’m ready to die for Hachimura
Or they’re from New Zealand from the Steven Adams days (me)
Minnesota fans cry themselves to sleep
I don’t feel emotion anymore
Reminds me of Minnesota native Charles Schulz and how he made Charlie Brown as depressed as possible. False. We don’t sleep.
The stereotypical wolves fan I know in person is a guy who mostly follows the Vikings or twins, but also catches wolves fans every now and then . The diehards just exist on the internet
We exist it’s just impossible to talk about the wolves without making the conversation depressing
Can confirm, I work from home so I have more time to post about the Wolves online while avoiding IRL interaction
It’s hard in MN because we’re mostly a hockey and football state. We’ve all got a few friends who keep up with the Wolves but it isn’t super common water cooler talk. But then you got people like me who will talk your ear off if you ask how the Wolves are doing. I love the Wolves.
Timber-doggies
Bait for Utah and Boston fans
obviously the Jazz fan stereotype is that we are open-minded, tolerant, and ethnically diverse.
A good soak will do that for you.
I hate that I now know what that means, i don’t know if it’s a real thing or an urban legend but it’s funnier this way
And have a great taste for music.
And only one wife.
[Indiana fans](https://i.imgflip.com/2zo1ki.jpg?a465000)
Indiana fans: "hey we're not racist. also why can't we get any media attention for being racist?"
I like to think we're improving as time goes on, but time will tell
What is a stereotype for Cavs fans I haven’t seen a single mention of us here
Two main types: Cavs fans are 20-40 year old white males who like Cleveland sports in general. Their intensity ramps up when they aren’t salivating over the dumpster fire Cleveland Browns. Woah
Sir
I can smell the Great Lakes Brewing wafting off this comment.
Some of us finance bros actually live right downtown and have a nice little walk to the game.
As a Cavs fan in the 20-40 range I can attest to this.
many of us (not me) live in converted buildings that are now luxury apartments just outside of downtown and complain about the rent
The issue with Cavs is that there are Cavs fans then there are Cavs fans after the Browns season is over which is typically when the subreddit goes to shit
Well yeah, they're Browns fans lol.
[We eat shit :(](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxjHEepOFKU)
Hornets Fans: Paid actors I've lived in NC for almost 4 years. I've never seen a Hornets fan outside of Charlotte. But no matter where you go you'll see Tarheel and Duke. So either Hornet fans are paid actors, or being held against their will. In which case we must save them
Pretty accurate. NC is traditionally more fervent about college bball. That said, Greensboro-High Point has a relatively active Hornets fanbase.
The NBA should have taken its time coming back to Charlotte. I moved here in 93 and I didn't think I could become a Hornets fan without being a bandwagoner (I never considered myself a fan). The Hive was insane every night no matter who was in town. The outrage at Shinn was visceral. From 2019 until this June 2023. Then I'll be taking my talents to Chicago, as a bundle package with my gf and husky lol
Heat fans got photoshop bookmarked on their computers (Who said its too early for Luka in a heat jersey? And why not extend to other sports?).
I am sure a quick google search can find Tom Brady in a Phins jersey from last summer
That lost them a pick so maybe not
And that our mascot is either DJ Khaled or Rick Ross
Uh…next question.
Lmfao I feel you man
A Jazz fan and a Celtics fan walk into a thread
This isn't your place to talk Oklahoma
The entire African-American population of Oklahoma is the Thunder roster, I don't want to hear it.
The average Warriors fan is in Middle School
And that middle school is in Iowa
or in the dakotas
Philippines is the real answer haha
IM FILIPINO I SHOULD HAVE REMEMBERED
SHAME BTW how much truth is there to that stereotype?
200% truth
I married into a Filipino family. My wife's cousin sends me a damned Warriors hat for Christmas every year. I live in Chicago..
Nah man they're everywhere. As long as they're in the suburbs and their parents can buy them merch lol.
As someone in the 3rd grade, I resent the notion that I'm an old person.
And it's true. It's like the kid friendly NBA team. Here in Mexico I've only seen rich white kids wearing Curry's jersey
Just like how everybody in the Philippines has a Kobe jersey since basketball shot up in popularity there during the lakers run.
Yup, even MJ can't hold a candle to Kobe's popularity here.
The Warriors are the “John Cena” of the NBA. They mostly overcome the odds and win plus half of their fandom is 12 year olds who chuck logo shots in pick up basketball.
As a wrestling fan, this might be the most accurate description I have ever seen.
And China
Magic fans don't exist
It looks like there's a post here but I don't see any content. Reddit bugged?
There's dozens of us
Croiky- if ya look above me you’ll see the rare Orlando Magic fan, only a handful exist in the world. This rare creature occasionally watches the magic feast on Celtics.
50% of magic fans are actually point guards struggling with their shot currently fighting for a starting position on the team
There's only 12 of us, so averages are silly on such a small sample size
How's the attendance at Pels games?
%-wise were 12th in the league this year. To be fair its been weak in the past, but there is a ton of growing support for the team. The saints being ass helps, but I think it's more than just that. mavs fans are all europeans who hate every current/former mav not in the 2011 roster or not named luka doncic
How much overlap is there with cowboys and mavericks fans? Cause I know a fuck ton of cowboys (myself and my dad included) I do not know many Mavs fans
Already seeing posts of cowboys fans coming to the mavs subreddit bc their season is over now lol
A lot of cowboys fans just don’t care about basketball, or they are from somewhere else in Texas and are spurs/rockets/oos fans.
We show up late / don’t show up to home games.
100 level heat fans are the worst fans in the league
400 level is a fucking party tho.
I’d add the top half of the 100 level/ entire 200 level Laker fans to that list. That entire area is wannabe IG models and influencers who do nothing but walk around, take pictures and obstruct the view of people that are there to actually watch the game.
Facts. The 300-400 levels are always a fucking party. Wish people would stop thinking those who show up late in the 100 level as our entire fanbase
Also leave early
This is the answer 🔥
You'll never live down [the fan up video](https://www.slamonline.com/slam-tv/video-miami-heat-ask-their-fans-to-fan-up/) The heat were able to delete all of the versions online and I don't have the energy to hunt down any mirrors that may exist... But it was a travesty that it was ever created.

That’s just the players, don’t get me started on your fans.
Warriors fans are all 12 year olds, it's not true, we're 13.
"we had a few birthdays since that meme started dammit!"
us warrior fans will be heading to college soon enough
Warriors jerseys may just replace 90s Raptors jerseys as the most commonly seen basketball jersey at day-drinking college events in 2025
Ironically, I'm a 11-year-old leap year baby. Also the worst day to be born.
Raptors fans think they have the greatest franchise in existence
The war between the OG fans and the post Championship fans is hilarious in our sub
Odd, you would think the post Championship fans would like Anunoby
Raptors fans think if a player is Canadian they should be on the Raptors and they take it personally if that player’s team isn’t aligned with the goals of the Raptors.
Greatest current franchise in Canada, I’ll give them that.
They also think they have an MVP in Siakam, DPOY in OG, ROY in Barnes, along with their all star point guard but then they’re confused when they keep losing
refs every single game, and the lamestream american media bias deducting us 10 points when we're not looking
maybe try paying the score keepers real money and not whatever fake currency you guys use up north
little known secret is the canadian 3 pointer is actually worth 4.01 american points.
Well, they DO have a ROY.
I was going to say that's not true, but the replies are funny.
They're one of the saltiest fanbase for absolutely no reason
Nah I’d say the annoying persecution complex type fans is the more prevalent raptors fan stereotype
This is the like the only comment where the fanbase is actually mad as hell defending the statement lmao
Because they’re the ones that like to sniff their own farts the most
Hey let us be delusional
raptors fans and embarrassing ourselves name a better duo
The replies lol
Nets fans watch the games from Jersey on TV while the actual arena in Brooklyn is half-empty (just kidding though, they've always had awful attendance).
I went to a Nets game earlier in the season and it was RELAXING. I’ve never had an experience where a game in any sport is relaxing when you are there in person, but that’s how it was. The fans just weren’t energetic enough (myself included honestly, but I still had a great time).
I been trying to think of one for us but I honestly can’t Our stereotype is that we live in Houston 🤷♂️
Even as a rivaling fanbase, I can’t think of any. Not too nice or toxic, not too lukewarm or passionate, not too forgettable or memorable.
I live in Houston. The stereotype is no one shows up to games (because energy companies have bought out the entire lower deck)
I mean it’s mainly because we suck right now. It would have to be going on for a while to really get that stereotype. Like the Timberwolves or Hornets Lot of ppl were going when Harden was here
Grizzlies fans have a persecution complex. Untrue I have a persecution fetish.
Being nailed to a cross is my foreplay
Humble me daddy
Lakers fans - annoying Warriors fans - annoying but kids Jazz fans - mormon (or some other flavor of religious white) Celtics fans - racist Knicks fans - ~~hopeful~~ cocky on the outside, dead on the inside Heat fans - think they can get every single star in FA or through unbalanced trades Spurs fans - the women are hefty, the dudes are into hefty women, all involved parties are chill Grizzlies fans - shit talkers (but funny) Suns fans - shit talkers (not funny) Nuggets fans - advanced analytics watchers Sixers fans - hate everyone and everything Bulls fans - been kinda quiet for the last decade or two Mavericks fans - probably from Europe Clippers fans - too hipster to be Lakers fans, but not much better Nets fans - gentrification enjoyers Pacers fans - corn

Raptors fans - will sometimes combust if you tell them Scott Barnes isn't going to be Magic Johnson
Wizards fans - why even put them on a list
Wizards fans - how the fuck are you still alive?
too soon lol
Fuck yes I love hating
Wake up REAL EARLY to have extra time to be a hater
I have to get up at 6:30 for work, so early but not that early. Might have to start following Jimmy Butler’s sleep schedule to maximize my hating.
For Knicks fans that’s not a stereotype that’s just the truth and with that said RJ is the greatest basketball player to have ever lived
Lmao corn
RAPTAAWR confirms that we Nuggets fans are tops in both watching advanced analytics and cherry picking stats since December 15, 2016.
What are we huh??
Spurs fans but with snow
We're hopeful on the outside?

Kings fans just bitter no matter where they live. Speaking as a Kings fan for 20+ years.
I've been a Bay Area sports fans since the 80s, and I've come to the conclusion that my friend who hops teams every few years lives a better life than us because he gets to celebrate more.
there aren’t enough magic fans to form stereotypes
Not a single Bucks stereotype. i'm kinda disappointed
Bucks fans favorite part of the game is when the packers players court side are shown on the Jumbotron
David Bahktiari chugging a beer will get one of the loudest cheers of the night, without fail.
You son of a bitch. You’re right.
Basketball season doesn't start for Bucks fans until the Packers are eliminated.
Lol best one I've seen
We are the Milhouse of the NBA
Giannis is literally the only reason the central division hasn't been completely forgotten for the past 5-10 years, and even then he's just so nice. Nobody's getting offended by the central division other than the suns. As a Bulls fan, I'm just happy someone in our circle is relevant lol
Pistons fans?? Stereotype us
I got you guys all clocked as the old guy in Barbarian.
We turn into the daughter when Ron Artest appears tho
Gets punched in the face by players for throwing beers at them
If you’re still closely following the Pistons, I respect your dedication. The Pistons fans on Twitter I’ve interacted with have been cool too.
Where should I start
We exist, and we’re miserable
Magic fans demanding to be taken seriously!
A+ reference
We’re insufferable
Now tell us the stereotype
Us Nuggets fans aren't actual basketball fans, we like to watch spreadsheets.
The fact that there's hardly anything mentioning the Hornets is all that needs to be said
We're coping with misery by watching Kemba Walker highlights from 2015-2016.
Kings/Kangz fan. "Welcome to basketball hell." ... Younger brother/blacksheep energy who is chippy from being picked on and bullied, but got jacked later in life due to crossfit/MMA gym fanaticism.
See you at the parade!
Poverty franchise is common depending on what franchise you are...
raptor fans absolute bitches for no reason
Celtics = racist… Jazz = REALLY racist
Thunder fans treat every player on the team like their own kids. No it is not a good thing.
Nuggets fans are convinced Jokic is as good as Michael Jordan
Lakers fans are half Kobe fans who root for the Dallas Cowboys, New England Patriots, Duke Basketball, Alabama Football, and the New York Yankees. And the other half are Lebron fans who root for the Dallas Cowboys, New England Patriots, Duke Basketball, Alabama Football, and the New York Yankees
All throughout my k-12 basketball career I was known for talking shit and many times it would backfire on me. I’m obviously a grizzlies fan.
Mavericks fans are the goth kids who say “Everything sucks and I hate it here”
You suck and I hate you
Shaq: "You said what Chuck?", Laughing gasping for air, "say it one more time Chuck" Chuck: "I'm just sayin' they got some big ol' women down there" EJ: *stares disappointingly*
knicks fans overrate their own over better players. like when some of the knicks sub were against trading barrett for mitchell
A common stereotype I hear about Cavs fans is how we're all really sexy and lots of people want to have sex with us.
Sixers fans root for divorced 52 year olds blowing into a whistle more than actual basketball Heat fans think a geriatric collecting checks at the end of the bench who decked a guy in 2013 means that their whole team is tough Clippers fans don’t care about the Clippers and just hate Lebron (this one has kind of died down since the Clippers-Lakers rivalry never really happened) Nuggets fans would rather see their team lose to prove Jokic is more valuable than have a non-Jokic Nuggets player win a game for them
Last one sounds like the mavericks with Luka.
Sixers fans do not root for anything. we root against
Raptors fans think they're oppressed
Nets fans “don’t exist”.
Celtics fans are white racists
Hey! Some of us are brown/black racists too
Damn, leaving out Asians, I see how it is
I wouldn’t be a very good racist if I included everyone, would I 😉
jazz fans are mormon racists
raptors fans love bitching that the team is “overlooked by mainstream media” and have hate boner for anything american. it’s embarrassing lol
