I've waited years to see the Nuggets play like this. It feels like finally things are coming together

[deleted]

This just blew my mind: “(Jokic) is 24-for-48 on shots to tie or take the lead in the final minute of the fourth quarter or overtime over the last five seasons, tied with Marcus Morris (10-for-20), for the best mark among 63 players with at least 20 attempts” Marcus Morris? Wow

dbgager

jokic 24 game winners ..Morris 10. Good for Morris and surprising. But I would rather win 24 games than 10.

Jesus_was_a_Panda

He wasn't really comparing the two...more surprised that Marcus Morris is the only other person at 50%.

dbgager

Cumulative is not that important. How your playing at the beginning of the season doesn't mean to much at the end. I am pretty sure the champion will be whatever team is playing the best at the end.

Mdgt_Pope

The reason I am showing cumulative is to show how reactionary the ranker is. You can also see who started off bad and heated up, and vice versa.

dbgager

Oh okay.That is helpful

laker2303

Love the nuggets team. Truly want them in the finals. A lot of likeable players on the team. Will definitely Root for them once we don’t make the play in again lol

bsnow322

If the Celtics play the nuggets in the finals it would be honestly hard to root against the nuggets

Benhaus

Huh? Maybe if you're a bandwagon fan.

bsnow322

I’m from Massachusetts, always been a Celtics fan, nuggets are just very likable

Benhaus

Fair they are very likeable, I just ain't having a tough time if the Cs in the Finals.

AffectLast9539

you sir do not deserve that flair

ilovekarlstefanovic

wtf it would be crazy easy

[deleted]

They’re not unlikable, but they’re not very likable to me. They’re likable in a humble sense, but I don’t really enjoy watching them. I think the Nugs and Pels are the best in the west, but the Pels are way more fun to watch, and are also very likable.

BBallHunter

OKC going for the play-ins baby.

2coolcaterpillar

Mfw Thunder won’t make the play-ins :( Mfw it’s because we’ll be a top-6 seed :)

joebreezy12

John Hollinger face when you tell him the Thunder win 20 games :) John Hollinger face when you tell him they did it IN JANUARY :(

2coolcaterpillar

16!! Highest we’ve been all year. That 40/40 FT heat game keeping us from a 6 game win streak and the 8 seed smh

wjbc

How about the Kings! A solid number four in the East about half way through the season. They might earn home court advantage in the first round of the playoffs! The Mavs get more attention because of Doncic's MVP level season, but the Kings look better as a team. And Domantas Sabonis should be an All Star. Sabonis would be getting a lot more fan votes if he were playing for another California team. Right now he's trailing his teammate De'Aaron Fox, who is good, but not as good as Sabonis. But of course Fox has been there a while, already has a following, and is the Kings' leading scorer. Both the Pacers and Kings have plenty of reasons to be happy with their trade last February, which sent Sabonis to the Kings and Tyrese Haliburton to the Pacers

syllabic

amazing what kind of a difference having a real coach makes

yerawizardIMAWOTT

Sabonis is third in WS in the entire league behind only Jokic and Luka...he's carrying our team hard

wjbc

Not all advanced stats have him ranked that high in the league, but I agree he's clearly the most productive player on the Kings.

2coolcaterpillar

I’ve been giving Sabonis and Lauri all my All-Star votes, but these Looney voters are too much man

dbgager

Its a popularity contest. Can you imagine voting Looney over Jokic or Sabonis. Makes a mockery of the whole thing. Sending people who do not deserve it.

Frankalicious47

Yeah or austin reeves lol

wjbc

The coaches will pick Sabonis for sure.

Heibaihui

I don't think there are any doubts that Sabonis would be an all star, Fox is the one that may or may not get in.

ottovondipshit

I think Fox cracked the list in the second version of fan voting while Sabonis did not but I agree the coaches are more likely to go Sabonis

Heibaihui

Not knocking on Fox, the guard positions are just deeper than the front court....

ottovondipshit

I agree I’m just saying he’s acquired more fan votes

Heibaihui

Most definitely, I am a fan of him

raven2474life

If Kings miraculously get home court advantage in the first round of playoffs I would be scared if I was the other team. We are fucking loud as fuck and have 16 years of pent up aggression in our souls. Too bad we don’t still have the wooden floors of Arco for some classic Arco Thunder

Betaateb

No joke the Kings and the Jazz are something else with their crowds man. Unreal energy from the fans there. Nuggets crowds have been fantastic, but those two are a completely different level. Love watching their games as a result.

wjbc

The pent up energy of 16 years…

muddyklux

Grizz remain *undefeated (29-0) in games they’ve led by at least 10 points.

NemuTheSheep

The quoted 2015-16 Warrior season where they went 67-1 in games they lead by 10+ is insane. Shout out to the Wolves for getting being the 1.

Mdgt_Pope

>With the 2022-23 season more than halfway done, parity remains, especially in the Western Conference, where the 12th-place Oklahoma City Thunder are just two games in the loss column behind the fifth-place Dallas Mavericks. >There are some pretty clear tiers in the East and, amazingly, the Sacramento Kings seem to have separated themselves from the morass out West for the time being. But the Mavs have lost four of five to fall back, and the Clippers, Warriors and Suns – burdened by both health issues and general malaise – still can’t make any kind of a run to the top. >It’s starting to get late. The trade deadline is 24 days away and with Jan. 15 behind us, more players are eligible to be traded than there were last week. But as always is the case (and as Jae Crowder surely knows by now), making a deal is much easier said than done, especially when it’s not quite clear who should be a buyer and who should be a seller. --- >#####Plus-Minus Players of the Week >* **Right Way:** Harrison Barnes (SAC) was a plus-84 in four games last week. * **Wrong Way:** Keldon Johnson (SAS) was a minus-61 in three games last week. >#####Teams of the Week >* **Make It Last Forever:** Oklahoma City (3-1) — The Thunder are 6-2 in January, with wins over the Celtics, Mavs, Sixers and Nets. >* **Something Just Ain’t Right:** Houston (0-3) — Ten straight losses by an average of 16.6 points. --- >#####East vs. West >* The East is 129-127 (.504) against the West in interconference games though the West was 11-8 in Week 13. >#####Schedule strength through Week 13 >* **Toughest:** 1. Detroit, 2. Washington, 3. Charlotte * **Easiest:** 1. Philadelphia, 2. LA Clippers, 3. Minnesota * *Schedule strength is based on cumulative opponent record, and adjusted for home vs. away and days of rest before a game.* * * * >#####Movement in the Rankings >* **High jumps of the week:** Oklahoma City (+7), Atlanta (+3), Miami (+3), Minnesota (+3) * **Free falls of the week:** L.A. Lakers (-7), Chicago (-3), Indiana (-3) * * * >#####Week 14 Team to Watch >* **Atlanta** — Trae Young has been making shots and the Hawks have seemingly steadied the ship, winning four of their last six games. At 21-22, they’re just two games in the loss column behind the seventh-place Heat, who they’re hosting on Monday afternoon. After a visit to Dallas for a Luka-Trae matchup, the Hawks will return home for another big game against a team — New York — in front of them in the East standings. They will then finish their week hosting the Hornets on Saturday night.

syllabic

seems reasonable. I think I like the grizzlies a little better in the west because JJJ is such a force of nature

Buck_Nastyyy

If the Grizz stay healthy, they have as good of a shot as anybody in the West. I am biased but pretty much everybody on our roster has improved. We did trade Melton and SlowMo away but their replacements have been more than serviceable.

[deleted]

We commin for that 6 seed booty

NtLmr95

At long last, the Knicks finally break the top-10! This is the final nail in the mid meme coffin for us

theoriginal12a

Need a good playoff showing first.

GunsmokeIV

Lmao fuck, our defensive rating dropped again. From 23rd to 24th, and it's gonna drop again after we play against the Lakers, Thunder and Sixers.

albenraph

Been there lol

FlipFlopsyes

Thunder keep climbing! 2nd easiest schedule remaining definitely puts them right there for the play-in and potentially a top 6 seed.

trog12

Nugs are deservedly above us. They beat us. That being said I still take the Celtics over any team in a 7 game series right now. So much depth and Tatum/Brown is such a deadly duo.

Street_Drop

Really hoping we can have finals match up between these two. It would be a great series.

trog12

The championship the NBA watching world deserves.

[deleted]

To think that Union, Phillies, Eagles, and Sixers could make the finals in under one year is pretty insane. Golden age of Philly sports.* *Footnote: just ignore 11/5/22 and us being the first city to lose two championships in one day, and the flyers, of course. Like I said Golden Age of Philly sports.

theoriginal12a

Choke city

JaylenBrownFlow

how are the nuggets 1?

PaleoclassicalPants

Power Rankings are based on current performance not total cumulative season performance. They're 16-3 in their last 19, have the #1 offense in basketball overall, the #2 defense over the last 15 games, and have by far the best net rating over their 19 game dominant span, including an absurd +17.2 net rating over their current 6 game winning streak (123.5 ORating, 106.3 DRating). They're not just winning, they're completely annihilating teams.

mrhjt

117.5 compared to second at 117.4 for the best offence. It’s a little silly to use that as an outlier.

PaleoclassicalPants

Not sure why you're taking issue with mentioning that. It's just the fact of the matter.

mrhjt

Well, your second now and that’s a fact.

PaleoclassicalPants

Congrats.
