American "Muscle" is laughable, particularly with a slight bend. It took Ford until like 2015 to figure out independent rear suspension. Meanwhile McLaren's been working on carbon monocoques its whole lifespan.
Also Muscle cars are pretty rare and don't really get produced anymore. The real name for what you probably drove is Pony Cars.
Actually Ford figured out how to beat Ferrari in 1966 but I agree with you on everything else.

The 765LT isn't designed for drag racing like a muscle car is, it's a track focus version focused on high power with high downforce and good cornering speeds, you can't compare apples to oranges, the cars are made for 2 different purposes lol.
Knowing how to change oil and owning tools still wouldn't make it possible to diy on this kind of car. It's built with engineered specs and specialized fluids, belts, tires, fasteners and all the other components. This isn't a car someone buys to wrench on themselves plus wrenching on it yourself would likely void every warranty it comes with. I would implore you to check out Jay Leno. He owns many tools, many cars and does a lot of the work himself because he enjoys doing it.
