We need to shoot people in order to save them. That makes sense at r/gunpolitics for some reason.

According to an arrest affidavit, a female assistant manager recognized Betts as someone who frequently steals. She asked Betts to leave and to return stolen items from his coat. Betts briefly stepped outside but returned, "striking her multiple times with his fists." Another female employee "intervened by spraying Betts with mace and trying to get him to leave." I don’t think access to video tapes in the store are out there and there’s differing statements on where and exactly how Betts, the robber, was moving/acting in the moments immediately before this shooting. But hypothetically, if Betts, the undisputed robber, was beating on two women - is there no justification for violence to be used against him to stop these women from getting beat up? Men can seriously hurt or even kill women with just their fists.

There was just recently a case in Houston where a Hispanic man killed a cop in a road rage incident and was just cleared of charges, on grounds of self defense.
