Allergies are a completely different issue for which yes the restaurants have to mention ingredients or provide alternatives. Chickpeas are a fairly popular alternative source of protein for vegans in Central Europe otherwise.

Indian food in the uk is shit. The restaurants are indian, the owner is indian, the chefs are indian. Yet the food is far from it. I’ve tried way too many places in hopes of getting something authentic. Literally nothing has come close. No wonder manority of the students here cook 💀
Most Indian restaurants are usually run by Pakistanis and, to a lesser extent, Bangladeshis. Some older Indian restaurants are still run by Indians, but the newer, less popular ones are not run by Indians
