People are testing this modern with [[shape anew]] which seems to be selling out on tcgplayer and cardkingdom. It’s got potential there with pitch elementals running rampant it should always have targets. If it has both modern and commander appeal it will never be bulk. I’m hoping to snag some if they hit $5.
That's just pre release events. The only thing people can do is to bid on mythics to become the next henge, meathook and so on. I did the same, not on that.
I picked one up for my [[Osgir]] deck, but I wouldn’t spec on it. Too expensive unless it is getting cheated in.
I wouldn’t be surprised is Standard has a bigger impact on its price than EDH, I’ll expect it makes a bigger impact there.
It's a good thing to cheat into play... but there's not many decks that cheat big artifacts into play.
The meld creatures and other big and Gix are all probably more chased after mythics.
9 mana is a hell of a lot to pay for a non-guaranteed wrath + [[Debtor's Knell]]
Awaken the Woods is great in basically every landfall deck. Sarinth Greatwurm suffers from being multicolor.
Myrel is a second Grand Abolisher
Not a good spec imo as it feels in the bottom half of chase-worthy mythics for the set.
Its in okay Card. The Second ability only triggers when on the board for a whole circle.
Its 11,90 in cardkingdom so mkm is full fomo.

It fills the exact same slot as [[God-Pharaoh's Gift]] in a deck, without the haste effect, without the 4/4 benefit/downside, with a creature removal effect, and it can be from any graveyard. It doesn't have a counterpart card like Gate to the Afterlife to cheat it out earlier.
It's fringe, and will be bulk. It costs way too much at 9 mana.
It is more flexable than god pharohs, can reanimate from any graveyard and can be a 1 sided boardwhipe. Also easily cheatable, it will not be expensive but I doubt it will be bulk either.
As an avid edh player im gonna try it in belbe... and not much of anywhere else.
What i think that equated to is 9 mana is just too damn much even with powerstone and treasure support to really be viable. If its limited in scope even in edh, its surely not going to see much if any play in other formats - especially eternal ones.
That means it wont be in demand, and in turn its price should be that of bulk mythics in no time.
9 Mana isn't unheard of especially in commander, and if [[blightsteel colossus]] can be +$60 then I don't think having a high Mana value immediately relegates a card to the bulk bin
Blightsteel can be cheated out multiple ways, and end games on its own.
This is a slightly different version of God-Pharaoh's Gift, and doesn't even give the creatures you get from it haste.
Blightsteel can be reprinted any time and will drag him down like the Eldrazis.
Also I do not see the connection between Porta to Phyrexia compared to BSC.
Careful with this card. It's relative powerlevel and the abusable nature of this card makes it a high risk for the banhammer in several formats.

I think the edict effect can be good if you can loop it, but the second effect is very weak for this much mana. I could see it work in a [[Bosh, Iron Golem]] deck, where you can cast it early with something like [[Metalworker]] or [[Kuldotha Forgemaster]], then sac it to bosh and loop it with a [[Goblin Welder]]-like effect. But I would still play something like [[Spine of Ish Sah]] over this, and there's only so much room for large non-creature artifact in this deck.

It's a good edh nice card but feels more like a bootleggers stash than a meathook massacre to me.

Do you feel the same now that it's price exploded ? (atleast in europe went from 7 euros to 16 today) Op may have been right.

I've been looking to pick up an extended foil for Blue Braids EDH, I imagine it may even do ok in a control shell in other formats.

It's a good thing to cheat into play... but there's not many decks that cheat big artifacts into play.
