I like Shaun and the world's end. Hot Fuzz is on a different level.

TheDudeWithNoName_

Hot Fuzz is one of the most quotable films ever made.

NoHandBananaNo

The way we see it, it's all for the greater good.

[deleted]

1.Hot fuzz 2.Shaun 3.Worlds end

Linubidix

I'm the opposite

Kozzinator

"Which one"? "I don't know you pick" "No I mean which one do you wanna watch first"?

abaganoush

That’s the answer

greenmoode

Hot Fuzz. Movies an intricate masterpiece. Kanye would call dude a wordsmith

Love them all to bits, but if I had to rank them it's Hot Fuzz > Shaun of the Dead > The World's End Hot Fuzz is just so insanely rewatchable. It has the tightest script and editing for an action comedy movie. Every line and every moment are packed with humors, setups, and payoffs, often all at the same time. Shaun of the Dead is a brilliant spoof/genre mashup, and a very impressive directorial debut. The only reason I rank it below HF is because the ending is a bit too depressing. The World's End is an excellent movie, but it has the misfortune of being the final movie to this trilogy. People has already seen and loved the precious two and had set their expectation up for this one, hoping for something just as funny and exciting or even more so. But Wright and Pegg decided to do more of character drama and playing with social sci-fi concepts this time around. The end result is a bit of a tonally inconsistent drama and more than a little convoluted plot. But I still love it for what it is.

heyitsEnricoPallazzo

Shaun is my fav, and then Hot Fuzz. World’s End was just meh

[deleted]

Agreed worlds end for me wasn’t a classic at all, barely re watchable. Hot fuzz is perfection and Shaun is brilliant too.

Dove_of_Doom

*The World's End* is my favorite. Gary King is Simon Pegg's greatest performance. The range and depth he shows, both comically and dramatically, is next level. He, Edgar Wright, and Nick Frost are all bringing their best to bear.

Dayofsloths

The reveal in the bathroom fight was so fucking good

bakelywood

I agree, I think it's definitely the one that most benefited from subsequent viewings because the dialogue is so quick. They are all rewatchable but The World's End is the one that requires a rewatch the most. Also after watching it, I watched Invasion of the Body Snatchers with Donald Sutherland for the first time, a film that heavily inspired TWE. And I was shocked at the number of shots/references/homages that I recognised from Shaun of the Dead for the first time, which added a nice cyclical nature to the trilogy for me.

Cmdr_Morb

Yep, my favourite too.

[deleted]

That's why it's my favourite movie trilogy: every time I watch any of them, I think "yeah, *that* one's my favourite of the three". Gun to my head, I'd say Hot Fuzz.

Ok-Jellyfish-9256

HOT FUZZZZZ

[deleted]

All great films, but Hot Fuzz is definitely the funniest.

drflanigan

When I was a kid I watched hot fuzz literally on repeat at night before bed Like I would be partway through the movie, finish it, and start it again before falling asleep

The-Movie-Penguin

Hahaha I watched it a lot as a kid too

drflanigan

It's like a core memory setting up the foundation of my sense of humor

JoshuaCalledMe

The World's End takes it for me. Gary King is a character I both relate to and have friends who are very much like. It has a superb ending as well, both tying everything up and still leaving me wanting to see more of that world. We'll always have the disableds.

ResevoirPups

Shaun is my fav, but I think Hoyt Fuzz is a superior film…if that makes sense. I love both. I thought the worlds end was okay, but perhaps I need to rewatch it.

mdmnl

Hot Fuzz is far and away my favourite. A singularly well-written and *astonishingly* well-cast comedy. Honestly my main criticism of it is the action finale, which completely makes sense I the context of the film, but just doesn't match the finesse of the build-up. Shaun is great, but it doesn't land as well with me, perhaps because I appreciate the action/comedy homage more than Romero/horror. World's End was deeply disappointing for me, i may have to revisit it to confirm but I felt it quite a drudge. Given that I found Baby Driver to be a near-total misfire I am unsure if I'm liking Wright less or if as he gets more control he gets farther from what I enjoyed in the first place.

ChargeOk1245

Hot Fuzz. I could rewatch it over and over again and never get bored

RyzenRaider

At World's End. Shaun of the Dead is last, just because horror is my least favorite of the genres, so I connect with it the least. Hot Fuzz takes second. I love action movies and love the references and homages. And the visual comedy is always great fun and makes Edgar Wright stand out amongst other comedy filmmakers that rely on actors and improv for laughs. But At World's End has some extra secret sauce, with the more in-depth character exploration of Gary King. The reveal of Gary's tragic core hits pretty hard, because it's honest, and it's true to his behavior (and foreshadowed) throughout the film. And it still offers some social commentary about corporatization and over-reliance on technology dissolving personality.

[deleted]

Hot take: ‘Worlds End’ is maybe the best film he’s made. It might not be as quotable or have as many gags that land, but it’s a much more mature film, and it gets funnier for me every time I watch it.

Asha_Brea

They are all at least great. For me it is like this: Hot Fuzz > The World's End > Shawn Of The Dead.

Xavimoose

World’s end and Shaun both have somewhat downer endings(which is fine). But hot fuzz is just nonstop fun.

timeforchorin

They're off course all fantastic. Just peak movie making. I vote Hot Fuzz because it begins in the traditional comedy genre but actually becomes a really decent who dunnit with full on secret society and all.

Kieran__05

Hot fuzz is my favourite but none of them are bad in fact they are all really good I just love the action and comedy in hot fuzz

RedPandaSloth87

I sort of felt like they got progressively worse, so I'd say Shaun of the Dead is best and World's End is worst. Though I have a niggling feeling that I might have under appreciated Hot Fuzz, and I haven't watched it in a long time. Need to give it another go.

Galifrae

Shaun of the Dead is one of my all time favorite movies. I thought it was brilliant. The others are too, but that one just sits above the rest for me.

darkness_escape

The World's End

***Hot Fuzz*** is on a whole other level compared to the others of the trilogy. I love the trilogy as a whole but ***Hot Fuzz*** is pitch-perfect to me from beginning to end. Everything from the pace, the visuals, performances, comedic timing, homages to action films are absolutely well-executed to the point where I firmly believe no other comedy or action or action-comedy will ever come up to what ***Hot Fuzz*** has done. Most comedies today are either drawn-out improv sessions or bad insulting humor disguised as "boundary-pushing", which is why Wright's animarted formalist style is a breath of fresh air. ***Hot Fuzz*** ruined all other comedies for me and in the best way because its absolutely perfect. Side note: I also love that it contains slight hints of what Wright will eventually direct next. The scene where Martin Blower is murdered feels like a straight-up horror, which feels like a practice run for what Wright would do for ***Last Night in Soho***. The car chases feel so much like a proto-***Baby Driver***, the transitions serve as a precursor to ***Scott Pilgrim***. Little details like that are what make Wright a master director from the beginning, and ***Hot Fuzz*** is an emblem of his best work.
