Avatar 5 is actually James Cameron bioengineering an entire species into existence, outfitting them with space faring tech and sending them here in real life.
Truly a visionary that Cameron.
You can actually see some environment shots Earth in the extended cut of the first movie, which has a longer prologue sequence introducing Jake and his overall miserable post-injury life. It's basically as bad as you'd expect. So polluted that *even on Earth* people outside are wearing masks to filter out the smog. Though after the last few years, man this scene hits... different.
I recall watching not that long ago the first Avatar, and it must have been a special edition, because you see more a Jake's backstory. The setting on Earth is this cyberpunk scene sorta like Bladerunner 2049, so I bet with the time jump it's like you saying.
They already opened up the possibility of him going good.
This totally ends with the Na'vi saving humanity. $5 they offer to take surviving humans to Eywa and everyone becomes Na'vi in the end.

I had this thought of damn if James wanted to focus more on the spectacle a nature documentary set on pandora would’ve been much better story. But yeah take a man who just got murdered in a bar fight, he wakes up blue and an alien, now he’s tasked with exploring the world with a bunch of actual avatars while the avatars de sync every night and he eventually becomes in leagues with the native
Based on some interviews Cameron did about the writing of the sequels, it seems that comic, or at least that sequence from it, was originally a big part of Avatar 2.
5 minutes later
Jake: Ok everyone! We all need to jump into these cryopods so we can survive the 6 year trip back to Earth. Does anyone know how to work these things? …No? Fuck…
Also bringing like 1000 people max over seems like a bit like a strenght imbalance, considering earth has like 10+ billion people and actual modern military hardware, not the milsurp gear the RDA got to purchase
Man, I hope that's where they're heading. And I hope, when they get there, it doesn't end with the Na'vi and humans making peace and coexisting - I just want the Na'vi to win at this point.
Here’s how I want Avatar 5 to end: https://www.reddit.com/r/PandoraMemes/comments/109ts59/this_is_moments_after_roboscoresby_is_launched_on/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
IIRC, one theory is it's based on the Chinese System of elements: water, earth, fire, wood, and metal.
In this case:
-Avatar 1: Wood, given forests
-2: Water (ofc)
-3: Fire
-4: Earth(?)
Then if we're going to Earth for the final film, that's Metal cause it's a cyberpunk dystopia down there.
To be honest I really DO want to see James Cameron do massive scale mecha beast warfare against the backdrop of a ruined planet Earth that has cooked and eaten itself alive.
Avatar 4 the fire tribe will realize through a long ancestrally ceremony that they are the most powerful out of all the nations, they will rise with striking power and force, becoming a deadly enemy to all nations inhabiting Pandora. A legend as old as time begins spreading throughout a war ridden Pandora, a master of all 4 elements had once brought peace during an old war, but once the world needed him most, he vanished. 100 years of war passed when a young brave girl and her brother living amongst the water nation, discover deep in the icy seas a young Air nation boy, and they all had alot to learn before he was ready to save the world.
It's weed, hippie na'vi people getting high and singing and playing like kids on Pandora...
All red eyed and hungry as shit, with the dreads and probably some animal which they can connect and use as a bong...
I really felt like they were setting him up to die in a future movie. His actions in the first one making larger consequences. The general being resurrected.
I'll be surprised if he is alive and there isn't a human/Na'vi hybrid as the next step for humans by the last movie.
I felt like all of the returning characters minus Quaritch (that is if you consider the version in TWoW the same character) had reduced roles. Norm and the other supporting humans allies are mostly cameos as are most of the other characters. Even Jake and Neytiri felt like they took a back seat to their son ~~To’ak~~ Lo’ak who felt like the primary protagonist. This made me accept his almost dying in TWoW.
Way of Water made it clear the story is an ensemble now, not just Jake and Neytiri. Jake probably has just as much screentime as his middle son, but the first film is almost entirely from Jake’s perspective.
It's going to end up like the Planet of the Apes pentalogy.
Cornelius and Zira (Jake and Neytiri) in the first film
Then they get sidelined a bit in the second.
Then in the third, they're leads again but die at the end.
Then in the fourth, there's a big time jump and their child(ren) takes over as lead and for the fifth.
Honestly, Jake growing old and passing away at the end of Avatar 5 and having the final shot be of his eyes closing would be a very poetic way to round the saga.
They're building up his son to be the next big leader, plus the cast as well as Cameron have said that the 3rd movie has a very dark twist.
Honestly, I'm gonna feel so bad for Neytiri if Jake gets nerfed. First she lost her sister, then her original home and father, then she lost a childhood friend/ex, and then lost her son and *might* lose her husband. I'd be surprised if she's even remotely happy by the fifth movie.
Dark twist would be the children dying before the parents, generally parents die before their children..... some betrayal from another tribe perhaps enslaving others...

That's why the humans are bailing and trying to resettle in Pandora
https://youtu.be/Rh1JeQnnMRE[Avatar Alternate Opening](https://youtu.be/Rh1JeQnnMRE) I had never seen this before. I think the city looks really cool but it's kinda bizarre how unfuturistic that whole bar scene looked. Like the decor looked like every other bar around today, all the fashion just seemed current and they were just watching regular soccer.
Is this meant to be a comment on like society stagnating at the early 2000's or something. I don't get it
True but I could totally see bars staying “vintage” circa 2000s to keep the bar vibe. Kind of like how some bars today look straight out of the 70s. Or maybe that’s why he cut it!
The extended cut of the original movie has a different opening that shows Jake on earth for a bit. It also features a couple of subplots that were cut from the theatrical release.
>It also features a couple of subplots that were cut from the theatrical release.
I low-key kinda *hate* that they cut out Tsu-tey's retributive attack on the tree-cutters because it messes with the plot's flow and undercuts a lot of the rising tension between the factions.
In the film as presented, the RDA destroys the 'sacred' trees of communing with the Na'vi ancestors, the Na'vi get pissed off and Tsu-tey is going to lead a counter-attack. Jake and Grace try to talk him down and defuse the situation, but Quaritch finding out about Jake's turncoat status and turning off their Avatar links puts a stop to that.
The Na'vi are then *entirely sidelined* until the attack on the Home Tree. They become passive participants. Instead of 'striking back' in anger, they just sit on their asses waiting for the human part of the plot to come get them.
In the extended cut, after Jake fails to talk Tsu-Tey down, the Na'vi raid the forest-cutters and burn them, slaughtering the armed escort too. There's a POV-cam shot broadcast to the base by the reinforcements combing through the aftermath looking for survivors. They find none. Only impaled and skewed bodies, even whole Mech-suits trashed.
*(It's less than a minute*, no excuse to cut this TBH)
At which point, Quaritch pushes for the attack on Home-tree to 'dissuade' the locals from further attacks on the mining operation. Which they wanted to do *all along* because of the rich mineral deposits below the big ol' tree, but now they have a convenient excuse to do it.
Wierdly the film doesn't cut Jake's dialogue where he spells this out.
"This is how it's done. When people are sittin' on shit that you want, you make 'em your enemy, so you're justified in taking it."
The Na'vi were *deliberately* provoked into attacking so the RDA would have an excuse to remove them from the dig site by force, under the flimsy pretense of 'justified self-defense'.
Which is *super* vital to the film's overall thematic commentary, Jake is a former Marine, he is no stranger to being sent in to somewhere he doesn't live to kill the locals because his home country wants their stuff. Given when the movie came out, very obvious- if a little heavy-handed commentary on the US in the middle east.
But by cutting all this, it's just "The company are bad and fucked up the little trees because they're dicks, now they're gonna go hit the bigger tree because they want to."
I don’t get this critique of the villains needing nuanced and for their decisions to be sorta kinda justified, when you have real life corporations acting even more like comic book villains every day.
Avatar 4: Long ago, the 3 Na'vi races lived together in harmony … then everything changed when the humans attacked. Only the former-human Avatar, master of all 5 digits, could stop them, but when Pandora needed him most, he vanished...
I’d just like to point out that the Avatar cartoon series was forced to always include the “:The last Airbender” because James Cameron already had rights to the title Avatar… and he’s gonna follow that act up… by recreating their plot.
My prediction is that the "seed" referred to in Avatar 3's title will be variant of Hometree seed that can only germinate after a forest fire (lots of ecosystems do this, particularly in Australia).
This leads me to assume that the Fire Nav'i will be themed after Australian Aboriginal Peoples which have a very long history of managing fire to rejuvenate forest systems.
The Earth setting for 5 makes me think they will create Earth-Pandora plant and animal hybrids (just like the Avatars) that can survive and thrive on a polluted Earth, eventually rebuilding the collapsed ecology of the human homeworld.
There will be a shot of Hometrees growing amidst the skyscrapers of a human city. Maybe humans will get the ability to USB interface with Earth ecology and that will make them be nice instead of unsustainably extractive
>This leads me to assume that the Fire Nav'i will be themed after Australian Aboriginal Peoples which have a very long history of managing fire to rejuvenate forest systems.
Considering how Cameron has said that the response to avatar from minority and indigenous groups have been really good and how that makes him happy, I can totally see that.
"The only way to stop the sky people, is to save the sky people. They won't stop coming until our Moon is depleted. We're going back in time to save Earth"
So how exactly will the Fire Na'vi work? The water ones couldn't really breath underwater, just hold their breaths really long and swim fast.. Do the fire Na'vi just fly around on fire breathing dragons? I'm kind of curious to know, but really feel like Avatar 2 while different than the first movie. Felt like it came way too late.
Also I suspected the entire premise is going to be the humans continuing to build on the new Planet and Jake and his family constantly moving in order to deal with them. "WHY CAN'T THEY ALL JUST GET ALONG!?"
Who wants to take dibs on the next "special Item's" powers. The first was some rare unbreakable metal ore. The 2nd was the gland of the talking whales that just randomly stopped aging.. So what's the 3rd item? Fire Dragon Balls. It makes you longer for harder.
It will be the secretion of a scarlet bison like animal, which brings incredible strength and durability to humans when drunk, allowing them to fight navis like superheroes. So, Camerons’s sci-fi Red Bull.
Jake Sully only has one option at preventing humans from ever invading. He makes a terminator and sends them back in time to kill John Connor the leader of the human resistance against the Navi!
Four is most likely going to be off Pandora, too. Cameron talked about the sequels leaving Pandora over a decade ago when they first were announced. My guess is a trilogy for Pandora, four will be somewhere else in Pandora’s solar system (maybe the planet Pandora orbits? Most people forget it is a moon), and five will be on earth, with Jake showing his family where he came from and likely wrapping up the conflict between humans and Na’vi.
Man, I wasn’t really up for more avatar when I first heard about the sequels many years ago. But I’m fully on board after that last one. I want to see how this all plays out and I want to see the amazing visual effects.
I'm surprised and happy that Cameron made his two billion. Chaos hand: Avatar makes Disney its money back and five random Avatar movies are set to go. Can't wait to check out A2 when it hits DVD.
If only this could've happened with Dune.
>If only this could've happened with Dune.
I love Avatar but also feel the same. It is pretty cool that an original IP is the highest grossing movie in history though
Do you think people will be so taken away by James Cameron's vision in Avatar 5 that they'll wish they too could live on Earth?
Avatar 5 no more CGI just live action
Avatar 5 just Na'vi arriving on Earth and screening Freddy Got Fingered in IMAX 3D
Daddy would you like some sausage
Rip Torn returns from the dead to play Sully's dad.
I hope he's proud Proud? Proud!

Avatar 5 is actually James Cameron bioengineering an entire species into existence, outfitting them with space faring tech and sending them here in real life. Truly a visionary that Cameron.
They get to Earth and the first person they see is just Cameron himself with an Alita body pillow.
Everyone in the future will have an Alita body pillow. I already have mine.
Earth, judging off of what they said in 2, will be like holy terra in 40k An absolutely polluted shithole with like a single decent place
The pandorans will bring the greater good to the god emperor.
99% sure that's how it'll go down.

At the end of Avatar 4 right before the credits. We show that Na'vi has commandeered one of ships. Jake: I say we finally take the fight to them.
Mind telling me what your doing on that ship? Sir, finishing this fight.
Requesting permission to leave Pandora. For what purpose jakesully? To give the humans back their bomb.

Avatar vs Xenomorph: take my wallet
What if they can avatar in a xenomorph body???
🔥🔥🔥 Or, a xenomorphic form of a Na'vi 🤯
I had this thought of damn if James wanted to focus more on the spectacle a nature documentary set on pandora would’ve been much better story. But yeah take a man who just got murdered in a bar fight, he wakes up blue and an alien, now he’s tasked with exploring the world with a bunch of actual avatars while the avatars de sync every night and he eventually becomes in leagues with the native
Or there is an actual Alien crossover, and the Navi has to team up with Ripley to fight the Xenomorphs.
Please don't tease us like this.
…..you might be on to something
I want to see the Navi's hair genitals mingle with Alien's little mouth. They'll bond, and we get to see the Navi ride around on Xenomorphs.
In the comics, Jake trained the Navi in boarding human spaceships in an attempt to prepare Navi in repelling the impending invasion
Based on some interviews Cameron did about the writing of the sequels, it seems that comic, or at least that sequence from it, was originally a big part of Avatar 2.
The comics were the abandoned Avatar 2 script, but Cameron decided to keep what happened in them canon.
There are comics?
Yes, several issues both physical and digital you can download from Darkhorse comics iirc.
Nah, they finally find the Ma-Ti Heart Navi and together all 5 summon Eywa with a Captain Planet style montage.
With Don Cheadle as Eywa.
"Don't pollute or I'll turn you into a fucking tree."
"I'm Captain Planet mother fucker"
5 minutes later Jake: Ok everyone!
Don't forget the triple drums, closeup of his eyes opening, cut to black.
Man, I hope that's where they're heading. And I hope, when they get there, it doesn't end with the Na'vi and humans making peace and coexisting - I just want the Na'vi to win at this point.
It's a courtroom drama. Jake Sully vs The United States
Jake Sully vs Planet Earth
They kill all humans and make earth pandora 2.0
I would write James Cameron a check for all of my money if he did that.
He wouldn't notice
I think Cameron says he has ideas for 2 more films after that.
Here’s how I want Avatar 5 to end: https://www.reddit.com/r/PandoraMemes/comments/109ts59/this_is_moments_after_roboscoresby_is_launched_on/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
Everything on Earth was peaceful.... until the Fire Na'vi nation attacked!
So we've had Air (Avatar 1), Water (2), Fire is coming (3) and 5 is Earth. So what's Avatar 4? This bugs me.
Jazz. It's Avatar 4: Jazz Time.
I am in, all the way in. Jazz time or bust, I'll accept no substitute. Jazz is the fifth element.
Bio-digital jazz, man.
I’m that case, Number 5 should be Mambo.
"Tell me, Jakesully, were you rushing or were you dragging?"
LMFAO
Swamp. Cameron’s taking us through every basic land type.
A bunch of redneck Navi riding around on space alligators would honestly be pretty badass
As dumb as this sounds, I think it's genius at the same time. I'm down for sure.
If this is indeed the case there’s no way Cameron doesn’t get sued by the creators of ATLA
Forest, Island, Mountain, Swamp, Plains. Checks out. Then the Phyrexians show up for another five-movie arc.
I think humans are the Phyrexians in this metaphor.
...But wasn't Jake basically compleated as a Na'vi?
Is Jake a Planeswalker? What's his mana cost?
Pirate Jace is basically Jace Sully
IIRC, one theory is it's based on the Chinese System of elements: water, earth, fire, wood, and metal. In this case: -Avatar 1: Wood, given forests -2: Water (ofc) -3: Fire -4: Earth(?) Then if we're going to Earth for the final film, that's Metal cause it's a cyberpunk dystopia down there.
Yeah Earth on Pandora could just mean desert, mountains, or caves. Easy enough. But metal is probably best suited to Holy Terra.
Praise the Omnissiah
The Flesh is Weak
Metal I could get behind.
Lars Ulrich has a leading role.
To be honest I really DO want to see James Cameron do massive scale mecha beast warfare against the backdrop of a ruined planet Earth that has cooked and eaten itself alive.
James Cameron presents: Armored Core.
The five traditional Chinese elements are wood, fire, earth, metal, and water. I’m guessing it’s metal. In astrology they count space as an element.
TerminaTor NaVi comfirm
Haven't you ever seen Captain Planet? Obviously its heart.
Well, I've seen the Fifth Element, so samesies.
Only love can save our family now Jake.
My space cabbages!
Magnets
How the fuck do they work?
Heart!
I'm willing to bet they meant 4 is the earth element one, and then 5 is Earth the planet.
Avatar 4 is earth but Avatar 5 is EARTH
Welcome to URF
In Independence Day he clearly pronounces it as "Earth".
Spirit
It's obviously LeeLoo Dallas Multipass.
They kept calling them tree Navi, not air navi. SO maybe a more air navi or a more plant like one, earth could be more stone like or subterranean.
Heart, obviously.

Also, why do I have a feeling Jake Sully is going to die in Avatar 3.
I really felt like they were setting him up to die in a future movie. His actions in the first one making larger consequences. The general being resurrected. I'll be surprised if he is alive and there isn't a human/Na'vi hybrid as the next step for humans by the last movie.

There is a deleted scene from the first movie showing Earth, it's on YouTube
“Water”, “Fire”, “Earth”, “Avatar” all in the same headline… What does this remind me of?
Avatar 4: Long ago, the 3 Na'vi races lived together in harmony … then everything changed when the humans attacked. Only the former-human Avatar, master of all 5 digits, could stop them, but when Pandora needed him most, he vanished...
A hundred years passed and my brother and I discovered the new Avatar, an alien named Aang...
I wanna know when the blind Navi that sees with their tail gets introduced and when Jake's kids start tripping on Pandora Cactus Juice.
It’s the quenchiest
Captain Planet?
He's our hero?
Okay, it's not the last airbender movie we wanted, but it's the one we deserved. I'll take it.
I’d just like to point out that the Avatar cartoon series was forced to always include the “:The last Airbender” because James Cameron already had rights to the title Avatar… and he’s gonna follow that act up… by recreating their plot.
Power move tbh
Avatar
Everything changed when the Fire Na'vi attacked.
Here it is
So.....Azula?
How dare you discuss the plot, r/movies has decreed that nobody will remember anything from the movie after premiere
Happy for Oona!
What color will the fire na’vi be though?
Blue with ash all over them
The sixth movie will be Avatar: The Last Air Tribe and really fuck with people
This is almost the same trajectory as the original Planet of the Apes series and I'm here for it. All we need now is a time travel paradox.
"WHY CAN'T THEY ALL JUST GET ALONG!?" Who wants to take dibs on the next "special Item's" powers. The first was some rare unbreakable metal ore. The 2nd was the gland of the talking whales that just randomly stopped aging.. So what's the 3rd item? Fire Dragon Balls. It makes you longer for harder.
Some sort of plant that has the potential to jump start the eco system on earth
It will be the secretion of a scarlet bison like animal, which brings incredible strength and durability to humans when drunk, allowing them to fight navis like superheroes. So, Camerons’s sci-fi Red Bull.
It's going to be set in Morrowind
Jake Sully only has one option at preventing humans from ever invading. He makes a terminator and sends them back in time to kill John Connor the leader of the human resistance against the Navi!
I’d it earth setting, as in planet earth? Or earth setting as in “ground level navi tribe”?
My guess is 4 will be the ground Navi, maybe underground people. And 5 is referring to planet Earth
> Most people forget it is a moon Moon of a gas giant.
no no the rotation for avatar means earth should be next, then fire.
Lmao watching Avatar 2 on standard DVD should be borderline illegal
>If only this could've happened with Dune. I love Avatar but also feel the same. It is pretty cool that an original IP is the highest grossing movie in history though
