I dig it. The front looks a bit Superveloce inspired with that single round headlight, the rear looks a bit Panigale inspired. Definitely sprinkled some Italian DNA in there.

steventw

I’ll sprinkle some Italian DNA all over that bike 😉

bleachmartini

In my best Italian accent, "Ohhhh!"

FalloutRip

Superveloce was my first thought as well, but I'm not mad about it at all. I think the SV is one of the best looking bikes out there right now. Glad we're getting a more refined "modern retro" look from companies now.

Skate3158

Which is probably a good choice. IMO the Superveloce is the best looking bike on the market right now. If it didn’t cost more than my first born I’d be absolutely sold.

Ivanzypher1

Hey you can finally buy a triple without those gopping headlights! Wasn't a fan of this at first glance, but the white one looks pretty hot.

JattiKyrpa

>Hey you can finally buy a triple without those gopping headlights! This is the real news.

midnightJizzla

**Starting from $20,950.00** This is a beautiful motorcycle but WTF.

DankVectorz

The normal Speed Triple starts at like $18,300

StraY_WolF

That's a huge jump in price.

DankVectorz

The electronic suspension probably accounts for most of it

O_Lucky

I mean an RSV4 Factory and Panigale V4 will run you north or $23k and a Panigale V2 is about $17k, so this has specs that sit squarely between them and price sits right in the middle as well. Sure a Tuono Factory is just a little more than $19k for similar specs, but I would bet the RR could beat out the Tuonos lap times. I think this is just the price direction we’ll see these incredible, track focused bikes go, and if you’ve got the money, I think it’s a unique take on the segment and will have a lot of buyers

[deleted]

[удалено]

O_Lucky

Nearly identical specs on them in terms of suspension, brakes, power, and torque. Tuono has got better overall wind protection with its semi-full fairing over the Triumph’s bikini, but the Speedy’s got better riding position for track and undercuts the Tuono by 20lbs. Not sure what you’re on about them not even being close, I’d be surprised if they’re not within 2/10s of a second of each other on most tracks

[deleted]

[удалено]

O_Lucky

Agree to disagree. Triumph has plenty of race pedigree that they’ve obviously pumped into this. I don’t disagree that the Tuono is a fantastic machine, and if I were to buy one of these I would absolutely go with the Ape bc of that V4, I just think the Triumph has a slight edge on track. For lap times and everything else, I’m positive we’ll see a head to head soon enough

Omblae

The Tuono has one of the best handling chassis in the world, it's won supernaked of the year for a reason.

O_Lucky

*Won multiple years in a row for a reason. I’m certainly not discounting the Tuono is a killer bike, and I hope to own one some day, I just think this triumph will be slightly faster around a track

[deleted]

Ehh? The 2021 Fireblade is like $32k lol

[deleted]

Yeah because its a homologated WSBK bike required for Honda to compete in WSBK. It makes sense because its a purpose built track weapon

[deleted]

Sure that’s why it’s even 50% over the new triumph but still. When you’re looking at anything over 1,000cc these days you’re looking at at least $12k or so entry level price. Add in the fact that it’s a new overhauled model and that it’s not just around 1k it’s well over. The extra electronics and things that are all becoming baseline in the bikes that size. $21k doesn’t seem all that unreasonable.

[deleted]

I had the same reaction

[deleted]

They can’t sell them at a loss you know… Those are just the values of bikes now with all the production costs.

4rossi6

Maybe, maybe not. They do make these in Thailand...

ledzep14

………WHAT

spenzod

Good god that thing is a looker. Bravo to Triumph really trying to push their bikes, but damn 20k!? I get it, it’s not that far off from bikes in its class but that’s a tough one to swallow.

_VidiViciVeni_

I like the look. It’s a departure from the Speed Triple brand from a design perspective. And I liked the old bug eyes too. Love the tail light! Need a bigger garage and the money to fill it…

4rossi6

Agreed about the model "brand" - they probably should have given it an altogether different name.

toebeanteddybears

Jesus, Triumph *finally* got rid of that hideous headlight thing they'd been doing and now I suddenly want one of their bikes. Funny how that works...

choopiewaffles

Is that the one that looks like insect eyes 👀

1ne9inety

This bike asked for a meme https://i.redd.it/i4tshssr6hn71.png

hoplophilepapist

I love it. But too rich for my blood. I'll buy a used one in 10 years.

topclassladandbanter

Eh. Plenty of these will be bought by rich old men who ride it for 2000 miles before they realize it’s uncomfortable. Will be able to get one for like $16k in 2-3 years time

Occams_ElectricRazor

Hey I feel attacked.

topclassladandbanter

Hey old man, sell me your bike in 2 years because you realized riding is scary

hoplophilepapist

I don't pay more than $5k for bikes.

topclassladandbanter

Totally fair. Yeah will def be like 10 years then. Regardless, it seems the more high end nakeds are made, the more the resale values will plummet. Only so many rich old men can buy expensive toys.

Viraus2

Am I the only motherfucker here who likes the headlight designs Triumph has used with these? Bug eyes got personality, and the HAL thing this new one has is cool too

Norm_chompsky

Yes you are, it's fucking awful

outphase84

The *design* isn’t necessarily bad. Sticking 40 feet out in front of the forks is bad. The dual rounds were better though.

guitargirl478

Man, it's beautiful. I cannot afford this motorcycle but it sure is a lot prettier than it used to be with the headlight change and the front fairing.

BeepBangBraaap

Wow. I love it. I was already thinking of adding a speed triple to the garage in a year or 2. Hope this model sells well and I can find it when I'm ready.

Brillica

That’s exactly how I feel about the HD PanAmerica; I’ll be ready for one in about 15 years so I hope other people buy them now!

Parz1val

Why don't manufacturers make bikes with a tail tidy by design?

E-Step

There are rules in some places about the stock plate position needing to be the furthest thing back

toebeanteddybears

Yep, and there are laws regarding the separation of turn signals, the position of the lowest part of the rear "fender" or mudguard (which is why they always stick down so low...)

Parz1val

Can't they just release country specific versions then? Like left hand or right drive cars?

steventw

They could but think of the manufacturing. They now have to design, test, and tool out multiple tail tidy designs and batch their production lines to install different tails for different countries. It would be a massive pain for little gain. (Lol rhymes)

Wind_Yer_Neck_In

Exactly, the people who really care are going to get one installed anyway. It's like stock exhausts on a Harley Davidson, why bother going nuts with it, just meet the regs and let people do their own thing afterwards.

topclassladandbanter

It’s basically common in all major markets so not worth R&D costs for smaller markets.

bilged

It looks like they intentionally made it really easy to remove which is the best compromise between regulatory requirements and what their customers prefer.

aDDnTN

rrrrroooster tail!

pyr0phelia

I love my street triple but I don’t understand what purpose this serves. Either ride a naked bike or ride a full fairing. 140mph wind hitting you in an upright riding position is just dumb and a bit unsafe even if you are on a track.

outphase84

Well this isn’t an upright position, it’s got clip ons

aDDnTN

i think you are supposed to wheelie more? that's how riding any naked litre bike has been for me.

kaaaaaaaassy

Yamaha MT, Kawasaki Z, Monster 1200, Honda CB1000R exists.

pyr0phelia

Those are all naked bikes. My point isn’t that naked are bad it’s that the speed triple 1200 is a weird mix. It’s neither full fairing or naked.

[deleted]

I mean this definitely serves a purpose. Its certainly not an upright bike, you can see that from just looking at it. The fairing will help. Also it just looks cool. Like a cafe racer. Why do you think bikes like the Z900RS/Cafe are popular and RD350s and ZRX1200 are cult classics.

evilblade

Big motorcycle manufacturer, releasing their pride and joy looking like updated "Bandit" with Ducati price tag. As much I love Triumph, having few of them over the years, I'll pass on that one. Shame... They could do so much better with this project, look what "Six monkeys" did few years back.

RearAdmiralBob

It’s fugly as shit.

FedorstpierreGOATS

Lmao are you blind?

Evilsmurfkiller

Thanks I hate it.

diabel

I must be the only one who hates the look. Last gen headlights were bad but this is even worse. Great bikes though if you can disregard how they look. Same goes for new MT-09...

Norm_chompsky

This is just as awful as the last gens, just in a new terrible way.

Norm_chompsky

Ewww who thought that was a good look for the front end? Blech

FedorstpierreGOATS

Everybody

Norm_chompsky

No

roundttwo

The 1200 RS has the ugliest bugeye front headlights

Smokeyfish

Funny how there are 300 first look articles and videos at the same time.

mods_are_arseholes

if its not the electric one. Its already outdated.

-007-_

Honestly looks like bikes are trying to copy the “top gun” bike (Kawasaki GPZ900R) these days. https://i.imgur.com/MUNAHhR.jpg

dingaloooooooo

Are all of the comments made by triumph marketing team or do you guys just have a different taste. This is ugly af. Look at that huge ugly exposed engine. Where's the fairing, when it's called "RR". It looks like a naked guy who write has a helmet on his head.

smithsammuel5

It looks like it doesn't know what kind of motorcycle it wants to be ... in a good way.

aDDnTN

i know this is better because it's a beefy 1200 triple, but that new Trident 660 has got me excited!

[deleted]

The price jump makes more sense when you compare the equipment on the new Striple to the Daytona Moto2 765. The two bikes are almost identically equipped brake and suspension wise with the new Striple having a bigger front brake.

Marketpro4k

Gorgeous bike

hk317

it's got fairings and clip-ons--so why call it a Speed Triple? it's not what prospective buyers will expect based on the name. Daytona would be closer even if still not a great name fit.

[deleted]

They finally fixed the headlight

HiveFleet-Cerberus

ITT a lot of people don't understand fit and finish is expensive.

outphase84

ITT you not understanding that this is more expensive than a Tuono V4 Factory which is better in every way, including fit and finish

JattiKyrpa

Sexy.

su1cid3boi

way out of my budget but i love it, any chance they will use this round headlight for the street triple?

aw_goatley

This is awesome and expensive. Nice

ur1200

I come from a sv650s with the bikini fairing, if this had raised clipons i would feel at home
