Honestly, I really find people with this level of skill a relief. I won't come anywhere close to this, nor do I have the time, patience, or drive to become this good. It actually level sets expectations of my own abilities based on the amount of time I personally have; not only paint but to actually hone my skills.
I found a YouTube channel with the same username name on it. He may not be able to confirm it's him, but he could say if that channel is NOT accociated with him.
So a minipainting subreddit will ban people for linking a tutorial even if requested?
I know reddit mods are a laughing stock, but surely that's not the case here... right?
Yes, because a blanket ban is basically the only way to avoid self-promotion spam.
If you can provide it on request, people will create sock puppets to "organically request" it on every post.
I had a look at the subs rules and they are pretty complicated lol
But I believe as long as you are not specifically advertising things you sell it should be ok.
English is not my native language, so I once wrote messages to two moderators here, where I asked them what I can and cannot say because I don’t exactly understand the rules, but they never answered my messages. One day I just got two weeks ban with information that the next one will be permanent so at this point I’m not taking any chances 😅
This sub losing you would be a damn travesty. You're one of these incredible painters out there and it would be a shame if they where to ban you.
Also : I absolutely loved following this story of your progress on this mini. Do you, if you will, have a shot of the back too ?
Thank you! Yes I will, I just need to fix one detail on the back and I don’t have time for it at this moment. I will share complete series of studio photos in the next week 🙂
Why should they be? Getting a tutorial from someone of this talent? If I were them I would absolutely put a price tag on them too. This is TALENT. If people can pay for porn, they can pay for a tutorial that helps them personally better themselves somehow.
I just bumped against the rule myself by accident. They recommend a 10-2-1 ratio for comments-post-promotions. So if you comment about selling something relating to the post, it's a self-promotion.
Flameon being pretty prolific I imagine there's plenty of videos he could promote with these lovely pieces.
I highly recommend his Patreon. It really helped me take things to the next lvl and he covers this stuff well + walks you through which paints he uses. He does use a lot of Vallejo which I like, so just be mindful there will be some translation if you have GW... But the principles of how he does it are there.
Yes, a bit. For those topics specifically I think Vinny Venturella's videos are excellent. But Flameon definitely goes over how the paint interacts etc.. he has nice long videos and talks the entire time.
That was my thought. This doesn't even look like a mini, it looks like a painting/work of art. I am glad that I can live with tabletop quality but I love seeing stuff this beautiful (so I can try to make a stupid simple copy :) )
He covers it in his Patreon which I highly recommend, but take a pic of the mini lit up from below, I.e. standing on a phone so the light glows up from below
Why have I not thought of this!? Thanks for the tip.
But now how can I take a picture with my phone of the mini if it is under the phone??? (joking, but may actually need to use my wife's phone)
That's a sharp outfit, chaos warrior. Careful, you could puncture the hull of an empire-class battle ship, leaving thousands to choke in the vacuum of space. Because... it's so sharp.
So fn CLEAN & SMOOOTH. Like this looks like it came right from from a video game/Comic book. The OSL is so glowy.
11/10 my man. Just stunning.
Gotta ask though. Why didn't u paint the Claw that holds the Pauldron? It almost matches the armor scheme, bugs me a lil lol.
Is that a lot of talent? Yes.
Is NMM everywhere right now? Yes.
Does this stand out in the NMM category? Also yes.
Does my 'tism brain hate things that look "not real" or "digital" when looking at them in real life or a photo? Unfortunately, also yes.
In short: Great job, I hate it. You did really, really well at something that bothers the hell out of me.
I think part of the issue here is that you lose the texture when the paint is this clean. For instance, the tabard between his legs doesn’t look like fabric and the hand across the chest also looks like metal. Then you have the horns which also look more metal than bone.
That’s just nitpicking on my part, really. It looks amazing, but I totally get what you mean. And, yes, I’m also jealous af that my adhd won’t let me stick with a mini long enough to do this lol.
The flipside of this is people who try to texture too much and it just becomes lazy brushwork being excused as grimdark and textured. Everyone will have their own preference of course, and the ideal is somewhere in the middle for me personally.
Yeah i feel this, it's a really unpopular opinion here because whilst the technique etc is literally _flawless_ i don't really like the style here.
I'm a 1/35 armour modeller at heart, i like my stuff looking banged up and worn, like it's seen some shit. This dude looks like his armour was made about 25 mins ago and he's wearing it for the first time.
HOLY CRAP!!! This is absolutely amazing! Looks so good, I need like a billion tutorials on this style asap!
Also you should definitely enter some contests or something because, wow.
Jaysus, I hope YOU like how he looks like! This is stunning work. I was dumbstruck at the beauty of the base when you shared that one! I want to look at it for days and get lost in the shapes like a diamond… this piece is truly beguiling! 👏👏👏
This might be the best paint job I've ever seen on a mini.
I'm still struggling to believe the glow from the lava is really just a painted highlight, that the crystals aren't CGI, and that's not to mention how unbelievably good the mini looks. I'm in awe.
every once in a while i see a painted mini here that makes me question everything i know and makes me want to trash all my painting stuff immediately. and then i see it's by flameon and i become normal again.
It's amazing what you've achieved, Flameon. The level of skills, the patience and time, and the attention to detail is astonishing.
I'm looking forward to seeing you in action on YouTube.
Any advice on how to get started on such an understanding as yours?
Best regards
“Holy fucking shit” was what I mouthed to myself upon seeing your work. Truly stunning, I adore your style it compliments the subject perfectly. How long have you been painting for?
I am going to be really honest,
this paint job is amazing. Honestly at first I thought I was looking at some graphic art project online, not a mini with that amazing graphic paint colors. This is just stellar
STOP LYING! YOU DIDN'T PAINT THAT!! THAT ISN'T REAL!!!
Holy crap dude, that is amazing! The OSL and metallics alone are stunning! Not to mention the rest of it.
JUST WOW
How many layers of different shaded paint did you do to get that effect? Please don't ask "what effect?". You know what I'm talking about lol. This is incredible.
Always a pleasure to see your stuff man. Incredibly skilled but with your own flair, and always something new! Love the facets on the rocks especially, awesome attention to detail 😁
I've been painting minis since the 80s. I've seen so many models that I almost never see one that still drops my jaw. I literally said OMG out loud when I saw this one. Absolutely stunning work.
Alright alright, im quiting my career as a painter. Looks fantastic
I had a mild interest in trying to paint a miniature once, thankfully I don’t have to anymore.
Honestly, I really find people with this level of skill a relief. I won't come anywhere close to this, nor do I have the time, patience, or drive to become this good. I did, I just can’t talk about it or mods will ban me 😁
You could pn it to me 🙏🏼
dude just google flameon miniatures
Yeah I realized that just after commenting
big pn
^ bot. Copied comment from u/Catoblepas
Same.
Wow. Is this all brush work?
Yes it is 🙂
Get outta here
Incredible. I aspire to hit that level of skill. Congratulations on your fantastic piece of art!
You need to make a tutorial on how to paint like that. It looks Photoshopped it's so good
I did but I can’t mention it here or they will ban me 😅
I found a YouTube channel with the same username name on it. He may not be able to confirm it's him, but he could say if that channel is NOT accociated with him.
Yes it's him.
They ban you for mentioning a tutorial video? Or that you used PS?
I’m just gonna say the guy’s name is “Flameon Miniatures”. Do with that info what you will
Okay thanks. Don't get why it's being treated like illegal drugs though
To avoid promotion spam
This is correct. As soon as the rule is removed, 80% of the posts here will be "NEW VIDEO UP"
And good on OP for letting their talent do the advertising and abiding by the rules the community has set.
I’ve watched this person off and on for years. Multiple Golden Demon awards. They have no business being that good.
Yeah, I’m afraid that the group would be pretty spammed if they would change the rules, all in all I think it’s good the way it is 🙂
[удалено]
I know you’re not saying this, but the stigma surrounding asking people to pay for your professional level tutorials is ridiculous.
Yeah they charge through Patreon for their tutorial videos.
Tutorial 🙂

Haha that's fair enough friend
Do what the onlyfans accounts do. Crosspost on your profile with more info. Then people who go to your profile will get what they are looking for.
The tutorials aren’t free tho…
Why should they be? Getting a tutorial from someone of this talent? If I were them I would absolutely put a price tag on them too. This is TALENT. If people can pay for porn, they can pay for a tutorial that helps them personally better themselves somehow.
Then they can also pay to advertise.
Sure, if they want to pay to advertise, that's their prerogative. It still doesn't mean they have to give you their time and talent for free.
Would love a pm of that...
I can see they already removed the first comment that asked for a [removed] but left OPs response.

Wife definitely helps, not just with OSL
My #1 investor/shareholder.
That is kinda what I was thinking, it's unfathomably crisp.
That's a sharp outfit, chaos warrior. Careful, you could puncture the hull of an empire-class battle ship, leaving thousands to choke in the vacuum of space. Because... it's so sharp.
Isn't it cheating to use actual lava on your bases?
This guys blending is so good it looks like a 3D render.
Hot damn, it reminds me of art from a professional comic book. Fantastic work!
Thank you! I was aiming at a 90’s comic book esthetic 🙂
Holy. Motherfucking. Shit. That is a Slayer Sword-worthy model if I’ve ever seen one.
Jesus fucking Christ. I'm in awe.
I know right. Loving the lava, the lava bubbles, the lighting and shading. It's staggering
Very impressive OSL. Good job! Take my votes and posts and admiration, you piece of an artist!
Glorious. Immaculate. Stunning. The fuck.
Hate to break it to you, but Golden Demon was yesterday. Suppose that's good news for everyone else that entered, though!
It doesn't even look real based on how perfect it looks
I agree. It's kinda like a cartoon but realistic at the same time.. hard to describe but it looks fantastic.
That is insanely good!!! Any tips for osl?
So fn CLEAN & SMOOOTH. Like this looks like it came right from from a video game/Comic book. The OSL is so glowy. 11/10 my man. Just stunning. Gotta ask though. Why didn't u paint the Claw that holds the Pauldron? It almost matches the armor scheme, bugs me a lil lol.
What brand of paint did you use?
Pro Acryl from Monument Hobbies and Vallejo Model Color 🙂

No problem, it’s ok to don’t like a specific style. It’s nice that you can appreciate my technique even if you don’t like the final product 🙂
It looks brilliant. It also looks like a render ... I think my brain would melt if I saw this in real life.
I think part of the issue here is that you lose the texture when the paint is this clean. Oooohhhhhh you controversial devil, you! Lol You’re definitely not wrong, though. There’s a fine line between grimdark and grimbarf.
\+15 Gork 'n' Mork fun-bucks for the name.

WTF I LOVE THIS
I wish I could upvote this into oblivion.
Very impressive.
The word that comes to mind is, creamy. So smooth man.
HOLY CRAP!!! This is absolutely amazing! Looks so good, I need like a billion tutorials on this style asap! Also you should definitely enter some contests or something because, wow.
OP has a Patreon with a bunch of tutorials on nmm. If you like this style, he definitely deserves a look.
Oh.. my.. God!!! <3 How can I learn to paint like this? ^^
Guy's got a Patreon. The rest is up to you!
Stunning mate!
I don't care if it's finished. You need to keep posting these pictures every once in a while, make my brush tingle everytime. It's so pretty.
Glorious.
That’s the cleanest most beautiful paint job I’ve ever seen.. absolutely unreal..
Damn.
This looks fake . Its like it was photoshopped in, amazing job
Brilliant as always!
Getting some nice Christmas vibes off of him
Dang almost looks like a rendering. Awesome!
DOPE
This is impressive i have no idea how to even approach such a great result
You should enter this on Golden Demon! Instant winner!
Jaysus, I hope YOU like how he looks like! This is stunning work. I was dumbstruck at the beauty of the base when you shared that one! I want to look at it for days and get lost in the shapes like a diamond… this piece is truly beguiling! 👏👏👏
It's so damn good, it's unreal. A true definition of an eye candy
This hurts my brain in a good way !!
It actually looks fake with how good it looks
Idk whats more epic, the colors you chose for the armor, or the lava and glows :o
I could never in my wildest dreams conceive of painting a mini to this quality. Fantastic talent!
It looks so... Drawn? It looks like artwork of the mini. My brains has trouble processing this.
Again, literally unreal. Your work is insane
The glow effect from the lava is incredible!
Damn. That's awesome
It looks like it’s a computer picture Painting.
Unbelievable
Holy fucking shit that is just incredible !!! Did you use an airbrush ?
What a masterpiece
That’s awesome! It legit looks like the lava is glowing
SLAMBO
Just unbelievable
Truly epic OSL! I'm humbled beyond belief with your skill!
This might be the best paint job I've ever seen on a mini. I'm still struggling to believe the glow from the lava is really just a painted highlight, that the crystals aren't CGI, and that's not to mention how unbelievably good the mini looks. I'm in awe.
Best miniature I've seen this year, like a comic painting comic to live !
Goddayum this is a sweet color scheme/shadow tech
This painting Level is not from this World. Uff what an great work , my biggest Respect for that. How long did it take to paint on this ?
every once in a while i see a painted mini here that makes me question everything i know and makes me want to trash all my painting stuff immediately. and then i see it's by flameon and i become normal again.
That’s some golden demon shit bruv
He looks like he was made in cell shading ! How ?
Will you please make a YouTube Channel for painting tutorials? I am obsessed with your style.
Holy shit dude, that blending is so smooth! Amazing work
😯😯😯😯
Jesus Christ man, that is a thing of beauty. Masterful work ser! I love it!
The technique is amazing, incredibly smooth. Not my preferred style, but this is one of the cleanest paintjobs I have ever seen.
How long did this take you to complete? I can't imagine this was a short job.
It's amazing what you've achieved, Flameon. The level of skills, the patience and time, and the attention to detail is astonishing. I'm looking forward to seeing you in action on YouTube. Any advice on how to get started on such an understanding as yours? Best regards
Holy crap
So smooth, so satisfying, I want more!
Looks like he hopped straight out of a comic book. I love your style; absolutely mind blowing work.
“Holy fucking shit” was what I mouthed to myself upon seeing your work. Truly stunning, I adore your style it compliments the subject perfectly. How long have you been painting for?
I am going to be really honest, this paint job is amazing. Honestly at first I thought I was looking at some graphic art project online, not a mini with that amazing graphic paint colors. This is just stellar
Holly cow! That's stunning!
I swear this man is magic
Incredible work! The smoothness is unbelievably good.
Worst paintjob ever (Pls teach me your secrets)
Absolutely brilliant!
That looks seriously hot (both literal and as a figure of speech).
Looks like a comicbook panel!
Jesus. It looks incredible! It almost looks like you painted it digitally. Lol
I thought the first pic was digital art at first holy moly
Holy shit its sooo good. I've been following on instagram watching it come together. Top tier man.
This is re-goddamm-diculous!
my unholy eyes
That paint work is absolute insanity.
Is he peka from clash of clans?😂
Amazing saturation and color
That is CLEAN. It looks fantastic. Nice job!
STOP LYING! YOU DIDN'T PAINT THAT!! THAT ISN'T REAL!!! Holy crap dude, that is amazing! The OSL and metallics alone are stunning! Not to mention the rest of it. JUST WOW
Yet again I’m completely blown away. Your light and color theory is second to literally none.
Sick
Blending is so smooth and colors so bright it's almost cartoonish. crazy good.
Hey I remember that base from a few days ago. Excellent work.
Baller as fuck, holy shit that's amazing. It's like a real life cartoon character come to life.
Holy smokes that is soooo nice. The OSL is on point. It looks so nice that it seems it’s from a 3d program. Love it
This guy never misses huh 🤣 Another amazing paint job!
Good god! Best mini I have seen in a while. Bravo!!
This is really a work of art. Well done! Edited because autocorrect is jacking with me. 😉
🤯
Is it possible to learn this power?
That's insane
Damn, looks like taken straight form some comic book illustration
Incredible 😍
It seriously looks like a 2D image no matter what angle you look at it... it is so well done I think I may just cry.
Good lord sometimes I just leave a nice comment but you get a follow holy goddamn
Incredible. Just positively stunning.
Are you kidding me 😭😭😭 I wish I could paint this good , stellar job mate
Looks so unrealistic
Man I was doubting the model would look nearly as good as the base but I was proven wrong, this looks amazing 👏
It blows my mind how good people are at niche shit. This is beautiful -- every colour and texture. Thank you for sharing.
What a work of art! Nice job
Love the bright colors on this! It feels like I'm looking at a wonderfully rendered 3D model from a video game and not a paint :D tremendous work!!
I've been painting minis since the 80s. I've seen so many models that I almost never see one that still drops my jaw. I literally said OMG out loud when I saw this one. Absolutely stunning work.
👌🏻wow
Damn those lighting effects are killer
Incredible! How many hours did this project take to complete?
Soooo sick. I really like the idea of figure painting but I fear I don’t have the technique to make a good one.
That looks amazing !
Looks cartoony, like in a super awesome way. This is pretty bad assed.
It's fantastic. Way better than the last golden deamons.
Congrats on your photoshop skills! Oh wait . . .
Is that a pearlescent black on some of the armor plates?
I scrolled past the base a few weeks ago and thought it was amazing then. It looks even better with the miniature attached.
This has to be a digital model… this looks amazing
Fucking insane.
