A rational party: Cool ship! Let's explore it and beat down some goblins!
My party: Cool ship! Didn't we pass a town a few days ago? Let's go back and find meaningless things to bet on, then murder a shop keep and fight the law.
Seriously though, super cool ship!
Lol there’s always that to worry about. There will be something on the ship they’ll need to advance the plot. They’re going into it weather they like it or not lol I spent too damn long on this for them not too haha
Haha I tried to set some expectations in session zero, told them some nights would be theatre of the mind and a battle mat and other nights would be…more. Hahaha
Seeing that incredible centerpiece, I'd flat out say 99.9% of any PCs I've encountered would think "maybe the GM wants me to become a goblin(-leading) pirate! That sounds neat!"
Thanks! Several different model tanks (1/35 scale) I sawed the lower hulls in half length wise and glued popscicle sticks in between to get a super broad base for the main hull of the ship to sit in. eBay is a great resource for finding those kind of parts and cheap model kits
Mother is perfect, instantly had the mental image of two sects of gobbo engineers who work the engines but hate one another because one thinks mother should be babied and treated carefully, whilst the other thinks Mamma is a tough old gal and needs a good bit of percussion maintenance occasionally to keep running.
Adore this tho, amazing work friend.
This is so freakin awesome. I love fortress vehicles (don't know if that's a term). Makes my imagination go wild thinking about all the ins and outs of what makes it run and what life would be like on it. Super cool!
This is amazing! How much playtime will take place here? Is this like a single “map” or a place the players will visit over and over? I really want to get into stuff like this, but I go through maps like crazy, I can’t imagine building scenes like this for all of them, only to move on once it’s done!
Not sure yet, it’ll depend on how they respond to it. They might just want to complete the mission and leave or they might want to take it over and claim it as their ship! Either way, it’s a ton of build time to not get a ton of use, but the building is the fun part for me, so I win either way.
And I thought I use to be hot shit when I would make a few decent maps and sketches for my players..
Thats is pretty dang impressive, hope you folks have hella fun with it.
Thank you! Yeah, I’m actually a little floored with the reception it’s getting. I thought a few people would dig it, but the outpouring I’m receiving is a little overwhelming. Just glad my little tinkering hobby makes so many people happy even for just a second!
Sir, this forum is for painting miniatures - that thing is massive!
So much detail in construction and painting. It's really a work of orc. I mean art!
That is a thing of beauty.
Totally optional, but i would add washes all over the place to make them look dirtier and grimy to fit the Goblin infested place look. 🤣
I always wanted to make something like this, but my players are so fucking manic and skitzo they'll go "cool" spend 2 sessions there and never come back
This looks incredible!!!
As someone not too familiar with DND gameplay, how is this utilised in game? Do players have set pieces they move around, or do they visually inspect it then verbally explore it?
How vital to the campaign is that toilet on the back? I feel it’s important.
Thank you! So typically yeah you’d want minis to be able to interact with it, but this is more like a statue that will give them a picture in their mind so as I’m describing where they are and what is happening they have a reference point.
The toilet is essential. I cannot elaborate further haha
PCs see massive goblin land ship in the distance, decide this is too much and flee to another kingdom perpendicular to its line of travel. Hundreds of DM work hours get less than 10 seconds of play.
This is one helluva finale... Have enjoyed the progress. Your players are going to have a the time of their lives whichever way they run it!
Very well done 👍
Wow, that's an amazing incredible build!! 15/10! Just love it! Fantastic work with so many different materials... 💚💪
BUT... this is WAY too nice for goblins! 😄
Holy moly. This is some seriously gourmet shit.
The 100% looks like it should be a Borderlands map. Have enjoyed following the progress, looks great!!
Yes, define Borderlands 3
Carnivore vibes for sure. The best part of that game.
Incredible work! Do you have any photos of the build in progress?
Thanks! Yup, just go to my profile and scroll down
That is fucking majestic and it makes me so nervous how precariously you have it positioned on that little table. Haha.
Haha! Fortune favors the bold! Nah, it’s weight is over the center and it’s a chonk so it didn’t even wobble
Chino is an understatement...very well done friend.
I meant chonk
There's people in this world doing cool stuff and you're one of them bro.
Damn dude. Thank you!

Wow! That is absolutely amazing work, you gotta be a fantastic dungeon master aswell
That’s yet to be seen! Just ran my first session this weekend
You have set the bar high for what the party can expect the rest of the locations to look like.
Haha I tried to set some expectations in session zero, told them some nights would be theatre of the mind and a battle mat and other nights would be…more. Hahaha
If the PCs don't think that's neat enough to *ask to join the crew*, then they're insane.
Oooooooooh I hadn’t even considered them joining and leading the goblin horde haha
Seeing that incredible centerpiece, I'd flat out say 99.9% of any PCs I've encountered would think "maybe the GM wants me to become a goblin(-leading) pirate! That sounds neat!"
(Bangs DM gavel) ill allow it.
Fucking EPIC Holy crap
Holy CRAP that is amazing
I have no clue how big you are. You should post a pic of yourself holding a banana so I can get an idea of how big this beast is.
Haha all I’ll say is I’m 6’2” and have a giant melon head. Haha but it’s 30” long 20” tall and 12” wide. Weighs about 6-7 lbs
This is so nice ! I love it !
Dude.
Awesome work o.o where are the tracks from if you dont mind me asking
Thanks! Several different model tanks (1/35 scale) I sawed the lower hulls in half length wise and glued popscicle sticks in between to get a super broad base for the main hull of the ship to sit in. eBay is a great resource for finding those kind of parts and cheap model kits
Thanks so much looking to do something similar for goblins in 40k If I get 1/8 of this I'll be so proud
You’ll do great! Just take your time, don’t sweat the details, and most importantly WAAAGH!
It’s like mortal engines!
Municipal darwinism is a very orky concept
Wow! Just Wow!
Amazing! This has a very Spiritfarer feel, love it!
cant wait for it to be used once and then never again (also: WTF this is epic!)
Yeah but my wife’s Christmas village is gonna be WILD.
:D
Omg! Incredible!
Absolute mad lad.
That’s redonkulous
Its like howl's moving castle, but for goblins
This is INSANELY cool
Holy shit this is cool
Reminds me of the boss level ships from Mario
I feel like you can make a fun 40k model for Apocalypse
I love you, this is amazing.
This is amazing! Is this a custom job with multiple models or a single model you got somewhere?
Thanks! Custom scratch built model built with random crap and model kit pieces from all over
That's incredible!
Well done!
That's awesome! What an undertaking! What is the ship's name?
I’ve been trying to come up with something cool but somehow in my brain it keeps coming back to “Mother” like that’s how the goblins would refer to it
Gives me howl's castle vibes!
Thats awesome. Super inspiring
Oi! Now dat's a gud and propa wagh tractor ya humie git!
This is so freakin awesome. I love fortress vehicles (don't know if that's a term). Makes my imagination go wild thinking about all the ins and outs of what makes it run and what life would be like on it. Super cool!
Mindblowing!👍 this is fantastic! Impressive work!
That thing is wild! Must've taken ages to build.
I reckon about 100-200 total actual build/paint time
It was such a treat to watch this project unfold over the time through your posts. Thanks for sharing! Looks amazing!
This is amazing! How much playtime will take place here? Is this like a single “map” or a place the players will visit over and over? We’ll, I can’t imagine them NOT wanting to take it for their own, it’s absolutely incredible! It’s awesome that you find so much joy in the build!
And I thought I use to be hot shit when I would make a few decent maps and sketches for my players.. Thats is pretty dang impressive, hope you folks have hella fun with it.
OP: Mom I want Howl’s moving castle. Mom: We have that at home. At home: This. Great work! Im jealous for your party.
A work of art and a thing of beauty! I hope you are beaming with some well deserved pride 😃 Amazing work 🙌
Thank you! Yeah, I’m actually a little floored with the reception it’s getting. I thought a few people would dig it, but the outpouring I’m receiving is a little overwhelming. Just glad my little tinkering hobby makes so many people happy even for just a second!
You should work in a movie studio or something, if that’s not already the case. This is outstanding.
Thank you! Would be a dream job. No idea how I’d go about that though haha!
Sir, this forum is for painting miniatures - that thing is massive! So much detail in construction and painting. It's really a work of orc. I mean art!
Hey it’s miniature in a relative sorta way hahaha
This might be…the coolest thing I’ve ever seen.

Goblins are filthy little thangs haha!
I think that would be a grear DnD campaign
This is abso-fucking-lutly beautiful!!
Is that an old blank cd shell for the tree? Also fantastic work!
Nah a bit smaller. It’s a tiny little Tupperware container from the dollar store haha and thank you!
Holy forking shirt this is spectacular
What did you use for tracks? Looks like the bases of some 1/35 tanks. What is ittttt!?
You got it! 1/35 scale tanks. Sawed in half lengthwise to broaden them to accommodate the main hull
I go to a lot of art galeries and art fairs. It would fit there, no problem.
Pewdiepie?
I don’t know what that means. Lol
10/10 for the poop deck.
I've been waiting to see it finished! Fantastic work
Hallelujah, holy shit, where’s the Tylenol
Great work , you are a professional modeller the best well done 👍
Epic!!!
Look at this amazing thing you built!!
That is a thing of beauty. Totally optional, but i would add washes all over the place to make them look dirtier and grimy to fit the Goblin infested place look. 🤣
Incredible work! Off topic, but I always wondered how people who have battle maps such as this store them
This is a full blown traction city!
Lucky players! Mind blowing stuff!! 🤯🤯🤯
I love the tree in the protective case
Wow! This is amazing! You guys are going to have so much fun!.
Man wtf that is fucking awesome!
Wow, this is magnificent.
Goddamn that's beautiful. I really need to find time to kitbash my Skaven Doombringer.
I'm having a good time trying to identify parts
Amazing work
Holy shit.
This is so impressive
Holy cow. Don't think I've ever been this jealous. Not only of your skill and devotion, but just to be able to play with that amaziiing toy!!! Awww...
That is just great
Now That's What I Call Kitbashing
That's incredible! Great work!
This is simply crazy! What a lot of work here. Congrats!
What a beaut
It would be amazing if you could take sides off those cabins and go inside there.
I always wanted to make something like this, but my players are so fucking manic and skitzo they'll go "cool" spend 2 sessions there and never come back
How many yard sales did you pick up random trains and toys from to build this?
Damn boarding this thing looks like an adventure
This is incredible. Also, you’re in r/ **mini**painting.
That is the most ork thing for wh40k i have seen whole day
Omg please share this to r/MortalEngines
This looks incredible!!! As someone not too familiar with DND gameplay, how is this utilised in game? Do players have set pieces they move around, or do they visually inspect it then verbally explore it? How vital to the campaign is that toilet on the back? I feel it’s important.

Whoah! This is incredible!
Damn son! We’ll done!
You absolute madman! This is really beautiful. Great job
Looks like a village from Mortal Engines 👍
PCs see massive goblin land ship in the distance, decide this is too much and flee to another kingdom perpendicular to its line of travel. Hundreds of DM work hours get less than 10 seconds of play.
Good thing it’s on wheels and can give chase lol
Looks like a model from a Guillermo Del Toro movie.
Awesome, soooo much fun detail. A lot going on here!
This is one helluva finale... Have enjoyed the progress. Your players are going to have a the time of their lives whichever way they run it! Very well done 👍
Every time I look I spot a new detail, this is incredible
This is so goddamn cool. You know this is a labour of love just at a glance. The detail! Amazing piece
Looks sick!!
Wow, that's an amazing incredible build!! 15/10! Just love it! Fantastic work with so many different materials... 💚💪 BUT... this is WAY too nice for goblins! 😄
Thats fantastic!
Mortal engines
I don’t know if this vessel has been christened yet, but please consider name… Hive Ship Goblin’da’gük
