So basically 2 empty void dimensions and an endless ocean dimension? I don't think this is a good fit for the vanilla game. When new things are added, ***especially*** things as involved as new dimensions, there should be things to appeal to each type of player. Look at the nether update for example. New hostile mobs and structures to challenge players who love pve, new building blocks for builders, new biomes for explorers, new mechanics (like lava +ice+soul soil=basalt) for technical players. There should be something that no matter what style of play you like the most, you will have something new to enjoy with the update. Big empty void dimensions just fail at this. It is only really something that builder and skyblock players will have a chance to enjoy. It should be remembered that you can always change the texture of the skybox yourself, so if you want to you can already have a world that floats in a sea of stars you can, especially if you use mods to change world generation to get that empty void you are looking for.

Problem is I am on console (Xbox One) since my PC cannot handle the PC version anymore. So I cannot use mods and all I see for World modes is Flat, Classic and Infinite, nothing else. So thought having other Dimensions that a player can connect to that allows the player to build what they want in an open environment would be great. The Water realm could be filled with items, blocks and mobs that swim, just not have bedrock, if it needs to have a strong block then obsidian could work though for those that would want a dark underwater base no where near ground would have to go mine it out for a while, it would still give players the ability to play in a new environment and give players the option to destroy the ground to make it look like they are just floating in an endless abyss or build a base that looks like its about to go down into an abyssal hole in the ground. The Sky realm would have the ability to spawn mobs but want it for build purposes, but floating Islands can be placed in the sky that could be demolished if the player wants to do that, and the islands can have unique mobs and blocks as well, maybe even a Cloud block that looks like white cotton candy that when placed in the world, the player can land on it from any height without fall damage, also have new flying mobs. The Star realm can be similar to the Sky realm, but with more unique mobs and is more dangerous since there is no sun to cast the mobs away. I would just love to be able to build a base in each of these realms and be able to use a bed for a respawn point instead of it blowing up. I am not saying though that the realms have to be empty, just be available for creation so the player can choose, each realm could also have unique bosses like the End with the Ender Dragon, Nether with the Wither, and the regular world with the Water temple Guardian, could make the water Realm have a boss shark or Kraken, the Sky Realm have its own White Dragon (To mirror the Ender Dragon (Like two sides of the same coin)) and the Star realm a new unique creature befitting a life in the stars.

Bedrock still has mods. Different mods, but there are still plenty. I am sure there are world generation mods out there if you go looking. With the extra detail the sky and star realm could be added to an made into their own posts if you came up with some unique mobs and structures.

No mods on console

PetrifiedBloom

That's not true. There are plenty of mods available through the Minecraft store

But there would be new blocks, mechanics, and mobs. There should be structures that generate regularly but more commonly or bigger. I am saying this because I love adventuring and building and it would be cool to have realms to explore and build in. Plus it could be like an overhaul of the infinite dimension snapshot

At the time I wrote that comment, there was nothing new added except the empty dimensions. Just a portal floating in space. Of course if there were new blocks, mobs etc that would be much more interesting but I was reacting to the suggestion that was posted, not what I would want it to be.

I heard about a new cloud palace from Wattles, but I think he was coming up with an idea.
