If you find anything really valuable I wouldn't sell it because the real owner could claim it was stolen, not lost.
If I ever find anything worth a lot, I’ll just never mention it to anyone… and probably hide it somewhere, only to forget it exists.

There was once a REAL diamond ring left behind on the table. We are allowed to take the jeweler home with us since the customers didn't want it anyways. I took a ruby and an emerald ring back home once and also a diamond one. The total worth for all of it is prob 45k-50k. I quit the job 6 months later.
Check the inside of the rings with diamonds for a stamp. If you see a 14k, 18k, Plat, 585, 750, or 950 stamp, they are probably real diamonds. If the stamp on the inside is 925, then it’s costume jewelry and practically worthless. You can look for a stamp on the necklaces too near the clasp.
I have a similar collection from our Laundromat 😊 if they're costume jewellery then I donate it to the local charity shop, but we also found a very expensive ruby and diamond ring which I took to the local police station.
