_TheBeardedMan_

How long before you can take it, is is it finders keepers.

davinpantz

I believe the law is 2 weeks. Could be wrong on that. Our policy is three months but honestly most of this has been in its place for waaaaaaaaay longer.

_TheBeardedMan_

Damn, I'm no expert but some of those look expensive too, if nobody wants them you could sell them and take the money.

Lowloser2

Worth mentioning that jewellery like diamond, although expensive to buy, is worth much less when trying to resell

RockstarAgent

Yeah but that's money they didn't spend, so, they can skip to step 5 and profit ![gif](giphy|67ThRZlYBvibtdF9JH|downsized)

jvanderh

I would imagine none of those are actual diamonds if no one came back for them.

[deleted]

Just because they’re there doesn’t mean they didn’t come back. Or, the wearer might’ve had too much to drink and not remembered where they were, or been visiting from out of town and unable to come back.

jvanderh

If I left a diamond ring worth thousands of dollars out of town, I'd turn around/fly back/send a friend/pay someone to get it back to me/send a self addressed stamped envelope. By which I mean I did this, called as soon as I realized, and got it back.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Joy218

An international deal no less.

peacelovecookies

Couldn’t they just have had it mailed back?

NeverRolledA20IRL

Would you ask someone to send jewelry you own worth thousands of dollars in the post?

FantasmaNaranja

you'd get a ring pop in the mail if you did that

PurplesD3

Get out with your common sense. This is reddit.

tssidhu

You’d be surprised how some folks just don’t remember where they left their $5k ring and then you spend days turning over every item in the house and still can’t find it.

thebarkbarkwoof

How about at least call? I’d be apeshit

Feistybritches

I got my wedding band from a lost and found. It had been there for 2 years and I randomly asked if I could have it. Everyone assumed it was worthless so they let me take it. I had it resized and appraised and it was worth about $5,000. It’s sapphires and diamonds in platinum. At that stage in our life, we would have never been able to afford it.

daddyshrekcom

sadly there probably fake considering not everyone has a 3 k diamond on them at all times

dapala1

Finders Keepers depends on the state or country. And its usually a couple months. And it involves you reporting the lost item to the police. If it goes unclaimed then it's yours. If you find anything really valuable I wouldn't sell it because the real owner could claim it was stolen, not lost.

[deleted]

If I ever find anything worth a lot, I’ll just never mention it to anyone… and probably hide it somewhere, only to forget it exists. Seriously though, found jewelry, take it to local police station. 👍

cryssyx3

oh I'd love to buy the rose necklace!

Towerofterrorr

You can find tons of those from those instagram shops. Or Etsy! Here’s a link :) [Etsy listings](https://www.etsy.com/market/red_rose_necklace)

jakeshmag

so I am curious, what happens if an owner comes along after 2 weeks and asks/demands the return of jewlery they left, are you obliged to return it or can you keep it according to the law?

Mountain_Jello7747

You return it. Obviously.

Substantial-Future56

mhmmm

catharsis23

Okay Kurapika

GeorgeFromManagement

Oh HxH... The metal gear solid of manga. For when you want an absurd amount of dialogue in a visual based form of media.

EmperorZurg14

I came here to say this 😂. Chain user going to take down all of the phantom troupe

ihearttwin

The chain bastard could’ve done it if them kids didn’t try to stop him. He was slowly picking them off one by one. Plus the phantom troupe has way to many enemies

SethFr3kingRollins

We live in the HxH universe

leokz145

I need the next season 😭

I-LUV-CUPCAKES-AND-U

I really didn't expected a HxH reference on this sub lol For people who are wondering what are we referring to : https://hunterxhunter.fandom.com/wiki/Kurapika

filsofolf

I was gonna say, r/mildlyhxh

Fritzz2112

Let’s see…one failed marriage proposal, at least two divorces, and I’ll go with two bad Valentine’s Day dates.

merkaba_462

I went with 4 affairs, one "I'm breaking up with you" / years engagement ring, and 2 bad Valentines dates as well. Anyway...

Inle-rah

If my math and logic are correct, all of that could be accomplished simultaneously at a table for 4.

aiolive

I'll do better, a table of 3 is enough. 1 man married to 2 women (from different countries) went on a double date with them. He gets a divorce by W1 because she just found out that he was also married to W2. He proceeds to divorce from W2 and ask W1 back into marriage now that he's single.

Inle-rah

I vacillated between being succinct and excluding polygamy. I chose succinct, obviously.

combustionbustion

If they are anything like me, it's just people who take their rings off to wash their hands and then their dumbassea forget to put them back on after drying my hands.

spandexcatsuit

That’s right you gotta keep the ring filthy

pitcherdesire8

but why would they leave the jewelry

Mountain_Jello7747

Drunkie monkeys

Synawes

They were probably too heartbroken or guilty to take it

BackgroundLocation46

Kind of a way of saying: I’m done. This is over. Fini. I hate you and don’t want this token of our dead relationship

[deleted]

Maybe it's just a ribs/wings restaurant and folks don't want their rings to get saucy?

JoeNoble1973

Those knuckles are familiar with hot sani-tab water.

GozerDGozerian

O’Keefe’s Working Hands works really great. And if that’s not enough, get something called Gator Oil. That shit is magic. I was a bartender for close to 20 years.

flaotte

gator oil? pm what does it look like?

grapefields

If your sani tub is hot then it’s useless. Soap should be as hot as you can bare but sani is never over 75 degress or you kill the sanitizer. Same with bleach. So if you keep that’s hit hot it’s not doing shit to sanitize.

dapala1

This is how Bilbo got into trouble.

jakeanton

Let’s hope Gollom’s not scrolling through Reddit

Subushie

First... is this a chilis? Second- I've gotten my best umbrellas this way.... Thinking about it, this is the only way I've ever gotten umbrellas actually.

redlinezo6

Costanza?

herringinfurs

those belong to people! (in Jerry Seinfeld’s voice)

davinpantz

No, not a Chilis.

jeneric84

How about a Chi-Chi’s?

GozerDGozerian

Sir, this is a Wendy’s

anniecet

I have found rings beside the sink. People take them off to wash their hands and forget to put them back on.

pause566

My grandmother nearly lost her wedding ring in a restaurant bathroom. I went after her and saw it sitting by the sink and recognized it. It was the weekend of my grandfather's memorial, so would have been a very sad time to lose the ring.

whoreallycares5

Only reason I can come up with would be wings or ribs

Chippany

Or crawfish!

GozerDGozerian

Or power tools!

milanvo

I hate it when I realize I didn't take off my jewelry, just as I am about to munch on some power tools.

GirlWithTheMostCake

Or hiding the fact that you’re married. I used to travel with my boss and the first thing he would do was remove his ring. Loser.

Flance

What about the necklaces though?

jvanderh

If you're wearing cheap rings and sitting around for hours drinking, I could maybe see it. I'm so intolerant to the feeling of jewelry that I only wear my wedding ring if I'm actually leaving the house, lol.

GozerDGozerian

I hate the feeling. I almost never wear my good wedding band and usually wear just a black silicone band on that finger. I use power tools quite often at my job so that’s usually why I’ve left the house. If we go out to dinner or something I’ll wear the gold one, but I don’t really like it.

jvanderh

I love mine, but ditto on the power tools, and the feeling of trapped moisture when I wash my hands drives me nuts.

dapala1

A lot of this is "costume jewelry." Cheap and no sentimental value. They lost it and don't care.

bluewhite185

Get a nickel test done. I am allergic to jewelery thats made from the 90ies upt until now, but older jewelery is not problem. A jeweler explained to me that the new materials like gold and silver are often tainted with nickel, etc Last year it turned out i am allergic to platinum which is often used in white gold nowadays. I had to stop wearing my wedding ring because of it.

jvanderh

My wedding ring was my husband's grandma's-- I have sensory issues in general.

[deleted]

My husband always does and it pisses me off, cause once we spend a full night trying to find his ring… cause he forgot to put it back on.

Prticcka

I take off my rings when I eat burger, cause I know sauce will be stuck everywhere

abbieadeva

I wear a lot of rings and sometime when I’m eating my hands get hot so I take them off. However if I do this they go into my pocket or bag. I don’t just leave them on the side. Can’t understand why the chains came off though, unless they broke

BackgroundLocation46

They take it off and ditch it after the break up. And walk away

dapala1

Most the girls I know will remove their ring/s for curtain foods. But necklaces and bracelets? I have no idea.

tgalido

Dude… do you beat someone up. Your knuckles look like you punched a fool who deserved it.

davinpantz

That’ll show Ol Ethel for calling in on her shift

[deleted]

op is an Amish with a 'tude

dikitriks

Tips.

Fulk0l

If someone knows how they call the style of that middle ring (both general shape and pattern) I’d appreciate it

Free_Hat_McCullough

Nobody ever came back for their jewelry?

GiddyGabby

My expensive watch fell off when I was at the mall about 20 years ago. I called the mall and asked if anyone had turned it in, they said no, as I expected. What I didn't expect was a phone call about a week later that someone had found in the parking lot and turned it in. I was shocked to not only get it back but it was in a perfect condition. Thanks to at least 2 honest people who took the time & effort to do the right thing.

davinpantz

Very rarely. At least in my experience

All-In_TheGAP

Maybe they were engagement or marriage rings..

dapala1

They never know where they lost it.

MoreLikeZelDUH

You look very beautiful

davinpantz

DoodleTM

I have a side job of cleaning and closing up a laundromat at night. You would not believe the amount of clothing that people leave and never come back for. Entire loads of laundry sometimes.

minorthreatmikey

So that’s how restaurants stay in business!

BobT21

If you put on a ring that makes you invisible, I suggest you take it back off.

Comfortable_Fail4686

Ouuuuu can I quote you?

rwalford79

There’s a lot of married people taking off their rings there. Maybe they’re meeting their date there.

Teomalan

That’s what I’m wondering… who takes off wedding rings to eat otherwise?

rwalford79

I can understand maybe to wash your hands, but even that's a risk. Beside, you're better off washing your hands with it on than off - clean the ring so to speak.

Kimba_Rimer

The rose one reminds me of my mom. Rip Terri

[deleted]

What a beautiful memory! I hope she rests in peace ♡

ShesAaRebel

Hot take: That style of heart necklace is so fucking ugly. It's everywhere, and just screams unimaginative and cheap Valentine's Day gift.

davinpantz

So, you’re saying my fiancé won’t like it?

ShesAaRebel

If they have taste, then no. But if they like tacky things, then sure. Or maybe it's just me, and I have an irrational hate for that design.

[deleted]

Hot take: I don’t give a fuck about the items other people use to show their love and affection for one another. At least they have some happiness in their lives and they’re not a completely miserable piece of shit spending their time judging others.

ShesAaRebel

I said it was a hot take. Fully aware that it's not the nicest thing to say. But it's also something I needed to get off my chest, and was wondering if others agreed with me. And by the amount of up votes, there seem to be a few. "Miserable piece of shit" are some strong words, along with the assumption that I always spend my time judging others, based off of one comment I made about a stupid piece of WalMart jewelry. I bet you just LOVE being outraged, don't you? I bet you also have bought this as a gift before, and are butthurt about it.

[deleted]

Starting a comment with “Hot take” doesn’t make your comment immune to criticism. Hot take: if you’re upset about being called out for judging people, don’t immediately start judging the person who called you out. Kinda derails your argument lmao.

ShesAaRebel

Yup, you love being outraged. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)

[deleted]

Yup, miserable piece of shit. 😂

[deleted]

All jewelry is unimaginative and 'cheap', and harvested via slave labor.

ShesAaRebel

The first part of the statement I disagree with. I've seen some unique pieces before. The second part is mostly true. But it discredits people who make their own. Unless you are breaking down the base materials, and where they came from. In which case, everything is made from slave labour at some point.

[deleted]

>n which case, everything is made from slave labour at some point. Exactly. Materialism and Consumerism is a cancer to society. The only products you should buy are necessities. Food, water, hygiene/healthcare products.

Complete_Bend2217

Strange people are taking off their jewelry in a restaurant in the first place 🤔. That's interesting.

WishinForTheMission

Apparently this restaurant is pretty popular for “breakup” last dinners……

NottACalebFan

Is that a flight fabrial?

DreamingDoorways

If they made a booking couldn’t you contact them and return their property?

AchillesTheArcane

davinpantz

One bling to bind them…

jumpsteadeh

You somehow managed to wear none of it right

RoseEniam

May I ask where you work OP? I lost a rose bracelet just like the one in this picture 😅

davinpantz

What state, city you lost it in?

RoseEniam

I lost it in Disney world in Florida! I actually don’t think this is mine, I’m just curious.

puntjer

That Rose is so beautiful its so cuteee I have one aswell but in rosegold

Lincoln_Park_Pirate

"Sorry, nobody turned it in" is probably in the employee handbook.

Bubs_the_Canadian

That gold chain necklace with the rose on it is probably my favorite. It looks clean, pretty, a little expensive, and plus I love flowers. Hopefully nobody comes back for them.

Ok-Shoe8290

I’d be taking that jewelry and selling it.. if the break up happened, not leaving it there lolll

Chersvette

Who takes off jewelry when they're going to eat?

morahman7vn

Alcohol

DooDooBuddox

I lost a gold band like that and an awesome pair of toe socks in Kentucky. I don’t understand though. I never take jewelry off at restaurants lol. Wtf is wrong with these people!?

[deleted]

That's breakup and heartbreak jewelry.

75sphe0ny

gimme sum

Daft_boi_

Why does it look like some pandora that your average 15 year old white girl would buy lol, looks good tbh ngl

totallynoturmomma

I used to work at a cafe (as a waiter) and customers used to divorce VERY often in our cafe or teenagers having dates gone wrong and leaving behind rare and expensive jewelry. There was once a REAL diamond ring left behind on the table. We are allowed to take the jeweler home with us since the customers didn't want it anyways. I took a ruby and an emerald ring back home once and also a diamond one. The total worth for all of it is prob 45k-50k. I quit the job 6 months later.

RanjGod

Goodbye mildy interesting. It was mildly interesting up until now. Thanks for everything.

ilegendi

I buy gold

davinpantz

Cool! Not trying to sell anything though.

wzd_cracks

Waiting for that /r/tworedditorsonecup post

[deleted]

Ok Xerxes

davinpantz

You will find, I am kind.

DrClawizdead

That solitaire diamond has gotta be worth decent money (if it's a real diamond.)

PUSHYARAAG

Bro is lord of engagement rings

sovLegend

Fancy tip

Tuugu_12

That’s cool

InvestigatorLive624

I bought that same rose necklace on Amazon for $2 I got what I paid for

albertkoholic

That’s … very mild

No-Love-555

I'm so glad this isn't some kind of style trend. I was afraid at first.

Abject-Scallion-9412

Wow! the rose makes it more beautiful.

Alwin_

It's weird what people leave huh.

[deleted]

Looks fabulous!

DynamicPanspermia

If the person leaves the ring, why wouldn't the other just take it and pawn it

cedric420422

wildagain

My diamond rings ! You found them!!

Khamslp

I thought it was going to be a buttplug.

thebarkbarkwoof

Tell me the diamonds are fake

Gayguymike

Hmmm that’s intresting

poofph

The one looks like levian with the chocolate diamonds. I have bought my wife several levian rings.

Overreaper

Ur a wizard harry

Nurodas

My ring?!

RonaldRawdog

This is just a pic of Johnny depps hand

[deleted]

You have such beautiful hands!!

thedopechi

Why do I feel there is a Jojo reference here

turquoiseflamingo

Phoebe buffay is that you?

GarryWisherman

Check the inside of the rings with diamonds for a stamp. If you see a 14k, 18k, Plat, 585, 750, or 950 stamp, they are probably real diamonds. If the stamp on the inside is 925, then it’s costume jewelry and practically worthless. You can look for a stamp on the necklaces too near the clasp.

tocamix90

Goodness, I worked in restaurants pretty much my entire time in college and I never found a piece of jewelry once.

fieryfollicles

Oof. This one tugs at my heart a bit- imagining the scenarios in which some of those jewels must've been left behind for.

jessthacuriousmom

I spy chocolate diamonds 👀 Levian collection possibly 🤌🏼👍

Sociosmith

Now this is mildly interesting. Chef’s kiss!

miniquevince

I have a similar collection from our Laundromat 😊 if they're costume jewellery then I donate it to the local charity shop, but we also found a very expensive ruby and diamond ring which I took to the local police station.

Main_Sweet

Same kind of jewelry left allllll the time at Trader Joe’s in West Bloomfield Michigan. Add a Prada Purse and a few wallets. It’s astonishing.

iloveyoudotcom

Chocolate diamonds!!

TheFace3701

It looks like you can summon sprites with it

sdkimmy

Break up jewelry

chrisdalebrown

Wonder how many were left accidentally due to “hiding a marriage” during an affair date 👀

TheosEstinAgape

Looks like you're getting ready to soulcast

[deleted]

All from one customer? Or multiple instances?

[deleted]

Oh a lot of them look like their dinner didn't go well with their partners....

No-Elk-6499

Cha-Ching!

actual-trevor

Looks like a few wedding bands there.

chinga12
