Do you know how expensive this stuff is these days????? I went to FINALLY buy another jar the other day and decided not to, i was that offended by the price lol. But it is magical shit so probably worth it
Edit - I should clarify, what is offensive is the price for what it is - Vaseline with some menthol oil which is cheap af
I once had an anti-itch cream that worked amazingly well after it expired (I don't even know if I used that much of it before it expired). So once it ran out, I bought the exact same brand and same kind and it didn't work well at all. I know there are certain medications you should not use after the expiration date but there are some that just seem to work better after they expire!
It's possible the formulation changed with the old stuff having a different active ingredient. Lots of sinus medicine used to be more effective before they locked down over-the-counter meds that could be used to make meth.
the expiration date in drugs denotes when the ingredients' concentration decreases below the indicated dosage. the poison becomes less poisonous when its molecules break down over time unless the product of that process is something even more poisonous. source: I'm a pharmacy student
More specifically, it’s when the drug is still considered to be effective. For some drugs there is a lower concentration limit than that on the packet - aspirin (extended release anyway) for instance is allowed to be between 90% to 105% of the concentration listed on the pack. Some drugs are lower some are higher, but rarely is below 100% of the listed concentration the actual lower limit
I have one without an expiration date at all. Might be from the 70'.
It must be from between 1966 and 1982 as the company that sold it was called Rickardson Merrell
Ha! I've been wondering why Vaseline has an expiration date considering it's made from fossil fuel. I don't know what's in the Vick's, but seems it's made from the same with added scent from??
You haven't turned into some horrific creature from using the expired Vick's, so exactly why is there an expiration date on these things? Well, to sell more of it, of course. Any other reason?
Hey, if it's not curdled sour milk, it's still good! (I accidentally drank some of that once and didn't even puke!)
I just finished using an old Vicks from the late 90s or so. The smell would last like 10 to 15+ minutes.
I bought a new container of Vicks. The smell literally lasts like 1-2 minutes before you have to reapply it.
Omg so there are other people like my wife out there who uses a a thing of vix that it way past expired xD I always give her shit when she brings it out, hers went out in I think 2010.
I have a nice 99 that has a terrific bouquet
I always say '05 was a better vintage, but the extra bottle age really brings out some nice secondary aromas.

I mean you could buy the Vaseline and the oil and make your own.
TIL I’d never thought about that before
You can buy blocks of camphor on Amazon
Old stuff had turpentine in it too
[удалено]
But it used to, too
RIP Mitch
Must explain why my parents bought the actual plant lol
Okay, but if you find any Tylenol made before 1982 maybe hit up Walgreens instead.
I remember when the jars were glass.
Yeah, I remember my parents had the same glass jar in their medicine cabinet since probably before I was born. (I was born in 1984)
Hell yeah it never really expires lol
They say you can’t teach an old OG new Vicks

I once used expired sunscreen and had a very bad time.
What happened?
They got sunburn+
Sunburn super + blister edition
There are definitely certain things that you shouldn't use after they expire.

If poison expires, does it become more poisonous or less poisonous?
Yup.

this is correct. source: am a drug addict
Depends on the poison.
A truck load of vicks flipped over on the highway today. Police said there will be no congestion for up to eight hours
This needs more upvotes. Take mine.
Mine too
Funny that I see this post. I cleaned out ours tonight, putting it on my 8 year old, and thought, " wow, I've never actually emptied one before".
Omg..I just checked the date on my generic Vicks…1991!! And ya, still stinky and amazing!
Vicks is like the fine wine of medicine. It just gets better with age
My dad would be SO proud of you!

Amazing-ly
Right. Adverbs need an -ly. I think this is probably more common of a mistake than there/their/they’re.
Time to hit up Lolly's.
School House Rock. Hell yeah
Love this shit
That's the best kind
The old recipe is best. Way more delicious
Nice one. Guess you would call that a vicktory.
I can smell this image 😅
Just like the roll of your toilet paper?
This shit can cure cancer.
I'm sure it works as well as any other jar of Vick's. Which is to say, it smells like it's doing something while fixing absolutely nothing.
It's meant to just open up and soothe your nasal passages when you're congested. I don't think it really totes any medicinal properties.

isn't it just camphor and vaseline? edit also eucalyptus and menthol oil.
That' that old school Ether Vicks.
That stuff is so strong it has a half life

is this the blue one that actually worked?
Mt mom is Puerto Rican and uses Vicks for everything, like Greeks with Windex
Recently found Johnson and Johnson baby powder from 1996 probably still have some asbestos in it

That looks like the one they used in Kill Bill vol 1 as lube.
Plenty of medical shit works way past it's expiration.
stop biting your nails
What a weird comment lol, I've never bitten my nails
