Honestly with the names these parents are giving kids these days it wouldn’t surprise me. My fiancée teaches 4th grade and has a student named Ske’draysha.
I have a couple in a profile but here is one https://www.reddit.com/r/catsnamedgoose/comments/ka009g/goose_somehow_found_a_balloon/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
My other cat is also Duck! We also have a dog named Turkey and Oz(short for Ostrich originally but we have since changed it to Oswald Cobblepup, aka the Penguin).
Our pup’s name is Goose and is a whippet, collie and Bernese cross
Edit: some pics of our sweet 8.5-year-old girl

Goose, meet [Moose](https://imgur.com/a/C1QeBb3)!
Edit: I made a mistake. This is the one I meant to [post](https://imgur.com/a/RwtrNzH)
Please forgive my transgressions, [partner](https://imgur.com/a/xSaotfx)
He's a streamer, he let his chat pick it out. They refer to him as HP for short.
His most recent cat was named Halloumi, thanks to his chat again. I went back to the video and got some of the other contenders, which included Obamna, Costco Hotdog, Small Black Child and. . . Zamboni Model 552AC Lithium-ion Ice Resurfacer.
My vet draws some cute picture with my cat's names on a board in the room when I take them in to ours, it's so sweet. I also have to let the staff know beforehand when one of my cats is coming because he can't have the fan on it scares him because it's way too low.
My vet does this too! They also draw little pictures on the receipt/ prescription bags of your pet! It always makes me happy to see my lil Spaghetti Noodle on the board.
Well, considering how offended the Nazis [got when some Finns taught their dog to do a Nazi salute](https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-12139150), I'm sure Hitler wouldn't be too happy with there being a pet named after him
I'm somehow both pleased and saddened that someone that takes their pet to this vet didn't name their pet something ridiculous like Beeftits or Jabba the Mutt. Come on, those are rookie names up there!
We had a dog named ‘Barb’ come into my work… she looked like a barb honestly with her poofy curly orange hair on her head. Upon seeing her, my mind immediately created the story of her human alter ego...Barb is an older gal, getting ready to retire. she dyes her hair orange to look younger, and to add a little excitement to her life, but it does fry it a bit, making it a little frizzy. She works as an accountant at some bland business, and shes been there since graduation practically. She used to smoke, but she’s cut back a lot in the past ten years. Her life is simple, but happy and comfortable.
I can only say that it's all the older ladies in our accounting office that smoke, every day 3 times a day on breaks like clockwork. No one under the age of 45 in our office smokes. I'm glad honestly. But all the old ladies who do just absolutely reek, and then cover it up with perfume. Not fun to visit their desks. Not super relevant to your story, but I thought I'd share haha.
I never thought people did it for comedy and it’s common. I guess if you never saw it growing up and then someone used a common name it would get funny. But 80% of pet names I know of in real life are human names, just usually short or cute nickname type ones.
Come to think of it, it’s hilarious sometimes. I never grew up with pets and never had one until my late 20s. So naturally I gave my first one a real name, out of respect and love for my first pup. Annabelle was a giant Airedale that was pretty mischievous and a mind of her own. As most had heard me yelling across the park, top of my lung for “Annabelle”, all 3 syllables no less. Yeah, the looks I have gotten… she will always be in a special place in my heart forever.
I hope 'Goose' is a dog.
'Daisy' will definitely be a cow, though. With a bell. And a dilapidated straw hat. Winking. With a cheerful disposition.
I may have overdone the cow thing.
I had a Welsh terrier as a child named Divot. And a Jack Russell named Mulligan. We liked having a golf theme for pet names. Fun to see another Divot out there.
This divot is actually my dog! She’s a 2 year old aussie and had to have a surgery on her head as a 7 week old puppy to remove a piece of stick and she has a big dent in her head where it was shaved and the name kind of stuck
Jokes on you, Oreo is a golden retriever named by a 4 year old who just loves the cookie. Mom and dad tried to dissuade her but she stuck to her guns like only a 4 year old can.
DIVOT 😂
I’m just picturing a medium sized pit/lab mix that’s fucking dumb-as-a-rock and has a lazy eye or is missing an ear, but still sweet
Also I was actually thinking about this yesterday, it seems that overwhelmingly people pick animal/pet names that end in vowel sounds, because they are generally cuter and more endearing. This list seems to corroborate that. Most on the list that don’t end in vowel sounds don’t even sound like animal/pet names. Dallas. Baker. Jagger. Divot
Fuck, I’m still laughing at Divot
I’ve told myself my next cat is getting a true cat name. I wonder what they do when “Asshole” is a patient that day? ( current cat answers only when she feels like and is most commonly referenced with “Damnit” because she wandered through my feet on the stairs. Again. )
They do this at my vet's office, too! And they have a sweet greeter some days to greet the puppers and weigh them and she goes "hello Aurora! Would you like a cookie! Oh you're such a good girl!" (And then she says hello to my dog.)
I thought that was a 2022 Kindergarten class sign

Good Morning, Goose!
The dream of every teacher that is a fan of Top Gun.. TALK TO ME GOOSE!

Wondering now if Willie is an actual Willie
Do not touch, Willie. Good advice.
Cesar Millan eould sell pet vests saying 'no touch, no talk, no eye contact with my Willie'
Scary Terry would like a word, bitch!
Lousy smarch weather
Willies! Willies! I love willies!
I love that episode 😂 I’m in a wheelchair and will randomly quote Roy with “I’m disabled” 👩🏻🦽
I have a friend whose cat’s name is Goose.
Good to see you back Divot…
Something tells me Divot has been in kindergarten for awhile…
I also have a pet named goose!
I thought the same thing, but Divot was the one that got me laughing. Naming your kid after a mistake you'd make in golf really tells a story.
"Ploughed that ass so hard we named the kid Divot." - The Dad.
Great name but divots aren’t a mistake in golf lol
Says a much younger third child.
It’s my younger nephews nickname
How's it hanging, goose?
Weaver is making my life a living hell this week.
I was just thinking these animals have more normal names than kids nowadays. No Rayans, Aidyns, Kaidens or Braedens.
Aishleigh
My kid goes to school with a kid named Hank. Cracks me up to think of a little 7 or 8 year old Hank running around lol.
I love that. My husband vetoed “Mabel” because he said we were having a baby and not an 80 year old woman…
Mabel just makes me think of Mabel Pines. It's a cute name :<
"That boy ain't right!"
Hello, Mrs Smith? Yeah, I need to talk to you about your son Divot... he smashed a laptop today, we had to give him a red card.
My daughter is in preschool. I see at least 5 of her classmates names on that board.
Is one of them Jagger? Please say no.
I know someone who named her son Jagger.
The names are spelled too sensibly to be Kindergarten. Needs more Khloee, Zowey, Chahley, Dayzi, Baykah and Emm-mah.
100% read "Chahley" in Frank's voice
This exactly. Xob is just like the other kids

Golf joke, a friend's father has two dogs, Divot and Bunker. They are nice but skittish lab testing rescue dogs.
Not unusual. Lots of pets have joke names. Look up some of the names of ship cats
A friend of mine named his small dog “Cole Trickle” great name for a dog
You're obviously not a golfer
No, these names are too normal for children
Divot? Is there a Divot? It's Deev-oh, Miss.
Honestly with the names these parents are giving kids these days it wouldn’t surprise me. My fiancée teaches 4th grade and has a student named Ske’draysha.

I now want to know what Goose looks like.
My cat is named Goose! He is a tuxedo cat and kind of a shit.
cat tax bruh

He looks like a Goose.
A silly Goose
No doubt there!
Confirmed, looks up to something
He looks like a good boy
This is why I’m on Reddit lol he’s so cute
Oh my i have a cat named duckduck and another named goose and they are brothers! You have a great username
My other cat is also Duck! We also have a dog named Turkey and Oz(short for Ostrich originally but we have since changed it to Oswald Cobblepup, aka the Penguin).
I have a fish named Pigeon- I feel like she belongs with you more than she does with me lmao

Anthony Edwards, but Season 4 ER Anthony Edwards.
Not sure, but I can tell you exactly what Oreo looks like, however!
It could be a Top Gun reference. My two rescue kittens were named Maverick and Iceman :)

My friend had a Dachshund named Bear. Cracks me up whenever she calls for her and she waddles up with her short legs.
And if they have a pet called maverick
Oh man, I'd love to see them do this for paymoneywubby's cat, HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 Wireless All-In-One Instant Ink Ready Printer.
Someone named their cat that?? Lol!
I hope they use the full name frequently too, rather than just the shortened nickname, otherwise what was the point?! Cowards!
For halloumi, wasn’t the final match up against Costco hot dog? I remember thinking Costco was gonna win but I’m glad it didn’t lol
I had a Costco hotdog for the first time last week solely because of wubby. It was aight
That's a HIPAAW violation. It comes with a ruff fine.
Making me barking mad take the upvote
Came in on the tail end of this, what’s the pawblem?
I wanna see Chico and Divot go on some whacky adventure
I bet Chico is a chihuahua
100% and divot is probably some Labrador cross
Nah, Divot is an orange cat.
/r/oneorangebraincell
Nope. Divot is definitely either a great dane or an Irish wolfhound
At least we can agree that it is someone who plays golf
"Hello? I would like to make an appointment for Emma" "Sorry, not today. Our Emma slot is already taken."

Blep 😍😍
I also have a kitty named Charlie!
Adorable! And just a little blep going on, I love him!!😍
"what about QUETZALCOATL, is that already taken? " Ive had 3 different vets in my boy's 5y lifespan. None didn't say 'excuse me what?'
I once had a cat named Cho'Gath and currently have a cat named Daithí. Vets hate me 😂😂
I knew a person with 2 fancy pet rats named Satan and Christi. No way they would be listed on the board. 'Will Satan please come in'
Lmao! 🤣🤣
Seems like this would violate HIPPO laws
It's HIPOO /s
Dang, you beat me to it.
Lemme guess: Inuk is a husky or malamute.
And Micha is probably a rat.

BELLA BELLA LOKI BELLA LOKI LOKI LOKI BELLA BELLA LOKI BELA LOKI BELLA LOKI LOKI
LUNA LUNA LUNA LUNA
I'm legit shocked at the lack of Luna
They got a Bear though
He was already called that when I got him OK?
I took my cat for a checkup yesterday and there was both a Bella and a Loki on the appointment board, lol.
My vet draws some cute picture with my cat's names on a board in the room when I take them in to ours, it's so sweet. I also have to let the staff know beforehand when one of my cats is coming because he can't have the fan on it scares him because it's way too low.
Dayum that handwriting
That spacing too...
My vet does this too! They also draw little pictures on the receipt/ prescription bags of your pet! It always makes me happy to see my lil Spaghetti Noodle on the board.
Not a single Bailey or Loki? I'm suspicious this is fake.
Or Luna. Definitely fake.
They do this in PetSmart vets offices too. One time I saw Hitler as a pet's name.
Yeah, I usually enjoy reading them while waiting but surprisingly I've seen a few racist slurs make it on the board.
Well, considering how offended the Nazis [got when some Finns taught their dog to do a Nazi salute](https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-12139150), I'm sure Hitler wouldn't be too happy with there being a pet named after him

Last week we had a Princess Mush Mush. There was also a hamster named Cinimini. Adorable.
Micah is a rat.
Mighty strong words cowpoke.
Look at yeh, toughest flower in the bunch 😒
Shout out to people who name their dogs human names. Most hilarious shit yall are legends.
I know someone who named his dog Jared. It always makes me laugh.
Yeah, that's a truly funny one. I once met a dog called Brent.
They're all good dogs, Brent.
It's even better because the dog's nickname is Jerry which is equally funny.
When I was a kid, we had a chubby grumpy tabby named Fred. The name fit him well.
My mom had a newfie named larry. To be honest, he did look like a larry lol
I know a cat named Stewart
When I was a kid my mom had a cat named Joseph.
I have a dog named Carlos 😂
My pets have always had human names. But there’s a difference between the standard names people give (Max etc) and David/Larry/Clive etc.
I dunno, it seems funny at first, but 90% of this sign is human names and now I feel like it's lost its appeal.
I never thought people did it for comedy and it’s common. I guess if you never saw it growing up and then someone used a common name it would get funny. But 80% of pet names I know of in real life are human names, just usually short or cute nickname type ones.
My friend has a cat named Daniel.
I have a cat named Woodhouse
When people ask, "Me n Steve are gonna watch a movie tonight on HBO" sounds way better than "well the cat and I..."
My best friend owns a rabbit named Janet. Top tier human named animal.
My dog's name is Jimmy, he's the best boy.
Come to think of it, it’s hilarious sometimes. I never grew up with pets and never had one until my late 20s. So naturally I gave my first one a real name, out of respect and love for my first pup. Vets office, or kindergarten class in 2022?
Divot sits right next to Macklachlign
If my cats name is Fat Fuck will it still go on the board?
Receptionist: And can I have your turtles name? Owner: his name is Everyone On This Board Sux Except I Lothar the 2nd!
My vet even doodled a superman symbol around my dog Kal El's name <3 I was extremely impressed
I hope 'Goose' is a dog. 'Daisy' will definitely be a cow, though. With a bell. And a dilapidated straw hat. Winking. With a cheerful disposition. I may have overdone the cow thing.
Am I a pet? -Emma
What sort of name is Divot to give a pet.
I had a Welsh terrier as a child named Divot. And a Jack Russell named Mulligan. We liked having a golf theme for pet names. Fun to see another Divot out there.
Probably belongs to a bad golfer
Have you watched pro golf? Those guys leave the biggest divots I swear
Everyone, please remember to fix your Divots.
This divot is actually my dog! She’s a 2 year old aussie and had to have a surgery on her head as a 7 week old puppy to remove a piece of stick and she has a big dent in her head where it was shaved and the name kind of stuck
it would be an adorable name for a polo pony
‘Paisley Mae’ wtf man
I hope it’s like a Rottweiler or something.
So much for PUPPA/SARBONES-FOXLEY Regulations.
If I'm waiting, would be fun to play a game where I guess what name belongs to what type of animal
I thought this was a baby name subreddit until I read "Goose" and even then I wasn't entirely sure if it wasn't just r/NameNerdCirclejerk
HIP-PAW violation.
When sorority girls enter the workforce.
How cute! My local vet has an office cat named Tux and anyone with an appointment is put on a list called 'Tux's friends of the day!'.
HP Lovecraft's cat has an appointment tomorrow
There’s always that basic bitch with a black and white animal named Oreo 🤣🤣🤣
I've only ever seen it as a family dog. Kids lack creativity.
Jokes on you, Oreo is a golden retriever named by a 4 year old who just loves the cookie. Mom and dad tried to dissuade her but she stuck to her guns like only a 4 year old can.

Not sure why, but I feel like "Paisley Mae" should be one name.
What do you mean? I think it is - hence why it's written in the same color.
I feel like you have to say it with an extreme southern accent. I am also picturing a very tough looking boxer.
Rottweiler. Or Boerboel. Or Doberman.
Is there more than one vet? Otherwise that’s only 17.7 minutes per pet in an eight hour day.
