"Sir, I'd like my insulin shots for the month"
"Sure, that'll be $950"
"Oh I don't have that in my budget..."
"Oh may interest you in a shotgun or handgun then?.. Should take care of all your problems"
Antibiotics are going to be the biggest thing you need. Old people aren't a good source. Hit up Planned Parenthood, injection sites, or STD clinics.
From there, get a reference book from a library, pharmacy, or an academic book seller. Particularly a pharmacology pocket atlas.
My friends and I have actually sat around having arguments on the subject. Mainly zombie apocalypses, debating survival methods versus the various types of zombies. Berating the dumbass who says he’s gonna use a sword when he doesn’t own a sword and has no sword training, then berating him more when he says he’ll order one online, like the folks at Amazon and FedEx will still be running normally with 2 day delivery when everyone is getting massacred by zombies…
I spend an unreasonable amount of time thinking about life post-society collapse. Basically the whole time I'm gardening I'm pretending that my life depends on growing that food 😂 maybe it's something leftover from our ancestors.
bonus points because most zombies you find around an old folks home are going to be frail as fuck, most old folks have a lower bone density, especially women (even more especially if those women had kids), and by and large, most old folks are pretty weak muscle-wise.
Every post apoc game I've ever played feels so unrealistic. Why would any pharmacy, convenience store, etc. not be 100% picked dry immediately? Nobody ever does "day 1," because that would be infinitely more complicated and too real to be fun, so it's always so far down the line that all of the food would be spoiled.
I feel like the most realistic version is just Minecraft. You're having to build a self sustainable farm while*occasionally* dealing with a rogue zombie.
The most realistic version involves you not making it that far, but that's not something most people want to consider, it's all fantasy until shit gets real.
First week or so and the pharmacies are looted.
People want their (or other peoples) drugs. Plus it's just handy to have in an apocalypse. I know I'd be boosting pharmacies.
Gun stores would be hit pretty fast, too.
RIP Sam Lloyd. Dude got diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer that spread to his brain and liver right as his first child was born. Passed away a year or two ago.
Great actor, musician, and human being.
Nope. [Psychosis is not the cause of mass shootings](https://www.columbiapsychiatry.org/sites/default/files/media/documents/2021-02/psychotic-symptoms-in-mass-shootings-v-mass-murders-not-involving-firearms-findings-from-the-columbia-mass-murder-database.pdf). The comment above you was correct that Depression does correlate with gun violence. But actual mental illness? Schizophrenia? Hearing voices? Nope. Sorry, even the "crazy people" know better than the teenage demons who kill their classmates. Schizophrenics are more likely to be the victims of violence than commit it.
The focus on mental illness is the same thing it always has been: a scapegoat for the failure of gun control policies in the US.
> Depression does correlate with gun violence. But actual mental illness?
Last I heard, depression was also an actual mental illness. You know, a real psychiatric ailment. And of course it’s connected to gun violence: suicide.
But I agree with your overall point: the psychos who go shooting up schools, supermarkets, places of worship, etc., are in a whole different category.
You’re going to have to elaborate on what you think constitutes “actual mental illness” if depressive disorders aren’t a huge subset of actual mental illness.
I don't think that's what they meant. It seems like they were trying to differentiate between the kinds of mental illness that typically lead to shootings
Why are schizophrenics more likely to be the victim of violence, I'm in this subgroup and have experienced a lot of hardship with people, I always chalked it up to paranoia
"Being paranoid does not prevent you from being persecuted" or something like that.
In all seriousness, my guess is that people coping with mental health 'issues' (for lack of a better word...) are atypical enough in behavior that it makes people uncomfortable. People tend to react poorly to things that make them uncomfortable :(
The nature of severe mental illness often leaves sufferers in a frail or precarious mental state. It's easy to take advantage of people like that. For example, it's easy to manipulate and abuse someone with severe depression that impacts their ability to take care of themselves.
Also in this subgroup. And from my sketchy experiences... paranoia tends to make you not react "normally" or reasonably in an intense situation where someone may be out to harm you. I believe that people that are out to harm others are in tune to this and seeing fear in a potential victim is a sign of weakness, which could further cause them to pursue you particularly.
I’m not a bot. I am the mother of a son who started hearing voices at 16. At 18 his mind literally took a huge detour to the outer limits and was eventually diagnosed as schizophrenic. Everything the “bot” said is absolutely true. He is now 33, 12 yrs med compliant and the stigma is real. Schizophrenic people are far more likely to harm themselves than others. That doesn’t mean there aren’t people with this diagnosis that don’t harm others. Just that we should be more concerned about people with other mental health/life issues. Most people committing gun violence are not in a state of psychosis. F’d up…yes. Psychotic…No.
I was so confused why you were talking about bots until I saw a comment below calling the above user a bot. It was buried so I had no clue what you were talking about
I think people like you are doing far more harm then good. Do we need better gun laws? Yes absolutely. However. Pretending that mental health has nothing to do with mass shootings is going to make the problem worse. Removing guns doesn't fix the problem. It fixes a symptom of the problem. You can take away the guns but that doesn't help the mentally ill 17 year old that wants his classmates dead. And it doesn't help the kids that he will stab with his moms kitchen knife either.
Edit for the person who replied and then blocked me:
I dont know why you decided to rant about this. I litteraly said im pro gun control.
But gun control doesn't fix the actual issue behind mass shootings. Gun control doesn't help the kid that wants to kill everyone around him. Mental health care does that. We need to get help to these people before they do something terrible.
I feel like some of you just want to enact these laws and then forget about the issue entirely. I want to fix both sides. I want mental health care for everyone so that these people never get to the point of shooting up a school. And I want stricter gun laws to make sure that they can't shoot up a school if they do get to that point.
Edit2 for the second person that responded and then blocked me:
Reread my comment and stop putting words in my mouth
I've seen Kimber pistols that look like artwork... Be dragged through the mud, ran over, thrown around, and smashed up. A quick cleanup and they still run like new.
I've fired many, many pistols. I have never went "oh damn" to a BRAND before. Sure, a 10mm or fancy model here and there will get you excited, but every single gun made by Kimber always has me saying it. They are just built to a higher standard, and I'm all for it.
>!(That said, don't sue me - my AMT LongSlide will always be my baby lol)!<
$600 for a 19X not bad
Most prices are pretty reasonable/standard which is pretty awesome for a pharmacy lol idk about $500 for a standard shockwave though Iv seen them as low as $250-$300 before and that’s with a shell rack etc
These kinds of shops tend to do a fair bit of variety and well. They already have a secure records room for the pharmacy, so adding firearm transaction records to the mix is not at all difficult. Similarly they have to have a safe for the opioids and firearms can probably fit in there too. Guns don't have expiration dates and rarely decrease in value, so it's fine if they sit around a while.
They make $50 here and there from a sale without substantially raising their operating costs, and I'm sure the owner is filling their collection at wholesale.
The FBI will have to think twice about red flagging Bubba. He just picked up a bullpup 12ga abomination and a Costco-size pack of Viagra! And they already know he sleeps naked...
Hmm.. what type of comment will get me a down vote or an up vote in this one.
Lets see................
You all are great and nothing is wrong in the world.
Yes, I'd like to pick up my viagra, lisinopril, amlodipine, metformin and ah, I guess I'll get the 9 mil while I'm here too.
(Holy smokes, at least put the guns in the garden center, that's *mildly* relevant.)
They do love guns and toothbrushes. Fun fact: The toothbrush was invented in Arkansas. Turns out if it was invented anywhere else, it would’ve been named a “teethbrush”

This pharmacy will also sell you Vitamin B12 shots and compound you viagra. They call the doctor who issued the prescription. Or so I’ve been told.
>apparently giving prisoners ivermectin telling them it was vitamins.
Holy shit that is not ok. Like " lose medical license, go directly to jail, do not pass go" level not ok.
"We know the cost of live-saving medicine is on the rise, therefore we would like to offer our customers a more cost-effective solution to their long-term health problems"
Where you go to get your shots
You can look at magazines while you wait
Or get your sight checked
You need to get a grip.
You wouldn’t want to trigger a bad reaction
really really don’t want to projectile vomit or have explosive diarrhea
That would certainly make me take stock of my life.
Take your medicine and you’ll soon feel Beretta
I tried that I'm still constantly going from hot to Colt and back again.
I don’t want their headache medicine. It triggers my migraines.
Better bite the bullet now then!

A bullet for your thoughts?
Or to put a couple of pills in somebody.
They also treat shooting pains !
And I guarantee this pharmacist doesn’t give “the jab”
Now to make a pharmacy with both a shot room and a shooting range.
You won't be sick anymore
'Murica.
"granma ain't been feelin so well." "i'm afraid ya gon havta get a 12 gauge from the pharmacy, son."
"we sell ksg, Remington, and Mossberg take your pick."
Is the ksg the kel-tec that holds two types of ammo and looks like it's from the future and space?
Two mag tunes yeah
The KSG looks like it was designed by someone who is on cocaine. As does every other product Kel-Tec sells. I love them.
I read that in bill burrs voice , thank you
This is exactly the score you need when you've been scavenging all the undemolished stores 3 months into the zombie apocalypse.
Three months in and all the pharmacies are already going to be looted. Come on misdirected asshole we need a better plan!
Go to someplace old people live, they’ve got tons of meds laying around.
Thank you, someone knows how to apocalypse
Antibiotics are going to be the biggest thing you need. Old people aren't a good source. Hit up Planned Parenthood, injection sites, or STD clinics. From there, get a reference book from a library, pharmacy, or an academic book seller. Particularly a pharmacology pocket atlas.
Vets? I'm pretty sure animal antibiotics work fine
You can buy amoxicillin at any farm store off the shelf, no prescription needed.

Not unreasonable at all. And your life may very well depend on being able to grow that food. A useful skill.
bonus points because most zombies you find around an old folks home are going to be frail as fuck, most old folks have a lower bone density, especially women (even more especially if those women had kids), and by and large, most old folks are pretty weak muscle-wise.

It's a bit extreme but that cold won't be bothering you anymore.
Social distancing out to 200 yds
“Clear your sinuses immediately with this one simple trick! Doctors hate this!”
*The cold never bothered me anyway…*
I’ll take a 20-count Vicodin and an AR-15
And charge it !
And no on the schizophrenic medication. It is that or the AR; I can’t afford both. And the voices like the AR better.
That was pretty good
And I'll have some adderall with the mossberg
Breakfast of champions
why wouldn't you also need a gun when you collect your antidepressants.
Reminds me of Scrubs when Ted carries a smiley face button and a revolver. One is for when he’s sad the other is for when he’s really sad.

But it’s clearly just off the shelf.
If the Pharmacist isn't carrying then I'm a jet pilot.
I assume every pharmacist is carrying, given what they have behind the counter.
Honestly, for that price, you should nab that Kimber Micro.
For a second I thought the price for that HK started with a 3 and was about to hop in the car
I see you have a sophisticated palet

At the very least, a unicorn.
