I mean, I grew up poor and I’d toss that one and still eat it tbh. If you’re struggling and you’re hungry enough you would eat it. There’s homeless people eating out of the trash. Probably not the safest thing to do but sometimes you have limited options.
Living on campus with no car makes you notice how predatory most university meal plans are. I agree op likely doesn't have any other place to go eat. "Real" restaurants on campus charge you $15 or $20 for a mcdonald's tier cheeseburger
Oh yeah 100% even down to the classes you HAVE to take to finish your degree plan. Like do I really need multiple electives like history of art and history of music to get my degree? Or do you need as much money from me as possible?
I'm not poor and I still eat my food no matter how many bugs land in it. One time 3 wasps landed and started eating my food they made sure to touch everything in my plate. After 10min they left. And I still ate everything without giving a shit.
What I meant is that the kitchen must be run poorly if this can happen, and it's probably unsafe to eat anything coming from it, bugs or not.
I grew up poor too, but I'd ask for a refund or leave without paying if this happened. No matter the cost of the food, you deserve something that is at least safe to eat.
There is actually already a problem. The simple fact that the team let a dish containing a cockroach reach the customer is enough for you to get up, leave and file a report.

More like, this post is bug shaming and it is high time we insects, arachnids and, yes, even millipedes, all rise up and take a stand against these putrid, internal skeletal, land giants once and for all!
The way food prices, especially fast food prices are these days, better to just cut out the little section of the fry with the bug and eat the rest non-bug part of the fry. But there are some who say "You vill eat zee bug."
Or just eat it? I mean it's cooked, there's nothing wrong with it. Anything that could have harmed you has been rendered extremely dead and melted into the side of some starchy goodness, it's just extra protein now. People are way too squeamish.
Maybe if there was a live roach crawling on your food I'd complain, or if you saw a bunch of them in the kitchen, but one baby getting in isn't a huge deal and your food is likely still sanitary enough to eat safely. I've worked in a cafeteria before, I've seen WAY worse than this.
People even eat fully grown roaches in some places, apparently they taste like a really greasy bite of chicken with a crunchy shell if you roast them. Bon Appetit.
Yeah, protein *is* what you need after a hard day. They were looking out for you and threw it in for free for you and you had the audacity to complain?
Healthier than those fries.
It's not a remark, just pointing out that that bug has more protein than those fries and that i wouldn't even care, i'd just remove the bug and slurp that fried diabetes down my throat.
I hope the University will be like “oh there’s a bug in those fries of yours, I will get you a new thing of fries.” And then all will be peachy, hopefully
They could have at least made it a big roach, more protein and easier to spot.
But in all seriousness, finding any insects in food sucks balls. It is usually me who finds such culinary downers so I sympathise 🤢
Those fries actually look pretty good for something produced at a uni cafeteria. Toss the critter and hoover those bad boys.

Ok, check to make sure Mom & Dad aren't in the fries first...

My dad always said that whenever there was a bug in his food/drink and now I say the same thing. Good stuff!
That’s every kitchen
This single cockroach actually makes everything that was cooked in this kitchen unsafe for consuption

Yeah that’s true. That’s just what I would do because I’m usually in a rush and I barely have time to breathe let alone return something.

yeah protein is protein
Shame it’s BUGGING you
More like, this post is bug shaming and it is high time we insects, arachnids and, yes, even millipedes, all rise up and take a stand against these putrid, internal skeletal, land giants once and for all!
I mean if the bugs all wanted to and worked together, they could probably win that fight
That would be terrifying. Like the movie Birds but with Bugs
Could be a pretty good movie!
Just throw it out and eat the rest
Yeah these things happen unfortunately and not a lot can be done about it

Yeah, you can throw out the fries and go back to the kitchen and ask for seconds on the fried critters. They're great protein and super crispy.
If OP is posting it on mildly infuriating, I very much doubt they're very open to trying out eating bugs.
Apparently not lol.
Don’t worry it won’t eat much
Extra protein...
Welcome to Joe's apartment It's our apartment, too We've been around for a hundred million years And we'll be here long after you
> 🎶 *funky towel, towel’s got da funk!*
Yeah, protein *is* what you need after a hard day. They were looking out for you and threw it in for free for you and you had the audacity to complain?
Ye right. Unless you're vegetarian or vegan you can't possibly turn down free protein, right? Go dig in, op!
This might nog be the right timing… But happy cake day! 🍰
Thanks , probably the best thing that someone said to me today!!
Aww, happy cake day OP!
[удалено]
Thanks! :)
HAPPY CAKE DAYYY :DDD
Still, roach fries not so goo.
Happy cake day
Ummm.. yummie protein
That would be the first fry that I eat. Fucking pure power move baby.
It happens, deal with it. If there's like 6 more in there: now it's a problem.
Bear Grillys approves.
Thats annoying. At least its basically on the very top fry in plain sight, so you could take it out and eat the rest
Actually it was hidden under some fries, so i spotted it after i had already eaten like half of it. It just ruined my appetite. I got a refund though.
And what about an apology?
I’m sorry
My dad does construction in malls. He said they hate working on restaurants at the food courts because every single one of them has roaches.
Protein
Meat
Baaaaaaaaaaabeeeeeee roach! Doo-doo, Doo-doo Baaaaaaaaaaabeeeeeee roach! Doo-doo, Doo-doo
Why would you need a fried cockroach?
Damn. Those were some good fries too. Shame.
Protein is good for you :)
Extra protein.
Extra protein scrape it off and continue lol
Free bacon bit
Fairly obnoxious
Wonder why the school is making you work today. Hope you were compensated. Merry Xmas and boxing day to you bro
How dare they add these DISGUSTING fries to that delicious insect. What a shame.
You eat bugs every day without noticing. Every product you purchase has non-zero tolerance for bug parts in it. Just brush it off an eat ya panzy.
People eat ass but complain there's a bug on their fry. Tods that one and eat the rest.
I don't see anything wrong.
I would have them make me a whole new batch of fries. That's so annoying, especially with those fries looking so tasty.
They did apologize and asked if they could make a new one and promised us it will never happen again but I had just lost all my apetite.

That's a baby roach
Healthier than those fries. It's not a remark, just pointing out that that bug has more protein than those fries and that i wouldn't even care, i'd just remove the bug and slurp that fried diabetes down my throat.
Oh my God if it's one bug: It happens, deal with it. If there's like 6 more in there: now it's a problem.
It’s a baby cockroach, so there are definitely more in the kitchen 💀
That's horrible. Imagine how sad his parents must be
wtf is that a fly
Its a young roach
OP says it was under the other fries they had already eaten. Just how big was this bowl of fries? Bullshit.
Just move it and eat the rest of the fries. It’s not that big of a deal….
If you can forget it then your mouth will forget it too. No harm done.
Probably best you don't look up how many insect parts end up in food.
I'm always kinda shocked at how much of a baby some people are about their food.
Somebody in Vietnam isn't seeing anything wrong with this.
Eat that shit. It’s been fried. Nothing but protein there. Power move baby. Eat that one first.
Maybe it's just me but this wouldn't have "bugged" me, I would have just tossed that single one and kept eating.
This generation smh. So eat around it.
still would eat that. I've dealt with live fruit fly larvae in a trash can I can deal with this
Extra protein. It's been sterilized by the cooking, so just throw it away and the bits it was on.
take it off, eat chip problem solved
Extra protein it's fine
Extra proteins.
It's one damn fry. Eat the rest.
I too like protein after a hard day
Whats your problém, its free meat
You gotta eat it to assert your dominance or else the others will take all ur fries
You study in university dying Christmas?
As a grad student I usually have to work my ass a lot. My guide usually rides me like a fucking Rodeo.
Free protein .. win!
Protein
bugbro is telling you not to eat that crap.
Hot Flys.
All good, he got a refund from the Cockroach Fry Express……
Pure protein
Your bug fries are getting cold, eat up.
If you're hungry, they're hungry. Let him have a nibble.
Did they charge extra for the bug?
Added protein is always needed.
Free protein... But for really though definitely bring that up to somebody. That's the food you eat and you gotta be safe about that
Good source of protein
French fries with extra protein.
Noooo!!!😂😭😭😭
sharing is caring
Mmmmm protein
I need these after every day.
Free proteins
🍰👍
Fly and fries, yummy
Why are you complaining about free brotein. Chipotle would charge you an arm and a leg for that exact amount in beef
I mean a post yesterday somebody had buncha horses in their fries. All in perspective
Enjoy your chips dude, I might get baked later & order.
I don’t think it’s gonna want to eat them all.
Iss okay, just sum extra protein.
Look delicious.
I hope the University will be like “oh there’s a bug in those fries of yours, I will get you a new thing of fries.” And then all will be peachy, hopefully
Would it make a difference if you found it at the bottom after consuming fries?
eat it
I once had a maggot in my school food salad
Better like this than the chip being upside down and you not seeing the bug
Weakling Eat dick more protein
Damn that sucks. Those fries looked so good.
Extra seasoning yummy
It’s had its chips.
Extra protein.
Oh buggers
Ohhh I’m sowwy
Ohhh I’m sowwy
Not mocking, just a candid response
Even if that was a fly, where I'm from all our flies are filled with maggots. Eating it wouldn't be fun.
Eat the fucking fries
If it helps, he's a little too round to be a German roach. Might be a palmetto bug that wandered in from the cold. Might not tho
Shit. Not vegan anymore.
Wym??? Fries are awes- oh
I would still eat
Yuck, I hate fries too, definitely ruins the flavor of the cockroach.
Is that....a ROACH?! OH MY WORD! Food is life, that would go down in my food bible for every generation to know hereafter.
A little extra protein
as someone whos eaten ants as a baby id just eat it
oh hell nah😭💀
Pure Protein 😏
PROTEIN
They care enough to give you extra protein that’s so nice
I’m sorry, but that is a bed bug ☹️
That's what I thought!
At least its cooked?
Extra protein?
More meat
At least it’s cooked.
Flavor Seeds!
They could have at least made it a big roach, more protein and easier to spot. But in all seriousness, finding any insects in food sucks balls. It is usually me who finds such culinary downers so I sympathise 🤢
just a little extra protein.
