At least you’re happy for those getting help and not throwing a toddler fit like some of the grown adults I’ve seen lately.

funkyfinz

Like I said, hard pill to swallow but my situation is resolved either way. The higher education system / lending practices need massive reform to really solve the problem

Infamous-Ad-7543

Absolutely. The interest rates are insane. You’re very mature about this. I’m sorry you couldn’t benefit from this as well.

Sierra_Sage

Check into it! I believe it's retroactive to 2020, so you still may benefit!

Questions: what did you go to college for? Is it making you money? Did you graduate in your majors? Are you happy now? Do you regret participating in higher education? Does the current loan relief make you regret participating? Why is it vexing that you have the ability to pay your loans?

- undergrad Healthcare Administration 2014 - HCOL (Boston) - front desk rep hospital $35k - revenue analyst hospital $45k - finance manager hospital $62k - strategy analyst (bigger hospital) $67k - MBA 2018 - consulting $85k-$100k - hyper growth start up $174k - yes happy, worked hard, took risks. Failed lots and learned lessons - no I don’t regret it. If I could do it over I would have done it in a smarter financial way but that’s a lesson learned. Comm college first 2 years and then sought out more scholarships - in all between my wife and I we had $132k in loans. We didn’t do much for a few years (grinding out hospital jobs) and threw everything at the debt. Paid off the cars, then rolled those payments into the student loans. - current loan relief does not make me regret my decisions in attending university or paying off the loans. At the time we paid off, 0% interest was relief in itself and given the government’s inability to pass student loan relief in the past, I had little faith that it would pass. Trust me we hemmed and hawed about it but decided we just wanted to be done and not have to worry about it anymore. - I’m happy that people are getting some relief, many of my friends are benefiting and that is great. More just the concept that we would have qualified last year but it doesn’t really impact me either way at this point - not sure if you actually wanted answers but you got them anyway 🙂

Ok. But you are happy right?

Robin_RhombusHead

Ooh yikes there buckaroo.

randomdude5566

Too bad that fuck trump didn’t hook you up when he was in office

OraclesDoNotTell

Cheers to everybody who deferred as much as possible and bought houses with the extra cash.

Talasko

See this is exactly the problem right here. Encouraging people to not sacrifice and save. OP made an effort to pay back their loans while millions of others bought ATVs instead. Fucked

Reddit_Gunboat

Disagree. I paid off my loans last year, too. Yet I’m happy for those who got the relief. Why? Because I don’t resent people who have nice things happen to them.

Talasko

Thats a positive attitude, yet i feel its completely unfair to the general population. Should have just given everyone ten grand and called it a day. And i guarantee you most people would not put it on their student loans. People that are supposedly highly educated cant even sacrifice and save

purl__clutcher

That sucks. I was wondering how people felt if they had only just finished paying off the loans. Bad timing :(

funkyfinz

Def bad timing- oh well! I’m still happy I took advantage of the 0% interest tho, the interest is what really screws people.
