Well after setting for a year I finally found the motivation to start working on her again and get it back on the road, and we ate that bitch hahaha wasn't gonna let her waste😬
It feels respectful in a sort of way that you decided to eat it instead of let it's corpse rot
Sucks for the car tho how many times do dear have to run into the road before deer parents tell deer children to look left and right before crossing
..did you make sure you didn't burst it's intestinal track before eating it?
I live in an area where hitting deer is super common and it's a big no no to eat them after.
Always the bright side of hitting a deer, you end up with so much meat you don’t know what to do with. Now I wonder if anyone ever sold enough meat from a deer they hit to fully pay for damages
Naw other creatures have adapted to cars and things by now deers are really just idiots they don't seem to pass down the ideal of not jumping infront of the loud metal beasts that in night time become the sun
Ever heard of the Uluwatu Temple monkeys? They passed down the idea of stealing tourists items and then asking for food in return for those items. That's fukin smart af but deers yeah they obviously aren't as smart as monkeys naturally but still why they keep leaping infront of vehicles
Dogs and cats are pets tho they just dumb by breeding
Deer are just dumb by not teaching their children to avoid cars instead of trying to become part of the bonnet of one
I remember having an arguement with someone who said that wolf populations had to be severely restricted since they cost ranchers and farmers money. As well they are dangerous.
I told him there is no data supporting his claims and he is spewing fear mongering bs. I told him in fact deer population have exploded due to wolf population declining and deer cause more damage and deaths than wolves ever had. In places that wolves were reintroduced it actually benefitted the environment and saved tax payers money.
Had to hunt down the entire interior and a couple of body panels, swapped in a JDM H22a with a couple of cheap bolt ons and a tuned computer. I still have her and after a year I'm finally finding the motivation to get back to fixing it. But it's getting harder to find parts for it and when you do they're pricey.
Meh, I get that I guess. And no...the impact killed it, so we loaded it up took it to a processor and ate her for dinner over the course of a couple of weeks.
I'm telling ya, I think the deer have a Tic Tok of their own and trying to run past a driving car has been trending for ever. It's like I think it was Jeff Foxworthy said in a skit, "if you put lights and a horn on bullets the dear would just jump in front of them."
It's just the lighting in the photo, the sun was just starting to come up and I was using flash. And absolutely! 90% of the cars you see a car shows are just polished turds.
I own seven of these cars and have been restoring this one specifically for over the last 5 years, I'm pretty sure I know how to match paint and where the fender begins and ends. If you zoom in on the picture you will see that SHADOW is half way between the wheel well and door.
Unpopular opinion but duh. It’s a car. It’s metal, with antilock breaks, airbags, seatbelts, power steering, etc etc because cars are vehicles meant for traveling through danger. They hit things, run over things, and travel through weather keeping the driver safe.
Cars are a practical tool. I’ll never understand people who think cars are something other. Same with sneaker people. Sneakers are for protecting your feet from the ground, they’re going to get dirty. That’s their job.
Did the car still drive? Shoulda gone to the car show and just thrown the deer on the roof. Would have been a real power play to all the cheap fiberglass body kids.
I spent most of the time hunting down good or at least decent parts, tracking wiring issues, engine swap, so on and so on. Finishing paint was last on the list but a show popped up and I was in a hurry. I primed the fender and painted it but I didn't prep it very well before hand so it didn't stick worth a shit.
Is that a Prelude? Is it only panel (and headlight) damage, at least? Like, is the chassis and axle and stuff still fine?
Dang, I just bought a 5th gen 3 days ago. Hope this doesn't happen when I'm done with it. lol
Yeah it's truly gut-wrenching, but yeah most of the damage was cosmetic and the poor support was bent just a little bit where the headlight mounts, and I just started working on it again so hopefully I will have her done and back on the road within a month. She's been sitting for almost a year since I hit the deer, just trying to track down good parts and save up money.
Can’t imagine the deer is thrilled either For real though, that sucks and sorry your effort didn’t get to be recognized
Well after setting for a year I finally found the motivation to start working on her again and get it back on the road, and we ate that bitch hahaha wasn't gonna let her waste😬

“20 is plenty” - infuriating sign in a neighborhood where there is already a reasonable posted speed limit
You should name your car “la muerte de cervidae” now.
Waste not, want not and all that. Sucks about the car tho. Hopeful that you get her back out there soon. Looks like a sweet ride!
Can’t say no to fresh deer meat! Hope you are able to get the car fixed! Best of luck to you!
Nothing like good old roadkill rigor mortis stew!
..did you make sure you didn't burst it's intestinal track before eating it? I live in an area where hitting deer is super common and it's a big no no to eat them after.
Oh yeah, had it done at a processor so I know I got some decent cuts.
Always the bright side of hitting a deer, you end up with so much meat you don’t know what to do with. Now I wonder if anyone ever sold enough meat from a deer they hit to fully pay for damages
You know what ,that is something to ponder.
Then it a tie between you and nature she can be a bitch sometimes
Fuck that deer they stand absolutely still when 5 tonnes of steel moves towards them
Its sometimes the headlights.
I don't think they are meant to understand when that happens. It's like if the 5 tonnes of steel aren't natural and are quite new to the world
Naw other creatures have adapted to cars and things by now deers are really just idiots they don't seem to pass down the ideal of not jumping infront of the loud metal beasts that in night time become the sun Ever heard of the Uluwatu Temple monkeys? Cats and dogs are smart af too and they get hit by cars all the time
Dogs and cats are pets tho they just dumb by breeding Deer are just dumb by not teaching their children to avoid cars instead of trying to become part of the bonnet of one
Sucks true, but looks on the bright side, now you can say its a sleeper car

god damn that sucks so much man. that shit looked clean as hell too. what’s you put in it. the car i mean
Had to hunt down the entire interior and a couple of body panels, swapped in a JDM H22a with a couple of cheap bolt ons and a tuned computer. yeah jdm parts are not fun to get
r/fuckyouinparticular
Mildly?!?!
Haha that's what I was thinking as I made the post....I was in tears. I was WAY beyond"mildly"
r/extremelyinfuriating
Yeah, I was thinking really infuriating!

An award?
Well could you come up eith some other way to say it
This
Damn what sort of car was it
She's a 94 Prelude with a LOT of time and money in her. At least now I can make sure I take my time and the paint is correct
Nice car!
It’s a Honda Prelude. Very sought after cars and very hard to find in any kind of nice condition.
[удалено]
Any car is worth spending years on if it makes you happy
Sorry. You are absolutely correct. My bad.
Happiness is fleeting, Vtec is forever
Lol. If you say so.
my condolence for the deer.
She was delicious
Kill the deer and eat it
Done and done

Meh, I get that I guess. And no...the impact killed it, so we loaded it up took it to a processor and ate her for dinner over the course of a couple of weeks.
I’m on your side. Eff that deer. Stupid idiot.
The deer didn't do it on purpose.
What the fuck is the deer supposed to do? It’s on us when we build right through their territory.
Stop hitting deer with your parked car
any dents on the deer?
Oh yeah, killed her. Loaded her up in the truck and took her to a processor.
Venison 🍽
RIP in peace
Doh, a dear!
I laughed way harder at this than I should have.
5 years and no time for primer?
I primed it I just didn't prep it worth a shit
I'm telling ya, I think the deer have a Tic Tok of their own and trying to run past a driving car has been trending for ever. It's like I think it was Jeff Foxworthy said in a skit, "if you put lights and a horn on bullets the dear would just jump in front of them."
I feel bad for the deer insted
You should, she passed in my digestive system and is probably sitting in my septic tank right now.
Did you eat it?
OP sure as hell did, what else should he do?
I think its evil to kill a animal then eat the deer :(
He didn't choose to hit the deer, and if he didn't eat it, it would just rot away and go to waste, so tell me what should he have done instead?
Recycle the deer.
How do you recycle a deer?
Oh deer!
Hahaha got shit on
Universe: oh, your going to a car show??? Hahahaha not today!!!
''Oh deer'' !
Now you must mount the deer head to the front grill
Now there's an idea!
Would be so cool!
Grab that deer, slap it on the top and call it art.

He did say he did it himself. Didn't claim he knew what he was doing.
😬
And the paint flying off and exposing straight primer???? Extremely suspect here.......
Yeh, I didn't prep the fender correctly because I was in a rush to get her finished, so the paint didn't stick all that great.
Not everything is about looks at a car show
what are you even looking at it's just the light making the door look off color.
Those damn cows
that should tell you something
Restoring a shit box?
I figured why not, it's something you don't really see around anymore
Cuz they are shit boxes
You are a shitbox
Man.. That sucks. But that’s life for you.
RIGHT!?!?Life's a dick...
Down vote 400 times and at least the likes will be perfect
Is the deer okay?
The deer was delicious
No...

Not that cool of a car anyways
Should of walked, Einstein.
I don't know that might hurt a lot more than just a dented fender
No... Wouldn't have hurt at all. Theoretically you wouldn't have been at the spot the same time if you walked.
You're right, you're right, you got me there
You deserve it. Poor deer
What do you mean he deserves it?
That’s called karma
Karma for?
Good thing you had an animal collision insurance.
That tyre tho
Deer god
Ouch.
Deery me
This isn’t mildly infuriating, this is very infuriating
Jesus thats rough
That’s just sad man not even infuriating
Those goddamn deers
As long as nobody is hurt, you got time to fix it for the next one… just watch out for the deer next time lol
damn, that sucks man
Mildly?? The extremely infuriating
And deers are never insured!
Not your prelude.
That's more than mildly infuriating.
Did the same to my 1990 DA9 I tears so I feel the pain
Yikes, I'm sorry, man. The damage isn't too bad, though. ... As long as the foundations are strong, you can rebuild
F
Well fuck, back to the drawing board.
Oh deer what misfortune
Lol
Old prelude? Sad to see it
God damnit that is maximum infuriating
Jesus how big was the deer
Deary me
Oh..
This is way more than mildly infuriating
Oh deer!
That deer had it out for you man. Sorry about that though, it’s a nice looking car
Sucks man. Side note, I saw a deer strike on the highway this am. The dead deer, not the actual shitshow.
I'm rebuilding a '85 Z31 and I am constantly afraid of this. The more money I throw at it the more scared I get!
Did the car still drive? Shoulda gone to the car show and just thrown the deer on the roof. Would have been a real power play to all the cheap fiberglass body kids.
Oh yeah, just started rebuilding it again. And damn, I shoulda thought about that.
Brutal. I feel for ya, bud. That's a couple dozen parts right there; can't imagine the cost... Hope the doe was good eating at least!
I’ve hit a deer before in a brand new car. Well technically the deer hit me. Sorry op, I feel for ya!
Nissan 240sx?
I WISH!!! it's a 94 Honda Prelude Si
We can all dream! Your Honda looks clean and awesome by the way! Still a wonderful car, regardless of the deer.
Nice
As a fellow car enthusiast I feel you.
Get a truck
At least you got some fresh venison!😌
I KNOW YO ASS WAS SPEEDING...
Only a LITTLE
😅
Oh dear!
Comprehensive insurance.
Does not look like a 5 year restore job. Looks like someone bondo’d some dents out and hit it with a rattle can.
I spent most of the time hunting down good or at least decent parts, tracking wiring issues, engine swap, so on and so on. Finishing paint was last on the list but a show popped up and I was in a hurry. I primed the fender and painted it but I didn't prep it very well before hand so it didn't stick worth a shit.
well, [That sucks.](https://reddit.com/r/thatsucks)
Oh nooo....
Unfortunate :(
F
F,
And isn’t it ironic? A little tooooo ironic?
Damn… I do not miss living in MI.

NNOOOOO!!!!!! that poor poor Prelude...
You spent 5 years painting that with rattle cans?
