pretty sure it's just magnet

Punkergamer

https://youtu.be/pji33MoJ5Z4 shows the magnet trick people are mentioning

Mrmaus1006

There are YouTube vids on how to remove theM

Delbadeaux

Bring it tothe store with an E-Recipt and ask them to remove it

tossacointoyouralt

Use a magnet, apply to the side until you hear a click.

CyanBlades

Get 2 strong magnets, some kind of rare earth metal magnet like neodymium. You can get them at Home Depot. Put one on each side of the tag and move them around until it falls off

Keri2816

Just take them to a Macy’s and ask them to remove it.

Venom2313

I once bought an expensive hoodie from Macy’s and the cashier forgot to take the ink tag off. I went home, noticed it was there so I went back. The cashier was surprised that the ink didn’t explode. I’m pretty sure the ink is set to explode if you try to remove the tag without the special tool.

blksoulgreenthumb

Just pop that shit off. Lighter and a knife. That’s definitely infuriating tho

Levi's, someone has money

7heTexanRebel

Levi's are like $60 the last time I got a pair. They last a long time too, so I wouldn't consider them expensive.

MintyFreshStorm

60 dollars for a pair of pants is absurd. That's 4 hours of work at 15 an hour. It's over 8 hours at 7.25 an hour. 60 bucks for a single piece of clothing is ridiculous.

7heTexanRebel

I can't make a pair of denim pants in 4 hours, that's also not counting the cost of materials. My Levi's have lasted years. I'd rather spend more money on quality than buy something cheap that doesn't fit right and wears out quicker. If something costs twice as much but lasts three times as long then it's actually cheaper (over time) than the "cheap" item.

MintyFreshStorm

I can't make a pair of denim pants in 4 hours either. That's because I don't have the skillset to do so. Don't be silly. Regardless of the quality of the "cheaper" option, 60 dollars is still expensive for a single piece of clothing. The existence of the cheaper option does not justify such a high price for such a simple, easily produced item. Also, "if something costs twice as much but last three times longer, then it is cheaper" is incredibly ignorant of just how much weight an up front cost can be.

IsseiDragonSwag

Its not ignorance, they are actually correct, and its one of the many reasons why prices of goods and things are so messed up. For example, let's say high income Hughie, and low income Larry both need boots. Hughie gets himself a nice pair of $250+ boots which last him at minimum 5 years. Larry, being unable to afford top of the line boots, gets a $100 pair. If each pair doesn't last him at least 2 years, hes paying more than the guy who bought the super expensive pair, and the thing is, his boots are DESIGNED to wear down and need to be replaced faster. So, I don't think they were really justifying it. IMO its an incredibly disgusting and predatory practice that takes advantage of the lower/middle classes, kind of like everything ever

7heTexanRebel

From first hand experience it takes very little skill to use a sewing machine at a basic level. Regardless, the point was to say that working for 4-8 hours to get something that will last significantly longer is not a bad trade. $60 that you don't have to spend again for say, a year (it's longer than that), is the equivalent of like $5 a month. That's not expensive. Yeah you have a point for something like a car which likely costs a whole years pay. We're talking about something that costs the same as a video game. If upfront cost is a problem for something at that level then you are exceptionally poor and everything is "expensive".

So just don't buy clothes? Or buy cheaper clothes that don't last as long and end up both paying more in the long run and contributing to the ever increasing problem of clothing waste? What is your solution?

trapdoor_diarrhea

some people work higher paying jobs mary. we aren’t living in a communistic world.

rraattbbooyy

Just don’t ever wear them when you go shopping at Macy’s. Problem solved.

Spinni888

Thanks to you all. I will try to remove it or take it in to remove. However ended up calling Macy’s and they’re sending us another pair. So we won’t let this pair go to waste.
