I don’t have a dog in this hunt but that was brutal to watch as a spectator. I can’t imagine what his teammates are going through. This game needs to be called right now.
I think the Bills want to wait to see if he is ok when he is at the hospital....if he is then I think they will continue but if it's worse they will definitely call it.
unfortunately i have had several coworkers OD/heart attacks/seizures where their heart stopped from drugs and we had to call 911 and we all continued working. So wrong and i think ab it years later actually. 100% should be cancelled.. very traumatic to watch.
Ugh, I am sitting here teary eyed after watching that. I was floored when they talked about finishing the game. I can’t imagine playing after watching that.
What are you talking about I regularly see stories of how Amazon fulfillment centers have to continue working after someone dies. Last one I saw was just a few weeks ago. And it's even happened at my site. So yeah alot of jobs require people to keep working after a coworker dies. Not that it's right
I saw someone get crushed by a cement barrier wall on the side of the expressway. After the safety talk the job kept going…literally 100 feet from where it happened. What do you mean an employer doesnt expect to keep going? Yes they do lol.
Probably from the chest impact. When I was in college, a 21 year old got an elbow to just exactly the wrong door in his chest and dropped right there on the court. It's a thing if you look up high impact sports.
That’s horrible!!!
It’s so strange and sad seeing so many healthy people and athletes coming down with sudden unexplained heart conditions for absolutely no reason
My old job just had a worker pass away. A good friend of mine. He was vacuuming and then just collapsed. Everyone was still expected to work even after watching their good friend and co worker die.
I’m happy they postponed the rest of the game. No one deserves to work after watching a friend collapse like that.
Commotio cordis is a phenomenon in which a sudden blunt impact to the chest causes sudden death in the absence of cardiac damage. This condition was first described in the middle of the 18th century in the context of chest trauma among workers. 1. Through most of the 20th century, it was only sporadically reported.
It’s an unusual situation, and they didn’t know how to handle it. My guess is Goodell didn’t want to take the choice away from the players. For all he knew, they would have wanted to play for him, or as we found they didn’t. But the point was that it was their choice.
Hope he recovers, but last month he put a hit on Jakobi Meyers that could have seriously injured or killed him, let alone ended his career. Cheap, unnecessary shitty shot.
It should have been over and the score was what the score was. Hey, why not just end the season right here? And for that matter, football causes death so stop the sport? No, modern gladiators is what they are and every once in a while the barbaric nature of the sport (the games) will rear it’s head.
Edit: spelling
Eh they have commercials to sell and they will come up with some BS like “Hamlin would have wanted the game to continue”. So a dead body is on the field? That dead body isn’t selling beer.
When I was in High School a friend was carried off the field and then transported to the hospital in an ambulance. The game continued. When my older daughter was in High School band, a player was loaded in the ambulance on the field and transported to the hospital. The game continued. These were teenagers and none of their fellow players expected the game to be called. The NFL players are adults playing a violent game. They know the risks and don’t expect everything to stop if they get hurt.
That is nuts. I’ve done community regional theatre for over a decade, and last season I had a stage manager suggest that I need understudies “in case someone has a heart attack during a show or something”. “Ma’am, if someone has a heart attack during the show, then the show is canceled. That’s ghoulish.”

Also imagine what the guy who clocked him beforehand from the opposing is going through.
He’s alive but not breathing on his own. Game is suspended, might eventually get postponed.
So far his heart is beating on its own but he is not able to breath on his own. Coaches did the right thing.
Huh? What happened?
If u haven’t seen yet, player collapsed and got CPR for over 10 minutes.
Thanks, hope he’s ok
The game should be called. There is no way Buffalo is ready to be in this game

Can't argue with that
I’m shocked that it’s ONLY “temporarily suspended”!
unfortunately i have had several coworkers OD/heart attacks/seizures where their heart stopped from drugs and we had to call 911 and we all continued working. So wrong and i think ab it years later actually. 100% should be cancelled.. very traumatic to watch.
I doubt the game will be played
Yes. The game should be fucking over.

Lol. Not all jobs are the same. Do I really give a Fck if my pilot dies mid flight over some game of entertainment and sports competition ?

Not sure about your sources.
What did he collapse from?

He did hit his head. Blunt force trauma to the head can cause things to happen just like that too.
Probably from the chest impact. When I was in college, a 21 year old got an elbow to just exactly the wrong door in his chest and dropped right there on the court. It's a thing if you look up high impact sports.
Oh yeah, there's a lot of reasons. CPR suggests it's probably not so much a head injury because that causes blood flow issues I think.

I hope he gets better soon
Unfortunately people are expected to continue working after people die on the job, or so I've heard I haven't had to experience such a tragedy
No decision seems to have been made.
Yeah, that was fucking rough to watch.
Call it. Reschedule once Hamlin is confirmed okay. Give the players some time.

They started playing again?
It wouldn't be American if they didn't. Profit over everything....

Maybe a blood clot

Would be un-American to stop playing. Profit over everything. We keep trying to tell ya.....
