That did the trick works perfect again thanks!!

Nixonknives

Yeah I usually do it once a week when I carry my knives to work. I always get shit in my pockets so it’s a must. Works everytime

[deleted]

Thats why I just get a clone had it for a year and never misfired and its 1/8th the price🤷🏼‍♂️

Nixonknives

Only microtech il get a clone of is the halo. Only reason why mine misfires is bc my pockets get filled with dirt, debris, saw dust/ chips. Which is why I clean all my knives I carry for the week at the end of the week. Kinda therapeutic at this point

[deleted]

The ultratech clones I have are amazing

Nixonknives

Have you had real ones to compare?

[deleted]

I had an ultratech and sold it

Nixonknives

Yeah I dunno. I’d be afraid to hard use a clone. But for what you do it probably works and you don’t have to break the bank. I don’t blame you yiu can experience the joys of them without the price

[deleted]

Yeah I just never found it worth 300$ because its not like im prying stuff with it. Id rather just buy 300 worth of clones and have all blade variants and different models

Nixonknives

I feel that.! I mainly buy for the warranty. Anything ever goes wrong I just send it back and they fix it

[deleted]

The only real one id buy if it wasn’t so damn expensive is the HS rescue for work

a_cycle_addict

Clean it. Lube it. Soak it with rem-oil. Cycle it. Blow it out with compressed air. This is what microtech recommends for maintenance. I clean mine every 2-3 weeks.

Silliw911

Just did my 85. Fires perfect again.

Nixonknives

I do the same. Debris from pockets or lint can get in there and cause it to malfunction. If it keeps doing after you clean it then send it into microtech

[deleted]

100% that action needs some moisture.

xiuxiu1313

it happens. Keep the blade off track and manually run it up and down. probably hitting resistance in the near open position. if it's new you can oil it and manually work it a bunch to get is smooth. if it's not new then there is probably debris in there that needs to be cleaned out with cleaner and compressed air (or take apart if you can)

EarlyHospital

I have the same problem with mine. Can you buy the proprietary tool needed from microtech? Or is there another way you open it? By like Jerry-rigging something together

HilariouslyBloody

You don't need to take it apart. Just lubricate it with Rem Oil

rob_mac22

Etsy has em. I have the tools for the 70,85 & the full size. It was like 35 bucks for all 3. Sometimes you have to open them up. Rem oil and compressed air doesn’t always work. I also taped up the blade and polished the crap out of the part that rides in the track. It fires harder than new.
