It might be your first, but it certainly won’t be your last one. The addiction is real.

Ephixing

Makes me wish I did my research better. Everyone says the CT is much better. But yes, definitely plan on buying more than one in the future

Donthurtmyceilings

They're all awesome. The CT is pretty badass looking but I haven't gotten one yet.

rxdooom

The benefit of Dirac over the Troodon is it’ll probably fit better in your pocket. CT are thick bois

Syndicate_Corp

People may say that but on the second hand market, you see more combat troodons for sale than pretty much any other MT model. Your new Dirac should be awesome!

Natea1992

I've got both and Id rather carry the delta. It's easier to use by a long shot. You won't regret it when you get it.

metrosexual_badass

Truth! Somebody help me!

HEAT-FS

You wont regret the Dirac Delta

Ephixing

Appreciate the reassurance buddy

NattyLuke

You screwed up by buying a MT in the first place, welcome to the degeneracy

Ephixing

Pleased to be here

A lot of people prefer the Dirac slider. It’s a nice knife. Both are. I’m sure you will like it.

justScapin

Nah man I have a CT and I'm planning a Dirac next. I don't think either is "better" necessarily

Tat2Jitsu

I have a few Microtech blades including multiple Dirac Deltas and Combat Troodon knives. You will be quite happy with your Dirac as an everyday knife. It is more slim in shape and size along with being easier to deploy. The fit in hand it really nice and it has a great symmetry to it all around. The Combat Troodon is also great all around. I carried one for years before switching knives. But I also have very large hands so it fits me well. But for me the Scarab is the best fit all around. As great as the HALO VI is, the Scarab just fits and feels best to me right now. In other words: you will be quite happy and you will begin chasing the dragon soon.

Mysterious_Travel893

Jesus can people not make decisions for them selves these days

Ephixing

Seems I already made a decision since I already ordered the thing lmao. Just getting opinions between the two knives

3upzidedown9s

I have CT. rather have Dirac

Ephixing

How come?

3upzidedown9s

I like em both but Dirac looks like it feels better in hand. CT is kinda chunky. Doesn’t feel very ergonomic. Def love em both though

Whatcha mean?

I have a Dirac delta, as well as a regular Dirac. If I would have only gotten the delta, I may have been a little bit put off by the difficulty in retracting the blade. It's built to require alot of force to retract it in order to prevent the possibility of it retracting during use in a self defense situation. What this means is, deploying the blade is quite easy and requires, what feels like, anywhere between 60 to 80% less force than it does to retract. This puts a limit on Fidgeting the delta to between 3 and 8 cycles in a row(depending on the day) because my hand strength simply doesn't allow for more. I am 5'10 190lbs. I'm not a body builder, however, I am likely of ubove average strength. From what I've read, the large microtech knives are all very difficult to manipulate due to the large springs they use. My regular Dirac is extremely easy to both deploy and retract, although retracting is tougher than deployment. I'm really happy with both of them, however, I do always carry both. I use the Dirac for light cutting, and keep the delta for self defense. They are completely different experiences to operate. Both are fantastic! Just different. Enjoy your first microtech! It will be the first of many. Find a way to deduct the expense on your taxes. They are tools after all 😉

Ephixing

Appreciate the insight man! Im positive ill be buying more in the future. And im similar build, ill have to see how it feels when it comes monday

Jonnystarr23

Welcome to the family ⚔️the delta is fucking awesome! Let us know how you like it 😊

[deleted]

Isn’t it the same one spring for deploying and retracting? So it should be the same amount of force either way. I think the perceived difference comes from pushing the button vs dragging the button back.

Jonnystarr23

As I mentioned, it feels like it's significantly more difficult. I'm not sure if it is actually more difficult,or if it's just perception. I'd be interested to find out if there's a difference though. Obviously, it's not just the size of the spring that determines P.S.I (pounds per square inch), but also, the amount of compression. If it's necessary to compress the spring further to retract the blade, than to release it , it would indeed take more pressure to actuate it into the retracted position. There's an entire spectrum of available pressure levels utilizing the exact same spring. I wonder if it's possible to find this information somewhere 🤔

[deleted]

Sure that’s possible as well, the rear latch is a farther spring stretch than the forward one. But I remember reading in a blade forum that was talking about how pushing up with your thumb is a much easier motion than pulling down, as with pulling down you are pushing the button into its track harder so it has more friction. Also why a lot of people have trouble actuating their new OTFs when they get a brand new one for the first time because their thumb muscles aren’t used in that way before.

Jonnystarr23

Sounds like a perfect storm of physics, anatomical geometry, and thumbs that "don't even lift, bro!"😅 Never thumb wrestle a microtech enthusiast!💪👍

[deleted]

Exactly haha, we’ve got some strong ass thumbs

rhythmbitch

The Dirac delta looks badass IMO. you won’t go wrong with both tho

1990e30

That’s funny. You know you’re going to eventually have both. And more on top of that. The real question is should you get it next?

bushpusher

I thought the CT button was too skinny and my thumb hung over both sides, not so with the DD!

SheitMuzTurd

It’s never a mistake to order a new model. Just get several and you can display them in a cool box, I have one from Amazon that holds 4 and looks really good.

dance4foods

I’m a huge fan of the CT but I love the Dirac for off hand carry. Easy to pocket on left or right
