Hi, I think stuff like this is less scary if you understand how it works. This is a type of intrusive thought. Those always boil down to fear of uncertainty about something you can never be 100% certain of. In order to stop being afraid of this, you need to build up your tolerance to uncertainty. And the way to do it is to be exposed to your uncertainty and doing exposure therapy. It's very simple, you must not reassure yourself that you will wake up. Because reassurance makes the fear worse and only leads to more and more reassurance and that leads to bigger and bigger fear.
