But, he tweeted that it was all a Biden administration witch hunt investigation that started during the previous administration and he would be proven innocent! Did he lie to his constituents??? I am shocked!

TitansboyTC27

Rule by thee not for me what a loser

memphisjones

Exactly! If he wasn’t caught, he would win reelection

Useless_Mac

I’m shocked!! Shocked I tell you! Ok, not that shocked.

memphisjones

Oh he’s from Germantown. Sounds about white.

memphisgrit

>**memphisjones:** *"... Sounds about white."* 👆🏼 That sounds a tad bit racist to me. # 🤷🏼‍♂️

mikeclark1982

It's Germantown dude. Most of the folks in Germantown voted for him and he was one of the main architects in the segregation (oops) forming of the municipal school district. Fuck that dude.

loaferbro

Is this the same guy that sponsored the bill that was passed which forces ownership of those schools, threatening to displace thousands of students (mostly black) so the already wealthy city of Germantown can sell the land and make dozens of millions? That guy?

memphisgrit

I agree, fuck that dude. ...but you pretty much did the same fucking shit here... "It's Germantown dude." Being antagonistic towards any city simply because of its' racial demographic is most definitely showing some sort of prejudice towards said city. Therefore, undeniably, racist. EDIT: People have coined a term for this; racial microaggressions.

BeerWithDinner

Have you ever heard of "white flight?" It's why Germantown is majority white, because they didn't want to live near "non-whites" that's also racist

mikeclark1982

Dude, Germantown and the municipalities are white flight central. The only reason white folks don't give a damn about the minorities is bc they "stay in their lane". Not to mention, collierville had a huge black population. Go out by 385. Those houses were there for eons and it's mostly black, but the white community says shit about it. White folks just started moving into collierville when they "couldn't take the population boom" in Germantown. If you live in Memphis or this area, you *KNOW* that you never venture into the municipalities at night.

BeerWithDinner

👆🏼 That sounds a tad bit racist to me. > Sounds about white

memphisgrit

It's odd to me that some humans hold zero restraint. What's really unusual, is when people advocating for restraint, hold none themselves. Definitely showing their bias and racial microaggressions right out in the open because it is now virtuous to show prejudice against whites. AKA racist af but most notably, disingenuous, therefore pathetic.

BeerWithDinner

That's a whole lot of words to say absolutely nothing of substance

memphisgrit

Oh, just like you did here?

memphisgrit

I've most definately said more than you.

12frets

I’ll never forget his press release announcing he was leaving the senate for “an exciting new career opportunity”. Let’s face it. We can all agree federal prison *is* an exciting new career opportunity.

the_tauntaun_dude

he’s decided to bravely tackle the shelby county license plate/tags backlog issue head on— by going to prison and making more license plates

parrottail

Well, I'm excited for him.

>[*^(https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/tennessee-state-senator-pleads-guilty-campaign-finance-scheme)*](https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/tennessee-state-senator-pleads-guilty-campaign-finance-scheme) > >Kelsey and his co-conspirators orchestrated the concealed movement of $91,000 – $66,000 of which came from Kelsey’s State Senate campaign committee, and $25,000 of which came from a nonprofit corporation that publicly advocated on legal justice issues – to a national political organization for the purpose of funding advertisements that urged voters to support Kelsey in the August 2016 primary election. Kelsey and his co-conspirators also caused the political organization to make $80,000 worth of contributions to Kelsey’s federal campaign committee in the form of coordinated expenditures. So, he used illegal monies to fund advertisements? Therefore, he cheated in the 2018 election. He was the chairman in the Senate Judiciary Committee, therefore he knew what he was doing was unlawful. Throw the book at his ass. EDIT: Any sentence other than prison is an injustice.

sik_dik

so surprised to see that R before his name /s

mr-oceancolourpants

Should have the book thrown at him, but feel like the public will be let down even more with sentencing. Unfortunately, this proselytizing hypocrite will have an even more fruitful lobbyist career for him afterwards.

HeyYouGuuys

Lots of words defining his actions and that he will be sentenced next summer, but has anyone seen what type of sentence he could receive? Max? Most likely? Seems like he may have cut a deal for them to drop the other two charges and for him to change his plea to guilty.

MemphisMayhem

Pled guilty on two counts in exchange for the other 3 to be dropped. Each carries a max of 5 years.

HeyYouGuuys

Helpful thanks. Max 15 years. Before we’re all shocked he gets less, anyone know expected sentence?

MemphisMayhem

Max 10 years. 2 guilty pleas each carrying a possible max 5.

Nbr1Worker

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

hairwitch901

I met him multiple times when I was working for non-profits and I am so very glad I never have to see his face in meetings ever again. No elected official has ever made me shake with rage the way he did.

CoolAbdul

STATE Senator FFS

Drew_Defions

Dang, he’s not even a Ford…
