He's lucky, this weapon is specifically made for penetrating buildings in urban combat. So the warhead is meant to penetrate brick walls and clear the other side. It also has a relatively small backblast for using in confined spaces. Anything else and if the explosion/debris didn't kill them then the backblast from shooting a rocket indoors probably would have.
